Did Jesus die??....was he ressurected??.....or did Jesus evade death and ressurection but was straight ahead appointed as firstborn from the dead??

Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:44am On May 28, 2013
benalvino: And I never said he is not. What am saying is firstborn means different thing in different context or scenario. Just like how the bible have different meaning for flesh
And I am telling you that when applied to Jesus it means all of it....the definition of firstborn in all its scope applies to Jesus......

The definition of first born...

first·born
[furst-bawrn]

-adj.
1. first in the order of birth; eldest.

-n.
2. a firstborn child.
3. a first result or product.

Be it pre-eminence,be it first amongst of birthed or created things or persons,be it first amongst family member,be it one appointed as chief amongst a group of persons while the individual in question is not excepted from the group, etc.....

Anyhow we want to define firstborn it all applies to Jesus..........

Gotten my point??...

If you still haven't we would quote scriptures until we all grow weary.......

And may I tell you that the psalms you quoted was a pointer to Jesus??.......

benalvino: Frosbel... You showing so much ignorance here. If Mary born Jesus and that makes him the first born as a result of that... Which time machine you borrow am make him use travel go back in time vo create everything for heaven and earth? Jesus was a man... The bible says God manifest in flesh... By your logic you are saying a man created everything in heaven and earth? Guy think before you post. You cannot understand God as the bible says... grin I know you are trying
Ben according to the flesh Jesus was marys firstborn........stop this charade.......

Mary had other kids but Jesus was the first of them and as we know he was birthed and so was rightly called firstborn by mary and the scriptures..........NO??.......

This is the point I have been trying to bring out but u guys have been running around psalms...........

So Jesus is the firstborn and the only begotten son of himself...??......don't laugh so quick bro...this discussion is about to get tougher........

Can we call the Father and the holy spirit the firstborn of all creation??
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:25am On May 28, 2013
benalvino: Psalms 89:27

And I will appoint him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth. You are the one who have to answer. All the question we asked you all you did was ask other question to run from it go back and answer why is Israel God firstborn David and few others. Try answer all those questions pls do not reply with questions reply with answers
Do you see the bolded up there.....??......and immediately after the bolded the answer was given...........

You guys have been running around defining firstborn in just one way which is at best wayo on your part..........

Let us define firstborn proper so that y'all can get your senses aroused.......

Genesis 49:3

New American Standard Bible
(©1995)
"Reuben, you are my firstborn; My
might and the beginning of my
strength, Preeminent in dignity
and preeminent in power.

Again I would ask you both.........how is Jesus the Gods firstborn or the firstborn and beginning of all creation...??....how is reuben jacobs firstborn and also the beginning of his virility??

Let me go straight into the discussion proper with the questions above.........

Itsfacts: Dude your questions has been answered many times over and over but you failed to address the points he made how many firstborn does God have? Did God created David before he created the earth? The Jesus create him self? If he is created how can he create all things? Why is other in your bible? Why did they forget to add other in John 1:3 there are so many question but answer this ones and you will understand what firstborn means in that context.
Did God call david his Firstborn??....answer the question............

You guys have answered zilch......

benalvino: I have already told you stop acting like I haven't. You need to tell me how many firstborn God have. You dont have to sit back I have told you and you can't sit back and wash. You should tell me why other added to your bible.
You said firstborn means pre-eminent.....

And I have asked how is Jesus pre-eminent to his GOD and Father...??....

You better stop playing tricks bro......

You want to know why other was added in the NWT and in bracket??......
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:08am On May 28, 2013
Itsfacts: No what we want to know is how many firstborn does God have? If you answer that you might know the meaning of the term. Once again alvino is right
Alvino knows where I'm heading at........he knows...and he knows that when we get to that junction he'd be wrong.......

Itsfacts: From what alvino is saying firstborn have different meaning like flesh in bible. Context is the key. Jesus cannot be born twice.
We know Jesus can't be born twice.....all we want to know is what Jesus being Gods firstborn means

Ben said Jesus being called firstborn means pre-eminence.....

