The ones that they have, scattered along Lagos Ibadan and Lagos Abeokuta expressways what have they used the money to do? What have they used their IGR to do? No roads, no stable electricity in some regions, healthcare facilities - story. Ogun is the elder brother of Lagos, he also accommodates Nigerians as Lagos do, but the problem with the states is the problem Nigerians are faced with today, bad governance and leaderships without any blueprints on how to move the state forward. No governor comes into the state and follows the line of continuity, look at all the flyovers Amosun left incompleted in the state, most of them remain uncompleted till date. Or is the unity schools which have turned to the den of all kinds of rodents and forage facility for cattle rearers.
OGUN STATE WAKE UP, YOU CAN BE BETTER THAN LAGOS! |

OmoOgunOriginal: Lool. The old man is not wrong. Why should he support someone else from another party based on ethnicity? Not based on ethnicity is simply why should he support his age mate when there are young men out there with lots of ideas on how to rule Nigeria. Emmanuel Macron nor get 10 heads. |

Create jobs for the youths and insecurity won't be an issue. Lagos did that some years with some youth empowerment scheme and they are still doing it till now. Stop coarsing your people into having more churches and fewer industries. |

Sorry, I wanna ask is it like other states don't have the sense or what?
IGR na them, beautifying their state na dem and we hardly hear things like Lagos State workers protesting for unpaid salaries and the likes.
Who are the governors of the other 35 states let's leave FCT out of it cos it's you and I that is beautifying and making FCT what it is like today. Another state most especially Ogun, the state with the worst kinda roads. Not even a single road can be pinpointed in Ogun state. Sango, Lambe, Oke-Aro, Agbado, Akute, Ago Iwoye, Ijebu Igbo, Sagamu name, these are happening in towns of this state that can even compare with Lagos in terms of infrastructure and the likes but the reverse is the case.
Pardon me no beef with the state or her governor but when I keep going and coming back from work every day passing this dangerous-looking road in Oke-Aro, I kept on wondering does this state have a governor? |

Politics › Lagos Generates ₦127 Billion In Q1 2021 by iampeterben(op): 9:06pm On May 20, 2021 |
The Lagos State Government on Thursday said it realised an Internally Generated Revenue of N127 billion in the first quarter of 2021.
The Commissioner for Finance, Rabiu Olowo, made this known in Ikeja during the 2021 Ministerial Press Briefing in Commemoration of the Second Year in Office of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Mr Olowo said the state was able to achieve the feat in spite of the biting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic because it was proactive in preventing and blocking leakages.
”Our revenue trajectory and trend shows that Lagos is very different from others. Few years ago, our monthly IGR was about N800 million, but 15 to 20 years later, we are talking about billions.
”This is not accidental, but as a result of well thought out strategy, partnerships and collaborations with institutions and investments in technology.
”No institution or organisation is immune to economic sabotage and leakages, but we are proactive enough to predict such sharp practices and minimise them.
”We are also leveraging on technology to predict and prevent fraud by digitalising our processes,” he said.
The commissioner said the state’s debt sustainability ratio presently stood at 17.8 per cent, even when regulators said the ratio should be 30 per cent and 40 per cent.
According to him, the sustainability ratio means that the state pays back its loans as and when due.
”Debt is very good, especially for a mega city status that Lagos wants to enjoy. The most important thing is debt management and one of the most respected metrics to measure debt management is the debt sustainability ratio.
”This is to say how much debt do you have and how it compares with the revenue potential, your ability to pay. That is the most important thing for everyone to consider.
“Lagos’ debt sustainability ratio is currently at 17.8 per cent. This tells a lot about our ability to own and manage debts effectively.
”As our revenue grows and we pay our debts, we will continue to take more loans so far they are used to provide capital projects that will ensure the economic success of the people, now and in the future,” he said.
Mr Olowo said the government, through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSTF), had helped over 9,000 businesses in the last 18 months, especially in the aftermath of COVID-19 and #EndSARS protest. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-west/462838-lagos-generates-%E2%82%A6127-billion-in-q1-2021.html
