I drive a corolla 2009, the would not go in reverse when I engage it. But drive well when in Drive D.
I checked the transmission oil, there was a little shortage and I topped it yet same problem lingered.
Please I need advice on possible cause and solution so as to be informed when engaging the technician.
Information like what he possibly need to look out for.

Maybe the gear filter is dirty. Have your Kazeem open the gear and wash the filter

Hello nairalanders, Nigerian mechanics have almost sent me to village, I just changed my engine, got a Tokumbo engine and it's idle revs is way below 2 like in the image uploaded and it doesn't make the AC blow cold and it also make the car vibrate but when I rev it up to let's say 800, 900 or 1000 the car stops vibrating and if I turn on the AC, it blows cold, even while driving if I rev it and it goes down to normal the AC won't blow cold and sometimes it makes the car temperature rise, I will love any advice from anybody.

Try cleaning your throttle body it control the idle speed.

How much did you get the engine?

I have portable scanner I can scan for you and recommend who to fix

Best advise, continue using the knocking engine and save the 80k... Go and buy direct 2AZ engine borale(incomplete engine) it goes for nothing less than 230k cos the ring will fail and the complete goes for 260-270

Thank you all for your valuable advice. @ Ise 82, he said he is changing out the compression and oil rings, grinding the valves, replace metal and ring bearings, get a new engine oil etc etc plus workmanship. I still feel uncomfortable about the whole cost anyway.
What i fear is he may not refund the balance out of honesty even if I decide to play along with him and on the other hand the inconveniences my family is passing through is untold.

Remove the socket from the plug and find an office pin, pop out that green rubber left at the tip you should be able to join the wire somehow

Firstly you should have scanned the car cos the first one might bring a solid code and the rest will be pending.. what I’m trying to say is that once one coil gives up, just change it all because there is a chance the rest might go bad soon which happened to you. So if you had scanned the car you will get a solid code for the first misfire and the rest pending so you would have changed all at once and save yourself this stress of changing it one by one... Try scanning the car

Good day. My lexus rx 330 had an over-heat last 3weeks, i took it to the auto workshop the found out that one of the fans isnt good hence causing the over heat as well as damaging a water hose/pipe. 2 weeks after all this ve been changed and fixed the car was up and runing again, i realised that the car miss-fires. I took it back to the auto work shop the discovered that one of the coils is not functional and it was changed and all was fine. Few days later same thing happend, another coil dead!! And it was changed. Now another coil (3rd) is not working again!!
Pls auto gurus, what might be the cause this? I need an advise. Thanks
