My dear, we don't have law. I stay in KZ and i am telling u these guys are not better than us but with d little they have, things are moving very fine for them. have always said it that an average Nigeria knows d problems and solutions to Nigeria's problems but he or she won't do it because of greed
Maobichek:
Do you know the problem with us? Nobody want to take responsibility, tomorrow another person will continue from where PMB stopped and will continue talking about our past leaders. if you catch a thief now, he will remind you of ppl who have stolen in the past but still walking around free. I felt bad that our senator received 20million as covid 19 allowance each, house of Representatives 15 million each but can they give account on how they use the monies on palliative, the answer is "NO." The level of evil in this country is nothing to write home about, politics is now the most lucrative industry in Nigeria.

Every politicians who have served the government had opportunity to turn things around but because of selfish reasons and gains they didn't now they are feeling the heat. As long as we politicize everything and sectors, nothing will work. According to the neo classical scholars, government don't know how to run business and they should be involve in it. They should just make the environment enabling and business will thrive on it own.

Why our politicians always acting like this? Is it our duty or theirs to do what we voted them for? Must we applaud them for everything even if they pay salary on time. When you are talking about international airport, please check Turkey particularly instanbul and see what international airport looks like.

From the campaigns of our leaders,u will know if they will perform or not. Many of them are not even equal to leaders. Some can even be a class captain not to talk of controlling a state. Any leader that doesn't have a track record of success right from the day he or she steps into government office doesn't deem fit to b their. There is not like second chance when it comes to governance. If you can't make tangible change after your first tenure, you won't even make an inch in your last tenure. He that is faithful in little,is also faithful in much.

Religion / Re: BISHOP OYEDEPO: Is CAMA Policy Antichurch? by HeavenlyHolines(m): 6:36am On Aug 25, 2020
For me,the reason why the churches don't want to buy the government idea is because the government themselves are not sincere in any policy. Hadn't been Nigeria is like the UK, USA etc,the churches won't bother because they know where it will end. Also, the government is derailing from what is a priority. What Nigeria needs is different from what they are pursuing.

My dear, when I was gambling then on football or game,I can only die for it when I am the one playing it with my legs but when it comes to online or whatever, count me out. Since online betting came out or money doubling investment, I have never for once engaged in it coz I know how these things roll. Investment is full of risk but let it will calculated n reasonable. Don't try building a castle in the sky.
skayT:
Correct! This has always been my motto. Even low yield investment programs can scam you! Although greed still remains a huge factor of one getting scammed. I thank God my depression didn't lead to committing suicide. I have been scammed on several occasions, even with my street wiseness and experience.

But during the course of that journey, I've learned several lessons. Trust nobody! Always do your due diligence to scrutinize a business/investment opportunity. Don't get involved once you start having your doubts about the business! It's better to lose the opportunity than to lose your money.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: House Please Help Verify If This Interview Invitation Is Legit . by HeavenlyHolines(m): 7:43pm On Aug 23, 2020
Portifar:

Good evening all. I don't work with Elyte but my wife was just invited. I had to search for the company to determine if it's a Scam or legit.
I have taken the pain to go over the thread. I have seen that a lot of pple are calling it s am. I also saw that a lot of pple that called it Scam are young/ new graduate/less than 5yrs experience post NYSC. It's a mixed feeling.
MY TAKE/ ADVICE
Most of those condemning this organisation are young. Let me tell you my story. I have a Master's Degree. Actually my first degree was in the late 90s. I am about 50 years old. My fellow brothers/sisters, please and please and please Entrepreneurship is the way! Honestly, I am regretting not to have been on my own all this while. Look, you must build family business. If at this young age, you take to Entrepreneurship, you will succeed. Forget salary job. Start something on your own. If all what I have read about Elyte is the Truth, I will like to be part. With what I read, they are reorientating pple about Entrepreneurship which is difficult for our so called Youths. Youths will never understand it until later in their lives! Infact for me now, I go to anywhere I hear about Entrepreneurship. I just pray it's not too late!
I learnt people are asked to pay 5k for Training. My people, no knowledge is a waste and investing in oneself does not come cheap! My advice to my young siblings is that they should not look for a 9-5 job. Please get Skill Acquisition. This is my honest advice. I wish I am not busy tomorrow to attend the training. Honestly, it is the best. You see people preaching Entrepreneurship but we don't appreciate them. I am regretting for keeping it late.
As said earlier, I never heard of Elyte before not until my wife was invited.
Elyte, I hope I can be admitted when I am free to attend. Thank you for listening to my advice.

Hahaha ur ex no try oo. Maybe he wasn't seeing ur prospect. Same with me when I travelled. In fact where I was teaching, every student, parent n street around thought I was in Canada. But I know who is who and who was there for me when things were bad. For me,impacting lives positively have been my dream because I have a lot of mentee. I pray God will help us that when God blesses us,we shouldn't concentrate more on our standard of living but our standard of giving. Shalom

Heavenly Holiness, nobody owes me anything except my parents and I sure as hell dont owe anybody anything asides my parents. I remember when I first got to the UK. My facebook started blowing up, people who normally dont give a crap about me started to send me messages, just because they heard I've left Nogeria. Even my ex who treated me very badly started calling to apologise. As for me, I'm not impacting any lifestyle because nobody has impacted mine.

