What is hot here please? |
Journalists should refrain from intrusion into people's privacy. |
I urge us to be very cautious with disseminating unverified sensitive information. We might be tempted to, sometimes think, that we are anonymous but the truth is, nobody is. The device you are using has an IP address, which makes it easier to identify your exact location So, before posting certain articles, always consider that, you may be asked to " explain all you know". |
The gruesome murder of Chief Gani Fawehinmi should be thoroughly investigated. |
This is a thought - provoking submission. |
There is more to this Boko Haram than we already know. The most confusing thing about this terrorist group is that, they are mainly northerners, and so are their victims. However, I suspect that, this is the reason Nigeria is still a nation. Just imagine Boko Haram attacking only other parts of the country. |
False generalisation |
Thanks for this useful information |
There is something missing in this story. How did the bank get the corper's contact? How was he identified? I know the workings of the ATM camera and it shows only the face. Most times, we ask the complainant to identify the fraudster's face. |
Agrika:Occultic is not an English word please. |
Nice one |
Mourinho has good sense of humour. He has a way of making people laugh so loud. |
babasanti:On a lighter note, I think Chelsea wants to get a new captain for their team B. So, Ivanovic will become the captain for team A while the other dude captains team B until he learns how to play football. Please it's a joke oh |
adonbilivit:I agree with your username about this message. |
Empress2014:This is a classic response. |
I want to believe that the presumed threat was a joke or the organization was impersonated. But if it actually emanated from NDA, then it's just a storm in a teacup. Musicians and movie actors are allowed to be decorated in the country's military uniform. Decoration here implies both in clothing and arms. In several Hollywood and Nollywood movies, different kinds of military camouflage and guns were used and it is not a violation of any law provided it was done to project a positive image of the military formation in particular and the nation in general. However, depending on the context and the extent and sensitivity of some arms, the permission of the military formation is usually sought. |
Eddodoh:Chief among the many reasons for consideration when looking the work experience section of your CV is to see how your career background is helpful to the vacant position. Looking at your job experience here, one thing I must tell you is no knowledge or work experience is a waste. In fact, both positions should have prepared you adequately to become a good people manager and ability to manage stress and conflict. Please include all your job experiences but make sure it relates to the vacant position. More so, considering HRM as a career is wonderful but it's just as fabulous as any other career path. My advice for anybody is to seek a career that you love irrespective of what course you studied in college/university. Most prolific journalists never had a degree in mass communication. The best actors in nollywood never had a degree in theatre arts etc. With your CV, you can easily be considered in so many jobs. |
Personally, I think we should just believe that there is a supreme power that created us and everything around us. Trying to understand the bible can be so frustrating because the bible itself has so many contradictions. This is why I feel sorry for Christians who castigates other religions. There is hardly any way of life that is not permitted by the bible. I recently discovered that the bible instructed Christians to kill (utterly destroy) anybody who doesn't believe and worship God....Exodus. 22:20 There is no scripture in the bible that specifically tells exactly what year Jesus will come again or when the world will be destroyed. The best advice is for us to do what is good to others and shun evil. |
mikkypel:I appreciate your quest for knowledge and I must confess that the inscription on your friend's phone is a valid enquiry. I have responded to this question by another fellow. Let me remind you that the experience we require is mostly the "practical knowledge " and it requires your engagement in your field either by employment or voluntary services. One of the major reasons for experience is in the area of sound decision making and this encompasses good judgment, Conflict resolution and people management. In any organisation, every employee is a decision maker and a single decision by any employee can kill an organization. It is better for us to train our new hires on the job when they are already experienced in the aforementioned areas. If you have observed, the reasoning of some "graduates" and their responses to either criticisms or opinions here on nairaland vindicates this minimum requirement. More so, if you have been a course representative, an association leader/executive, completed your industrial training and or NYSC without experience, then you may have neglected their usefulness and aim. |
joshrare:Thank you for asking these salient questions and I know that you just stated the position of so many job seekers especially fresh graduates who have become despondent based these requirements. When we ask for or want to know how experienced you are for certain jobs, it is simply expecting to hear your "practical knowledge" required to handle the vacant position. This is because the theories in schools were tailored on the assumption of ceteris paribus (all things being equal) and all things can't be equal. However, I want to inform you that experience requirements is dependent on the particular job. I will take you through two examples here and they are management and engineering jobs. Management jobs here refers to non - engineering jobs. It is also important to understand that all jobs requires some level of people and resources management. Opportunities to gain experience starts with extracurricular activities in schools but often times we ignore them. School association leaders are expected to have gained enormous experience in people management. An engineering student should also utilize the industrial training opportunities to