Nobody is against you having an opinion or a mind of your own, as you stated, but we won't tolerate every stupid opinion simply because we want everyone to have a mind of their own. Tim Cook is the current CEO of Apple and he is openly gay. Africans always have this funny notion that being gay is Western. That is wrong. Emperor Mwanga, the Kabaka II of old Buganda was an African ruler who was gay. In fact, the British banished him because of his sexual orientation. Being gay is human. It is nature. Penguins have a large gay community. Bonono Monkeys are bisexual. Gay sex accounts for 90% of all observed sexual activities in giraffes. Snails, Flamingos, Sea Lions et al have displayed strong observable signs of homosexuality. Why then is man, allegedly higher than them, so daft to note all these?

As for your confusion about my sexual orientation, I'm a straight man in love with my wife to be. Common sense is the gift I have above the lots who do not want to think right. You do not have the right the hate gays just as much as you do not have the right to bomb people. If you despise their actions, which in no way directly affects you, you can easily focus on something more pressing and important to your survival. Good morning.
Gay alert. By the way, do you have any disposition to what rapists do in their bedroom? Consent is king right? So if children do not consent to go to school or have exams, they should be allowed? Or thieving politicians consenting to defraud and loot the treasury should go ahead? Don't get mad oh, na clarification we dey.

Manner of approach is paramount when it comes to issues like this, Kachikwu can say all what Amaechi said word for word and i bet you will digest hos version better. Buying half of Lagos with 13B is just so lame coming from a transport minister.
Kachukwu and Fashola are trained lawyers, no qualms. However, nothing justifies the spending of about 17billion naira without any fruit. Here is the fruit again.

Do you know how much world class universities are built completely in the US and UK? Around 13billion naira sir. Please post us pictures of the said structures on it.The little I know, they planned to start session at one other place called Kurutie. The permanent site 2hectares where the university is to be built is not habitable yet. i stand to be corrected, kindly correct me.
You can see the link below to have idea of what they are doing with money in sane places. Note that conversion then was around 200/dollar.

I agree. Kachiukwu is the kind of man who actually takes this project on-board like he has promised only to find out that Amechi was right all along.
I am very sure that there should be a maritime university standing now if the previous government was really serious about it. They planned to chop, chopped and abandoned the project . A project that was not done for the region when oil price was $114 a barrel won't happen when oil is down to $48 a barrel
It is a good test. Let Kachiukwu take it on-board and discover the true nature of country he belongs.
Kachukwu is from Delta state so you can understand the debacle. He can't say otherwise even if he wanted to. Also, I think it's a ploy by the fg to continue the project and stop the Tompolo/revenger inspired agitation.

This is very serious, 13 billion Naira for land alone @ how much per hectare and up to how many kilometre distance the University is expected to extend and how many trillions of Naira will now be expected to build the University?
2 hectares bought from Tompolo sir. He sells original quality land.

Even though both Amaechi and Kachikwu are playing politics for different reasons, I support Amaechi in this case. Amaechi has been governor for eight years and knows what could be achieved with 13 Billion. You can't just spend 13 billion on land alone! Many communities would provide land for free (if possible) to attract federal project of this nature. So, the only motivation for paying such a huge amount is corruption. Besides, where is the wisdom in acquiring a piece of land for 13billion when such an amount could have been utilized in upgrading the institute at Oron to a full fledged university? Even if anyone intends to move forward with the university project at Okerenkoko, the land issue still needs to be sorted out. You can't just overlook such a scam (yes, a scam) and say let's move on! That's the point Amaechi was making.
It's Tompolo's village na in gbaramatu kingdom. Tompolo sold 2hectares of land for 13billion naira, money they used to build complete UK universities. Well, he sold it to the hero GEJ. Hero can buy nokia 3310 for 1billion naira if his cronies are selling, that's why he's an hero.

If fresh funds must be injected into the project, then sighting it in any of the Niger delta states aint a problem. Kachukwu is only fighting for his state-Delta while Amaechi is fighting for posterity. Kachikwu ought to bring this up at the federal executive council rather than overstep his ministry.
Apparently, they're acting film for us, actor and boze. Kachukwu cannot spend money building university that is not approved in budget. They're trying to calm the situation and move forward.

A Maritime University is very important because a lot of people in that region work as Mariners. This University will bring more professionalism to that area of work.

I believe we should stand by the cancellation of the contract and get the retrieval of the money going. As soon as the EFCC is on it officially, Governor Amaechi should propose and lobby for the Establishment of a Maritime University in the Niger Delta.

He knows how important this project is in the heart of the Niger Deltans. That will be a plus for this government in the eyes of the people of the region.
You have done very well with this thread. You can also look up my reply in one other thread pertaining to the same issue. Kachikwu is from Delta state so i understand his phlight. Even if he is against it, he cannot say so. Warri Avengers will just use his family and village palace to do practice. It's a political move by the FG to continue the Maritime University and stop the agitation.

