Even before Pep was given the job, they had superior talents in David Silva, De Bruyne, Kompany, Aguero, Yaya Toure, Sterling and Fernandinho.

Nobody at United was better than these players(position for position) at the end of 15/16 season. Despite this big gap in quality, Pep have gone on to spend more than United in the last 6 seasons.

How then can you compare both squads? Which super team did United have in 15/16? The one that crashed out of CL group while City were one goal away from playing in the CL final?

Because it has been divided by 90(to accommodate for Grealish’s small number of minutes played last season).

And this is xA(expected number of assists from open play) - a metric that focuses on giving credits to the player who passed the ball before the shot was taken.
