You speak some truths but not the whole truth. The choice to apply and pay is voluntary, but when you pay, guess what? You have entered into a contract to be provided the services you paid for. There is no guarantee of the issuance of a visa, but we should be guaranteed a fair and transparent process of adjudication which to me does not exist today. This is far from the truth. Case in point; India is in a similar situation like Nigeria. They interview significantly more people at the consulate on a daily basis especially in the summer months. They know how to do this!

This is not immigration visa. This is clearly a non immigration visa. After doing a thorough check, they are still under no obligation to give you visa because you are a visitor so what do you mean by thorough check? You make it sound like after the thorough check, they are under obligation to give you visa. Not true. So the thorough check is for their advantage and not for your advantage so if anybody is losing by not doing a thorough check, it is not you but themselves since they are under no obligation to grant you entrance. Since we all know this abinitio, you can't say you entered into a contract so they must do a thorough check according to your own standard. Think about it this way. Some houses have gateman, some don't have. If you get to the house with gateman, the gateman may refuse you entrance . You can't complain that why do they have gateman and you can't also blame those without gateman
It is non of your business. So, if USA says they only need 2minutes interview to screen those who will enter their country, it is non of our business. After all, you are only going on a visit. Is it by force to visit? You can't possibly compare it with services. If I pay you to serve me food in a restaurant, you must serve me else I complain. But if I pay you for visa especially a visit visa, I can't complain however you choose to screen your visitor. It is at your discretion cos you and only you bears the consequences. If you allow thieves into your house, you bear the consequences alone .

Bros, don't waste your money. Unless you plan to use a different story, you got a straightforward denial. No two way about it. You are definitely going to waste your money. However, you can get a K1 visa. Your fiancée should know about that. However, if you want to use B1/B2 to visit a so called older fiancee from Nigeria, don't bother. They will deny you.
NB...Let us explain it to you. This visa is meant for visiting. If you call her your fiancee, then you intend to marry. If you are granted the visa, the chances are, once you get there, you can decide to go ahead and marry and not return. So no VO will take that chances with a Nigerian. However, K1 visa is a fiancee visa. Infact, the VO will ask you to apply for fiancee visa. But to be able to do that....1) she must be a citizen 2) must be free to marry 3) you must have met physically in the last two years 4) she must have good income above a specific threshold 5) you must be ready to marry within 90days of arrival.
So, if it is important that you see your fiancée, she will visit you first then file for K1 visa when you are ready to marry. You can however get b1/B2 by not mentioning your fiancée at the interview for a different purpose.

There is nothing Nigerian about this. Doctors have a right to refuse a patient as long as the patient is referred to someone else . You can't tell me that doctor is the only doctor in the whole general hospital. So why are others not attending to her? If after the fight the doctor attended to the baby and the baby dies and the woman start another round of accusation that the doctor killed her baby because they had an argument nko? You seem to assume nigerians only abuse visas to USA. NO,!!! We abuse visa to every country including African country. So even if you apply to other countries they still deny genuine travellers too . And the percentage of people from visa free countries abusing their visas is very very minute otherwise they will stop it with immediate effect. Despite the fact that USA has a visa free pact with European Union, they still require visas from Cyprus and Bulgaria who are members despite repeated protest from EU. And even though it is visa free...you still need to apply online for ETA so they the number of people entering and the numbers going out. Let us stop this idea of nigeria is bad so we must do something illegal in another man's country. Migrate legally. Go to school. Get post study visa. Do something legal for the sake of others coming behind so the world won't quarantine us more than this

If traveling is your dream, you have to invest on it like a project. Before the new Zealand training, go to South Africa or even Dubai like someone suggested. New Zealand will allow you to apply online and then you send your passport to South Africa. Those ones too expect you to have travel history to countries around first. New Zealand is far away from everyone so they suspect any Nigerian going there for things apart from studies. They have a high denial rate for tourist visas from Nigeria. However, they will give you a lengthy reason for denying you so you will know his thinking and they will expect you to upload your bank account online so start building your bank account. For A list countries....Nigerians have spoilt our reputation by abusing visas so you must individually prove yourself to be reliable through travel history and build account. If it is student visas, you have higher success rates without travel history

i think people visiting this thread should understand that even if your intention is your genuine, there is no way the VISA officer will know. All these explanation we are doing is just to let us guess the thinking of the officer not that you will have time to explain anything to them in DETAILS. Even if you answer questions they didn't ask you, it makes you more susceptible to denial. So all your explanations is valid but the visa officer won't ask you all these questions and your interview will be over as soon as it starts

How long have you known him
Who is sponsoring your trip
Why are you visiting?
Are you married?
Have you travelled out of the country before?