Politics › Re: Ngige Is A Potty Trained Minister: Reno Omokri by Image123(m):
Reno is a loud mouth liar calling himself a pastor. You can read the OP of this thread for further clarification.

I mean, the government directing banks not to sack? Threatening to revoke their licenses? Are we not supposed to be a democratic country?
Does this one think democracy means spineless cluelessness? Revoking of licences is lawful and constitutional when certain terms are breached, it is not an action only done in military era.

The banks are downsizing because the economy is tanking. The way I see it, the only way the Federal Government can ‘direct’ private firms not to downsize is by fixing the economy!
What was this guy again, Special Adviser to the President or so? What a waste of funds. Your 'only way' is not the ONLY way, this is not Bible or Jesus Christ mr man. If you lack ability to think outside the box, others do.

Those of us who have long memories will remember Mr. Ngige as a mild mannered once- upon-a-time political godson of Chris Uba, once a political titan in Anambra state. Mr. Ngige is famously remembered for sheepishly going to Okija shrine with his Bible at the behest of Uba to declare allegiance to his godfather.
We remember him as the anodyne governor of Anambra who (per his own admission) was locked up in a toilet because he was considered a naughty boy by his benefactor and would have remained there were it not for the intervention of Nigeria’s then Vice President who ordered the then Inspector General of Police, Tafa Balogun, to rescue the kidnapped governor from his forced potty training!
Now, a man who allowed himself to be consigned to a toilet is now brave enough to threaten others because his new godfather does the same.
Off point attempt to ridicule or mock the messenger. Unbecoming of a mr mind of Christ.

At this juncture, permit me to give a crash course in history for those who do not know the genesis of the current crisis in the banking sector. The previous administration, led by Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, had come up with the idea of a Treasury Single Account (TSA). The idea was to have a single account for the government (with a few exceptions) as a way of minimising the possibilities for fraud and to have a real time view of how much the government has in its kitty. Because of the delicate nature of the banking sector (any banking sector, not just the Nigerian banking sector), it was planned that the policy would be implemented in phases so that the sector does not experience a shock.
But while it was still implementing the policy, that administration’s mandate ended and was not renewed and the succeeding administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari, in its own wisdom, decided to pull out ₦3 trillion (about $18 billion) from the Nigerian commercial banking sector in less than a year.
The TSA has been mouthed for so long, i can remember as far back as 2012, just like giving us electricity, or refinery, or 2nd Niger Bridge and other such promises that the last administration made. They clearly lacked will to do these things, just talk. BTW, the TSA is an IMF idea, copied from IMF by the GEJ administration. So we are tired of all these continual glorying in introducing the idea. It is like OBJ or Abacha glorying in bringing GSM to Nigeria. Find achievement please. What year do they not sack en masse in Nigerian banks? What shock is this one talking about? NOIweala that was already having high blood pressure and borrowing to pay salaries, and screming that tough times are coming. What does a twitter pastor know about economic shock? The banks were clearly ripping the government. They should be responsible enough to find ways of making money legitimately. Not paper show. You take government money to trade in stocks and bonds, and the same government have to give you massive profits and great rates. So you keep delaring humongous dividends and profits at the detriment of government every year. then they say we have a good economy, and fixed rates and Tbills are high and good. FG could simply not continue that rubbish. It is not sustainable. Like who does that? Banks should think of ways to make normal profit like it obtains in sane climes, instead of these lazy ripping of the government going on for years. That is what the TSA did, and the banks stopped smiling to the bank literally.

The sudden loss of such huge funds threw the Nigerian financial sector (not just the banking industry) into a tailspin and the industry has not yet recovered and it is doubtful if it will recover anytime soon. Even in humans, it is not wise to suddenly withdraw a drug addict from his dependent drug in a ‘cold turkey’ manner. Such an act is inimical and could hurt the addict much more than it helps him and would cause withdrawal syndromes that may even lead to death, which is why drug rehabilitation centres recommend gradual withdrawal if the rehabilitation process is to be successful. What the Nigerian banking sector is going through is similar to sudden drug withdrawal and it needed to have been rehabilitated, not threatened.
If you doubt me, Google the most common signs of drug withdrawal. The first sign Google will likely bring up for you is ‘shakiness’. Another sign is ‘depression’. A third sign is ‘fatigue’. Each of these three signs apply to Nigeria’s banking sector. It is very ‘shaky’ at the moment. Banking stocks are ‘depressed’ and there is a lot of ‘fatigue’ in the industry because funds are not as available as they used to be and shareholders are breathing down the neck of management to cut waste.
Nigeria and the banks are not drug addicts. What sort of foolish analogy is this? Should we apply same to thieves and serial rapists? This notice me fellow should get over the electoral loss and the loss of his federal government job. If banks disobey ILO laws, they deserve to be sanctioned. This is legal in any developed part of the world.

