To think that in reality, you're the one twisting, turning and squirming just that i decided not to mention it. See how we started with GEJ's 2015 ambition which you deflected to 2013. i answered you on 2013 and you went to Borno elders. i answered that again and you ran to Buhari&APC. i replied only for you to seek refuge in US and UK, like they erase the fact that the Nigerian Army were killing and arresting too many innocents. Twist again mr, I'm enjoying your dance.

I'm not aware of such blame. BTW, the past government is not an outsider, most of the issues on ground started under them.
Also to add, indeed the army was initially going about the boko haram fight the wrong way. They were killing and arresting many innocents. This is not just buhari's opinion but a fact attested to by amnesty international and many other international bodies and news agency.

Duh, we both know GEJ was soft on boko haram and even called them his brothers at a point. I'm sure you have that picture as well in your archives. You cannot blame outsiders for government failure. Government didn't wait, look for, or follow northern elders or buhari when they supposedly started winning the war on boko haram few weeks to election. GEJ appeared to boss around only when his ambition was on the line, simples.

Hi image123, do you believe those thugs were killed?
Lol, i was simply amused at the behaviour of the unbelievers. They seemed quite confused and annoyed about everything from the number of bears, to who the bears killed.

2Ki 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tore forty and two children of them.

Surely, 42 of the thugs got torn. i believe they were killed. Maybe others were injured only, but these 42 were not that spared. They were cursed. Cars for instance and heavy vehicles run into people accidentally and kill many. i wonder why people do not ask silly questions like can't they run away. Apart from curse which itself pits one at a huge disadvantage and abnormality, sudden pandemonium and appearance of two ferocious bears can freeze hearts, make people stumble on one another etc. The bears simply need to trample on and disturb their flight, then come back to tear the wounded. It's good we don't walk in the midst of thugs so that we don't get unfortunate like these ones did.

Dan 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

No doubt, homosexuality is wrong and a sin, but the passage does not talk about the antichrist being homosexual or promoting such.
Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers,
Neither shall he regard the desire of women,
Neither shall he regard any god

These are the 3 phrases the verse passes across. Whatever the desire of women may be or mean, he will not regard it. This is different from saying that he will not have desire for women, or not desire women). Even not desiring women does not mean that he must be/desire men. He may desire nothing sexually or even worse. The Bible does not say, at least not in that verse. Let's not just assume things and tie scriptures to them, or force scriptures to say our opinions.

You do not have to be insulting to make a point. Obama, Goodluck Jonathan, Buhari, Okonjo-Iweala, Ezekwesili and many more informed and intelligent people believe the Chibok story. What is my own that i should doubt it? The past administration allegedly rescued hundreds of people from boko haram, so why can't boko haram kidnap 250 girls? How many miuntes does it take for 250 people to march from an assembly ground to their various classes? How many hours do you suppose it should take 250girls to march/walk/run/be dragged into vehicles at gunpoint? This is most believeable than burning 200houses in 2hours. It's not like they gathered them like sticks and burnt them. Why assume that any or all of the houses are made of rafia roofing? Even if they are all made of that, which is very unlikely, how do you burn 200 roofs/houses in 2hours?