Oya na...try applying it to Jesus being Gods firstborn and the firstborn of all creation.......
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 11:11pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: She meant her firstborn and that is simple.
And what does she mean by her firstborn??...........
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:56pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: David was not pierced am saying some of the people who Pearce him dont have son and since it wasn't God morning what is your point like mentioned earlier it is a description. And firstborn means pre-eminent.
And Jesus Christ been Gods firstborn means what??.....that Jesus is pre-eminent to God??....

mary called Jesus Christ her firstborn....what did she mean??.......
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:45pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: your point to itsfacts is not valid... David was the last born in his family yet he was called the firstborn so are you saying you will link the mourn thing to David too?
I hope we all know that the zechariah we are deliberating on was talking about Jesus...abi was david pierced??....if he was then we can fix him in.....

Always remember that Jesus is not Just a firstborn,he is Gods Firstborn.......
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:28pm On May 27, 2013
Itsfacts: So what is your point. Am saying it is a description on how they will mourn how can you not grasp that simple thing? If I mourn for my last born like the way one will mourn for his firstborn does it make him my first born? Remove the tin foil hat dude
I understand your point clearly but I'm also bringing out a point which ofcourse you're ignoring..........
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 10:09pm On May 27, 2013
Itsfacts: Then am asking you is Jesus their first born? How do you know if some of them have children? And how do you link that statement to firstborn in terms of first born of all creation. The bible say they meaning the people and it didn't say Yahweh. You just they do olivertwist here. I go call you dbanj
Lol.........and you are not even seeing the import of the scripture you're holding to....

That scripture says they would mourn as one mourns for a firstborn.....Jesus wasn't there firstborn ofcourse but that verse surely points to the kind of person Jesus was......

And o Yes Firstborn there has so much link with Jesus been the firstborn of all creation......

Firstborn na firstborn.....

And do you want to know from the scriptures that Jesus was called Yahwehs firstborn.....??.....

Debroslink: I believe you know English very well. John was simply reporting what he read in the Scriptures. Do u expect him to use "ME" instead of "HIM" that is Jesus.
God said "they shall look upon ME whom they have pierced.
Pls, stop quoting all these 20th century versions. They are contaminated. Any bible versions that can't quote 1John 5:7 in full, is from the pit of hell.
John was quoting word for word from zephaniah...........

John said and again another scripture says

.......

It seems you need googles to really see that John was quoting from zechariah....

Or do you want us to apply your reasoning to the earlier quoted prophecy from psalm 34:20 that john also in john 19:36??
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:53pm On May 27, 2013
Itsfacts: So what you are saying is Jesus is their first born? Or it is a description of how they show mourn• I don't understand how you guys understand stuff. If I say he she talks like a man doesn't mean she is a man am describing simple.
And firstborn mentioned in that scripture does not strike a cord in your brain that it all links to Jesus??...........

Or you want to argue that Jesus isn't Gods first born??......

My brother you have no argument......

Kindly read john 19:37.....
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:51pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: I know you never understood that verse ok let me make another explanation for you.

although the Bible documents that Mary became the mother of Jesus and clearly teaches that Jesus is God, it never states, or even implies, that Mary was (or is) the “Mother of God.” For a theological syllogism to explain correctly the relationship between Mary and God, it must be based on biblical truth. We can propose correctly that Jesus is God (1) God became flesh (John 1:1,14); (2) therefore, Mary is the mother of Jesus according to the flesh (Romans 9:5), i.e., Jesus’ physical body. Jesus as a man fully depend on his father and he had the holy spirit behind him... Also he has the curse which is the flesh so yes he was a man.
And like you said was fully God and fully man.......all in one Jesus....so how is it that mary isn't the mother of GOD??....stop running around my brother.......it is either you believe Jesus was not God when on earth and we move on to other arguments or you stick to the believe that Jesus was God in flesh and then we keep arguing this issue until you either join the catholics in hail mary or you come to an agreement that mary is the mother of God.....

And I haven't heard you quary the trinitarian translations I quoted to divide romans 9:5 and also corroborating scriptures........
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:46pm On May 27, 2013
Debroslink: I base my quotation on the King James Version, not all these 20th century Bible versions. The scriptures simply said "they shall look upon ME whom they have pierced". My question still remains... who is this PIERCED Lord God?
If God is Yahweh, and Jesus is God, then Jesus is Yahweh.
Ok then let us read the apostles john quoting zechariah 12:10 so that you can abandon this zechariah 12:10 you are holding so dearly....

John 19:37

English Standard Version
(©2001)
And again another Scripture says,
“They will look on him whom they
have pierced.”

