PallyG:.............but were intercepted and that on sighting the police, engaged them in a cross fire and that in return three of the robbers were shot dead. The above statement is common in every police report involving robbery. Armed robbers are always the first to shoot |

Let him go back to his field of engineering, we have enough capable hands who can handle the portfolio. This is number one problem facing Nigeria, square peg should be put in square hole, Education sector/ Teaching is NOT a dumping ground. |
TANTUMERGO007:This is not witch hunting, this is one of the many state properties fraudulently acquired by SARAKI. The chalet was built from the state purse, next time don't meddle in an affair that doesn't concern u |
I'm not happy with GBEMI SARAKI making the list, Her family pedigree is Egba, Ogun State and Not Kwara, we are saying no to dynasty |

Politicians also contribute to the problems facing education sector. The system needs total overhauling; especially the mode of entry, many of those who were recruited don't have passion for the profession, they see it as a stepping stone, the saying that " everybody can teach" Should be removed. Recruitment should base on merit and not through godfatherism, and those who do not have interest or major in education should be shown the way out. Teaching should be fully professionalized like medicine and law with good remuneration; this will curb the mass exodus of people from the profession. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION should be abolished, do we have PGD in Medicine, Law and engineering? Teaching should not be made a dumping ground. In Kwara State, HND teachers earn better than B.Ed holders even with the TRCN, I'm a living witness |
Breaking :: School Principal in Kwara State Order her Daughter to assault a Teacher in the School ASSAULT ON THE STAFF OF GOVT HIGH SCHOOL, AROMARADU ILORIN.* *AJIA RISKAT ABDULLAH, GHS JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL'S PRINCIPAL CALLS HER DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL TO BEAT ONE OF HER STAFF* Government High School junior secondary school section's principal called her daughter to the school premises to beat one of her staff called Mrs Baba fila. She did this on ground that the staff in question owed her money. She claimed to sell a Cloth (JALABIA) to her over long period of time but refused to pay after receiving her salary. For this reason, she invited her daughter to the school premises to beat the staff in question at Home Economics Department, knowned as Mrs Baba Fila. The daughter of the principal done justice to what her mother invited her to do by beating the staff thoroughly. The question is that is it allow for the head teacher to turn the school to a market where cloths and other materials are selling? What gut does she has to invite her daughter or anybody to the school premises to beating staff. This is disgusting and abusing of power. This is among the atrocities that this woman has been committed. This woman needs to be caution before she completely destroy this long age school with good reputations. As matter of urgency, government needs to intervene to bring sanity to the school. *Penned by:* *Concerned Teacher |
[quote author=SLAP44 post=80337800]Aare ona kakanfo afonja was in charge of kwara[/quo A blatant lie. Y didn't he (Afonja) face the battle alone? Y did he requested the services of Sheik Alimi? |
SLAP44:When was Afonja in charge of the city of Ilorin? |
Date: 2019-07-16 Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, residents of Ilorin city and Kwara state as a whole. I know people who drive their cars or walk on the sidewalks will read my piece on the commercial motorcycle operators, (AKA Okada) menace and nod their heads in experienced agreement. We the Ilorin residents have had the misfortune of seeing reckless Okada riders take over our roads in a Gengis Khan horde type approach. I decided to put up this write up so that the concerned authority would do the needful to stem the tide of this nasty influx. To start with, let's all look at the number of unions and meeting point that these Okada riders have in our areas, we would see that they are multiplying in an exponential manner, than dare I say, "Pentecostal" churches these days. On my residential street alone, which is about 400 meters long we have three separate unions and garages of Okada riders. The unions comprise of at least 70 riders each, you do the math. It a clear case of over-saturation on a road not longer than 400 meters. Secondly, has anyone noticed the age bracket of a majority of the Okada riders in Ilorin? Most of them are in the age demographics of between 14 to 18 years old. These teenagers are completely impervious to danger. They do not have any responsibilities than to feed, use drugs and clothe themselves. I know you would tell me the economy is bad that is what leads to Okada riders. These teenage riders that should be in school, have no wives and children, mostly no aged family to cater for either. Try talking to them, mostly the really young ones don't understand any language spoken to them, sometimes they don't even understand Hausa which they claim they are. I suspect that some of them are not even from Nigeria. If you get the opportunity to look into the face of any of them, if by chance they remove their dark glasses or crash helmet with tinted shades, you will see a codeine doped and drugged set of eyes, bloodshot most of the time. Their lips would be totally dark from smoking various smokables and they generally exhibit characters of a drug addict. In addition to the above, take a gander at their official government-issued, blue reflective jackets. Most markings on them are faded and they have now designed their own jackets, most of the Okada riders have abandoned the official jackets for the fake cheap ones. You will never be able to read what numbers or markings they have on their jackets for later recognition, should a crime be perpetuated riding an Okada using that jacket. In conclusion, do we really need to talk about their riding skills in traffic? Do they know road signs, do they know anything about traffic laws? Whichever way, they are on their right, driving against traffic, making a u-turn in front of an oncoming vehicle without looking back or using/having a rearview mirror and overtaking from the right-hand side is all typical of the Okada rider. Almost every car owner in Ilorin has had a "brush" with these Okada riders. The immediate past administration, led by Alh. Abdulfatah Ahmed promulgated a law to curb the menace. However, the governor did not have the political will to go through with the law. I pray the new Governor takes it upon himself to help Ilorin out of this horrible menace. However, I am aware of the huge role the Okada riders played in the "Otoge" movement. Let us hope his Excellency, Mal. Abdulrazak Abdulrahaman will have the political will to face this menace squarely. This is his Excellency's first year, this is the best time to do this cleanup. After the second year, he probably would have re-election on his mind, thus regulating such a huge voting block as the Okada riders then, would be a big no-go area. |
Offpoint:Employer or employee? |
Perhaps, she had no boyfriend because of her beauty - nobody disturbed her. Unlike some of them who "minored" in various departments |
The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Kwara State chapter, has called on the state government to prevail on the management of all public schools to allow pupils of different religious backgrounds to observe morning assembly prayers according to the dictates of their faith. The society said the call was necessary to forestall a breakdown of law and order in public schools. The MSSN call came in the wake of a recent incident at Bishop Smith College in Ilorin, capital of the state, in which the schools Imam was allegedly molested by some members of the schools staff when he attempted to pray in the Islamic way, immediately after the Christian prayers were said at the schools assembly ground. The incident, according to a statement signed by the MSSN Chairman, Nurudeen Ibrahim, occurred on Friday, June 21, 2019. "The Muslim-dominated city of Ilorin is one of the most peaceful cities in Nigeria. Muslims in Ilorin are accommodating and tolerant. But our tolerance and peace-loving nature is exploited as a basis for the desecration and infringement of our rights. "Thus, we received the above devastating news with a mix of umbrage and shock. We state that forceful proselytisation of students and assault on Muslims in a public academic institution is not only condemnable and below the minimum standards of tolerance or civility expected in a democratic society, but it is also a violation of the fundamental human rights. It is equally a violation of Section 38 the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999." |