Read full text of the statement of the APC spokesman below.
Pres. Buhari: Tackling insecurity, corruption and restoring Nigeria’s respect
Being the text of a media parley hosted by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Lagos on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015
Good afternoon gentlemen.
I have arranged this interaction to rub minds with you, as always, on the situation of things in our country, top of which are the efforts being made by President Muhammadu Buhari to chart a new path for our dear country, Nigeria.
It’s been about one month now since President Buhari assumed office, and I can tell you that there has been motion, and there has been movement, contrary to what is being peddled in some quarters.
Let me say straight away that my party, the APC, understands and appreciates the concerns of Nigerians as far as the perceived pace of the administration is concerned. We understand that they repose so much confidence in the party and the government to act quickly to stamp out insecurity, tackle corruption, revive the moribund economy, provide jobs and generally restore hope.
Justifiably, the expectations are high and urgent, and the Buhari administration has started addressing them, despite the enormous challenges that it faces, including an empty treasury and an economy that has virtually collapsed.
While Nigerians are right to demand quick and sustained action in addressing these challenges – and honestly we make no excuses – it is important for us to put things in perspective for a better understanding.
The Buhari administration got the handover notes from the former government just four days before the inauguration, hampering its efforts to have a clear understanding of the situation on the ground before taking the necessary measures to address it. If any disease is not appropriately diagnosed, it cannot be effectively treated. Any government that is truly desirous of bringing about real change will not act hastily and without the necessary understanding of what is on ground. Coupled with the delay in getting the much-needed information, that takes time.
Recall that when we raised the alarm over the delay in getting the handover notes, the former government even accused us of seeking to form a parallel government!
Secondly, Nigeria has never before witnessed this kind of transition. What the country has been accustomed to is transition from one government to another under the same ruling party, not from the ruling party to the opposition as we have now. The implication is that this is a new learning curve, with its attendant hiccups.
Thirdly, never before has the ship of Nigerian state been steered aground as we have it now. Never before have Nigerians been this expectant from any leader or any government. These are all the more reasons to get things right, once and for all, so we won’t need to continue with the vicious cycle of hopes raised and dashed!
Even with these challenges, gentlemen, the Buhari Administration has availed itself creditably within one month of assuming office.
Tackling insecurity and fight against terrorism
This is one area in which the Buhari Administration has hit the ground running. The President had hardly been sworn into office than he embarked on a shuttle diplomacy to rally Nigeria’s neighbours to act as a common front against the terror group Boko Haram. The President travelled to Chad and Niger, and then hosted a summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission that comprised Cameroon, Chad and Niger, with Benin also invited.
The result is the decision to deploy the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), with headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad, on July 30th to pep up the fight against Boko Haram! This is the same force that the past administration could not get off the ground in six years! That’s what we meant when we said what the Jonathan Administration could not do in six years, the Buhari Administration has done in three weeks, not minding that some mischievous elements decided to quote us out of context.
President Buhari has also rallied the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) to work with Nigeria in battling the Boko Haram insurgency. A joint summit of leaders of both economic blocs is to be held shortly to concretise these efforts that will complement the one by Nigeria and its neighbours.
Outside our sub-region, the President travelled to Germany to meet with G7 leaders to present to them a wish list that included getting their support for the battle against Boko Haram. The leaders of the countries affected by the Boko Haram insurgency have compiled their requirements which are being forwarded to the G7 for appropriate action.
While waiting for that, the US has announced a 5-million-dollar assistance for the fight against the terrorists who have been ravaging our country and our sub-region. Added to the relocation by the Nigerian military of the command centre to Maiduguri, these are no mean achievements.
Only a few weeks back, Nigeria could not enlist the support of any Western nation in the fight against Boko Haram, could not get the military hardware needed to pep up the fight and had to resort to using mercenaries to confront the bandits, even though the country boasts of a military that has been globally acknowledged for helping to restore peace to many countries around the world.
The fight against corruption
The fight against corruption ranks very high on the list of the Buhari Administration’s priorities, and justifiably so. The refrain, ‘If Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria,’ is now commonplace, and it is a truism. Nothing, not even the fight against terror, can succeed without putting an end to the kind of prodigious and sickening corruption being witnessed in these climes.
That is why the President also included it on the wish list he took to Germany during the last G7 summit. Thankfully, some Western nations have now assured the Buhari Administration of all possible assistance in its efforts to recover the billions of Naira that was spirited away from the public till by public officers who abused their office during the immediate past administration.
Only yesterday, it was revealed that the President has ordered revenue-generating agencies, including the NNPC, FIRS, Customs and NPA, to close all Illegal Revenue Accounts and to also remit all funds generated to the Federation Account. This is a momentous step considering that those illegal accounts are being used to siphon public funds.
Thanks to the painstaking efforts of President Buhari, Nigerians now know that out of 8.1 trillion Naira generated by the NNPC in three years, 3.8 trillion Naira was not remitted to the Federation Account. Nigerians now know that the cash in the Excess Crude Account has been depleted by 2 billion dollars without explanation. A panel of four governors has been set up to investigate what happened to the money that was not remitted to the Federation Account. The rot met by the Buhari Administration is sickening, and the President is working hard to plug all loopholes for siphoning public funds, in addition to recovering looted public funds.
This is just the beginning of the fight against corruption. Nigerians should grab a front row seat so they can watch clearly as events unfold in the ring of anti-corruption fight in the days ahead. It will no longer be business as usual as the Buhari Administration seeks to make sure that every kobo of national funds is spent for the benefit of Nigerians, not to fill the deep pockets of a few fat cats.
Bringing Nigeria back to the comity of respected nations
Since President Buhari’s election on March 28th, 2015, Nigeria has been moving fast to regain its deserved place in the comity of respected nations. Leaders who once shunned Nigeria have been inviting, in droves, President Buhari to visit their countries. The latest is US President Barack Obama, who will play host to our President at the White House onJuly 20th.
There is no better indication of how much Nigeria is regaining its lost glory than the recent election of former Agriculture Minister Akinwumi Adesina as the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB). Recall that Nigeria has never before led the continental bank, despite its front-line role there. In backing and campaigning for Dr. Adesina, President Buhari put his acclaimed sterling qualities to a global test, and he passed in flying colours. Adesina’s election is a testimony to the perception of Nigeria under President Buhari’s leadership.
The Buhari effect
Gentlemen, the mere fact that President Buhari, a man of impeccable pedigree, an incorruptible personality, has taken over the mantle of leadership has spurred Nigerians to dream again, put public servants on their toes, forced many looters to start disgorging some of their loots even without prompting, and fired the zeal of many public enterprises to deliver better services.
Conclusion
Despite the laudable achievements of the Buhari Administration within the past few weeks of its coming into being, Nigerians are right to demand even a faster pace. Nigerians are right to ask that a government be quickly put in place. Nigerians are right to demand that looters be exposed and brought to justice. Nigeria is long suffering, and our compatriots can’t wait for a paradigm shift in the way we do things.
Nigerians are right and justified in their expectations. All we ask for is a little more patience, a little more understanding and continuous support for the Buhari Administration.
We in the APC hereby assure our compatriots, who have expressed their concerns in recent times, that there is no cause for alarm. The Buhari Administration is willing, determined and able to effect the change that Nigerians voted for, despite the initial challenges. No one, not even the reactionary forces that are rampaging now, can sabotage our party’s change mantra. Welcome to a new Nigeria!

