Hello please I need clarifications and advice on somethings. I’m soon graduate from the university with a bsc in nursing, already a licensed registered nurse and midwife as well. I’ll be going for my nursing intership soon here in Nigeria. I want to do my masters program in nursing in Ireland and also get registered as a nurse in Ireland as well. I noticed in most Irish universities I have to be an Irish licensed nurse to do most of the masters. So my question is, if I start my Irish nurse registration process and it’s a success would I apply for a study or work visa at the embassy cause I want to be able to work and study at the same time. How should I go about it??

You can start your Irish Nursing license processing from Nigeria so far you have at least 2/3 years full time work experience- Its very straightforward and similar to the Canadian WES process.

If you however choose to go for a masters in Nursing, you have automatic 2 years work permit but you still need to get your Irish nursing permit sorted before you can practise as a Nurse in Ireland.

According to the new Irish visa rules for 2019, temporary accommodation is not a requirement.

New requirement is to pay your full tuition or if your schools permits partial payment, the embassy advises at least 80% of your Tuition fees before visa application.

This is not stated on their website , but was disclosed during visa training session in April.

Either way is acceptable; since you will be required to present your personal account as well as your sponsors' account statement too.

Not entirely complicated but enough proof / documentation is required

My cousin wants to apply for a PG diploma in UCC. It's a level 9. My concern is that it is a 2 year part time programme, and it's listed under Adult continuing education. Although it states they award a post graduate diploma (major award).

Please will she be granted visa with that? And most important, will she get the 1 year work permit?

Yes some universities accept students with 3rd class into the final year am not sure about TUD though but admission offers generally takes 72 hours to 15 working days on average.

I went for a study in Ireland event at eko hote, lagos today where there were many schools and their representatives. I spoke to the one from the school i have an admission with and he told me that i could pay my accommodation costs (which included feeding and electricity bills) for either a semester or the whole year before applying for my visa.

I would like to ask that if i make my full tuition payment and my full accommodation payment as well, would i still need the living cost amount which is a minimum of 7,000 euros to be in my sponsor's account.

Legally you can only stay in the UK for 6 months at a stretch. so let them think seriously about this before moving

Ireland gives you 2 years after studies to look for a job. This job must pay a certain minimum for you to keep being in their country. The company would also file for your permit as well using this job and pays some extra taxes hiring you. Sounds pretty good!!!
Let's see the reality,
When u apply to these jobs, so many EUs apply together with their citizens as well. The law allows EUs to work without restriction. Hence, most companies prefer to hire their citizens and EUs leaving most Africans with "sorry emails". Most Nigerians I have sampled here get these rejection mails on jobs the even have very good competence at. More also comes when you find out that a typical Irish was raised to see Africans as poor and having a disadvantaged life bcoz of skin colour. Furthermore, ask yourself, Ireland is not interested in giving scholarship to the large number of students they pull. They are aware of the current situation in the country and would be glad to explore it without offering you a discount since they know you are desperate. Most students in Ireland pay their fees to the last Kobo only to turn around to face these in the job market. The country is indirectly using the student monies to build their GDP with no regards to their fate afterwards. Even Asians suffer less of these in employment than Africans. Most Nigerians come here and spend all their money and finally realize in long run they have been shortchanged. However, I don't blame them, I only blame the bad leaders in Nigeria that have made the country a laughing stock.
My 1 dollar advise is: it is good to seek greener pastures but be aware that these things happen in Ireland. The probability of you having that job is really slim and so most Nigerian graduates keep doing menial/casual jobs even after graduation. Explore better areas with less racist approach and better labour laws. Also have a plan for yourselves so that if they don't give u the job that makes u stay back, you can forge on to better areas instead of crying over spilt milk. And becoming a begger or a peasantry in Europe.

Most Developed countries sell greener pastures to foreigners - some through further studies, others through residence permit/ citizenship.

I bet you've heard of some countries where you need to invest in their real estate with £100,000 to £1,000,000 or even more for you to have dual or multiple citizenship.

My concern is people always feel its strange that these countries give priorities to citizens and EU nationals before Foreigners when even here in Nigeria , companies employ foreigners before Nigerians.

No one promised it will be easy, but you can definitely take it to the bank that 80 percent of the time you're treated more fairly than your home country.