My dear, I think you are wrong for your above statement.
Reasons: 1. When 2014 national conference started and ended, these men and PDP never kicked against the conference.
2. GEJ who is still a PDP man as am writing to you wholeheartedly accepted the 2014 Confab report.
3. When GEJ was handing over authority of Nigeria to PMB, he (GEJ) made an interesting statement that 2014 confab report is so precious...

GEJ deceived the gullible with his politically organised national conference. He didn't do anything about a conference he organised January 2014.He kept the report probably in the store room or dustbin area. People have been dreaming about the solution to Nigeria's problem. Some said democracy, some said prayers, some rebranding, some diversification, some sovereign national conference, now true federalism. There is no click it solution to Nigeria's problem. People should stop impeding government. If you really need stuff, go to the national Assembly. Don't blame Buhari, get 2third of the house to give you true federalism.

Christianity Etc › Analyticengine's Issues. by Image123(op): 2:11am On Jun 12, 2016
Had to create a thread for your issues as most of what you expanded do not really relate to the other thread. If you have issues with the thread title, you may say.

AnalyticEngine:
That Trinity is not a fundamental doctrine in your denomination doesn't mean it isn't in others. Obviously, you are among the few minority that don't consider Trinity a core concept. Churches like Ecwa, RCCG, etc will not agree with you on this one. You might want to also look up: christianity.about.com/od/christiandoctrines/a/basicdoctrines.htm
You miss the point. i clearly stated here that no doctrine is a jamboree or unimportant. You said that it is a CORE christian concept. NO. Doctrines are not CORE in christianity. The core thing, the foundational, basic, inexcusable things in christianity are faith in Jesus and repentance. There is no other foundation. You can believe, understand and teach all the correct doctrines and go to hell. The main thing, required of every christian is first faith in Jesus/God and repentance. This what you find in the Bible, i answer to the Bible not to weblinks.

So those scientists that believed the earth was flat, were they right? Were they not disproved by Galileo? That's exactly what will happen the moment man sustains enough intelligence to unravel the mysteries behind what we call the spiritual realm
You missed the point yet again. That a doctrine/teaching is confused, or that a fact is confused/misunderstood does not mean that there is no truth or original. i helped you by giving you secular/physical examples. People's confusions and arguments about the shape of the earth do not make the planet earth a jamboree or invalidate the truth about the shape and size of the earth. People's confusions and arguments about Trinity and other doctrines does not make the true doctrine unreal.

All you are doing here is to force jive scriptures to suit what you believe. The same way I can prove that God is blind by saying; if God is love and love is blind, therefore God is blind. When given a result, series of explanations could be postulated to explain it. Apart form coming in the spirit and power of Elijah, all the other similarities that you claim exist between John and Elijah are boundless and unconfined and any prophet can fit into it especially Jeremiah, Isaiah and even Elisha. Nehemiah, Ezra the scribe etc. can even fit into it. The jews were known for always backsliding right from the time of Moses, to Joshua, to the Judges, up to the birth of Jesus and prophets were sent regularly to warn the people. In all sincerity, your usage of the Holy Spirit to interpret scripture is a nothing but a scheme to dodge discrepancie and turn the table around, telling people who don't agree with clear cut discrepancies that its because they've not got the Holy Spirit that's why they cannot understand. I am however glad that you admitted that John is not Elijah and that was all I was trying to point out.
You showed your naivety about Jesus not coming back as the same and that has been cleared, hopefully these others too will be cleared. We're making progress. i did not force the scriptures, i simply showed you scriptures you did not consider before. You took one verse and are trying to give it the meaning that you want. That is not how scriptures are studied, else you will eternally have tons of issues. If my Prof tells me how to use an equipment, i listen and make progress. Any good Bible scholar will tell you about reading and studying scriptures CUMULATIVELY. That is, taking into consideration all similar and related verses to get the best meanings. You took only Malachi 4v5 and missed the gist like those priests from Jerusalem. you should listen to the rest of the gist from Zechariah and Jesus. BTW, the Bible does not say that "love is blind"so i don't know the rubbish you are talking about. You asked "What similarity does John have with Elijah? Aside being a prophet, what other element can we find to be common between the duo? " i gave you the similarities, now you shift goal post to some other excuse.
Please state Bible passages where the mentioned similarities between John and Elijah are seen in Jeremiah, Isaiah and even Elisha, Nehemiah, Ezra? Thanks. To help you, here they are again.
(a). the same kind of 'eccentricity' and crudity. (b). they both turned the hearts of the people to God in a time of backsliding and national lukewarmness. (c). both hated for speaking the truth to the king. (d). Elijah was representative of all the prophets and John himself was the greatest prophet ever.
My usage or reference to the Holy Spirit is a fact written in scriptures, i did not drum it up. You need the Spirit of God.
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

i never disagreed that John is not Elijah. Nobody did. Everyone, including Jesus knew and accepted taht Elijah is a different human being from John the baptist. Only the literally 'jew people' from Jerusalem thought John was Elijah. i'll say it again to gladden your soul again, JOHN IS NOT ELIJAH, he came in the Spirit and Power of Elijah, this is the teaching of scriptures, be a good student.

