Pls Marvel64, can we just focus on your other information about analysing aptitude test and interview brouhaha(if that would change anything now) and forget about the fact that CoC has been issued and 400 APLs are still being type for more than 3 weeks now (I wonder if its only one staff that's typing the APLs).

FCC has NOT issued CoC as at today Sunday 17th June, 2018. Take this statement to Zenith Bank and you would withdraw money (I hope this is clear).

My exact experience.d passive one seemed to want me.like he was even answering my questions for me while d dominant one was very professional n unreadable.even said...pls call tbe next petson in.meaning no deliberation will b done abt me.dunno if tht is gud or bad.pls hr peeps hlp decode.
The thing tire me sef. Till now I have no idea what was going on in the dominant one’s mind grin grin. The poker face game was strong.

I strongly hope they consult with each-other for the final score but with the situation and the speed of “That is all”. There could only be two possible scenarios.

1) Anyone of them could edit the score slots while the other saw it on their laptop OR
2) Each had different platforms to input scores based on individual judgment, then there is some sort of average.

The first seems more likely.

9. Formula Used: An aggregate of your exam score and interview score divided by 2.. Let me explain (Exam score is 100%, Interview grading is also 100%- if you score 80 + 50, that gives you 65% which is quite poor else you are from the less privileged states)

Kindly Note: Those folks that interviewed candidates were playing mind games, they were looking for the slightest reason to mark you down, and like I mentioned earlier, their friendly appearances and warm smiles don't mean they scored you well. Answering all questions correctly means little too. The following things counted;
a. Your presentation skills
b. Problem-solving skill
c. and your facial appeal.

Most HRs act based on emotions and what they see.
I must confess the aptitude test felt like a stroll in the park for me; Baba God was over-involved but everyday since then I keep replaying the “video” of my interview in my head (If you watch the TV series “Black Mirror”; you would know what I am talking about lol).

I had two interviewers, one was on the dominant side asking the questions while the other was a little bit passive. As you guessed I knew the drill, make eye-contact with the Alpha in the room but don’t also ignore the other. I was asked exactly three questions, which I answered to the best of my ability.

At the end of the interview, the Passive interviewer seemed unexpectedly elated about a rather random little detail the person saw on my profile but for the love of me I couldn’t get a read off the dominant interviewer. “Thank you, That is all” the person said. With no facial expression to give me any hint of my perceived performance cry

Which begs my question, regarding our interview score; do the interviewers agree then one of them inputs it or they both input different scores on their laptops (which is then summed up).

Guy please what do you think.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Pwc Nigeria Graduate Recruitment 2018 by Harddiskng(m): 3:53pm On Jun 13, 2018
sheke01:
I didn't want to post this because of personal reasons but on a second thought I think I owe it to posterity to do this because I gained a lot from 2016, 2017 threads and other nairaland threads that I've been following.
I had my pwc interview on friday but before I go into details let me talk about my experience so far. For OPQ, consistency is all they want. Even if u are choosing all the "negative" traits, just be consistent with them. Or better still visit 2017 thread from page 50-65, LaRochelle and her gang laid down some pretty nice traits they were consistent with. You can stick to those traits and be consistent with them.
Back to my interview, my team's topic was Tourism and it's importance to Nigerian economy. For the other team that did on the same day, their topic was Child labor and ways to eradicate it. It's best if your team can choose it's presenter, time keeper, coordinator etc before you guys enter the room as this will save time for your team and everyone should try and contribute as the panelists will be seated on the same table with you guys and will be writing something (scoring you guys) as you people are deliberating on the topic. Contributions is more important than being time keeper or coordinator.
My one on one interview proper: I was really drilled. No amount of preparation would have prepared me enough for what I went through on friday. I spent closed to an hour and I was asked more than 20 questions. Being truthful is the way forward or if u can construct your response beforehand, good for you. But one thing I learnt from the interview is that you can not prepare enough and you can't plan for every possible situation based questions.
The questions I was asked is as follows:
If given a 2nd chance at the group presentation what will I do differently
Tell us about yourself
Tell us about a time you showcased a skill i mentioned in the "tell us about yourself response"
What do you know about pwc
What do you know about pwc Nigeria
Tell us about a time you showcased your communication skills
How do you stay updated with current news
Tell us about a time you had a conflict with people in my previous place of work
Don't I think I took the conflict too far?
Tell us about about time you learnt something about a new environment
Tell us about a time you interacted with people outside your immediate circle (people you are not familiar with), and your contribution to the interaction
Tell us a time you convinced someone to accept my own idea
Do I know what services pwc offer
Do I know what auditors do
What's your career goal
Do I think engineering has prepared me to be an auditor
Which department did you apply to
Why did you apply to audit
The department my favourite pwc partner works in (because I mentioned a partner as my favourite in one of our discussions)
Do u have a mentor, if yes what impact has he made to your career choice
Tell us about a recent financial news and it's effect on the economy
I was finally asked to ask them a question, which I did
There are still some that I cannot remember and only the first 6 questions are in the order that I was asked

N/B: Please go with your credentials if you can, because some of us were asked for them as they were having problems finding our credentials

The panelists were really nice. I was given a bottle of water and I drank more than half of it. I was even asked to go with the rest

In in all, do your best and hope for the best

This is quite easy to understand. Let me use this example. Lets say 25 geologist are needed in this particular (DPR 2016) recruitment. Now there are specific number of applicants needed per zone. That means the 25 would be shared among the 6 geopolitical zones.

