Christianity Etc › Re: What Does The Bible Say About Sex Before Marriage? by Iamzik: 2:17pm On May 07, 2017
fishbone11:
It is a very complicating situation. The truth is this, 98% of relationships have had premarital sex period.
Let's not deceive ourselves, it is not easy to desist from sex when in a relationship especially with the forces surrounding of society. CAN U BUY A CAR WITHOUT TEST RUNNING IT?
If 98% have failed to abstain from sex does that make it right? Classical example of following the multitude to do evil. God's precept can not be changed by a majority majority human vote. Even the Bible confirm that narrow is the way that lead to life and BROAD is the way that lead to destruction to accommodate the many that will go there.

Men in the days of Noah believed that God cannot destroy the earth just because sinners were the majority. Choose wisely bro and stop being carried away by popular opinion.

So he lived an HAPPY life, and died an happy man, RIGHT?! Thus as a man on earth he was NEVER punished by god, right?!

Btw: Are you claiming that Abraham's punishment for having sex outside marriage was the Arabic/Muslim people?!

So now, the punishment for having sex outside marriage is for your son to possibly take over your baby mamas/ mistresses and continue having extra marital sex with them?!
The above makes NO damn sense!!

So, you mean to say Solomon punishment was ending up having a weak nation who may be conquered by equally sinful men?! Really?!

Now, you are making sense as there are NO written punishment for extra marital sex (if there was, these higjly respected men i Mentionned above would have been served)

If the above is you view of punishments, then I am safe to say that extra marital sex is NOT a sin!
People will still believe what they want to believe.

Go ahead. Keep fornicating. You alone are responsible for your actions.

You may want to beat Solomon's record while you are at it.

MrBrownJay1:
BWAAAAH, Sundays always bring these gullible sheep in force.... Let me guess, you guys just came back from church?!

OK, class is in session, come and get some biblical EDUCATION:

I want each and everyone of you to use NOTHING but your brain...if you have one and are in full control of it, and answer the following question (a YES or NO will do as I don't need any hypocritical NONSENSE)

A) were Abraham/king David/king Solomon highly respected men of the bible?

B) did these men have sex outside marriage?

C) if you've answered NO to question A or B, go back to church and get acquainted with your Bible, as you are ignorant about what's written in it.

D) if you've answered YES to question A and B, then you have passed the biblical intelligence test, and therefore here is your final question: why were these men NOT viewed as sinners (or punished) by god?

Let me hear you say AMEN to your NL biblical education!!!!
A. Yes
B. Yes
C. It's yes and yes as you can see
D. They were viewed as sinners and were punished accordingly. You need to stop treating the Bible like multichoice objectives. You can't pick the ones that suit you.

Abraham's delay in child birth was a test. He couldn't wait and was encouraged by his wife to have an extramarital affair with his maid. He is the father of all nations and you and I are sharing in his punishment till today. Without Ishmael you won't have religious terrorism from the Middle East today.

David was expressly judged. The sword remained in his house. Absalom his son slept with all his wives on the roof top before the whole city and then overthrew his father David.

Solomon was chosen out of mercy to replace David. He satisfied himself with 1000 women and what was the outcome? The women introduced their gods into Israel leading to idolatry and he couldn't keep is really together. His kingdom was divided and Israel became a weak nation leading to its conquest by Babylon.

You can use your head knowledge and logic to justify whatever you want. It's your life but stop misleading people on this forum.

Go on fornication provided you can bear the consequences.

Check the whole of your Bible and tell me one man that committed fornication and was not punished at all.
Christianity Etc › Re: What Does The Bible Say About Sex Before Marriage? by Iamzik: 12:44pm On May 07, 2017
OP three questions for you:

1. Do you believe in the Bible?
2. What is fornication?
3. What did Jesus teach about fornication? Did he teach against it or did He encourage it?

Answer these and you have the answer you seek.

Christianity Etc › Re: Long Church Service: Good Or Bad? by Iamzik: 12:14pm On May 07, 2017
Don't stay overly long in church. Allow God's spirit to stay in you always. You are the new church.