I left $4.1billion in my account last year November and now told that my balance is $2billion in June this year. Nothing wrong, political or tribal in asking who withdrew $2.1billion and why. This is the simple question the NEC is asking. What has happened between November 2014 to May/June2015? Instead, NOI is talking about sharing money from 2012 and holding monthly meetings. She should come straight to the point with facts and figures if she has them.

Obviously you lack proper home training, that's why you found it hard to pass across your point without resorting to insult. The matter is very clear. The Governors say NEC is the proper authorization for spending ECA, and that the last balance was $4.1billion, but that there is just $2billion in the balance. The logical thing for NOI to do is to simply explain what happened, why the discrepancy, or to SHOW that there is no discrepancy. Her saying there is no discrepancy doesn't hold water because it is her word against the word of 36 other people. It's not for her to come and tell the public that she meets with commissioners every month, that was never a debate. The issue was/is that NEC has the authorization for withdrawal of funds, so what or how did funds disappear. She might have a good/valid/concrete reason but she is yet to give that reason so far. FAAC does not authorize ECA funds.

It's more than just saying from her. She could easily explain what happened to the money. The 36governors claim they give authorization for withdrawal. And that NOI made withdrawal without the authorization. Her word alone is weightless against 36 in any court of settlement. Regardless of the contents of the original post which certainly went off tangent, the thread's heading or topic is not a lie

If according to scripture, it is Jesus who will be doing the judging,
then there is a good chance of likely surprises of non-"christians" saved and springing up in the Kingdom of Heaven
The God who knows all things has this to say,
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The not-wicked too, since the time of Adam, that have died, are not with God too.
The fact of the matter is, God wishes no soul perish, He wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
The key phrase in the last sentence above there is "...come to a knowledge of the truth" (i.e. it's very important to take note of it)
God has many wishes and wills that are not being fulfilled and that will not be fulfilled. God wishes that men pray everywhere, He wishes that we prosper and be in health, He wishes that we are all sanctified. These are not the case.

Are you sure it is hell satan is rendezvoused to spend eternity.
I'll leave the not correct "hell" satan's final destination for you to address or do the needful to.
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever

satan the devil was closer to God than many men, yet He will spend eternity in hell.

Psalm 115:16
The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.

Acts 7:49a
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool..."