New American Standard Bible
(©1995)
And again another Scripture says,
"THEY SHALL LOOK ON HIM
WHOM THEY PIERCED."

King James Bible (Cambridge
Ed.)
And again another scripture saith,
They shall look on him whom they
pierced.

The KJV rendered it well this time...if you noticed when John was quoting from zechariah he did not quote it as ""they shall look upon me whom they have pierced" rather it he quotes and says ""they shall look on HIM whom they have pierced.....

So my bro hope you can see that the scriptures cannot contradict itself.........

Yahweh is not Jesus and Jesus is not Yahweh.....stop this blasphemy.........angry

Yahweh is the Father and God of Jesus.......
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:30pm On May 27, 2013
Debroslink: The Lord God says "Look unto me and be saved oh Israel"... "and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced..." Zechariah 12: 10

My question to you is, who is this PIERCED Lord GOD?
Before I correct you with a better rendering of that verse let us intelligently analyze the rendition u quoted from......

Does it make an oita of sense if people are looking upon the pierced person ME,but mourning for someone else altogether,HIM??....

The later part of that verse says and they shall mourn as one mourns for a firstborn son...

Is Yahweh the firstborn son??.....does the scripture not say that Jesus instead is the firstborn son of Yahweh??........

Now why don't we see this verse from another rendition...

Zechariah 12:10
Good News Translation (GNT)
10 “I will fill the descendants of David and
the other people of Jerusalem with the spirit
of mercy and the spirit of prayer. They will
look at the one whom they stabbed to death,
and they will mourn for him like those who
mourn for an only child. They will mourn
bitterly, like those who have lost their first-
born son.

Can you see consistency in this rendition??.......

Itsfacts: Dude I have seen how you react to presented facts of citation to backup claims you just find and excuse question and ask. You know our discussion on my post and how you run away from it. Now they make Romans fit the trinity lol why didn't they put the word trinity in the bible then? As matter of fact it is the new world translation that tries to twist the bible to fit watchtower doctrine like benalvino earlier mentioned!!!
Ahhhh......I didn't run away from your post...all I saw on that post was one who didn't have all d facts but was running around nairaland trying to malign the JW's....

And have you carried out my assignement by giving me the exact hebrew renderings or spellings for JERUSALEM,ELIJAH,JEHOSHAPHAT etc??.....

I hope you would be here on this trinity discuss till the end.....

We haven't sEen you drop points on this thread.....you had better get involved or go open another JW hating thread........
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 9:10pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: Where is your proof that it was mistranslated? When you see clear fact you assume it was mistranslated. I can compare all bible and new world translation and ask you to decide which one is engineered to suit doctrines... I gave a comprehensive explaination I know your stance is final I can't convince you and that is not why am discussing am just doing it cause I like discussing things and also express what I believe. If U can explain Micah for me am will be glad... The question is did Jesus ever call Mary mother? If U call your mother woman how will she feel? Mary is not eternal she existed just yesterday how can she be a mother of a God who created her... Even if you understand my explanation you will most likely act like you dont. Bible teach The Father created everything it teach Jesus created everything it teach the holy spirit created everything... It teach Jesus raise him self up from dead teach the father did teach the holy spirit did. There cannot be 2 alpha and omega... Jesus is our eternal father ERTERNAL FATHER
Lol......let's look at romans 9:5 from fellow trinitarian versions so that you can rest a bit.....and take a look at the punctuations so that you can know and see that wayo was played by trinitarians to assume that Jesus was the God over all that was mentioned.....

"Theirs the patriarchs, and from them,
according to the flesh, is the Messiah. God who
is over all be blessed forever. Amen." (NAB)

"to them belong the patriarchs, and of their
race, according to the flesh, is the Christ. God
who is over all be blessed for ever.
Amen." (RSV).

Romans 9:5
Good News Translation (GNT)
5 they are descended from the famous
Hebrew ancestors; and Christ, as a human
being, belongs to their race. May God, who
rules over all, be praised forever! [a] Amen.

Benalvino please kindly take a look at romans 9:5 from the goodnews translation....that is not the new world translation bro...and for the sake of this discuss I would never touch the NWT...we would do it here with other renditions by trinitarians......

