I wonder what's meant by the term 'make it in life'. Having money is not exactly 'making it in life'. Anybody can have money. Nothing guarantees money, no, not religion, education, hardwork, genius, atheism etc. People love to measure success with money sha. Wealth can be independent of happiness, health, contention, sanity, morality, righteousness. So, making it in life is not just money. There's so much insecurity for everyone concerning these things. But there's a guarantee with God. If anyone serves God in truth and walks in the Spirit, he'll have no fear here on earth. And is afterlife, yes AFTERLIFE will be sweeeeet. And afterlife's bigger than life.

Some people mistake talking without thinking for Holy Ghost inspiration. Afterwards, they try to make sense out of what's been said, and feel happy with themselves.

Train up a child in the way he should go. Yes. A pikin should be trained up, guided and guarded in the right way. She should not just be left to herself, deciding to eat sand today, swallow cotton-wool tomorrow and inhale eraser next tomorrow. Eternal life is much more important, and a child should be shown the way, nay, led in the way.

@OP, simply ask God for guidance. It's also good to ask for counsel though. Go to your leaders in church and seek their counsel, they're the best ithink, not nL. BTW, studying law is not wrong.

It's unbelievers that would not believe that Jesus' sacrifice redeems us, but thinks he/she can redeem, or obtain God's mercy himself through suffering. God does not will ONLY love, joy and happiness. It could also be God's will that after you've suffered a while, He might make you perfect . All that live GODLY WILL SUFFER persecution. Christian and non-christians suffer but it's never a payment for salvation.