What God REALLY wants is the RELATIONSHIP and/or fellowship
God can and/or will always visit as He usually did in the beginning with Adam, in Eden
Visiting, that's how God in the beginning spent time with man

In short, what God is REALLY after, like it was in the beginning, is that lost RELATIONSHIP and/or fellowship with man.
This restoration is good news, as the RELATIONSHIP is now stronger and deeper.
Stronger and deeper in the sense that, the Lord God not only is endearing but has become and is now, God the Father
Relationship is restored at redemption. Eden is not the ultimate, eternity with God is. God will dwell with His people forever.

With Romans 2:11-16 in mind, Jesus and frosbel in different perspectives, are both saying the truth
Jesus is the way through which to have salvation, however the exceptional circumstance cases who didn't know Jesus would be saved too
The latter is what frosbel tried with the heading to bring attention to
but he is getting judged on his past posts and the overzealous in the original post, therefore receiving all these very unpleasant earfuls over the topic
Rom 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
Rom 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one anotherwink
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Jesus and frosbel in different perspectives are in different perspectives, that's all. Frosb has no truth to say or offer. Frosb is very particular about the present, while you (at best) with that text, seem to be making a case for the past. That is, past humans B.C.
Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

God has reckoned/counted all men as having already received the grace that brings salvation. Like He saw all men in Adam, even thus, He has seen many unborn generations and born generations in their ascendants and progenitors. Sorry for you if your race or tribe or country's progenitor didn't make use of the grace. While others made use of time and education and civilization, some did not. Their descendants suffer today till tomorrow for these things. Much more so it will be with God's grace scorned by many. Their main hope remains the prayers and intensity of christians in reaching out and God's mercy. Judgement is coming and sinners and all unbelievers will have no place to hide, not even under the blood of Jesus.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Creation- How Compelling Is The Christian Narative? by Image123(m): 7:54pm On Jun 28, 2015
omenka:
Good morning.

I'm not a regular on this board- in fact this is my first time ever of visiting and I see you guys are doing quite a great job here. Kudos. smiley

For some of us not so ardent in the "ways of Christ", there are certain questions that have been tugging at our minds for years and I hope bringing it here, someone knowledgeable could help put things into clearer perspective.
Omenka!!!!!!!!!! Good to see you here cheesy cheesy Get ardent in the "ways of Christ" ASAP oh.

Now, I've been having some difficulty believing the Christian narative of how man came to being. I don't believe a hindered percent in the Big Bang or Darwinism as well, but if you ask me, so far, both seem to offer even better explanation as to the question of life and how it has come to evolve.
First and foremost, there is some difficulty believing EVERY of the narratives, not just the Christian narrative. i mean, who would not have a hard time believing that humans evolved from apes or fish and the evolving sorta stopped. Or that a couple of dust had a rough time and finally produced earth as we have it, the atmosphere, the rivers and fountains, oceans and continents, and all them living things starting life from some mistake protozoa. One has to be really wacko to believe that SCIENTIFICALLY.

According to our religion, the first men were Adam and Eve and every other man is a product of their procreation. My questions then are:

1. What race was Adam and Eve??
The were the human race. wink Really, creation is a MIRACLE. It's not something explained in the lab or in textbooks. Adam and Eve are miracles. They were formed from dust and never had to grow like us, through childhood, puberty and the likes. The Bible also shows us that they were some kind of superhumans. Ordinary people do not live for 900years. Ordinary people do not control and maintain the size of the garden of Eden. The strength, immunity, power, intelligence, fruitfulness and composition of the first humans is not ordinary. They were a better set of humans than the watered down version we have today. What we however have today is an increase in knowledge compared to the average human race. The first set were by no means average BTW.
Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

2. It is said that after Cain killed Abel, he saw banished from Eden and went to live in some distant place (make una no mind me, I no sabi bible well well..) where he married and bore lots of children- question is, where did those people come from? Were they his brothers and sisters??
They were his brothers and sisters. The first set of humans were very fruitful and productive people. They are what 'spiritual' people call BLESSED. They were blessed by God Himself for the purpose of MULTIPLYING and REPLENISHING the earth. That in itself is a miracle. It is a miracle that multiplies 5loaves to feed five thousand and have 12baskets of bread as remnant.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

This command and blessing is loaded and powerful. Noah also received a similar command and blessing after the flood. When God commands us, He gives all the resources to fulfill the command.
Gen 5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begot sons and daughters:

This passage for instance proves that Adam had other sons and daughters that we do not know much about. That nothing is recorded does not mean nothing happened, for instance, between the birth of Cain to the death of Abel. Do you know that Paul, Peter and co had brothers, fathers, and grandfathers? They were not recorded but they did have them.

