TravelExperiencing The Transformed Lagos Nigeria - This Is So Alluring. by ilaugh1(op): 8:46pm On Mar 11, 2009
If you live abroad or outside Lagos and you think I am talking rubbish, I will ignore you unless you buy a two wy ticket and go home to see things for yourself.

Just came back visiting Lagos after just two months, the changes I saw were just too noticeable to be ignored, there seem to be a transformation, Lagos seems to be greener, more people friendly, quieter, more orderly, is it only me noticing these changes? Solar powered street lights adorning all major roads - all thru Ikeja, Airport road all the way being extended towards Iyana Ipaja - nice traffic lights, lined and paved roads all over, am I seeing double? I in my opinion thinks Lagos is undergoing a transformation, right?

Christianity EtcRe: Redeemed Church Acquires N4bn Aircraft by ilaugh1: 12:09pm On Mar 11, 2009
So? they acquire aircraft, whats the big deal about it? What is it you are all shouting about? They stole your money or what? When politicians and business men single handedly buy such aircrafts, where were you all? Can you go on the pages of the internet to talk rubbish about them? Whats your problem, all of you? Abi you ten kobo is in the money, or what is it? Anyone whose ten kobo or dime is not in the church money has absolutely nothing to talk about, so, keep your mouth shut and shut forever.

11 years ago or so, when Bishop David Oyedepo bought an aircraft, other christian members and churches rose and spoke and cried foul, they said it was un christianly to do something like that, they branded him a prosperity preacher - now, Redeem is doing so, pray, what name will the dear Pastor be branded with?

PoliticsRe: Nigerians In Diasporas Politiking In Nigeria by ilaugh1: 7:24pm On Mar 08, 2009
I do not see and will never see what good the "diasporians" will add to the country Nigeria. They will rather exploit the country in a grandiose way never know to man. Just take a look at the way an average diasporian thinks, check the way they react to every "meaningful" development in Nigeria, you will agree with me they have nothing to offer anyone - check the discussion on the law on helmets, check their reasoning, check the discussion on Lagos introducing CCTV, check their reasoning on proposal to build light rail system in Abuja/Lagos and nationwide, check their reasoning on any project initiated by government, you will agree with me they will take us back to the stone age, they will never embark on any meaningful developmental project - they will spenad three years arguing on what to do in government, beleive me.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians In Diasporas Politiking In Nigeria by ilaugh1: 7:04pm On Mar 08, 2009
KnowAll:
Diaspoarans are citizens of a country who eke a living outside the home country. The reasons why we have a lot of Nigerians abroad is beacuse of the downturn in the economy in the mid 80's and the 90's. The essence of the post is Nigeria is now in a new political dispensation with lots of opportunities opening up, as a result a lot of Nigerians living abroad are going back home to seize these opportunities.  Diasporan is Diasporan whether u live in Fiji or in Ghana it really does not matter.
They are not going back to do anything better - I swear to God, if you pack all the "diasporians" to go back home and put them each in every available governoship, ministerial, or whatever government position, the country will be gone within 6 months, gone, finished, dead and buried, or, Poster, what good do you think they have to bear on the country? Be honest with yourself and with us here for one, how do you think they will make a difference? Or you suppose they are better because they have lived outside the country?
PoliticsRe: Nigerians In Diasporas Politiking In Nigeria by ilaugh1: 6:48pm On Mar 08, 2009
@poster

The problem with Nigeria is with the so called diasporians - but, who is a diasporian in the first case? - are they the group who sits abroad, refuses to come home, sees nothing good about Nigeria, and when they come home, they visit thier old time friends in government to see how they can share the national cake? Are these the diasporians? or globally, are you refeering to diasporians as every Nigerian who is living outside Nigeria, including neighbouring African and West African countries - are these the so called Diasporians? I contend, these are the people who made Nigeria what it is today, if your definition is any of the two I have defined above, then they are the ones who brought Nigeria to what it is, they are the ones in government, check most of the current politicians, government appointees and so, majority of them had lived outside Nigeria, wrote loads of shit about Nigeria, served one time in government, and stole and still stealing millions from government, they are the cause of the problem in Nigeria - the ones who are still in the diasdpora, they are the ones involved in credit card fraud, they are the ones involved in drug deals, they are the ones giving the country the negative image in the international community, they are the ones who goes on the pages of the internet and write  about what they havent experienced first hand, they are the ones who write and insinuate rubbish about the country, her leaders and co - they cause so much trouble, they run away from home, and instead of keeping quiet, they still go up there to make loads of noises, what is therefore the big deal about them, I ask?