The truth is even fellow trinitarians know that romans 9:5 has been rendered incorrectly and also the use of punctuations has been bastardized...

Can you reconcile these words of paul found in other parts of the scriptures to the romans 9:5 you're hanging on??....

"Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed
One
." (Mark 14:61).

"Blessed be the Lord, the God of
Israel
." (Luke 1:68).

"They changed the truth of God into a lie and
worshiped and served the creature rather
than the Creator who is blessed to the
ages
. Amen." (Romans 1:25).

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ
" (2 Corinthians 1:3).

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ." (Ephesians 1:3).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 1:3).

Paul would have to be a confused person to had penned down romans 9:5 to bless Jesus as GOd over all when in the rest of his letters he had always consistently blessed Yahweh the GOD and Father of the same Jesus we are discussing about.....

You can't bring out a twisted verse that contradicts the bulk of scriptures to prove a point.......

And may I inform you that the scriptures say it was through Jesus things created....Jesus himself had a beginning..Jesus' living is dependent of that of the Father who is the source of life...he was begotten...he is the image of GOD(which ofcourse would be contradictory if he is GOD)...
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 8:09pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: you guys can't seem to grasp anything... Jesus exist before Mary he created her he is eternal he is alpha and omega... And at the right time he became flesh he was God before the incarnation... So how can Mary be the mother of God?

Ok I start in another way The Son’s existence did not begin with His conception in Mary’s womb. He was alive in eternity (cf. Micah 5:2), and, at the right time in history, He became flesh (John 1:1,14). Paul put it this way: “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Galatians 4:4). On the other hand, Mary came into a time-bound world long after the creation of the Universe. She, like all human beings, was not eternal. She was not divine, not “from everlasting to everlasting” (Micah 5:2). She could not have provided an eternal nature to her Son. He is Deity. He is the “eternally blessed God” (Romans 9:5) how can U born a God that existed not only exist but created all things? Now U know why Jesus never even called her mother!!
You are turning round and round bro.....

If Jesus is GOD in flesh why can't mary whom the scriptures call the mother of Jesus be the mother of GOD??..........

The scriptures call mary the mother of Jesus from the fleshly point of view...for goodness sakes mary carried Jesus for 9 months and pushed him out..............mary called Jesus her firstborn son........

I can see you trying to run away from clear facts which would totally contradict your stance.......

And it is high time we discuss on micah 5:2 and romans 9:5......

Your understanding of micah 5:2 is so warped which would soon be corrected....

and so also for romans 9:5 which has been totally mistranslated to suit the trinity dogma but would at the end of the day contradict it............

Its all about you been ready to get down with the going....
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 8:07pm On May 27, 2013
benalvino: in addition to my earlier reply... Consider how Jesus explained His divine nature. When addressing the Pharisees, He asked them: “‘What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?’ They said to Him, ‘The son of David.’ He said to them, ‘How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord’.... If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?’” (Matthew 22:42-45). The Pharisees failed to answer the question correctly because they were thinking about the physical nature of the Messiah. While Christ was a physical descendant of David (cf. Luke 1:32; Matthew 1:1), according to His divine nature He did not have a physical father, since He Himself is before all (John 8:58). In the same way that David could not be the father of the divine Messiah since he called Him “Lord,” Mary cannot be the “Mother of God” since she calls Him “Lord” in Luke 1:38,46-47. The truth is, as Paul explains, “according to the flesh, Christ came” through the patriarchs, David, and, yes, Mary, but according to His deity, He is the “eternally blessed God” who is over all (Romans 9:5).
But mary was the mother of GOD according to the flesh na............na lie??.....

Are you doubting that mary was the mother of Jesus??......Yes or No?.....
Christianity EtcRe: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by ijawkid(m): 5:49pm On May 27, 2013
It also baffles when trinitarians who are non-catholics can't believe and accept that mary is the mother of God when they sheepishly agree that God was manifest in flesh.....

Bidam: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.1 Corinthians 2:11.

very clear from scriptures spirit of God is the same as God is Spirit with a BIG "S"

spirit of man is the same as man is a spirit with a small "s".
How does the expression spirit of man now mean man is a spirit........

It is like saying the mind of Christ means Christ is a mind

My brother that scripture does not mean man is a spirit.......

How can you obfuscate this verse to mean man is a spirit??...chei I don die........