learn more by volunteering to work more than is required. Experience is the summation of all the things learnt from events around you. For those already out of school, I encourage you to do voluntary jobs related to your field if you can't find any job for now. Bovi became a comedian from being an errand boy (PA) to an established star. As a management student, get your NIM. As an engineering student, learn autocad. As an accounting graduate, get your ICAN, ACCA etc. Attend high profile seminars. Our preference for all these professional certifications is because they are more practical and technical oriented as against a masters degree which is just a continuation of the same theory. The difference between a B.Sc holder and masters degree holder can hardly be seen. Sometimes the only difference is the paper (certificate). For a fresh graduate, your masters degree is almost not very important. Masters degrees are more valuable when you already have experience. There is almost nothing that a masters degree holder in Business Administration that is strange to a sound B.Sc holder if both of them have no experience. Having said that, a masters degree can gives you greater chances of being shortlisted for interviews than a B.Sc. |
I am particularly impressed with the responses so far. No infantile comments or jejune jokes I think experience is far more advantageous. I am a HR expert and during interviews, our concentration shifts from your paper qualifications to what you "know and what you can offer". Except if all the candidates are inexperienced, you can not be employed ahead of a highly experienced B.Sc holder just because you have a masters degree. If you are just brilliant, even a masters degree won't make you intelligent and so when you meet intelligent panelists, your brilliance may not still help you get the job. Masters in most cases only gives you the advantage of being shortlisted for an interview while your intelligence and Know - how gives you the job. So, I will advice you strive to acquire experience anyhow you can and also get a professional certification. These two gives you immediate advantage. |
Nice one |
NASA is so mendacious and fake. |
Those who criticised him should first go and tell their fellow Americans to stop wearing oversized trousers because it's both disgusting and obsolete. They should be careful not to interfere or intend to compel others to conform to their stupid, barbaric and immoral lifestyle. Why did John Kerry not wear Agbada when he visited our president? |
demmy0325:Please can you mention one rich Nigerian with "clean money"? Dangote connived with the government to kill other businesses in order to have monopoly. How is that better than ritualist? In fact, the government made only him the sole importer of certain products and banned the importation of all products that he produces. Please mention that one rich Nigerian you know that has clean money. The almost clean money I can think of is football but which rich Nigerian footballer hasn't committed the evil of age cheating (which makes the money dirty)? |
The Niger Delta militants are more deadly than Boko Haram and I think we need to be careful because in the event of revolt against the nation state, the economy will be grounded. |
This statement is even worst than the first. In psychology, unspoken words are more powerful than spoken words. As a psychologist, he has reiterated that it's only the constitutional provisions that will restrict him ffrom punishing those who voted against him. What this means is he will never extend any goodwill except that which he is bound to by the constitution. It is a slap on his intelligence. An intelligent president could have probably have this in mind but will never regurgitate this to the whole world. |
The kind of journalists we have these days are just a bunch of disgrace to the noble profession of journalism. More so, the manner at which the masses digests and believe every article without asking salient questions is deplorable. Since both of them died, the journalist should have been intelligent enough to tell us who told him/her what transpired. Was there a recorder? Was there any spectator? The biggest insult is wanting an intelligent audience to believe in an unintelligible report. Presenting such foolery in itself makes the journalist's certificate questionable. |
pauloookay:I almost didn't want to comment on this post for lack of words but your response was on point and factual too. Your generalisation might appear like an affront to women especially the few exceptions but you are very correct in my view. As a woman, it is easier for me to blame the adulterous man on the basis of sentiments but in all sincerity, Oluchi is a DEVIL I'm just speechless. Our society has less moral values and it's fast going south. I have been thinking which planet both the woman and Akwusi came from. What an effrontery from a friend who should be ashamed, telling his friend to accept his fate. |
It is an unfortunate reality that our president actually let out these words from his mouth. Until this statement, I have respected his intelligence in responding to deciding situations. A leader is feared by unspoken words but this regrettable statements will certainly renew agitations from different parts of the Nigerian state. |
When I read vague articles like this one, I am always careful to make conclusions because fake journalists are everywhere seeking cheap popularity just as bloggers intends to drive traffic to their website. Orders from Abuja...........which part of Abuja and by who? The president Buhari I know will never give such orders. But reading the article, it indirectly points towards the person of Buhari and that makes it mischievous. Madam patience remains a VIP in this country until her last day on earth. |
mryoungdon:When I got this "shut up" from you, I decided to view both your profile and your activities. I read your infantile reactions to people and you confessed that you were banned recently. That was when I became sympathetic towards you. However, I think the punitive temporary ostracision from nairaland should have made you remorseful for the intended sober reflection instead of being recalcitrant. Your are the first to insult me on this forum but I think I am not surprised. |
