My problem with Christians especially Nigerian Christians is that when everything is going well for you and not for another person, you feel you know how to pray pass.

I sometimes look at Christian women who are prayer warriors trying to conceive and i wonder why some people give birth easily and some don't. Is it that some people know the right way to pray or is it luck?

Another thought i sometimes have is that in the bible, especially the psalms you hear about God's steadfast love and loving kindness but in the old testament, God was not really that kind. .

I think in life, if you are not disabled in anyway or paralyzed or living in a war torn country, you need to be grateful because there is so much suffering out there.

And the saddest part is being a Christian does not make you exempt from suffering. One day your luck might just run out and you join the unlucky ones.

I have so many doubts and i can't express them to the Christians around me. Nigerians are very judgemental. People in the compound even monitor you to know whether you went to church.

Yes, i am rambling. I needed a place to pour out my thoughts.

Many people have been deceived by the health and wealth so called prosperity gospel. The Bible does not exempt Christians from the vicissitudes of life. Jesus Himself told His disciples that in the world, they would have tribulations, and that sufficient to the day is the evil there. But it says however is that God is available to help in the fire or water or trouble. It gives hope and faith that the test can turn to testimony. The story doesn't have to continue or end the way it is. And that ultimately, there's a better place God has prepared where there is no sorrow or heartache, loss or despair, death or sin. Don't be fooled by those who have no where to go but insist on you joining them.

In ancient times, most cities and palaces had two gates, the outer gate that acts as a fortification forte and the inner one. In between the two gates is a passageway where decisions are been made. It served as the court, elites sit there to discuss and share ideas. It was where contracts and transactions were made. In recent times, the gates can be likened to the House of Assembly. In summary the gates are where powers and authorities of a city gather to make decisions.

Let us take a look at other places where gates were mentioned in the bible.

1. Daniel was made Prime minister so he sat in the gates of the King ( Dan 2:49).

2. Absalom judged affairs by the gates ( 2 Sam 15:2).

3. Boaz sealed the deal in front of witnesses to marry Ruth in the gates ( Ruth 4:11).

4. Brideprice was paid at the gates (Deut 22:15)

5. Lot met the Angels while sitting in the gates ( Gen 19:1).

6. Mordecai sat at the King's gate , implying he was of high status hence incurring the wrath of his enemies (Esther 2:21, 5:9).

7. Just judgement are done in the gates ( Amos 5:15)

Note also that the noun used here is plural "gates" not a "gate" of hell. Also the verb used "prevail" means to dominate, gain influence over. A physical gate cannot prevail over its enemies. Prevailing is as a result of offensive attack. The work of physical gates rather is defense.

Hence what the passage means is, the actions and plans of authorities, powers, spiritual rulers of darkness can never prevail against the Church no matter how hard they come. They can use persecutions, trials, wars, genocide but God will ensure that his Children are never wiped away from the face of the earth till the rapture.

Also, whenever the gates of hell at your workplace, city begin to persecute the Church(body of true Christians) and they call upon the Lord their God in heaven, He will stretch his mighty hand and in accordance to his Word, upturn the situation to favour his Children.

Generally, it means the world of the unseen cannot prevail against the church. It's not really about the devil, devil has no power over the world of the unseen. He has some influence though.

Specifically, it means death or the grave cannot prevail against the Rock or the church. Simply speaking, Jesus is going to rise again and conquer death. You'll observe in the passage that it is what Jesus starts to tell His disciples.

If found in this shoe, what should the person do?

It is illegal, it is wrong, it is unethical, it is a sin. i guess you are a student. Ask God to provide for you. Or wait for your time.

Many are called and few are chosen. The way to Heaven is a narrow way. These are things we know before you were born, they are not disadvantages, weaknesses or shortcomings.

I'm a single guy ( 32 years ) who's aspiring to get married maybe in 2 to 3 years time , but news about failed relationships and my experiences gives me cold feet , I can't handle being cheated on as I just got out of one toxic relationship . Lol, it can happen. Marriage is honorable and should be worked on and preserved. Regret can be temporary if you make it so. There are people who regretted joining an organization or a school or a course but it later turned out well because they didn't quit or there was no option. Some people even regretted being pregnant or getting pregnant but it's not so when that child succeeds and is making waves 30years later. Don't remain a boy.

This is as silly as asking if you would go to work if there was no salary, or would you still go to school if it was unnecessary. The majority will stop, but there will also be people who are passionate and ready to do work or school without the general reasonable motivation.
The concept of reward and retribution motivates humans and there is nothing wrong with that. Some people will be criminals if not for the fear of shame, prison or being caught. Some others are not like that. We are not all the same. If you feel you only obey or obeyed God because of hell, it's not like that for everybody.

The concept of omniscience that you refer to deals more about knowledge not being secret or hidden, than knowledge of everything in the sense you see it.
Freewill tends to change the scope of knowledge of everything. Man is given freewill which means he can change things and redirect his trajectory and that of others. The simple illustration i tend to use is that of a pregnant woman. The learned doctor and laboratory machines can see, know and understand many things about the baby even more than the owner/parents and the fetus. To an extent, their scan and tell certain things about the child and even tell about the past and the date, state and size to be delivered. That's some knowledge and very reliable in many cases. While the doctor and machine knows all these, remember they didn't really cause it.
The second part is there are things that can change that normal and natural trajectory. The baby may still not be born or not be born in the state it was following. Some factors especially from the pregnant mother's decisions changed.
It's a microcosm of knowledge of the future. You have the God given potential to be the best in a good field but you can choose to carelessly change that and blow up your life in womanizing, drinking, gambling, all sort of indiscipline and even suicide. It can also be the other way around. Your lifestyle might give you off as a person with no reasonable future, but you can decide to do different. You change your trajectory. Like Nineveh, like Saul.

It is the job of the government, not Nigerians. The government is heavily paid to serve and to protect. There are criminals in every country all over the world. But they don't go around destroying government property for clear reasons. The reason is not because citizens are stopping them. The reasons are because
1). The soldiers and police there don't instigate riots or sponsor thugs.
2). The citizens are exposed to proper and accessible basic information, education and orientation.
3). The facility is properly guarded and no government security outfit is going to shoot at unharmed people.
4). Crime does not pay.
5). Video evidence is not dismissed as fake news or strange technology. In fact, it is what everyone fears because they know they are being watched on camera and WILL be prosecuted for misconduct.
