I know his parents and they were until the last time i checked in their ancestral compound in Amannagwu Village. After his father's death and the mother returned from the UK (I guess), she was bed-ridden. Nwankwo (surname Kanu) was playing youth competition among the 19 villages in Arochukwu ( he came to play for 'his' village Amannagwu as a 'mercenery'). He was younger than me then (and is still is) and i was yet in the University. I am no where near the ages that are bing bandied around as Nwankwo's real age (50, 51, 55, etc). The issue of his ancestry got to me when i was in the villa this past xmas, and i understand he found his new ancestry (after his father's demise and burial in Arochukwu) to be somewhere around Ihiala. I did not think it a very critical issue to pursue and so i did not, and around and about me, it was not an issue to press. What is important to me (and i guess to most) is the fact that he had done well for himself and still doing, he is happily married, a Nigerian that brought honour and laurels to this country and most importantly, another human who is subject to the vicissitudes of power, life and all its entrappings. I wish the young man well whether in Arochukwu or Ihiala. The rest of us should concern ourselves with carving a niche and making a name for ourselves in our chosen fields of endeavour and leaving wonderful steps in the sands of time for posterity to judge us with. |
Guy, i dont care where you choose to pursue your education but one thing is certain, your written grammar is so poor that i would not recommend you to any tertiary institution. Did you really go through a recognized secondary school? |
They have been circulating this for a while now. The ultimate solution is never to change your details on-line. i do 99% of all my transactions with GT online, and i have not experienced any problems yet. Further, keep the number of your account officer or a GT bank branch or head office handy, if in doubt, they are just one phone call away and you will never be wrong on that. |
I do not quite get it. When was this injuction obtained, have we been served, was it obtained exparte, have we been served with the ruling, what is the substantive suit all about. Without the service on us as a public, we reserve our right to peaceful assembly. The police has been put on notice but as usual, they will hypocritically try to brutalize us, but i think the Libyan crises is still very fresh in our memories, we will be gingered by the deliberate hardship to hit the streets on Monday. My only fear is that we have been so impoverished in this country that i dont see the avearge Nigerian sustaining this protest beyond 2 days. I wish Oshiomole and Kokori were still manning affairs, we would surely have brought GEJ to his knees. As it were, i forsee a military take over a deadly circle of marshall music being played in days to come. Mark my words. Power is shifting upcountry again, GEJ has blown an opportunity of a lifetime |
Already drinking, will just continue in that spirit and get high to the Glory of the most HIGH |
Oh Ok. Is that why there is so much traffic snarl? please when are they finishing? It is important that this new thing happening should include proper management of human and vehicular traffic especially with fuel scarcity looming. It would not be a 'good' new thing if we have to suffer the scarcity on the one hand and having this accentuated traffic deliberately caused by humans because of bad management |
Dunno about this afternoon oo, but earlier this morning, i bought fuel at the regulat N65.00 and there were no queues. |
Thanks Lebo, i sure will and will update u later. Thanks. |
On the number of occasions i have used them (ABOUT THRICE IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME RIGHT) We had issues both at take off and landing, on at least two of those occasions, we suffered delays running into a cummulative of more than 7 hours. sadly those flights are always prepaid for me so i find it diffuclt to change once at the airport. I had since sworn never to fly that carrier again, for those who may insist, well I will keep praying for you. |
I urgently need to buy a full grown male alsation to complement a female alsatian. Pure well trained breed will be preferable. |
Just some of the things we are talking about here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-797378.0.html#msg9488695 |
A very insightful page and i must say quite some erudite presentations. I tend to want to ask, 'would it be correct to assume that most if not all those controverting reasonings of other religions are doing that just to entice freecocoa without really concerning themselves so much as to whether her choice will lead to happiness and a fulfilled life and life eternal in due course. I am one of JW, and that is by choice. While i was born into the organisation, i grew up and typical of the prodigal son, i went the ways of the world and having rummaged through the garbage bins that there are, i have retraced my steps and now back NEVER to leave again. I have learnt that staright and narrow is the way and few are those that will find (and stay on it). I can imagine why teh entire world will say all sorts about JW. There was a certain misunderstanding about 1975 coinciding with some years of human kind from creation, people have severally posited that JW had claimed that the world will end then. Assuming (but not admitting) that this claim was ever made, would it not be easier to controvert this then by the simple bible account of Jesus noting that no one knows the day of the end, not even him the son, but only the father (another pointer that claims about trinity is spurious. considering