I may not have a need to call him for business if he did not settle this one... Trust is very key in a relationship. Remember I will send him money before delivery of products and that make me to be at his mercy.
To make the record straight am into Automobile business, I buy servicing parts from him: especially transmission fluid.
What make this whole experience to last this long is because the transmission box that I bought from him is for one of my personal vehicle. You can imagine if this was for a customer of mine, will I be able to wait this long?
You also mentioned the fact that I should wait for him, how can I authenticate his claim that he is busy when 2-5 minutes after he told me he's in the village I ask a friend to call him and he told same he's in the shop and even describing how the friend will get to him.

My Auto geniuses in the house I need your help/advice on my Toyota Corolla 2005. I gave it out for UBER services after pimping and fixing it to UBER standard, last Saturday the driver called that the car was having issues and all what not so I asked him to bring the vehicle back. Car was so much in bad shape from the last time he brought it which I complained bitterly, but that is story for another day. Now the car's battery is dead, he said a mechanic told him the alternator wasn't charging the battery properly( he has never mentioned it to me). So I rented a battery to test the car,it would start and when I engage the gear the car would go off, tried it severally before i let it run for a while and then it moved, but the acceleration wasn't firing, stepping on the pedal flat only pushes the car fast a bit but it would still be as if you are on cruising mode.

Today I got my re-wire guy to correct most of the anomalies other re-wires had done, he fixed the pump filter, and a couple of other fixes but car was still having same stop and start issues but accelerates a bit faster now, he scanned the car with his machine and the code gotten was P0011 which he says it the valve timing which was revving too high in the engine and it has to be adjusted, so I asked him to come along with me to my mechanic so he could explain better to the mech in their own terms.

Got to the mechanic, he checked under the accelerator area,tried to do some adjustment and said it wasn't the valve timing that it was a sensor beneath we had to change that he had tried to adjust the sensor but it's not adjusting and advised we shouldn't even try to open the engine that its the sensor beneath the accelerator area that needs fixing and not the Valve timing.

Rewire guy insists its a valve timing thing and the mech should be able to adjust it,while the mechanic says its a sensor problem and it's the rewire's job. Now I'm in a dilemma. Both Mecho and Rewire are good at their job and been using them for a while but now this problem has got me confused.
Please other mech experts here, what could be the problem?

Do I go with the valve timing adjustment based on the scanner reading or go with the mechanic assertion of the problem being an electrical issue? I checked online and many reason was given, and an oil shortage or bad oil being one of the problems that triggers that code.

Please HELP!!

Like someone said up there, valve timing code doesn’t always means the timing is off and need adjusted. Most time the OCV might be dirty or the OCV filter...

HLO HOUSE... Pls my Camry 2.4 fan belt pulled out and I called my mechanic. After fixing the belt and l starts it. the exhaust manifold became very red like fire and the car was not moving and he said the manifold was blocked. He he losed it and said he want to remove the net in it so I can drive it away from that sport. After fixing the manifold the car still refused to move well. moving slowly. when you starts the car its not firing well and when you engage the gear the engine will do as if it want to off. And I also noticed oil spilling out from the engin. I have problem here. From pulled engine belt to blocked manifold, engine refused to fire well and to oil spillage. PLEASE HELP...! before my trial and error mechanic make someone go MAD. Plsss

Also make sure your battery is disconnected when before starting the job so the car can reset afterwards

I got a new 75Ah battery for my 03/04 Camry few days back and realized that my engine sound goes low when engaged in drive with the AC on. You could only feel air coming from the AC vent without chill except when the car moves, then you can feel the chill.
I took it to my local mechanic and he adjusted something on the accelerator pedal and I could notice the engine sound came up. I became happy and drove off but then, I realized that the engine trips when transmitting between gears.
I went back and he did adjust the acceleration pedal again but this, it went low again.

I feel this is the best he can do as the initial problem has returned. This particular problem started after I changed battery.

Car experts and car owners that has experienced this should please assist with possible solution as I wouldn’t want to gamble between mechanics. I need the engine to return to the usual peaceful rave. Please note that it’s a V6 engine.

Mods please help move this to front page for wider audience and assistance.

You should have done this research first before going to that local quack mechanic...

It’s a simple fix and nothing is meant to be done in the acceleration pedal.

It’s all about your throttle body, I bet it’s too dirty with a lot of build up. That is what cause the low idle after battery change.

You can dIY throttle body cleaning for the year of your car, just watch some videos. But if you can’t, take it back to the mechanic and tell them to clean the throttle body(PLs note: they won’t understand the throttle body English, so just tell them injector mouth)

As for the adjusted throttle pedal, the manufacturer already set that and it’s not meant to be touched.

It’s not a big deal

Try checking the wiring to the air intake, examine it well. Mechanic might have cut a wire to extort you.


It has happened to me before.


Try pulling plugs around the air intake and putting them back. It’s a basic diy to test out yourself

I just discovered that my gear oil is leaking off from the under after firing it somuch trying to get out of a bad spot where the car (Lexus 330) sunk.
I checked to find out the oil has finished n the car couldn't move. Leaking out from a well designed round hole near the gear box that looks like a vent
My mechanic said it a breakage from within n I'm scare n think it could be a seal that went off from that hole.
Please who has a knowledge of this?

Not every mechanic can rebuild an engine.

Changing crankshaft doesn’t mean the person can rebuild because you don’t need to remove the top cylinder before you change crankshaft

Please who has experience this before now. The issue just came up yesterday, I drove for some kilometers and when I breakdown a little to crossover bumps, my vehicle jerk so hard as if I was hit from behind. Got enough fuel on the vehicle.

Get that engine ringed as eriko2k2 opined. Then start using 5w30 oil. Been there, done that.

There's a cheap mobil 5w30 for #5,500 now.

Truth is the piston rings were mostly likely worn at 255,000 miles. Changing oil to 20w50 Visco 2000 made it catastrophic in a relatively short time but you will definitely get your money's worth out of the ringing if done now. Don't waste money on a used engine yet. Your car engine by itself is practically tokunbo.