There you go. You never quoted matt 16:27. I was the one that deliberately edited your post by incorporating it in my reply, hoping you'll see my point clearly. It looked as though it was your original post. And because you were careless enough not to compare your original post with the one I mentioned you, you jumped into premature conclusion. It then served as a base point from which you shot your arrows of judgement about my personality. Now in your own judgement, who is the one with the mistake here? This is exactly how you perceive people based on what you sense and claim it is the Holy Spirit leading you. This is how you confidently jump into gullies with both feet only to meet disaster.
You missed the point yet again. Always try to clearly put your NOTE showing me that you have edited or truncated my post, thanks. My point was that i read the verse earlier. It is not new knowledge, or something shocking, or a discovery. You are not the first person i will read this question from or answer. This not even a matter of this year or decade, so it is a passage i am very familiar with the context. As you can see, i went ahead to quote other parts of the same chapter showing that i had read it earlier. Your including the verse27 in my post made me think i even quoted it. Because i recall reading it and even other similar passages which i quoted but you removed. i was certain that i quoted more than one verse, so your putting it easliy made me think that was already quoted by me. It takes nothing away from the fact that i stated, i had already read the passage in full. i mentioned that you you are making mistakes because of your omniscient/omnipotent talk. This was not to show you i am more clever or spiritual or omniwhatever than you. The point i tried to get across to you is that you are clearly capable of making mistakes, and you should not think you are not making some comprehension mistakes in your issues with christianity. This has nothing to do with being led by the Spirit, stop being jealous. i'll gladly jump into premature conclusions of me quoting scriptures a thousand times and again, that's a very good mistake to make.

This has been fixed. You now know who needs to be corrected. I make no claims of knowing everything about the bible, one thing I know for sure is that if there is a possibility that there is God, then he definitely does not meet the bible description.
This has been fixed. You now know who needs to be corrected. I make no claims of knowing everything about the bible. The atheists have defined God, God doesn't fit into their definitions, therefore God does not exist, gbamstamped.

Thanks for schooling me in english. You seem to pride yourself in explaining things that are weakly relevant. Obviously, if we are to take a holistic view of the prophetic revelation of rapture and the second coming of Jesus, we will network scriptures from genesis to revelations. But the subject at hand is pivoted on the link between verse 27 and verse 28 of Matt 16 and so these two verses are sufficient enough to make a holistic analysis of the subject at hand, that is the link between verse 27 and verse 28 and not necessarily the prophecy. According to these verses, the Son of man will come with his angels and some of the listeners will witness it. That is what is implied there.
You seem to be very courteous, i do not even recall or think that i schooled you in english. Is it a virtue you learnt as a christian? Hold on to it, it is nice. Now, PROPHECY is not irrelevant or weakly relevant. In fact, the scriptures are referred to as a Word of prophecy. So understanding it is important, you need the Spirit of God, and a truly holistic view to understanding it well. PROPHECY is not always in context, in fact it is rarely in context. Find time to meditate on the bolded until you understand it, i cannot help you without that.

But Jesus later explained what he meant by the yeast of the pharisees right? Jesus taught the crowd in parables but explained to his disciples in private. It is from the archives of these explanations that the bible was made. This means that what we have in the new testament is the gospel that has been churned for our assimilation except for most parts of the book of Revelations. This means that the contents of the new testament is largely unequivocal and straight forward. But according to you, areas that clearly don't match are to be understood under the lens of the Holy Spirit's guidance. I laugh.
Oops, you missed the point over and over again. The point here was obviously that Jesus was often misunderstood, even by His disciples. Spiritual things are not always in the realm of reasoning, i quoted a scripture to this earlier. Many times, it supersedes reasoning.
Mat 16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.