that Jesus himself admitted to ignorance of somethings that are known only to his father). Furter to this Trinity claim, please can someone explain to me when Jesus was dying and prayed saying, father forgive them, who was he referring to, to himself? when after his baptism a voice recognized Jesus as my son in whom i am well pleased, could that have been who? I am not exactly interested in all these arguments, i am aware that the truth shall set whomsoever finds it free, it is up to freecocoa or whoever that decides to choose the way he wants to serve God. I have been able to see and provide bible based explanations to each and everyone that has sincerely sought a reason for my belief. I do know that in keeping with what Jesus said, the world will hate us because we are not part of it although we are taken from it. The surprise should be if teh world started fawning over JWs. As for tenacity with biblical truths, please let us objectively tell ourselves, who does the authoritities recognize as law abiding and tax paying, who supports G.AY marriages and same sex marriages, who has consistently refused to go to wars to kill others, who has depicted the love that Jesus said his followers will be known for? Which religion stood aside during the HUTU killings and even took in HUTUS/TUTSIs, there are a plethora of evidences on all of these and more ALL supported by the Bible, let those who have ears listen and those with eyes should see. Bottom line? as a free moral agent, use your discretion after comparing teachings, sources and empirical evidence on virtually everything seen and written. But do not forget, the fear of man is what brings a snare, do not fear what the world will say, they said and did all those to Jesus, they would do more to those serving him. QED. |
@ Poster I was there, left shortly before i got admission to the university, while in Uni, i had a soul search and shortly before graduation, i went back and have no intentions of leaving again EVER. My point? you can leave whenever you so choose to, it is your life and you have an accounting to make personally. As for those parading their ignorance of the beliefs of JWs, i strongly suggest that you research thoroughly. Empirical evidence are replete. Who supports same sex marriage? who is known never to have joined political affiliations in line with what Jesus did? who is known to try and live within the biblical standards yet aknowledging fallibility as flesh and blood? who does the authorities recognize as being law abiding, paying their taxes and conforming within the laws of the land that do not contravene God's clear positions in the bible? Much as i detest joining issues on these religious points, poster should be aware that he has a free exit and can leave anytime. Someone says he shoos away JWs with a request for prayer, i say YES, you are right, we wount pray for you just forthe sake of it. Is God not your father?, do you have issues with going to him in prayer, if you wanted to ask your earthly father for a favour, would you not go to him and seek the favour? Of course if i notice in the course of preaching that you genuinely require and have a need for that prayer, i will seek God's face for you and most matured witnesses know how to draw a distiction between those asking for prayers as a form of sending us away and those that genuinely know the need for it. In the former instance, we owe you no apologies nor regrets. Having gotten to your doorsteps, we have concluded our side of the bargain to 'preach'. To listen or not to listen is your side of the bargain and we will not be held accountable for that. Finally, my extended family has virtually all religious groups from Catholic through white garment, et all. We all relate as one extended family. If for some reasons in your extended family you guys have issues, please do not put it on religion, find ways of resolving your issues in a mature way. I have spoken. |
THis aint real for shyte. Its at best a clip from his older movie or indeed photoshop. |
splitnaija, ok, i am not one to argue with you on your jazzie powers. Abeg give me small nah, these things come in handy u know, and they make u stand apart. |
It is scripted and well acted. Those performers are very athletic and undergo rigorous body training and discipline. I had to make extensive research to agree that it is stage managed. As soon as i confirmed my doubts, i STOPPED wasting my time on them. |
They should give him a purge medication (whatever that means) to induce shyting in the courtroom, that way the judge can determine this case once and for all times based on the locus in quo ![]() |

End time prophets of Doom!!!! |
With the level of traffic i have been experiencing in the past few weeks in Lag owing to all manner of junk cars being put on the road, I VERILY SUBSCRIBE that fuel pump price should be jerked up to N500. That way, some of these cars will not come out to join in the traffic madness. You think i am selfish, yes. I am human and we all have selfish tendencies. |
All of una no get work, plus the pastor and the shephered. Including the reading audience sef, Mtcheeeewwwwwwww ![]() |
Lying Thief. I could have done a lot better, saying so much and meaning little. How people can get sucked in by this guy beats me. Dolts. |