The best applicants from each state will have to compete for positions slotted for their geopolitical zones (this was clearly explained in FCC site). Now for example the Southeast have only 5 slot out of the 25 geology slots. Now the best five is taken making sure that each state (Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo) makes that final list. This is also applied across other zones.

So after we scaled our state, we have to compete for positions on a zonal level and each state in that zone must all be represented.

The selection is rigorous and it will not be easy for those in charge of that. And it is very COMPETITIVE. Just the very best makes it at last.
Much better.

Brothers & Sisters! If you were thinking my analysis makes the odds very slim, this makes the odds slimest*

This is competition at its peak cheesy

*Modified*

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: If Nairaland Dpr applicants are a small subset of the total population (3,000), it is not impossible that no Nairaland Dpr applicant would be called but with God all things are possible.

i like ur analysis but u got it wrong in some places.
assuming d least slot for any state is 5. all first 5 in each state r picked. then some post will be vacant. if lagos and gombe(just assuming) slot is 5 , dat is all for them. those vacant post will b filled by the next minimum across other states. lets say d next minimum is 8. other post will b filled by d next 3 rank across all states with 8 and above slots. the process goes to d next minimum, and so on until all quota are satisfied. i hope u can make sense of this.
I understand you. Based on your explanation it kinda boils down to my point; no automatic ticket is guaranteed based on being the only person interviewed for a particular role in a particular state except if that person is among the top 5 (or the maximum number of slots available for that state).

Choi, na God hand the matter dey now.

makonko:
I think he's in an unopposed position
If this is the case, then it gets a bit confusing. There were 18 roles advertised for GT. Allocating at-least a slot for each role (18) in each state (36) would amount to 648 people. That is definitely not going to happen.

Assuming each state is to be equally represented, all things being perfect and equal; 300 GTs are to be employed thats roughly 8 people per state.

Meaning 10 roles won’t be filled for Lagos. What if he is not even in the top 17 in terms of overall scores representing each role for Lagos indigenes. How do they determine who and who gets dropped. (my statistician brother no vex, you go collect APL; I just dey try understand).

From where i stand, even with the administration of standardized tests; this Federal Character tingy has created too much unnecessary room for chance and wastage of talent angry or is there something I am missing.

all i know is dat i am d only one from my state. LAGOS
The only Lagos indigene interviewed for GT-Statistician role you mean.

Based on the Federal Character; you are still competing with people from your state (Lagos) for number of slots made available to Lagos state right. Somebody please clarify.

ApostleLucifer:
Let's sum up this useless thread by saying shugavee is a worthless, gold-digging, hungry, cheap, overused feminist thot with absolutely nothing to offer except her vagina.

If not, why is **his** money her primary concern in a relationship? Answer: Because she lacks it and needs it and the only way she can get it is through sex. Not brains or work - sex.

This is logic. It's not complicated neither is this an insult.

According to her, there is nothing more important to her in a relationship than the money she gets from the man. That makes her a hoe - simple.

Now understand the hypocrisy behind her feminism (according to her)
1. She doesn't need a man in her life; she's self made.
2. She cannot date a broke man.

Logic begs this question;
1. If you're self made and a feminist, why do you need a man at all?
Some people’s perception of love is so faulty nowadays. Even when they make head way in life, their mindset had already been altered by poverty.

It is so disheartening, one is at all loss about how to help them. Worst part is that they have developed a thick skin for perfect wisdom cry

I had a hard time following your narrative because of the lack of proper punctuation marks that pushed your presentation to the edge of incoherence.

A rude lady does not represent the entire feminine gender, and how you managed to link a workplace altercation between two adults to the high rate of divorce in modern Nigerian society baffles me and has left me scratching my head.

your article is a stinky mental fart, fouling up the atmosphere sorrounding logic and commons sense, and leading me to the conclusion that many Nairaland youths are irreedambly puerile and are always quick to write jejune epistles on things they no little about.

Lady. There is alot wrong with your posts apart from the obvious, pride and general lack of grace; double standard, absence of Emotional Intelligence, lack of restrain and faulty communication that resonates gross disregard for self-awareness. If you take care of all that I’m sure you’d have a happy marriage (well, thats if you would like to get married).

Let me tell you a secret, I went through your posts and with a few more clicks; you were surprising easy to find in the “real world” undecided. Anybody with a functional brain holding a grudge and well motivated one, would surely find you. You might want to do something about that.

Always do a simple 30 seconds evaluation before you post stuff online. I’m sure you know that Regular Joes, Strategic employers, Professors, Millionaires, Hackers, Peodophiles and so many other crazy lots you can’t categorize all come to Nairaland to unwind.

Now back to the topic, hmmm.