Jesus said that His Words were/are Spirit and life and that the flesh does not profit in understanding Him. This applies to everyone, including disciples. Anyone telling you that only rapture or revelation is spiritual is only deceiving you. Maybe it is the devil, that is what he usually does, deceive.
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

You have said nothing. Please read matt 16:27-28 again and if you still think it refers to the transfiguration, then that's your problem. A friend of mine also postulated that it referred to stephen's encounter with Jesus when he was about to be stoned. I am sure if I meet another christian, he'll cook up his own customised explanation all in an effort to prove what he has chosen to believe. Seriously, If christianity gives you peace of mind and happiness, please continue being a christian and don't stop. Do what will make you happy and what works for you. I have no issue with what your believe. I only have issues with people enforcing things that cannot and has not been verified as true.
Some other popular explantion BTW is that it refers to the period of and after Pentecost. You directed the question to me, so i have given you the explanation and understanding i have of it. Peter, James and John saw the glorified Christ, how He is in His kingdom during the transfiguration. That was the purpose of the transfiguration in the first place. Peter and John later affectionately wrote about this experience in similar vein.
2Pe 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
2Pe 1:17 For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there CAME such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
2Pe 1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

Mat 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Mar 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

The differing explanations and understandings have little or no consequence in the scheme of things. It is not what saves you or takes you to heaven or answers your prayer. It should not give anyone headache or cause anyone to backslide or have tons of issues. Of course i would continue to follow Jesus, were you hoping to make me an atheist before or what? i am satisfied with Jesus.

So my concern for creation is now humanist? I am sure on the flip side of this argument, you will gladly say we are created in God's image and as such have his mind. I laugh again.
Your concern has always been humanist, except you do not know what humanism is like i suspect. Here is the summary of your quote and that's what humanism is all about "What we call miracles are simply advanced science and one day it will be unravelled. //he now says it is God who gave him the job. Christians are truly gullible." i do not think i should be schooling you in your beliefs. We are created in the image of God but we do not all have His mind, unfortunately. Many have also distorted the image.
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

There is definitely a process that lead to miracles and studies are currently ongoing to explain them. The truth is the world does not need empty talk. Even the bible says the kingdom of God is not in words but in power. Scripture must be seen to be fulfilled in order to compel men to believe. It is not just about the signs, but the signs are integral if one is to believe in what christians preach. We look for signs because the bible has said these signs shall follow them that believe. We have seen millions of christians who believe but no sign is following them. The usual explanation is the one you have iterated severally. And that is, "they are not true christians" According to the bible, there must be an evidence to what one has faith in. If God's power is truly available, it should be able to cure all kinds of sicknesses but when some are not healed, the most common explanation for people not receiving healing is 'lack of faith.'

Note; I have truncated some of your posts to avoid tedium of quotations.
When you ask (7. If God wants us to live by faith, why did he give us brains to think and rationalise issues? ), you have defined faith to be without thought or rationality. Thinking is work if you do not know. When you imply that faith is needless when one works hard, you have defined faith. Your perspective clearly states that faith should not go with work or thinking, that once you have faith you do not need to think or work hard, and faith will/should do the magic.
i did not conclude that you never attended crusades, i said "IF you need more proof, seek more exposure." If you think there are no miracles or that folks are lying about testimonies, go to where such testimonies are usually shared, simple. Go ahead and carry out personal investigations and interviews, or bring along your own issues and challenges to verify.
You said that "Faith rarely works for things that we can visualise" and that "The only sign that believers love to display is speaking in tongues". So i simply suggested that you go to places where they usually do more than speak in tongues, places where they talk about things you can see, financial miracles, health miracles like visible lameness, blindness, paralysis, stroke, tuberculosis, shorter leg, barreness, vomitting of hair, animals etc. Go there and confirm how faith and prayers work. Chai! Nigerians will never see black and call it black as long as it does not benefit them.
This describes you exactly as will be shown shortly, when you see wrong, learn to call it wrong and stop being sentimental and tribalistic.

How many oil well in niger delta is owned a someone from there? You have Ndimi from Borno who donates $900,000 to American University being an owner of oil well in niger delta.
i do not have access to information on people who own oil wells, so i cannot conclude on rumours. If you have concrete proof on owners of all oil wells and where they are from, kindly present it. i'm certain any Nigerian was not barred from owning oil well under fulfillment of whatever criteria required. It is not a crime for a Northerner to own property, it is constitutional. If you have money, go and buy your own and stop hating.

Buhari came, the first action was to cancel niger delta university, cancel scholarship to them but turn and take the oil in their backyard to sponsor his numerous oversea trips.

Anyway if the government has done what is necessary they wouldn't have turn to this.

Asking me justice from who for who shows you are not sincere to yourself.
Do not be DISHONEST and please be factual and objective. The Maritime University cancellation happened around January this year, not the first action of Buhari as he came. The proposed university was cancelled on good and logical reasons. Goodluck jonathan deserves a place in prison and in hell for putting this country through much trouble. He had over 5years to build a Maritime University but never built one. He only approved the so called University about a week to his exit. Why should such enormous burden be placed on another government? It is akin to a mischievous driver telling you to collect change and many goodies from someone else that knows nothing about your arrangement, even worse.