Paul once preached a very long message for about 20 hours. So long that a young man sitting on the third floor gallery fell downstairs and died. Acts 20:7-12. He came down, raised him from the dead and continued! I find that story particularly fascinating. Anyway it was his farewell and he wasn't going to see them ever again.

Now I don't like long services except for vigil /praise nights/concerts. Sunday morning worship should not exceed 3hours max

Impact is not in how many hours you spend but how much you allow the Holy Spirit to touch your soul and transform you from inside out. What did you take from the message and what area of your life need to change?

The reason why we go to church is to fellowship with God and edify each other. I personally find 50% of church activities unedifying.... Just for show.

Let all things be done in moderation. The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet 1Cor 14:32

You can live in the church all your life and still wallow in sin. Church is symbolic of God's presence -where He lives. The church /temple where God wants to dwell is your heart.

The only thing OP picked from Peter Obi's speech is the issue of 17 year wrist watch. When will youths learn to hold unto substance rather than chasing shadow. People are here debating about the man based on a personal issue of wristwatch rather than his achievements while in office.

Some are already campaigning against him because they think he is lying. If you think he is too good to be true then you don't deserve him. As the saying goes: People deserve the kind of leaders they get. 2019 is coming and it's unfortunately clear that most of this forum will still vote out of sentiment.

Let's go for the substance and quit side talks

So the working method is to say nothing and do nothing? Silence is consent and his body language says it all. If you are waiting for Buhari to fight his Fulani brothers then you are in for a long wait.

At least Jonathan did something. What has your hero done? Just think about those who have been rendered fatherless or childless while you defend a docile government. They may not be in your state today, but if nothing is done I assure you it's only a matter of time. This guy is playing smart. Ok mr clean, you have had the same wristwatch for 17 years, but you have the money to buy/rent such an expensive flat and leave it empty! Even the wristwatch you are taunting, how much did you pay for it? Anyway, good luck as you kick start your campaign ahead of 2019.
I guess you are very surprised that it's possible to be in government and live a modest lifestyle.

Nothing wrong with buying one durable wristwatch that you can use for many years. I do thesame and it's cost effective on the long run. He's a sharp contrast from others who use money stolen from public purse to buy golden wristwatches they many never wear in years.

Bottom line is that the personal lifestyle of the leader says a lot to the followers and being modest reduces the pressure to accumulate unnecessary wealth. I'm still waiting for any of the past governors that can come out openly and render his account of stewardship in public with facts and figures. Until then Obi has my respect.

This idea of castigating everything good or bad is wrong. They steal, we condemn. They don't steal we condemn. What do we really want in a leader. The man is exposing all the loopholes government officials use to siphons public funds. Have you heard any of these from your past Governors?

For the few leaders who are striving to lead right, the best we can do is encourage while we continually hold them accountable.

Before inviting him, the occupants of aso Villa and the entire national assembly should ask themselves : why is it that most Nigerian only become successful outside Nigeria? Because our political, educational, economic and social environments do not support those aspiring to be successful. An average Nigerian youth is not asking for too much... Just create a conducive environment and see.

Meanwhile the same Joshua begged for an opportunity to represent Nigeria sometimes ago but was denied probably because he doesn't belong to the 95% or quota did was not on his side.... Only God knows. See where nepotism has taken us?

If you ever have an opportunity to relocate in pursuit of your dream in a better land please don't hesitate. Don't hinge your hopes of a great future on "e go better" cos Nigeria will take quite a while to get better.

NYSC › Re: Corpers In President Buhari's Hometown Daura Lament As Thieves Go On Rampage by Iamzik: 11:39am On Apr 29, 2017
Frankdotcom:
Corps members serving in Daura, Katsina state, the hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari are currently living in perpetual fear over the influx of thefts which has continued unabated for months.

Barely a month after thieves invaded the corpers lodge at the Government Day Secondary school Daura catering away phones, laptops etc, the dare devils struck again on Wednesday catering away gadgets in the same lodge.

Recalling the past incident, the lodge president stated that the corps members woke at exactly 3:48am to discover to their chagrin that their phones, laptops, power banks and other accessories were missing.

When one of the corps members raised alarm over his missing gadgets, others rose to discover theirs missing as well. This induced panic as they all set out that night in a bid to unravel the sudden disappearance of their gadgets.