And one bad thing about Nigerians is this get rich syndrome. They can do unlawful things just to amass wealth and the whites is not like that. Once they can work and take care of their immediate needs n family, they r OK. But Nigerians will want to build houses everywhere without impacting on people's lives
Zeecos:

That's just it. Most Nigerians that are complaining that life is hard abroad will rather be there than come back to Nigeria because at least the system works and everything is as it should be even if it is hard to amass riches

Romance / Re: I Felt Cheated By My Girl by HeavenlyHolines(m): 6:53pm On Aug 22, 2020
My dear, the system has really entered the church with the mindset of testing(sex) before trusting (marriage). Sex has a spiritual undertone be it from d devil or from God. For the devil, it's use to destroy mankind when it's premarital or fornication or adultery while on God side,it's to avoid fornication and adultery and that's y u see the rate of immorality is prevalent in our society because of the misuse of sex. A times I do feel for ladies coz they suffer more than guys and there is this beauty or aura when a girl is chaste or pure before marriage although been a virgin is not a recipe for good marriage. Secondary virginity( being born again) is available from those who have lost theirs. I pray God will help us. SaintlyVirgintillmarriage
djon78:

Even among Christian folks many sleep around, talk less of ordinary folks out there.
In fact it's very common
If you say otherwise
People will think you ain't normal

But I know that sex is a very deep thing
And not something to be played or joked with
And God completely frown at it outside marriage
Like Galatians 5 states that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God
And that's the fact
People may think it's a lie

The Bible warns to flee sexual immorality
It's the only sin you do against your body
And it carries grave consequences
And worst eternal damnation

People need to begin to see things
How God sees them
Marriage is an Honourable thing
The bed undefiled
But adulterers and who.re mongers God will judge

Education / Re: 20 Nigerian Students Of Brampton Manor Academy Break Into Best UK Universities by HeavenlyHolines(m): 2:02pm On Aug 22, 2020
My dear,I agree with you. Imagine 7% of the budget to education whereby developed countries r using above 20%. Education anywhere in the world is expensive. A times I do smile when I hear government say education is free. The question is how standard and equipped are this primary n secondary schools? The educational system in Nigeria needs a total overhauling beginning from our curriculum to funding and teachers or lectures. The system have produced a lot quacks who r interested in making money from education. Education is not a sector for generating revenue just like jamb thinks but for research, invention and innovation of other sectors because without education, all other sectors will run at a slow pace
kikero:

We can do better when we are ready to pay the kind of fees Warwick and Cambridge students pay.

A former VC of a university in Nigeria, when he was still in office, gave a speech 2 years ago whose topic was 'University funding'. Among the things he said was this gem...'If you want Cambridge level degrees, better be prepared to pay Cambridge level fees' . The guy also commented that his university (ABU Zaria to be precise) had overhead costs of N50million monthly, yet the government gave them N10 million monthly for overhead.

Everyday, on this site, I keep on seeing people blasting our unviersites for not being in the top 1000 or top 100 globally. Well, with most of them on fees less than $200 a year, and an educaiton budget less than $3 billion (when Harvard has a budget of 48 billion.)..and the aforementioned Cambridge chages over 8000 pounds for international students and uk students (Warwick the same thing)...what do you expect??

You are expecting a 9000 pound level performace from a sum less than 200 pounds. That's not possible.

If you want world class unviersites, either we pay higher fees, or we raise our tax to gdp ratio from 6% to 28% or higher, or we take another loan. Or we cut fuel subsides and redirect the money saved to universites.

With the way people have sex before marriage still baffles me and many people will still be saying I am looking for a virgin as a spouse of which you can't keep yourself before marriage. Is it a sign of love or trust or understanding coz someone who doesn't have self control n discipline before marriage might b expose to danger of adultery in many cases. Love is not sex n sex is not love. As a Christian n counsellor, it has never been a recipe for success in marriage. Stay pure and chaste which is God's plan for us because it has both physical n spiritual blessing. The way u won't want to advise your children in future when they ask u about sex before marriage, please let's uphold the sanctity concerning marriage. I am over 30 years old n still a virgin not that I don't feel d urge but I always put my body under subjection because emotions is stronger than knowledge but knowledge is better than emotions. My brother, I thank you for this sermon. A times we need to learn from unbelievers even cultists go after the lost ones until the person rethink his or her decision to come back and they won't leave the person until he or she returns. But today, we see 'Christians' condemning others 'Christians' of other denominations instead of us to preach and reach them with love and prayers n that's why many don't go to church because our love for God and for the people is declining. Without genuine love, there won't be church

He will just only end up reading what is in paper, commission projects and award contracts same with all other ministers who are not technocrats. Later minister of finance will come and tell us if Nigeria is in recession or not and how Ajaokuta steel plant will be completed in 2023
