Someone said Matthw 23 is before the cross.I must say you do err not knowing the scriptures.Firstsome cut off the OT saying we live in the NT,now you cut off 95%of the 4 gospels,whats remaining?Even in whts left,others come and say ‘what Paul wrote does not apply to us today.Have you read II Timothy3v16 and co, All Scripture is, profitable, for instruction, Abi that’s also just Paul’s opinion to Timothy only.
Lets be sincere or as I fear still,Lets get born again

Ex 20:24
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.KJV
Lev 22:17-24
The LORD said to Moses, 18 "Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: `If any of you--either an Israelite or an alien living in Israel--presents a gift for a burnt offering to the LORD, either to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering, 19 you must present a male without defect from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it may be accepted on your behalf. 20 Do not bring anything with a defect, because it will not be accepted on your behalf. 21 When anyone brings from the herd or flock a fellowship offering to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering, it must be without defect or blemish to be acceptable. 22 Do not offer to the LORD the blind, the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as an offering made to the LORD by fire. 23 You may, however, present as a freewill offering an ox or a sheep that is deformed or stunted, but it will not be accepted in fulfillment of a vow. NIV

You may tell us perhap your own Pastor (if you have any) still collect your free-offering in form of bullocks and fat of ram today in order to run their church. (what an emergency of new testament "babalawos"!)
But why did you think this free-will offering can be money, and tithe should not be? You lost the understanding that tithe is the ten percent of your increase which in our present time is mostly in money form. This one thing you need to know that the reason for not giving your so much emphasized freewill offering as fat of rams today, is also what make us to be paying our own tithes in cash today.
God now increase and bless us in cash and not in rams, doves, wheat or whatever.
Nevertheless, it seems you are enjoying this your born contradiction, sorry! not at the contribution of my time again!
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooal

This is the truth we have been telling you about tithes.We no more live in an agrarian society.In our society today,for the majority,the increase/income is money

Hi friends,once in a while,I check on this thread to see how the discussion is going and I thank God for the few who are still contending for the faith.you see,when it comes to the things of God,there is no ‘Know all’.We are parts of the body and we need other parts.The Bible refers to it as the perfecting of the saints, The discussion should not be centred on ‘I must win the argument’ or have the final say.That will bring in pride and heady mind.Let God be true and every man a liar,the Word of God says “love is the fulfilling of the law”.There is no way you can love biblically without fulfilling the law.Infact,God says “I will put my laws in their hearts”.For those who do not believe in tithing,permit me to ask these questions.
-Would God be displesed with a man for paying tithes on the Jugdement day?
-Is Matthew23v1,23 the Word of God and is it part of “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded Matt28v20?
-Did Matthw 23v23 say that faith, judgement and mercy are the major/weightier part of the law?(the supposedly changed law)
-Do you trust your Pastor?II Timothy2v22b, Hebrews13v7,8,17

1John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:Hello my dear friend,the line above is from the Holy Bible and we are told that whatever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,that . . . we might have hope(Romans15).We look at the world and see it full of crime,famine,disaster,corruption and poverty.Still in the midst of this,we live.But forever oh God,your word is settled in heaven and this Word was in the beginning with God the Father.This Word is Jesus Christ.
While the world passes away,Jesus is forever settled and He says anyone who wants to settle with Him forever should come.Maybe you are the one that fornication is keeping you with the world that is passing away or you are demon possessed and you are already going naked in dressing.Now,you acting more like an insane fellow who would rather be without his clothes or in torn clothes.Do you see the demon(wicked spirits) responsible for your acts?Or is it fighting,quarreling and squabbling or malice that is keeping you with the world that is passing away?Is it greed or coveteousness,is it lying,is it lying that is keeping you with this world,this world that passeth away,what is it?Is it even the things that you think are legitimate,is it jewelry or drinking or drunkenness?smoking?Is your education keeping you with this world that passeth away and the lusts? “Oh,I can’t jeopardize my education,maybe after schooling,I’ll think about Jesus” How many people spend so many years studying a course and don’t even end up practicing the course and they still prosper doing something else.And your education is hindering you.What can it be,keeping you with this world,this world that passeth away.
Don’t you understand that it will not profit you if you gained the whole world and lose your soul?Take it or take it,the devil is going over serious trouble to make sure your soul is lost with the world that passes away.But Jesus continues to offer you a place to settle forever with him.Jesus says he that is not with me is against me and He means that because He is the TRUTH and the LIFE.And if you want to ABIDE FOREVER with God, the Holy Bible says in Matt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.He that doeth the will of God abideth forever.In God’s will and plan,He has sealed the Son Jesus as propitiation/peacemaker for sins and mediator for man before God.that is why God gave us Jesus THE WAY that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And has many as believe in Him,He gives Power to become the sons of God.How do you believe in Jesus?By ACCEPTING Jesus as (1)your Saviour and (2) your Lord,
CONFESSING your sins and REPENTING (turning away) from them and BELIEVING Jesus for the SALVATION of your soul.You come unto Him by opening your heart to Him.Then He comes into you and gives you rest.And then if you continue in Him,you are ‘forever settled’ with Him.Amen(John8v31,32).Make a wise decision now while it is today.