They quickly ran to complain to the security man attached to the school but to their consternation, he feigned ignorance over seeing anyone within the school and hurriedly went back to sleep.

However, they noticed cracks and holes at some points in the school wall where the perpetrators could have sneaked in and out.

According to some of the lodge mates, it's believed the thieves could have used some form of charm as it was baffling on how they could have robbed 5 rooms without being caught. They entered the lodge through the window protector which they tamper with to allow penetration. The perpetrators even had the luxury of time to detach the sim cards from the phones they stole and left it at the entrance of the lodge.

The list of items stolen include phones, laptops, charges, power banks, all worth over eight hundred thousand naira (N800,000).

The case was reported to the Daura divisional police command. The DSP promised to fish out the perpetrators of the act while promising enhanced security for the corps members.

The corps members later took the case to the Emir's palace. The Emir, HRH Umar Faruk Umar promised to give the corps members half of the amount towards the end of March. When the corps members went back on Monday, the palace official handling the matter, told the Corpers that they were facing financial challenges and as such they should wait till the end of the month April.
The corpers went back on Monday and were disappointed with discordant tales from the palace officials.

This infuriated the corps members as some of them are due to pass out next week.

A corps member, who pleaded anonymity disclosed that this case of mid night thefts has become a recurring decimal for quite some time now. "These thieves move around in the dead of the night with their charms. Once they apply their charms, they whole people in the particular environment sleeps off like dead bodies to allow them perpetuate their evil act", He said.

Also, two staff in the nearby school, Government Girls Secondary school Daura have become victims too as their properties which include plasma television, phones were carted away in like manner.

Corps members have called on the security agencies and stake holders to make the matter of their security a priority. They further appealed to the Emir to fulfil his promise to the corps members who earn peanuts in the course of their service. Victor Esowe a corps member said, " We can't suffer to get these gadgets to make life easy in the course of our service to our fatherland only for the people of the community to treat us with contempt."

Thank you
Love doesn't come out of the blues. Even between a man and a woman. Love in a nation as diverse as ours can only be fostered in an environment where justice, equity and national interest come first before ethnic/religious supremacist agenda. Take a look at our history. Do you see these three qualities?

A constant show of disdain for other sections will only fuel Mutual distrust and suspicion not love. You vote based on competence. Good. Those who voted Buhari based on perceived competence can now see that ethnicity holds sway over the wishes of one supposedly competent man. All I'm saying is the tide will turn... And when it does let those at the receiving end endure with patience

Keep consoling yourself. If what you are seeing is not enough to open your eyes then I'm speechless. This is a career in an organization where a certain ethnic group have positioned their sons and daughters to head the country's security agencies perpetually one after the other and you still want to compare Jonathan appointments with baba daura's. Jonas appointment was more balanced across the ethnic groups. Even the North cannot deny that.

How would you have felt if Jonathan appointed head of DSS from bayelsa and also employ over 50 from his state alone? The North think they are wise but they keep shooting themselves on the foot. I'm sure those who voted Buhari are now wiser. 2019 is around the corner. The south will pay the North back in its own coin.

Present a youruba presidential and igbo vice presidential candidate or vice versa then watch the North's reaction. If that's not possible then we better restructure or go our separate ways. 3 regions to the south. 2 regions to the north. Middle belt can keep following the North until their gullibility is cured.

Aptly summarized.

Those of you shouting the Bible says this and that you need to read the whole Bible and apply wisdom.

The man and the woman are jointly responsible for the welfare of the home. If the man has been shouldering his responsibilities faithfully and things go south, the woman should be able to step in without announcing to the whole world.... if they are truly one.

This is not 1970's where mothers were typically sit at home mums. If you are employed/engaged in business there is nothing wrong in taking joint responsibility for your family's welfare by supporting your husband. Funny how women want equality of privilege with men but do not want equality of responsibilities.

Bottom line the success of the home depends on both husband and wife cooperating in love to achieve great things. For those who know how to quote 1 Tim 5:8 please remember to also quote Prov 31:10-end.

If Emeka truly beat his wife then that is too bad. You don't throw stones at a bird resting on the ground... It will take it as an excuse to fly away
