Stray Bullet Kills 25-Year-Old Woman Days To Her Wedding As Gunmen And Security Operatives Battle In Anambra

A 25-year-old lady, Lilian Onyinyechukwu Nwabuike, who died after she was hit by stray bullet in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, was laid to rest on Friday, May 6.

According to members of the community, the deceased's traditional and white wedding ceremonies were slated for next week.

Late Onyinye was hit by stray bullet when security operatives and gunmen engaged in a shoot out on Saturday afternoon, April 30.

The incident took place at the military post close to the residence of former Minister of Information, late Prof Dora Akunyili.

According to The Online Source, the gunmen stormed the place in three different vehicles and opened fire on the security operatives, who quickly returned fire.

In the process, three of the hoodlums were killed and others sustained bullet wounds.

An eyewitness, who spoke with The NewsMen, said the security operatives fought to repel the hoodlums despite being taken unawares by the gunmen.

“I now respect our security men, they are gallant indeed. I thought those criminals would finish them up but they responded immediately and they ran away with their vehicles" the witness narrated.

"But by then, three of them were already lying on the floor because we were watching them from upstairs." he added.

This calls for serious concern especially for the female folk as ladies are the ones at the receiving end of this whole cruelty and madness of ritualism that has become the order of the day in our already decaying society.

The rate at which female body parts are being ripped on a daily basis by their supposed boyfriends and lovers leaves me wondering if one can still have a genuine guy/relationship without having to watch your back that he's going rip your organs the next minute.

My girlfriend invited me to her cousins birthday party that held yesterday, at first I didn't really want to go but she kept on insisting few days ago.. when she noticed I might not come, she went ahead to invite a buddie of mine who we do things together 24/7 so that guy had to press me on yesterday afternoon.

How God Saved Me From The Hands Of Bandits On My Way To Abuja

Having heard severally about the ordeals suffered by some individuals in the hands of armed robbers while on a journey, including several close family members, i often wondered what it would like if I encountered such myself, because i'd never experienced such while traveling by road.

However all that was about to change several years ago when I had embarked on a journey from Lagos to Abuja.

We started the journey quite late on that day, at about 10am so by the time we got to Abuja, it was already early hours of the next day.

Having gotten to the outskirts of the FCT, Gwagwalada to be precise, the feeling was meant to be one of relief having come such a long way, and almost arriving at our destination, however, it suddenly turned to one of apprehension, as we saw several buses suddenly reversing with speed on the other lane, instead moving in the opposite direction.

Immediately, the driver of the bus I had traveled with didn't wait for anyone to tell him what was going on, as he immediately hit the reverse gear and also joined the others on the other lane moving with the back of the bus not knowing exactly why he was doing so.

It was later on we got to know that it was bandits that had mounted road blocks on the express road in order to rob road users, that we were trying to evade.

Not long afterwards, we saw that some vehicles had started moving in the forward direction once again, so we joined them not knowing exactly what was going on but assuming that it meant the road was now safe again for use.

When we had gotten close to the point the bandits had mounted the road blocks, we now understood what had taken place, as we saw sticks and stones littered on the ground, and some armed soldiers standing by and waving touches at the vehicles, beckoning to the road users that it was all clear and now safe again to use the road.

By the side of the road, we saw a parked camouflaged military luxurious bus fully loaded with military personnel, so it was obvious they were the ones that actually chased off the bandits.

The timing to me was something else, as the first time that bandit or robbers decided to attack road users on the same road I was travelling, was the same time that a camouflaged military luxurious bus packed with military personnel decided to use the same road.

I believe it was God protecting His own, although at the time, I also had some concerns, because although it was the outskirts of Abuja, I thought if those bandits could have the mind to stage such an attack in the FCT, how much more else where?

That's why I'm not too surprised at what's going on with banditry in the nation as I long saw it coming.

I pray God would intervene in the situation though, because it appears a problem too big for men alone to solve.

Its not Asif you met the bandits face to face or that your bus ran into their rain of bullets and passed untouched...your driver only applies common sense to reverse when he saw other road users reversing....I can assure you if the driver was stubborn, he would have ran into them....no miracle here in your writeup its just common sense

A Man, Ifeanyi Njoku, has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Precious Okeke, 24, in an estate at Badore, in the Ajah area of Lagos State, Reports.

Gathered that the live-in lovers stayed on Oke Street, where Njoku allegedly killed his girlfriend for ritual purposes.

Our correspondent learnt that a native doctor, who was assisting the suspect, instructed him to have sex with Okeke’s corpse.

Njoku was said to have engaged in the illicit act with the corpse for six days, as the stench emanating from his apartment prompted his neighbours to inform the management of the estate.

A source, Elizabeth John, said during a search of the apartment, Okeke’s decomposing corpse was found.

She said, “The boy killed his girlfriend about six days ago, and he confessed that he wanted to use the girl for money rituals. He said he was told that he should have sex with his girlfriend’s corpse for seven days, but he was caught on the sixth day. Today (Monday) is supposed to make it the seventh day.

“The smell of the corpse had been disturbing neighbours in the compound and other residents. So, they called the estate chairman to help in confirming what was going on in the apartment and while searching the apartment, they found the girl’s body.

The boy was arrested and taken to the Lamgbasa Police Station and during interrogation, he confessed that he killed his girlfriend six days ago.

“We learnt that the boy offered N6m to kill the case; we also learnt that he brought the girlfriend from the village and they just moved into the estate.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, adding that the deceased and the suspect were lovers.

He said, “Two suspects, Ifeanyi Njoku and Mbam Atunmufor, 36, have been arrested. They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigation. Njoku was the one that rented the apartment.”

I think someone else may have taken the cash from that ATM after you left there, because if the machine was already counting the money, it means the dispensing of money has been approved in its programming and will be dispensed later on, that's why there are cases of people slotting in their cards and before they type anything cash rolls out of it.

However it's not your fault, the bank has to take the responsibility for that, don't go to the bank and be sounding polite with customer care, in present day Nigeria, customer care hardly help people who sound polite, it's either they give you the cash or you receive the alert on your phone before you leave the bank, anything less than that they will know a customer visited their bank, another thing- if any person tells why are you disturbing because of 20k, tell the person to give you the money and the disturbance will stop ...

Hello nairaland I'm so afraid right now because of what is happening to my vital part (pnis).

Since last week I have being having discomfort in my pnis after sxx with my girlfriend.
