op, you seem to be making a huge miscalculation. Wike would not stand for the election. EFCC had long being waiting for this oppurtunity to meticulously look into his records as the minister of Education.

Forget the hype, Rivers people would now implement the zoning arrangement they had with amaechi. They cannot have another ikwere man govern them for another 8 years.
Where is your own Tonye from. You wrote like you're from Rivers; but simple analysis of Rivers politics shows you either must be one of this noise makers on Nairaland-. Check out the comment of the guy below you. That is an informed person about Rivers.
You can be sure you will change your name on Nairaland after Rivers election. Unfortunately for you Wike might be behind the bars before that election.

EducationRe: Before You Send Your Daughter To A University In Ghana, Please Read This. by IDERAWOLE(m): 8:56pm On Oct 11, 2015
raymondhill:
I was having my lunch in a restaurant in Accra this afternoon, when A friend started a discussion of what some of our female Nigerian students in Ghana have turned themselves into. I could not agree more. While the parents spend lots of money to ensure their daughters are comfortable and graduate with flying colours, their children have a different agenda.

There was this particular case of a young girl whose mother rented a 2-bedroom flat for her in Accra. My friend, said news just got to him this week, that this student slept with 5(five) guys at the same time and was still begging for more. She is always high on hard drugs. And,the mother, back in Nigeria will be booasting of her daughter, who is studying in Ghana. Oh, so pathetic.

Sadly to say, many of these young girls have become international prostitutes and seriously hooked on drugs. I mean what I am saying. And many people in Accra can bear me witness. Some of the mushroom universities attended by the students lack hostel facilities and the students are forced to rent accomodation thereby according them too much privacy which they are not matured enough to handle.

This issues also involves our boys. Some have become drug addicts, school dropouts and they still collect school fees from their parents.

Parents need to pay regular unexpected visit to their children and monitor them via phone calls at odd hours to find out where they are and what they are up to. If you a parent, you must never cease to pray for your children. And, if you are not sure of child,s behaviour, keep him or her close to you
Not interested in commenting at first but for some serious minded parents looking for guide on this issue.

There is nothing to celebrate in your child schooling in Ghana if not that Nigerians are sick.

When did university education become the lot of 15/16yr old if not for the stupid attitude of Nigerian parents to get excited about nonsensicalities.

University education worldwide is for adults where seriousness is their watchword.
I won't be surprised when some dudes here will try to educate me about such babies in universities abroad; it's ok; go ahead & put them in university & make sure you buy them diapers as they go.

Enjoy your headache as well as your pride that you have a baby in the varsity.

NYSCRe: Boi Establishes N2bn Fund For NYSC Members by IDERAWOLE(m): 4:35pm On Oct 07, 2015
RemyMartins:
The Bank of Industry has established a N2bn entrepreneurial fund for members of the National Youth Service Corps.

The Graduate Entrepreneurial Fund was jointly launched by the bank and the NYSC in Lagos on Monday.

The Managing Director, BoI, Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, stated that the initiative was meant to provide solution to graduate unemployment in Nigeria.

Olaoluwa noted that judging by the National Bureau of Statistics’ data that of the over 250,000 graduates that enrolled in the NYSC scheme each year, over 41 per cent were without employment after the mandatory programme, because job creation had not kept pace with the growth in the country’s working population.

The BoI MD commended the NYSC Directorate for promoting an entrepreneurial mind set among the members through its Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development initiative.

The SAED, a capacity building programme, was introduced in March 2012 by the NYSC as part of its orientation course content with the aim of raising an army of entrepreneurs that will drive the economy instead of job seekers trudging the streets in search of jobs.

Olaluwa noted, however, that corps members were usually deprived of the full benefits of the programme because they often engaged in numerous other activities during the orientation programme.

According to him, this also inhibits their ability to generate bankable business plans that can attract funding by financial institutions.

Don't know if she had ever openly declared she is a lesbian, but let's pause for a moment.

First of all, she is an athlete. She is excused to appear the way she is. If I am looking for a female footballer and without any idea of how skillful they are, and I was presented with a Chichi Igbo and a Rita Dominic to pick from, of course I'll place my bet on Chichi to be in my team.

If she were not involved in any sport and still chose to build those muscles, I might not like it. But then, that's my business. It's her life. She has been a tomboy, and football with muscle building gives her the outlet to express herself. I'm sure if she were your sister, you would take a more positive view of her.