why the suprise?she's a talk show host that has to listen to a HELLISH load of junk everyday,so its normal that some of it permeates into her.Take heed how ye hear,thats Scripture's warning.
The truth is still confusing to a lot of people just as it was confusing to Pontius Pilate a 2 thousand years ago. He asked the question "What is the truth? I wonder why Jesus did not bother to answer that.
I think because the TRUTH was standing right in front of his eyes

There's no new thing under the sun or big deal if one of the richest women in the world doesn't know the WAY seeing Jesus said 'How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! '

IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER
In the bleak midwinter,
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, Long ago.

Our God, heaven cannot hold Him,
Nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When He comes to reign;
In the bleak midwinter
A stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Angels and archangels
May have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim Thronged the air;
But His mother only,
In her maiden bliss,
Worshiped the beloved With a kiss.

What can I give Him,
Poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd,
I would bring a lamb;
If I were a wise man,
I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: Give my heart

1. Did Jesus preach about and/or collect tithes?
2. Did the Apostles preach about/collect tithes?
3. Did Paul, very learned in Jewish laws, preachabout and/or collect tithes?
well,to start wth,I'm not omniscient to tell you all that anybody did.the scriptures says something interesting
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
that settles it. but not for the first time in this thread, let me show you something Jesus said while preaching

Mat 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do;
Mat 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
question 2 and 3,just like no1,I don't know all the sermons the apostles preached.I don't even have access to records of Apostle Andrew,Thomas,Bartholomew,etc's sermons/preaching.but I believe they must have because they obeyed Jesus.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
He spoke to them in matt23 so they must have spoken to all nations at some point.It was a gradual process though.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
tithe is part of the law.It should be fulfilled in love for God and His precepts.
I wonder what Apostle Paul wrote in his other numerous letters e.gCol 4:16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
Thats that,but i'll like you to know or 'll like to remind you that tithe is a type of offering and offering is a type of giving.today,believers give everywhere.to church,to friends,to the needy and so on.As the early church started,they continually progressed as they were fed the word and way of God by the apostles.That was the reason for the epistles and frequent visits.One of the epistles reveal that there was a time when there was even no form of giving at the church service.I believe also that there was a time in the early church when there were no choir,no ushers,no microphones,no seminars etc.But the Spirit taught them and brought to their remembrance all that the Word had spoken.and it'll do us well to follow the Spirit's guidance of our present spiritual leaders and pastors
Phil 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

The writer was writing a letter to younger people,a letter not parables or mysteries.He was teaching them.To believe that He meant a different thing from what he said would be absurd.
Enuf of disobedient christians claiming spirituality by twisting scriptures.Do I blame them,no.The fact is most of this writings are clear to any literate person until they hear some false pastor/teacher/prophet telling them something some evil spirit inspired to them.It used to be 'easy to understand but difficult to obey' except by Grace,but this last days,it is 'difficult to understand and unwilling to obey'.

see English
1Co 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoreth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
1Co 11:6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Okay For Christians To Flirt? by Image123(m): 3:02am On Apr 10, 2008
wikipedia refers to flirting as "Flirting is a form of human interaction between two people, usually expressing a sexual or romantic interest. It can consist of conversation, body language, or brief physical contact. It may be one-sided or reciprocated"
In oda words,it is a cowardly sorry, shy way of asking another person do you like me/will you sleep with me.If there's a negative reaction from the VICTIM,'at least there's no proof left' or 'you misunderstood me' are easy excuses, The fact is that the flirt is afraid of wat people(maybe including the VICTIM)'ll say,think or do.He has forgotten that God is right there.The fool has said in his heart,there is no God.
Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Flirting failed that test.

