Car Talk › Re: Who Is The Best Car AC Person In Abuja? Too Many Amateurs by homeboy205: 7:14pm On Dec 26, 2020 |
ptoall1000: so the car is 09 corolla, the guy that checked the AC said they hv changed the compressor to Peugeot one and that it has hooked. To replace it with another Peugeot is 15k, but the corrola manual compressor is 60k, while the automatic compressor is 45k. How true sirs and MAs? Firstly out of everyone here, I think Na only Aunty Rad Auto be the only professional “Mam” in this section. Well from what I learnt here, manual compressor is always cheaper than automatic because it’s like bypassing the system. So for him to quote you 45k for automatic and 60k for manual, that means he wan make you buy another automatic after the first one you are going to buy from him fail before making you Go back to Manuel or Peugeot... he just wan milk you. Good God your gut don’t trust him. Wait here for recommendations and don’t go back to him again |

Aanumi16: Oga get your car scanned and post code here for help. A lot of things can make your oil pressure light come up Yes true but if the check engine is not ON prior to this, I’d say it has nothing to do with scanning. @OP, open your bottom tray ASAP and wash the clogged oil pump mesh filter. That is the first cheapest fix |
Car Talk › Re: Who Has Vacuum Pump In Enugu? by homeboy205: 6:58am On Dec 24, 2020 |
chronos00: Lol, have no fear
That little detail he mentioned is a pointer that he may own an older model vehicle, or a non-North American model vehicle.
Many older vehicles used the R12 refrigerant system which was the predecessor of the R134a system in most cars on the roads today. With the R12 system, there's a sight glass in the engine bay connected to the AC hoses that indicates the level of refrigerant present in the system.
The R134A system eliminated the sight glass. Lol you explain it perfectly, I owned a camry |
Car Talk › Re: Who Has Vacuum Pump In Enugu? by homeboy205: 9:27pm On Dec 22, 2020 |
Peppermintflav: Nah.. nothing close to it. There's a machine called vacuum pump. You hook it up to the ac system , plug it in ecectricity and leave it for nothing less than 30mins.it will suck out all the air and moisture in the ac lines and components. You Na OG I swear |
Car Talk › Re: Who Has Vacuum Pump In Enugu? by homeboy205: 4:38pm On Dec 22, 2020 |
Peppermintflav: Vacuuming removes air and moisture from the system. This leaves room for only gas to go round your ac system. This in turn gives better cooling. Besides... air and moisture mixed with gas and oil causes chemical reaction within the system and with time causes damage to the compressor/ the entire ac system.
An ac system done properly without leaks will stay up to a year without topping gas. I remember my sister's 96 Carina e. The car was used for 5years plus, and the ac was never worked on for a day. Boss I was just gonna ask you this oo. Never top up my car ac for 3 years and it’s chilling in hot sun at lowest. From a little glass transparent on the AC line I can see the gas is low. But AC still chill. I wanted to top up but I am staying by the rule, if it’s not broken don’t fix it Please advise |

Peppermintflav: Bros I won't lie, na my boss fill the system. And he has no guage. His system is to fill small check the return. Till the return hose is very cold. But it took a while cos of the big condenser. Once I get my vacuum pump I'm discharging the whole system and I will buy Harp gas or Snow and use my scale to weigh while recharging.
modified Is your pump for sale? What is the best AC gas you’d recommend ?? |

Okoyedavid3: Thanks... Have managed to get some tools like a multimeter checked the ignition coil and discovered one to be bad...of which I replaced, car now running smoothly, I don't feel any usually vibrations or misfire, car revs fine at idle.. But then again after doing 21miles misfire code comes up.... P0300,p0301 and p0305.
Pls what could be the cause of this, kindly assist as I don't like seeing the CEL on. You are having random misfire. Change the PCV valve, that is a cheap fix |
Car Talk › Re: P1656 TOYOTA - Oil Control Valve Circuit Malfunction by homeboy205: 9:40am On Dec 16, 2020 |
ivcraig: I just purchased a Toyota Camry 03 and I noticed, the engine makes a wierd noise sometimes.
The dashboard light indicates "Check".
I scanned the car with an OBDII scanner and it showed this error code: P1656 TOYOTA - Oil Control Valve Circuit Malfunction
I showed a mechanic and he said I will need to change oil pump/filter or so but the error doesn't say that's what's wrong. He said oil is not being supplied appropriately to the engine, so when there's shortage of oil, the engine makes the noise.
Has anyone ever had similar experience?
Kindly assist as I don't like trial and error when fixing cars, because it wastes a lot of money. That code is for a sensor, change the sensor first and see how is goes. If the error is back, CHANGE YOUR MECHANIC Tell the new one to open the bottom tray( cos the right English is engine sump but they will not understand) once they open the bottom tray, have them remove the mesh oil filter and wash it with petrol. DONT ALLOW THEM TO CHANGE THE OIL PUMP. The sensor you are looking for is at the back of the engine around passenger side and right below the top engine cover |

luvinhubby: Just got back to town after being away for 5weeks doing a project in my village and couldn't respond because of poor and erratic data coverage in my hometown. Sincerely appreciate everyone that called and sent chats concerning this to me.
All baby boy 4 cylinder engine use the same gearbox, both America and Europe spec, the only ones different is the UK spec and V6.
If gears have issues after being sold, a trusted rewire is sourced by dealer to rectify it and in the event that it cannot be rectified, a replacement is made upon returning the former gear or a refund if no other one available. Services of reliable gear rewire was turned down twice and gear speed sensors requested by op which was sent to him. Called my attention late August that he wants a replacement and was not ready to return the previous one which is NOT a norm in auto parts transactions globally. Was willing to do that but told the op it can only be done when i am personally around and asked him to call me on the weekend to see if am back. Saw a text from him instead calling me a criminal who intends to defraud him and as matter of principle, i don't respond to offensive communications in transactions.
Will need the op to point out the criminal intent observed by him in all my transactions with him within the next 24hrs, if he does so successfully, i will refund the 85k plus and additional 15k to him and post the transaction details here. If not, i will strictly enforce the market conditions of gear transactions on this transaction. I was expecting an explanation longer than this, but what do I know |

SoadAutos: If you read through all my post with regards this matter....I was very clear about my grievances..... he stopped picking my calls and responding to my SMS. The last time we talked he asked me to call him on a particular weekend earlier this month and I waited patiently till that day and when I called as requested by him he refused to pick. I called at reasonable intervals (considering he may be busy) for 2-3 days and sent SMS and no response. Also while I was calling and he's not picking I ask a friend to call and he picked. I also mentioned earlier that this is not meant to embarrass him but to seek intervention. This is an open space and I believe he will see my submission and if truly your defence of him is real I expect him to do the needful and I will surely come back to this thread to mention this to the whole house. Please stop explaining yourself, and you have the right to call him out. He should come and say something to |