There's too much to worry about in this life, than over a girl's muscles. Especially one who doesn't give a hoot about what you think.

What a state govt construct is "gutter". Where will the water go, when the gutters are all filled with no channel to drain the water into the River Niger? What you have is a flooded major road. You can now imagine how the streets look like, if a major road is flooded. Street with no gutter, much more a drainage

PoliticsRe: Saraki/presidency Cold War: Senators Avoid C’ttee Chairmanship by IDERAWOLE(m): 6:26pm On Sep 28, 2015
free2ryhme:
ABUJA – AS the Cold War between the presidency and the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Saraki over the later’s emergence as the Senate President rages on, a good number of the Senators have allegedly rejected heading Committees to avoid what they described as witch-hunt.

The tradition before now was that Senators and members of the House of Representatives lobby to become Chairmen of some of the Committees perceived to be juicy so as to better their lots.

All these criminals talking about 2019 now; with nothing done now. Rogues in high places.

But Vanguard gathered that some of the Senators especially those from the All Progressives Congress, APC, who played prominent role for the emergence of Dr. Saraki have allegedly decided not to take any Committee Chairmanship to avoid facing any form of persecution from some of the party leaders.

One of the APC Senators told Vanguard on strict condition of anonymity that the Cold War between the Senate President and some leaders of the APC was all about 2019 Presidential election.

He claimed that some of the Senators suspected to have played any role in the emergence of Saraki as the Senate President were strictly being monitored by those who felt embarrassed and defeated in the election for the senate president, adding that they have decided to set trap for them during the oversight functions.

Besides, he said that many of the APC Senators from the North have started having problems with their governors over 2019, and that some of the governors have contributed to the crisis between Dr. Saraki and the APC leadership.

The Senator who was rumoured to be eminently qualified to chair one of the juicy Committees because of his knowledge on the sector said that he alongside other Senators have decided not to accept Committee Chairmanship to avoid any form of persecution by some of the party leaders that felt wounded in the election of the senate president.

He said, “Some of us (Senators) especially the APC Senators have decided not to accept Committee Chairmanship. Those who felt aggrieved over the election of Senate President have decided to embark on a witch haunt and they want to use the Committee to achieve their devilish plans.

“They have planned to use the oversight functions to blackmail us and you know when you are blackmailed whether rightly or wrongly, the public will have a negative impression about you and we don’t want to create that room at all.

“You can see what is happening between the Senators and the governors especially in the North. Some of the governors who have their eyes in 2019 have started fighting their senators.

“One particular governor alongside a former governor that lost the bid to become the APC presidential candidate and one person that arrogates to himself the position of the party leader have decided that the present senate leadership did not have peace and have blackmailed the leadership before the presidency.

“You know that Saraki made sure that the APC did not have a Muslim/Muslim ticket and the party leaders that did not benefit from that have been angry with him (Saraki). The other one felt disappointed that he was not supported during the APC presidential primaries after their alleged initial agreement before they dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.

“You also know that we have only one canonised person in this country who believes that every other person is corrupt. When you are even talking to him and explain your position, he will not talk but only to be watching you because he has already made up his conclusion.”

The APC Senator explained that whatever was happening in the party was because of the 2019 elections, stressing that it was perceived by some of the party leaders that allowing Saraki a breathing space would jeopardise their ambition in 2019.

He noted that with the present composition of the party, if President Muhammadu Buhari decides not to contest the 2019 presidential election, there was the fear that Saraki has the brightest chance to emerge, alleging that it was the contributing factor in the crisis.

He also claimed that those who have become uncomfortable with the way things were going were making every efforts towards ensuring that they blackmailed the senate president before President Buhari.

“Saraki for now has the support of majority of those who decide elections in the North. Both in Sokoto, Gombe, Zamfara and some other states in the North. If he maintains the structure till 2019, there is the fear that he would definitely emerge as the party’s presidential flag bearer.

“Those who are interested in the position are aware of this and especially three of them, one from the South west, a former governor and a serving governor who are all interested are making sure that they blackmail him before President Buhari. You know the President believes that he is the only corrupt-free person in this country”, he stated.

He, however, said that if nothing was done to reconcile all the aggrieved members and accord the required respect to the office of the senate president, it would affect the chances of the party in the 2019 elections, adding that already the public have started having a negative impression on the APC