Something similar to this and a quick no to the last two questions end the interview believe me

Leave USA alone for now. Think about it? Why would a visa officer want to give you a visit visa to the USA at this time that visa approval success rate is very low. No travel history. You can't even afford the cost of travel...a friend is sponsoring. Why would your friend sponsor your vacation to USA? And you are single? So why won't you run away? Even if it is not America, few embassies will approve visa for someone claiming a friend is sponsoring their holiday trip. If it is student visa it even makes sense but for visiting...Na almost automatic denial. It obviously means you don't even have a real job and the next thing is to go on a visit. Sorry if my language is a bit hard but the reality is you stand no chance but I know some guys here will say na lie. Go try your luck. In that case, I agree with them and wish you best of luck in contributing your visa money to American economy.
NOTE...you have added more information about aromatherapy. Why can't your friend come to Nigeria and train you about aromatherapy? If you have a business you are running why can't you sponsor your own trip? Please note, YOU WONT HAVR TIME TO DO ALL THESE EXPLANATIONS DURING INTERVIEW. The officer will only ask you generic questions like
Are u married
Have you travelled before
Who is sponsoring your trip

And after just these three questions...you are denied without further explanation so don't assume you will have time to start explaining why it is your friend sponsoring the trip

I planned spending not more than a week as my business is highly demanding. I planned getting a landed property soon for personal reasons. My monthly average is 180k. What are my chances please. Moreso, this same demanding business was there when you wanted to go and study last year and you were denied twice. Assuming the business is highly demanding, why would you abadon it for years of study? So, if you could abadon the business for studies in USA last year, how do you want to prove that you won't abadon same business this year if given a visa? Moreso, your wife is already in USA. So you want to go and join her and continue with the family hussle? If you no get another story apart from this one, don't waste your money. No VO will be convinced

No further questions where asked about his salary etc.

Kindly advice on what he can do better as he is going for another one.

Note the conference is and oil and gas conference which he is a member of the association.

whaoh. How do you guys get interview date within one week. If he was denied last week and he already got a new interview date again . The profile is okay as far as I can see. Something hidden somewhere. Your husband over stayed any of the visa? Has been denied USA visa before? The conference has no bearing on work? If it is self sponsored, is he on leave or what? Why take a break from work for a self sponsored conference that has no bearing on work? I don't know o but his profile appears strong. However, getting a reversal within one week is unlikely. Why is the conference so important he must attend that you are applying within one week? Has he paid so much for the conference? It is not like he is going for masters that resumption date is so close hence need to reapply. The fact that he is reapplying in a week may mean the ECO is right. This may be more than a conference....by and large, we should stop wasting money on American visa. The denial rate is too high. Unless it is extremely important, go else where for vacation till our image is better

Not at all bros. Unfortunately, if you ask 10 people their choice too , eight of them will say America is their choice. Since they can't accommodate everyone and since on a chance of probability, almost 30 percent of people on tourist visa will try to game the system and not return, they have no choice than to allow people with reasonable chance of returning. Between you and I, you know deep down that the only reason your mum is sending you on vacation to America is not just for fun...it is to prepare ground for your eventual immigration. But imagine if you are earning say 500k in Nigeria. It is not much but unless you get a good offer in America you won't just run away like that without thinking twice. Also, imagine if you have travelled to UK you didn't run away. You went to Germany you didn't run away...while it is not foolproof, at least you are not absolutely desperate else you would have abused the visa. So it is not fair that the VO will say why America first. But in your case... it is a very relevant question. Your mum may not want to waste money to send you to Mauritius cos you know it is a dead end but if you go....it means you really want to vacate and not to run away. That is the way it works. If you really want to go on vacation and the money is available truly for fun, if they deny you American visa, you go to Seychelles island. Going back to reapply immediately especially when you know nobody in America shows the intention is not vacation. So take the advice and go elsewhere first.

And my school took us for excursion in Ghana.

you really assumed a Yes answer to this question would work in your favour. Either way, it won't. If you answered no as a student, why would you want to vacate in America without knowing anybody there and it is your very first vacation? You will spend thousands of dollars as a student just to go and sightsee alone America when you are not working and it is not as if you are going to visit someone that is close to you. On the other hand, if you say yes, the VO may also assume the person will help you to stay illegally since the person knows about the system and you have nothing to lose...you can abadon your studies and start afresh. If God help you and the person also got to America first with a visit visa before changing status, na automatic denial. Bottom line, the answer to that question will not change the outcome whichever way you answered it. You have no ties. No job, no wife, no family yet you are going on vacation in far away America as a student .
Start small...and build it up. If vacation is really your aim, start with Mauritius, South Africa, Kenya. Even if you also plan to elope which is not advisable, there is still no short cut given your circumstances. Don't waste your money to reapply soon without travelling elsewhere first. You will likely be denied again.

You get plenty red flag. First time leave na straight to America. I know you will say why not but I am just telling you the way the VO reason. You no go Kenya, you no go Dubai, you no go OBUDU RESORT, na America straight. Most VO's won't be convinced.
Moreso, you are married and you are travelling alone. Meaning money may be the problem. Most VO's believe for a family man, vacation is better spent as a family. Now your very first vacation in a long time, you are supposed to take your wife and kid to OBUDU or Ghana for a memorable holiday but you prefer to spend it in America. Only God knows when next they will give you leave at work meaning your innocent wife will still be denied quality time with hubby for a long time simply because hubby want to go to America.
Sorry, I am not convinced thus time you are not trying to JAPA....you may apply another time

NB....let me be serious here. The moment you tell the VO you are married, he will want to know why you are not travelling with hubby. If you say she no get leave, he will just pass and deny you . Quote me for that. And even if you go with them, he will ask wether you have travelled together as a family before. If you say no, he will in 90percent of the cases deny you. Meaning....take them to South Africa first so that we know you are genuine tourist. Nevertheless, I am not a VO and people in your shoes have been granted visa before although ninety percent of people in your shoes will be denied. Go with plenty of luck.

Ladies and gentlemen...I was in Russia for the world cup. It was so fantastic. I am also going with the supporters club to China with my entire family. Truth be told....I haven't been following basketball. I don't know wether this will be at least half as interesting as the football world cup. I am looking forward to it.