You can read this May 21, 2015 news showing that Goodluck Jonathan just signed/approved the Maritime University few days before handing over power to Buhari. He created the problem on ground. He was privy to the economic situation on ground, and simply set up Buhari for failure, knowing Buhari cannot build that University and it will cause restiveness. You approve NMU the first of its kind not only in Nigeria, but in the sub-Saharan Africa few days before leaving, promising Niger Delta folks heaven and paradise. You never did anything substantial for five years, but you are telling the gullible fellows that "see, i have signed oh, all that remains is for them to build." Anybody can sign anything. i can as well sign for 10 refineries before the year end, or the defeat of all militants and terrorists. FEC can approve all that, that is all talk. That is very unfair and at best a dream. When operational, the institution will offer specialised maritime-related courses like Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, Nautical Science, Transport Technology and other courses relevant in the marine industry. It is like offering and promising to build Heathrow airport and disappearing.
Why did the government cancel/postpone it? One there is no money for such a huge project at the moment. Two, it is laced with so much fraud. How can 17billion naira already be spent on the project and all we can see is one uncompleted building? This is a school YET TO take off. 17billion naira to get two hectares of land in Kurutie. Such fraud is crazy and criminal. Even world class universities in Europe and America do not cost up to 17billion naira. As at the time this money was spent, even using exchange ratew of 220/$ is $77million to buy land. How much will it cost to build and buy equipment? The feasibility studies had already been carried out. The probe was by by the Federal Ministry of Transport, long before Ameachi became minister. The link is there in case you do not know before. Ameachi simply did the responsible and rational thing. That's a patriot decision. Ameachi announced this before the Senate when defending budget or so in January. It is indeed a misplacement of priority and a waste of resources. This decision is what the Warri Avengers and their sponsors are holding unto to scatter the country and sabotage its economy. It is criminal, and these political sponsors who shared 17billion and are expecting more from the project should be brought to book. They are responsible for the current agitations in Delta and Bayelsa states.

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Does God Not Heal/help Like He Promised? by Image123(op): 8:57pm On Jun 10, 2016
AnalyticEngine:
If the relationship between Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit is been confused, what makes you think other core doctrines are not still jamborees?
Trinity or any other christian doctrine is NOT a jamboree and i never implied that. You claimed that it is a CORE christian concept and i said , no it is not. What is CORE and fundamental in christianity are the basics of faith in God and repentance, which is the true gospel. Others are not foundational or core. Anything can be confused, like the beginning of the earth, or the shape of the earth, or the composition of the Sun, or even your name. It does not mean that the truth does not exist.

I wonder why the so called gospel will be equivocal. Your response was carefully constructed to conceal the fact. Jesus said he will return, christians believe he will. Similarly, God had said elijah would come, but instead he sent John the baptist. What similarity does John have with Elijah? Did John perform even one single miracle like Elijah? Aside being a prophet, what other element can we find to be common between the duo? By your logic, it is possible that at resurrection, someone else migh come instead of Jesus claiming to be in the spirit of Jesus
The Word of God is wonderful, and His name is Wonderful, so it is no surprise that you wonder. i did not conceal anything, i only explained the facts to you. In the higher institution, i had this Professor who also had this close guy to him. The guy wasn't really a staff or Assistant Lecturer, but he was like the Prof's boy. If you wanted less issues, you'd go to this guy. He knows what the Prof wants, says and means. Even though Prof addresses us in English language, and we speak the same local dialect, this guy still understands what exactly Prof means and expects us to do. And when we follow him, he's almost always right.
In a similar vein, even though the Word of God is written in English language, one and basically, we need the help of the Holy Spirit to understand clearly. And two, people like us who understand God better and are like teachers of the Word, know what God is saying more than the rest of us. So, you should move closer to us(lol) if you want to understand. i'm kidding, but the point is, you sometimes need teachers to explain things to you, even though they are written using normal alphabets and numbers. Jesus said He will return, He said it many times. Elijah NEVER said that he will return. To be clear of any doubt, the angels said THIS SAME Jesus will return, so it is not another person or someone else.
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

It is the Word of God that said Elijah will come, it is the same Word of God that we should look to for interpretation of what is meant. That same God explained what is meant to Zechariah the father of John. Jesus Christ explained to His disciples. So if you are not taking their explanation, who will answer? Here is the prophecy.
Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Mal 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Here it is clearly told to Zechariah even before John was born.
Luk 1:16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
Luk 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

i usually tell people not to just take one passage or line of the Bible and rigidly run away or insist. Take the whole Bible together, take the full revelation. Here is the issue been explained to Zechariah that his son John is the one been referred to, and that he will go in the spirit and power of Elijah. Jesus Himself who is the Word clearly affirms it that it is John that is referred to. Even if John says 1+1=2 and Jesus says it is 4, we know that Jesus automatically overrides John. There is no controversy or contest, Jesus is Lord and even John attests to this. However, that is not even the situation here. Jesus says.
Mat 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
Mat 17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
Mar 9:13 But I say unto you, That Elijah is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

