DirectReporter: I want to sell this Toyota Camry for 800,000 naira. My bro sent it from Australia
Toyota Camry Automatic Mileage: 150,000 KM V6 Engine
You can contact me on WhatsApp . 0.9.0.2.1.4.2.9.6.5.6 You need to clean the air bro.. Australia cars don’t have the same hand as us. So maybe your brother in Australia bought the car from America or Canada and have it shipped to Nigeria and if that’s the case I guess the car wasn’t properly cleared because of the selling price |

weyreypey: She needs to open the oil sump. Check the oil pump strainer... VW and Audi's are notorious for the oil strainer sludge. Especially where less quality oils have been used. So a cleaning of the oil strainer, an engine flush and a refill with the right oil specs. Please what kind of engine flush would you recommend in Nigeria market ? |

Have you try buying a new battery ??
Similar thing happened to me once the remote wasn’t locking the car and I used the manual ish car started and drove fine. Next morning car won’t start, battery still very much green so I got someone to help me jump start... problem Persist until I changed my battery....
Since you budget 100k to get the problem solved start from buying a good battery, it is not a waste just to rule out the battery before spending money |

Car Talk › Re: Dearth Of Good Auto Mechanics In Port Harcourt by homeboy205: 8:36am On Jan 03, 2019 |
Na so broda make he just open shop, and have one mechanic by side na you be the first Auto technician for PH from there you go buy other tools captainking: hi cartalk family..
i have been in ph for bout 7 months now and i realise most of the mechanics here do not have technical knowledge of cars..they only know how to loose one part, change the part, test, etc without proper use of scan tools and wide understanding of live data etc..
I am saying this because i have seen lots of mechanics or kazeems fix cars without success but with the use of my pocket scan tool, i have been able to help lots of ph residents fix simple issues to their cars by scanning the car for codes, looking it up online, print it for them and tell them to tell their mechanics where to look at in the car...and wahlaaa...its fixed...like magic....all cos i have a pocket scan tool and i am no mecho..
Gurus in the house..especially those that live in port harcourt..do you know any good mechanic in port harcourt who understands the technical parts of fixing cars? who can interprete live data and can successfully explain to the layman what STFT and LTFT is..(cos most mechos here dont even know what these are)..
Do you know any mecho in ph who is close to being as good as gazzuzz, mayor2013, autologic, oluwaseun, cardoctor and other car gurus here on nairaland?? please kindly refer by dropping their contacts here...a pool of potential clients awaits them...
The car gurus here please share contacts of your auto mecho aquaintances that reside in ph..
I believe we could be helping lots of ph residents..
Thank you nurey: so you can't open shop and cash in. You are one of the problems of Nigeria.
Problem: dearth of knowledgeable auto technicians in portharcourt
Issue: Due to insufficient education and low financial capability to afford quality tools for the diagnosing and fixing of vehicles in portharcourt
solution: Open a shop and partner with locals in offering the services hence creating a niche of solving a problem and financial gains. Jobs created and knowledge transfer
start thinking like an entrepreneur and stop complaining |
Car Talk › Re: Help Please!!!!! Toyota Camry Short Oil. by homeboy205: 8:31am On Jan 03, 2019 |
I’d like op to just look into this fix and give it a try since it’s cheap homeboy205: PLEAEE HOLD ON AND READ THIS BEFORE THINKING ABOUT RINGING
Do you know 2AZ-FE has something called PCV(Positive ventilation Valve) on the engine cover that draw out unused pressure caused by oil pump in the engine The pressure is transferred to your intake box and contribute to air and fuel mixture in other to attain optimal performance...
This is the case
It is really a cheap fix... Note: the valve will always go faulty in two ways. It might be faulty in open loop, or faulty in close loop... if faulty in open loop it will allows oil from your engine to escape through the valve to the intake box whereas it burnt off as air and fuel mixture in the combustion.. If faulty in closed loop it will throw a misfire error code but in your case let’s assume it’s faulty in open loop...
This has happened to my Toyota Camry 2002 2AZ-FE before and I fixed it myself, it was faulty in open loop and I was losing oil no leak but I was sure it was not my piston ring cos I just had it rebuilt 2 months prior. On checking it the spring in the valve has broken so oil is always sucked from there. I just went to Gate spare part and bought another for #1000... 22’ Ring spanner that needed in losing it... came home and fixed it myself.. voila it fixes no more oil shortage.
The valve is at the back of the engine on the engine cover there is a hose that go all the way to your intake on top....
Please and please give this a try before thinking about anything it’s a really cheap fix |
Car Talk › Re: Help Please!!!!! Toyota Camry Short Oil. by homeboy205: 5:18pm On Jan 02, 2019 |
mayor2013: This is not a PCV valve case Well it’s a cheap fix and it worth trying Well it’s a cheap fix and it worth trying since there is no physical leaks under the hood, and the car is not smoking and the interval which oil gets to low mark, that means the oil is escaping bit by bit and burning off in the combustion... If it is piston ring, he will surely notice the smoke because it will burning off instantly in the combustion... |
