I don't blame them. After working very hard to get to a certain level in life, stupid children like to always drag their parents back to the mud because of nonsense love. The moment my children begin loving certain people in life, I will downgrade their lives to meet that standards. You can't be driving Lexus to go and visit your boyfriend that rides okada. It's better you ride okada to his house instead. Some children are from hell. Some people are of the opinion that you leave the children to be who they want to be but I'm of the opinion that they can be who they want to be in their own domain, not under my roof and definitely not bearing my surname.

I quite understand your point and the burning desire to ensure economic safety & been protective of ones kids as a parents, especially with the economic reality experienced while trying to build them up. But we equally know that life itself is very unpredictable to the point that just one miscalculated risk and all could be gone & vis a vis. Nevertheless, it's better to equip them with the necessary information inline with how things work very early enough with close followup. Thus giving them the mental ability to make very informed choices in life, at least she wouldn't give herself so cheaply to be inserted and perhaps trying to be deduce into marrying the guy simply because a child is involved. Now given her current situation, the parent should just question her to be sure her choice isn't solely base on the child or that the man isn't trying to use her. Also stating to her that you wouldn't be a financial backup plan in case she doesn't any valid point.

No one deceived us into our choice of voting. What we hate passionately is for one individual to try to make himself a political deity. If we were to allow that, at least the priviledge would have been given to Ogbemudia and not this current crop of undeserving politicians. There is a reason the Benis resisted the white folks despite the obvious consequences. Oshiomhole was massively supported against the likes of Igbins, Annenih, etc. His choice of successor was equally supported despite doing nothing in his second tenure. He enjoyed a free hand during his government. He can't be a godfather to Obaseki just because he helped him into power. That was the singular act that influenced our voting, else he would be tempted to continue to decide who gets what in Edo political space even as a none majority in the state. Secondly, he made several remarks against Ize-iyamu only for him to think we should throw that all out because of his interest, he would have picked another candidate instead. Even the Ize-iyamu would have had a better chance of winning if he had remained in PDP because we vote individuals over parties. The same measure will be used against Obaseki when he is done. So your Lagos can be whatever, after all there are several federal institutions, yet the income generated is still far from the developmental reality on ground. So leave our Edo for us.

Well, Buhari had similar experience until Tinubu rebranded the process for him. And now, it is clear that he only wanted that title and the enjoyment that comes with it and never had governance in mind. So people shouldn't be moved by the same empathy. Tinubu on the other hand isn't his main challenge as you quoted but Peter Obi. If Peter Obi had remained with him, Tinubu won't stand a chance. Nevertheless, not until after election, no one can be certain of victory as this current election is keenly contested. And the most fascinating thing is that it won't be an easy win for any of them. And the governance itself won't be an easy task for the winner as bubu has destroyed everything & returned the country back to 600 years.

I align my thought with yours on this. Kids are naturally inquisitive hence want to dare. I remember a family outing to a swimming park. My boy after playing enough in the children's section, picked interest in the adult section. I drove him back several times yet keep returning. So I insisted he must be on safety jacket before entering. I deliberately wanted him to learn by example. So I put him in, quickly he realized that the school swimming skill he taught he had that was giving him confidence was not enough for depth. He had to plead that he wants to get out. Trust me, that was the last time he ever came close till we left. Only God protects yet some human measures are highly recommended too as you rightly stated.

If you have a swimming pool and kids in your house, you have to be very very careful and very observant.

If there is no measure of restricting the access to a pool, I don't think it should be sited in a house where kids are because of their inquisitiveness. Second thing I will equally discourage will be allowing kids close to guard dogs or any other wild animals by default which was however domesticated. God protects yet wisdom is profitable.

Certainly a good idea as it should be. Civil defense & other private security outfits should engage in body protection service to the politicians & VIP's.