What similarity does John have with Elijah? John came in the spirit and power of Elijah. John and Elijah exercised the same kind of 'eccentricity' and crudity. More importantly, the both turned the hearts of the people to God in a time of backsliding and national lukewarmness. That is the power. Miracles are not necessarily power. The way man reasons is different from God's. What is powerful to God is the turning of men's hearts in repentance and national revival, which both Elijah and John brought. They were both hated for speaking the truth to the king. Elijah was representative of all the prophets and John himself was the greatest prophet ever, according to Jesus. Finally, look at John's answer and the question. In fairness, John was right, he was not Elijah. It is not a reincarnation or abiku. They are two different human beings.
Joh 1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.

I meant omniscient, thanks for pointing that out.

Clearly, you did not read the preceding verses. I have included verse Mat 16:27 so you could take a holistic view of the subject. Jesus was talking about the end of days. He said he will come, give rewards and he also promised that some of his listeners will witness it. The only explanation to this issue is that some of his listeners are still alive till date or rapture has taken place. If the bible is true anyway. Please, read chapter 16 again with an open mind.
i read and even quoted the preceding verse 27 before you. You can check up again in your last reply to me. Clearly, you are making mistakes. My point being that you do not know it all neither are you above mistakes. Therefore, allow yourself to be corrected in areas where you clearly do not have the required understanding. PROPHECY is not always in context, in fact it is rarely in context. When you talk about the Word of God, you need the Spirit of God, and a truly holistic view to understanding it well. Holistic is not just two verses BTW, holistic is in congruence and with respect to every other passage of the Scriptures. So evidently, no be small work. The Holy Spirit usually makes it a piece of cake though. One thing clear about Jesus's 'speeches' is that they are not like your everyday composition or novel or comprehension passage. The people who heard Jesus live often misunderstood Him, so your case is not surprising. Even His disciples had a challenge. It is evident in the same chapter 16 that you said i should read. If you had indeed read it with an open mind, you will see that most of the words there were not even in context.
Mat 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mat 16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
Mat 16:9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

Jesus is clearly talking about bread, but it is a different kind of bread. All the disciples missed it with their reasoning. His Words are Spirit and Life, not just reasoning. People misunderstood Him severally, and even His personality. Even when Peter mentioned His personality, He could only have understood by the Spirit according to Jesus. Same chapter.
Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

The same chapter, Peter misunderstands Jesus yet and begins to rebuke Him. And in a most surprising move, Jesus talks to Satan in Peter.
Mat 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savorest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

It is very clear that what Jesus says is not just about context or structure or lexis, it is more a thing of spiritual understanding. Peter, James and John were taken to see Jesus transfigured about a week after He said so. Of the three men, only Peter recorded this and his record in Mark's gospel makes a more accurate rendering. You can see it is in another paragraph/division/chapter.
Mar 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Mar 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Those three saw Jesus Christ in His transfigured, glorified, Kingdom of God state. They saw Moses and Elijah and heard the voice of God. they did not even want to leave there again. This is what is meant, this is the explanation.

It is not as though I didn't believe or I just don't want to believe. I was a firm believer and I had faith. I don't expect you to believe me. Christians would say I was not truly born again or just a nominal Christian and all that...but the fact is I was a christian who has preached, taught and spread a message I thought was true until I decided to seek for truth with an open mind. If you look at the rate at which people are dying of starvation, you would know that if God truly existed or gave a damn about humanity, it wouldn't be so. No degree of offence warrants such negligence and even if it does, why not God take their life if He cannot/doesn't want to help them? Instead, God is giving people promotion in urban areas because people are sowing seed and paying tithes (though there is no way of verifying that their success is as a result of fulfilling some divine obligations).

Matt 6:31-33 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

How can you reconcile Matt 6:31:33 with a loving God who created the universe when there are people dying of lack of food, without saying "God in his infinite wisdom knows why"? According to the bible, God created the universe and everything he says will come to pass. If only God can cause crops to produce food in these arid regions where people are dying of starvation, one could at least present a reasonable argument in favour of God's existence.

