MagicBishop: They even have to cough out money to the wardens to take them to court on their assigned court dates.
The wardens will tell them they need money for fuel.
Nigerian prison is pure capitalism
You can live a non regimented life behind those walls and have access to anything you want as long as you have money .
Read of a case where a convicted innate (not Awaiting Trial) even got prison armed guards (,whose uniforns are similar to Mopol) to escort him to town in a convoy of his jeeps to scam a medical supplies store of several wheel chairs using a fake bank transfer. Some high profile prisoners even spend the weekend from Friday evening up to Monday morning outside the prison. You can have women, generators,. Phones, and whatsover as long as you have money to bribe the wardens. Al Mustapha even impregnated his two wives during his 13ys life imprisonment.
That's why you will see some high profile efcc suspects begging the judge to have them remanded in prison custody. Inside life is even safer than in real-life as you are assured that no police or kidnapper can touch you while there . This is why SARS and EFCC like having custody of suspects because they can bleed them dry .
tl;dr: Prison life in Nigeria is not as regimented as you may think and is also the most liberal if you have money. If you don't, then get ready for hell. Nigeria bad a long way to go, it will take a revolution to change the hands of time and put the country in the part of greatness. Our Secuirity aparachik is in shambles, from the military to paramilitary to the police. It is only administering of constant pressure like what is going on that will force our leaders to put the country in the right path, imagine Hamza impregnating his wives as an inmates is the hight of the corruption going on in out correctional centres. We all must lend our voice to put an end to this vices bedevilling our society, they say enough is enough. Let's take our country back from those who had sworn to take it the abiss. |

Abyjah: I won't gain anything by lying. The same institution that has failed these inmates is the one punishing them. People stealing billions in prison allocations yet feel the prisoner is morally less unworthy of life than them. Anyone wanna know a real life hypocrite here? It's interesting to know the real leaders of the society (youths) are setting precedence for positive change. This awakening of the youthful might will bring real change in the polity. This country has been in shambles for too long, this is our time for change. |

What is given them for food is so small and unhygienic that those who eat them take ill and most die for lack of medical care. juman: SARS is reckless in their ways.
They most likely can kill armed robbers even after arrested.
While the country economy is so bad and pushing many people to crime. How many armed robbery cases have you heard to be sincere foiled by sars? But if you go to their cell you will see community there for petty offenses. I was having a hair cut and a young man was narrating his experience with SARS over a medical issue. He sought medical prescriptions and one of it was tramadol amongst the medicine as a result of severe pain he suffered in the hands of hoodlums who came for his belongings and he fought the invasion. He said after he took the first dose of the drug at night he traveled out the following morning to port Harcourt with the remaining drugs. On getting to PH city there was a stop and search and he was searched with the remaining dose of drugs found in his possession.. Even after telling them it's his medication these guys refused, you know what they did? They took out the tramadol and threw away the remaining drugs and then threw him into their cell at RUKPOKWU. He was chained on his legs and arms, beaten to pulp and forced to confess that he was the leader of an arm robbery gang which he refused. More refusal got him more 2 by 2 wood on his body and then the torture that broke the camels back was when he said they suspended him at an height above the ground, he felt his spine cracking . This young man said he confessed to all the charges levelled against him just for him to be brought down but to no avail and he passed out, he later saw himself on the ground gasping for breath. His saving grace was that he dailed his bro number in the mist of the confusion during his arrest and sent an SOS to him before the phone was confiscated . They were forced to part with huge sum just to get his freedom while others who had no one coming for them payed the Supreme sacrifice. If SARS were just giving armed robbers extrajudicial killings people will not say anything even when extrajudicial killing isn't recognized by the law but they do it to people who never in their life have that line of thought. The worst part they arrest for boyfriend girlfriend matter, two fighting, money dispute, and so many other and then twist the story to have ingredients that suits their jurisdiction which is arm robbery and violent crimes, those guys are crazy ... |

AllOfUsAtManna: killing innocent people is an understatement during his time awkuzu SARS is equivalent to death sentence. if you ever go there even with a minor offense and come back alive and you didn't become a born again, forget it. (yes they can arrest you for two fighting and you'll pay 500k for bail or get killed) there was this my street guy then that was arrested for confronting a rich man's son who tried to bully him. the rich man called awkuzu SARS and got the guy arrested. their way is that even if they arrested you for ordinary two fighting once you enter their hand they'll lebel you either an armed robber or kidnapper. then they'll ask your people for a huge sum ranging 500k above and if they fail to bring it then that's the end. ok back to my street guy. while his poor parents where running up and down to get the money they have already planned to execute the guy tomorrow. early morning like that they came to the guy's cell called him and few other guys inside. while they where taking them out to kill them they got a call from this nwafor demon that the parents of the boy have made the transfer yesterday that they should not include him on the list of those that'll be wasted (their slang for killing) na so they carry the guy go put back to the cell and those guys they took with him never returned their cries where heard after gun shots that's the end of them even the other remaining cell mates where so surprised to see him returned because nobody has ever returned after early morning take out. for close to a week after release the guy was just moping in the hospital he didn't talk anything. it took the efforts of the doctors to give several injections before his spirit came back. hmmmm that was when I learnt that majority of these people being executed are already dead even before execution because most of them even at the point of their execution they won't even show any sign of pain or anything they'll just mope to death because their spirit has already left, what's left is just a breathing body. that's why Bokoharam will just be slicing someone's throat but the person won't show any sign of struggle. reason is that the person is already gone.
it was a chilling experience for the guy.
till today this guy is a pure devoted evangelist that always preach preach preach What an experience, better heard than experienced. Tat was hell on planet earth, that guy should be made to pay for his sins |