As a little child, Mallam who was coming with his parents to transact business in Onitsha and later travelled back to Kano had after six years of the journey settled down in Onitsha and had since continued to live in the town. Alhaji Mallam whose wife hails from Ojoja in the old Eastern Region got 12 children from the marriage. Two of the children died and he is left with 10, who are now all married with their own children. Today he has about 46 grand children. Even after most of his business partners have crossed over to the other side of the Niger and settled in Asaba, Delta State due to a problem they encountered some years back which resulted in loss of lives, he has refused to leave, but has continued with his onions and beans business at the Bridge Head Market, Onitsha. His conviction is that Nigeria is one and belongs to all irrespective of tribe or religion and that any Nigerian could settle and carry out his business anywhere he or she wants. Mallam who spoke with Daily Sun in an interview also looked at the Boko Haram menace. Excerpt: Where exactly is your state of origin? I come from Kano State in the former Northern Nigeria Does coming to Onitsha with his parents make him an Onitisha indigene? Secondly, the subject of this interview even admitted to being of Kano origin, so what the fok are we talking about? He can stay there till thy kingdom come, he is still still an HAUSA man, with all the tendencies of his Hausa brothers. I am aware that being an 'Alhaji Chinedu" does not put you in the same pedestel as Alhaji Umoru. So make una shine una eyes oo, my fellow IGBO people |
I hate it when people have decided on a course of action and then they come over here to seek for opinino, my question is : to what end? i read some part of your post @OP and it is clear in my head that you do not wanna put up her pic and you have justified yourself for taking that decision, so what else do u want to hear? I am on fb on a pseudonym that way if i dont tell you about me, you will never find me. Meanwhile, i can search virtually everyone that does not apply the same tactic as me QED. |
I simply did not bother to calculate jack. It is basic arithmetic. |
I will rather run around for someone, take sheet and get paid good money (plus car and driver, productivity benefits, club registrations, provision of welfare services such as hospital care, use of their facility to my small stuff and make some extra income by the side) until i am ready to blow. I have worked for myself before and was near declaring myself insolvent and bankrupt, now i know different. I will make enough sitting here, enough to give me at least 5 - 7 years comfort and living ath the same level, while my small business and practice grows big enough to fend for itself I have seen all that effizy stuff of 'i work for myself', 'i do my own thing' 'i am my own boss'. Honestly, i plan not to jump back in there with both legs, NO WAY. and that is my opinion anyways |
Moreover, who gave us "One nigeria"? Within 3 months of being in power, the ibos gave us "One Nigeria"! please educate me on this. As for Azikiwe, he is just one Ibo and when last i checked, he was not speaking for the generality of Ibos. he was a pioneer of panafricanism and wanted a united Nigeria bc as far as i know, he believes he worked hard (alongside his contemporaries - Awo, Sarduana, etc) to wrench it from the colonial masters and tehrefore could not see himself presiding over its dismemberment. Having said that, we today's IGBOS think and believe differently. Finally, what Ikemba saw 40years which no other person saw or admitted to have seen is the perpetuation of Northern Oligarchy for the sake of Oil. Many have died because of it, many more will. If you doubt me, ask Ken saro wiwa and his Ogoni 9. in his last moments at the guilotine, he remembered and regretted his sabotage of efforts to keep ours to ourselves. What exactly do u think BH is working assidously to achieve? It would have been nice to work together to rebuild this nation, but it really does appear that Gowons declaration that there is no victor and no vanquished is being paid lip service to. While we the IGBOS would have quietly let this arrogance of the rest of the country pass, some keep telling it to our faces that same thing will happen again. We are only saying, BRING IT ON so that we can have a chance to correct the errors of Ojukwu in 1966-1970, Simple. |
MANNY, the way forward is a violent dismemberment of this country. Violent, because we of today's generation want to revenge the high-handedness meted out to our forbears, we will be attacking with venom of the past. |
Dim_wit Haka nai, You either read your books upside down or your mentors have a warped sense of historical antecedents. When the Hausa man wanted to separate, no one objected to it. That was when they actually started the scientific and organised killing of the IGBOS and they were heard shouting 'ARABA' as they butchered my beloved IGBO brothers and sisters DOLT Haka Nai, infantry represents the leg soldiers and these are the ones that roll with the armoured tanks, while blassting off the mortars and rocket propelled grenades. It is a task i promise my God and ancestors to conclude by finishing off your village and removing it from the map of Nigeria, children unborn will never recall the existence of you and your likes. |
@ Shumno Yes. The only solution to Nigeria's problem is Genocide, a calculated and deliberate killing of all our enemies. For this purpose, i have no issues having an Hausa or Yoruba want to kill me, I will not think twice about the same. When the dust is settled, and the glory lost and won, those remaining will have mutual respect for the other survivors and there will be equitable distribution of resources and no one will threaten his fellow man anymore, Boko Haram, OPC, Egbesu, Bakkassi, MASSOB and the rest of the splinter group will dissolve and the new ones will then be born who would only but read about our lost generation. I will be the sage in their midst directing their affairs towards a new country yet unknown and unborn. ![]() |