This doesn't just apply to Ireland, same happens in US, Australia, Canada**- even in Canada, employers will take black people with PR before fresh graduate just because no company wants to go through the hustle of sponsoring someone when you can easily get someone who has a 5 year permit.
My candid advice is simple- pray as if you've not worked and work as if you've not prayed . Don't expect anything to be handed to you. Keep your head high and keep trying.

The process is that you apply directly to a company or apply via recruitment companies in Ireland-who then connects you directly to the organisation itself.
Write tests or have interviews with your recruiters from Ireland via skype.
A whole lot of people are resident in Ireland, why will they need Nigerians to take a job when they can easily find someone in the country to fill up the job. If they can't then your occupation has to be on the highly skilled list.

Both of them have years of experience in IT. So if you think you have relevant skill sets especially for jobs on the Highly skilled occupation list, please shoot your shot.

Even if you find a school that will issue you an admission letter without an initial deposit or part payment of tuition, the Irish embassy requires payment of atleast €6000 deposit where school fees are above €6000 and a complete payment where fees are below €6000.
In summary, you must pay a deposit of at least €6000 before you are eligible to apply for am Irish visa.

And this works for only schools that accept partial deposit. Not all universities accept 6,000 euros in short most require full tuition payment before visa application.

I got admission the fees is 10,250 which I think is very high,also was told to deposit 500 euro to keep the admission, I wanted to know if any one studying there did same thing. PLS I need a cheap school as soon as possible for September intake.

Unless you have a 2.1 or 1st class thats when you can get a tuition as low as 7,250 euros .

I recently got admission to study M.Sc in Accounting and Financial Management at Griffith College Dublin, Ireland. Please I need enquiries on the following:

1) The total tuition expected for me to pay is €12,035. As soon as I have paid for half of the tution to be able to get my study permit, is it possible to atleast pay the balance of 30% by doing part time jobs in Dublin?

DIT requires payment of at least 6000 euros which is inline with minimum requirement by the embassy. I'll suggest you pay your tuition in full as this reduces the weight or amount required for your visa application

If you have an offer, speak to your agent (I guess thats faster means of getting the right information).

A slower means will be to read through the thread yourself- Dependents are not allowed whilst studying , exception to PhD students only. In simple English , you cant take your children along.

I sent a reminder yesterday. Hoping to hear from them before the end of the week. I do have a copy of the refusal but the reason was not specific, they cited lack of travel history, purpose of travelling, lack of family ties in Canada and their uncertainty about sufficiency of my funds and assets.

The reasons are right there:

Why are you not studying the course in Nigeria?
Why Ireland?
How is the course significant to your career pursuits?
Your ties to Nigeria?- Why would you return to Nigeria after completing your program?
Proof of funds
Ireland does not reckon with Assets.

GOOD NEWS!!! The following African countries do not need to apply for visa to study in the Republic of Ireland (Please not Northern Ireland - this is part of United kingdom):

South Africa
Botswana
Lesotho &
Swaziland

Also, If you have an American passport you have free entry into the Republic of Ireland .

You all will sort out your residence permit card on arrival.

I was offered an admission for software Engineering at University of Limerick last year. i paid my acceptance fee but couldn't pay the full tuition and i didnt have all the funds. I asked to defer and was told the request would be made on my behalf. I inquired for feedback but I was told there had been no response from the faculty. I was then advised to reapply, that my acceptance fee payment would still be retained. I have applied now and its been a month and there is no response, unlike last year where i got a response in almost 3 weeks. Still hoping I get a positive response soon as I have been able to secure the funds I need and look to pay once i get an offer.

I would like to ask if its a disadvantage having being refused candaian study permit in applying for Ireland visa.

Having a Canadian refusal does not affect your chances. However, you will be required to present a copy of the visa refusal and also explain in your SOP reason for the refusal and hopefully you have put better measures in place correcting the reasons for the previous refusal.

Am sorry you're feeling a little bit under the weather or sad about things in general.

From your previous comments, am guessing you resumed in January, you have to get your PPs number which is similar to your social security number to allow you work and get taxed appropriately.
You also need to secure an appointment to get your GNIB / Resident permit card ; may take weeks before you can get both sorted. At least PPs has to be sorted before looking for job or securing a part-time job.

No one promised, money is being laid down on the streets of Dublin for you to pick up.

And even if you choose, US, UK, Canada or Australia ; the process is the same around the world.

I'll suggest your get the necessary things sorted first; reach out to other Nigerians or International students who have been through the process - Religious gathering also provide immense support and information.
Change your mentality , cos no one owes you anything-