3. How did we end up with the different races we have today- where did Whites, Blacks, Asians, indians, Arabs, Hispanics, and Persians with all their genotypical/physiological differences come from??
It's more of a miracle but we are of one blood and one race, that is most important.
Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
God divided us even further at the tower of Babel incidence. It is only God that does these things. You can imagine, there are many things that fellow humans do, achieve and construct/discover that awe us, how much more God.

4. If we were to accept the variations in "3" as products of genetic mutation, could we then extend to argument to explain the origin of man as a product of genetic mutation/evolution?? cheesy
Miracles of that nature do not happen everyday or forever. The manna has to stop someday as it were. God does not continue parting the Red Sea or raining manna. Just like our parents don't breastfeed or carry us on their backs forever. Growth and some form of independence happens. God made us and earth with that goal of some form of independence, but the miracles helped kickstart and sorta stabilize the process.

I completely agree with this, but will tweak it a bit by saying:
"I believe the Bible is a good guide in some ALL ways. I don't believe the ALL books in the Bible have been translated correctly,
or even if the men who chose the books were inspired to choose those particular books"

Are you kidding me with this?! Wow, I completely agree with this too.
In past submissions, I have posted about translators, the politics, their ulterior motives and hidden agenda behind individual bible translations

This almost became predictable, because if not for "Hell" I was nearly 100% agreeing with this.
Hell is a classic example of "Too many men have replaced words that there wasn't a word for in their language"
Jews have no idea of Hell, Jews dont have a Hell, what they have is Sheol
Hell is not Jewish or Aramaic in etymology but actually is an English word based on the Greek concept of a place populated with demons torturing and punishing the dead.
Hell originated from the word Hades, which incidentally is the name of the Greek god, Hades who is in charge of the Greek mythical place of the dead known as the underworld

I completely agree with all you wrote there except for the "hell" choice of word and "I have never believed in only Heaven or Hell" intro.
There is Heaven and there is Sheol, Hell is a Greek concept, never a Jewish one. We can thank the translator for adopting the word Hell/Hades instead of sticking to the original and authentic Sheol word

Surprises of seeing many, who didn't worship Christ,
being found in the Kingdom of God

Seems we are back on a roll here because I completely agree with all this, however if they will have a place in Gods kingdom, then in the presence of God there is fullness of joy settles "Where that will be I don't know" for me

Dont you just love translators, here we have translators again, at work, horrifically mistranslating and mistransliterating something that means permanent correction to eternal torment

Must admit, frosbel went a bit OTT, a bit off tangent but if frosbel is now tagged a "false Christian" I wonder what Martin Luther is.
Martin Luther did quite a lot of frosbel's and more, the Germans have Martin Luther to thank for having the Bible readily available in their German mother tongue and be aware of its contents
Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Gnoni. Many times, we humans overate ourselves. However, the fact remains that God was perfectly happy and satisfied before He created us, and He will be happy and satisfied without us.
Isa 40:17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
Isa 40:18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

Dan 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Psa 62:9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

The Bible clearly states that God is angry with the wicked every day. Since the time of Adam, the wicked that have died are not with God, i do not see why God will miss them that much in the future. satan the devil was closer to God than many men, yet He will spend eternity in hell. God wants us all to spend eternity with Him and many many will, but they will all be people who have the Christ.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

It's either Jesus is saying the truth or He is not.

No such perfect being exists, to my knowledge.
In other words, you do not have any idea.

This is a proactive executive, this is all we asked. The marketers threatened strike in three weeks, the vice president met them to most likely resolve issues. This same marketers threatened the previous administration but that administration was nonchalant and not proactive until the scarcity bit masses, then Okonjo started paying billions of money she could have paid earlier.

Exactly. God is willing to watch millions of people get murdered and he does absolutely nothing. But this perfect being gets angry about gay things. (How does a perfect being get angry by the way?)
Give us an example of a perfect being that doesn't get angry?