@seguno2 and KunleOshob
detruth advised us to ignore you.I think its good advice but am praying the Spirit of truth 'll not do such to you to give you up.Its being mentioned earlier that there're different forms of tithe(one tenths) but for your obvious rigmarole and closed heart,you'll have seen that.
The levites entitlement then was based on their not having an inheritance (land, assets) amongst the Israelites. Is this basis still valid for most pastors
The Bible says  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house,thats the purpose/base of tithing to the house of God.What the Word is sayin is that the Levites didn't inherit the land from the heathen nations like their brethren did.Their inheritance was from their brethren.They had land,assets,possessions.they weren't paupers/beggars.They had a higher/more important calling and their brethren were commanded to pay them for their 'work'.enjoy
Num 35:2  Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.
Num 35:3  And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

this guys they enjoy.

Jeremiah the prophet was a levite,he had a field.He bought it.
Jer 32:9  And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
Act 4:36  And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
Act 4:37  Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

read hebrews 7 :11-13 which said jesus christ could not collect tithes because he was not a levite how much less the impostors claiming to be levites today all in the name of conning people out of their hard earned money.
God,I have read that passage before and I just read it again.It still doesn't say what you're sayin.What version of Bible are you using.my Bible said
Heb 7:11  If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
Heb 7:12  For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Heb 7:13  For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

well from experience with you,I expect you to mention another verse maybe in Deut or Leviticus or so next and when someone clarifies that one, you come back to Hebrews or Malachi.I pray God'll help you.

I do not see the harm in the practise as compared to some other popular belifs.

I hear you but the goal should be to stop ALL unscriptural practices, whether harmful or harmless.
when I say I do not see the harm ,I meant there is no harm in it.Its not totally unscriptural.the wisdom of God can still direct us to some practices.It 'll be impractical to say we'll not do anything that aren't written in the Bible.we use microphones in our churches but there's no such practice in d Bible.we give tracts.These things are good and many spirit filled leaders do and use them.Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. .I've heard some leaders pray using the blood of Jesus.
But that was OT. and it was the sprinkling of the blood of animals, they were under a different convenant than we are today. Heb tells us that the blood of Christ was used to cleanse the heavenly copy of the tabernacle BUT we are not encouraged to go ahead and do this sprinkling ourselves.
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
OT is also Scripture,infact at the time of the earlychurch the OT was their Scriptures,the NT wasn't yet complete or cannonized.
At the passover in Exodus,the jews used the blood for protection and salvation.Apostle Paul says Christ is our passover.He is our lamb,a better lamb with better blood speaking better things.people have the privilege of using his blood for thier protection and salvation.
NB.The sprinkling of blood @d Exodus12 passover is different from the sprinkling of blood that the priest was later commanded to do before the altar.In Ex12,the sprinkling was done by each family not one person.If today,some apply such scriptures to thier lives,its to thier benefit and it is not wrong.That isn't to say that it is compulsory for everbody or a prerequisite to having prayers answered or getting to heaven.Its a tool.We cant all use the same tools.Today some people use the gifts of th Spirit,some others don't really fancy it.Some healing,some positive confession while some no interest.They're just ok with salvation and the goal of heaven.God bless you.

Heb 11:28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
Because this Isrealites sprinkled the blood,the destroyer wasn't able to harm them,thier family,animals and property.The passover was symbolic of their preservation and salvation.today some believers appropriate Christ,our passover's blood for their salvation,healing and preservation,even much more
Heb 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
I think thats why they plead the blood.as for if it is theologically correct or technically correct,I can't say but if there is faith,even the hem of His garment is enough to cover you not to now say His blood.so,JESoul 'I cover you with the hem of His garment'.say "hem of His garment/Amen wink