The Truth is there is hidden knowledge that some influential people are concealing. They are personalities who are custodians of hidden truths under the guise of the God-Satan paradigm. What we call miracles are simply advanced science and one day it will be unravelled.
Why should i not believe you, i'm a believer, you are the unbeliever nah. What is mine own with disbelieving that you were a firm christian? i have said for instance that i believe HardMirror(that one that ran away from me) was a christian, but i have not been able to say the same for many other copy and paste atheists here, whose only thing was that they were born in church or followed their parents to church, or were religious. That is the usual case, most of them try to tell us that they were once strong christians but they cannot show it. They had no testimony, they never met the Lord or repented or gave their lives to Jesus. They were just people who found themselves in church or in choir. If you were born again, good for you. You made a mistake to backslide. People like dankol and i cant remember this guys name that wrote a parody about Job, they did not backslide. Backslide from where nah, they were simply religious until they found something else.
The perspective of God is simply different to yours. The LORD was teaching you that people need more than food to live--they need every word that the LORD has spoken. People need more than food to live. If hunger is your problem, it is not God's problem. There is enough food and land in the world to sustain us all. You may die hungry and go to Heaven. you may never be hungry on earth for your 99years on earth, but have to beg Lazarus for eternity for a drop of water. So all that hunger perspective, you've got it all wrong. Your humanist viewpoint and enthusiasm for autonomy is not a luxury normally available to the majority poor. We're thinking Sustainable Goals, right? Your viewpoint is not sustainable.

The Faith-concept was carefully designed to trap monotheists in their gullibility. Faith rarely works for things that we can visualise in order to attest to its authenticity. Faith will cure headache, heal internal diseases but will not cure a man with bow leg, broken bones, skin infection etc. pls let's be reasonable. The only sign that believers love to display is speaking in tongues and that is because any Tom and Dick can speak any kind of gibberish and have 'Faith' that he is speaking with God. In my university days (I attended Fellowship of Christian Students), we often get admonished on the need to lean on God for success but we must also work hard. That's the problem. A hardworking and diligent person will succeed irrespective of his/faith! When a person works hard, makes good grades and secures employment, he now says it is God who gave him the job. Christians are truly gullible. If I have passion for something (which christians sometimes call faith), I go for it and I succeed.

I don't need to create another thread for this. I had long forgotten about the existence of your thread until you mentioned me. In future, if you don't want me to post on your thread, don't mention me.
You are clearly limited and lack exposure. Go out and see miracles, at least you attest to the fact that faith can cure headaches and heal internal diseases. Thanks be to God. i would rather have a faith that cures headaches and heals heart disease, kidney problem, liver problem, sickle cell anemia etc. The 4 testimonies in my OP are also proof that faith works and God heals all kinds of sickness and hears prayer. If you need more proof, seek more exposure. Stop being a lazy armchair critic. Go out. For instance, go to Living Faith Otta, or Redeemed Campground, or Mountain of Fire, or even the more conservative Deeper Life. Go to any of their crusadelike programmes and see things for yourself. Go and interview the testifiers of mind boggling testimonies, or bring your own problems to test. i'm not recommending/condemning any of the churches mentioned BTW. Reasons for mentioning them are personal experiences that miracles take place there, and they are fairly popular. Whether they have correct doctrine or teaching is another matter, but for sign seekers like you, you can go and enjoy yourself instead of the continual myopia you subject yourself needlessly to. Faith without works is dead, even the Bible says that. Your perspective and definition of faith as something that should not include works is alien and from your bedroom. Faith does not say you should not work hard or think, in fact it encourages you to.

I cant believe a muslim is talking about people minding their business. In d north (I schooled in Zaria) girls in jeans got stoned and harrassed. People got assaulted for eating during ramadan. In a class public forum just yesterday, I was warned by a supposed muslim about my comments about a post on female hygiene because "he is observing ramadan" and u hav d temerity to talk about business minding? Mind u all of us on dat class forum have MASTERS degrees. I'm sure u read d man that was almost butchered to death in kaduna recently by Muslims because he ate during ramadan in public? When it comes to minding 'business' in dis world, everybody knows muslims NEVER MIND THEIR BUSINESSES and thats why there is so much chaos wherever they are found. The only luck the world has is that Jesus christ abolished the an eye for an eye injunction of Moses. Definitely the whole world wld have been blind by now!
hehehehehehehe, true.

The highlighted statement up there is their main problem. No Muslim will bother himself about whatever anybody decides to wear, but reverse is the case with many non-muslims. Like what is anybody's business if my daughter wears hijab to school? Is she wearing it on anybody's head? Or is her hijab biting anybody or what? I don't get it
The school system normally should be a place and process of discipline and uniformity. Everybody should stick to their school uniform and rules normally. When every pupil comes with whatever they like hijab, gele, face cap, ring, shoe, pants, boots, toys and games, it erodes the primary goal of discipline and uniformity.

I'd source recent news on recaptured territory. Give me time as this forum's search function is good as useless.

Who do we believe? Every time I hear the NA defeats boko haram I see news immediately stating boko haram has captured another town. This news has one above it stating the military has chased boko haram out of another territory.
We need factual news we can lay trust on about this situation. Right now it seems like both sides are on an ongoing debate over who can gain the masses' belief.
Where did you see news of boko haram capturing towns?