They are always there, causing problem, the Nigerians at home just want to live their life, struggle and eke out a living, but these so called diasporians talk bollocks each time, they cant do but rubbish the country - so, we dont have to look at them as messiahs or something, now, the country they live is going in recession and many of them are finding their way back home, they come, they wont obey traffic rules as they do where they are coming from, they cause more problems, in short, the country is a better place without them.

Christianity EtcRe: Adeboye, Oritsejafor Vs T.b. Joshua (with Pics) by ilaugh1: 10:07pm On Mar 07, 2009
I see dog eat dog matter here, na wa o - they attack the man as if each one of them dont have issues to be discussed in a hush tone. In other churches, we see how people donate their money to build the lord's vineyard, in Joshua's church, we see how he gives money, food and shelter to the elderly, needy and in disposed. Who are these men of God to judge one another? who are they to criticise government for giving award and honour to whom honour is due? Were these not men who had fraternised so brilliantly with politicians in the past? Na wa o- Dog realy dey chop Dog leg o.

lucabrasi:
what kind of an human being are you??
are you dangote or bill gates to speak condescenly about what the guy can afford?
what are you worth,to open your mouth and say 10,000 pounds is small change,small change in a country where more than 70 million people live below the poverty line??if you dont have any credible advice to give the guy,just stroll along instead of spreading your cynicism.
these sort of comments are the reason why so many diasporians have not bothered investing in nigeria,if you dont have any advice to give the guy,i suggest you just move along,instead of the usual nigerian arrogance over nothing!! angry angry
@poster
there s a whole lot you can do with 3000pounds talk less of  10,000pounds
the first thing is not to let comments like these deter you,or make you feel like you have to over stretch yourself or start anything big,one of the most common causes for businesses failing in the first year is over stretching yourself,start very small and if you target the right demographics,you will be sorted.
there are more than enough businesses you can do in nigeria that is guaranteed to be lucrative,however the key thing is having a trustworthy individual to run it in your absence,lastly you need to consider a couple of things before you embark on anything
1.where does your interest lie?seeing as there are diverse and different business areas in nigeria e.g farming diary farming is lucrative,livestock,vegetables,e.t.c fish,snails ,

2.you could buy a tent from here and rent it out in nigeria,i know a friend who did this and is charging about 200,000 for the use and is always booked,the tent is between 4-6000 pounds however,the advantage is that all you need to do is maintain it and thats all.

3.if you dont mind getting your hands dirty,and you are not subject to immigration controls,you could break cheap japanese cars into buses and re selling in nigeria,dirty but very lucrative i could go on and on and on about business ideas but having a trusthworthy individual and where your interests lie is key

there are a lot you can do,just think of 100 and something million people and their needs,and more than enough ideas will come to you
Someone is talking about business, you are advising him to buy tent and start renting, what type or kind of human being are you? why not advice him to become a bus conductor instead? What type of business idea do you have in your head?

The only other type of idea you give the guy is for him to involve himself in a dirty business? what kind of man are you Lubra?

Na wa o - well, sorry, looks like you realy think way below what others think, a business worth while, thats what the guy is asking for, not a business of renting tent to owambe goers like yourself. hahahaha.

PoliticsAre Nigerians That Hungry Or Is Food D Only Issue To Worry About As Per Devlpmt? by ilaugh1(op): 11:21pm On Mar 06, 2009
Often in Nigeria and on this forum, when projects initiated by Government are being discussed, most people often cast aspersions on the project by saying it is not needed, they often say, instead of embarking on such projects, government should provide food for the populace instead. Is food only the issue? What about parallel development in all spheres??
