PoliticsNigeria Disintegrating Under Buhari – Udenwa, Former Imo Governor by Imo1stson(op): 8:41am On Apr 21, 2019
Former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, is highly disturbed. His worries stemmed from the turn of events in the country. He, therefore, hopes that the Sudan uprising does not happen in Nigeria.

The former Minister of Commerce and Industry lamented the economic situation in the country since the advent of the Buhari administration, saying that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who would have taken Nigeria out of the woods, got his mandate trapped.

Udenwa said: “We’ve seen what has happened in the past four years and if we can project from what has happened, you will see that we have no chances, we have no hope. The economy is down. It continues to be down. Nothing is moving. The country is even disintegrating on a daily basis. Udenwa, however, said that the only solution towards resolving the myriads of problems plaguing the country is through the restructuring of the country. Excerpts:

You were governor of Imo State and later became the Minister of Commerce and Industry. What have you been doing since you left office as minister?

Since I left office as a minister, I have been running a small outfit. We deal with property and investments. That is what I have been doing since then, though things have been very rough.

In terms of what?

In terms of the economic situation in the country. It has affected every sector of the economy.

Is it since the beginning of the current administration or prior to the administration?

The present administration, the APC government, has put us in the mess we are in now. The whole economy is almost grounded and nothing seems to be happening. Business has been tough.

In that wise, people expected notable politicians like you to have sent this government packing. But you were not able to do that. What happened?

I am sure we sent the government packing. We really did across the country. If you look at the results across the country, you will agree with me that this government should not have been there at all. We are still at the tribunal; we are hoping to have the best out of it.

So how will a state struggling to pay salary pay new workers of these proposed institutions?
Our governors act as if oil prices, our main source of income, are even guaranteed to be stable or steady. he did next to nothing about IGR for eight solid years but is opening more schools only after his candidate didn't scale through to months to the end of his party's tenure.
That shows he is doing it in order to drain the incoming govt of funds and turn them against the people. Sad!
Leave politics and face reality. Imo isn't struggling to pay salaries and in reality has the most improved and highest IGR in the Southeast presently. Make enquiries and don't be misled by a sponsored political group whose reason is to blame Okorocha for Ihedioha's impending failure as Governor because of Okorocha's high standards. On the 70% salary which was later reviewed to 80%, it was an agreement with State Labour so that 20% can be used for infrastructure.

Black man's poor mindset.

We see little collaboration with the whites as a feat. It is so appalling that we've been beaten into this psychological submission that the whites are superior.

They had us in chains years back, they've still got some of us psychologically in chain today.

It seems in Igboland. Anambrans and IMOlites are the richest. Abians pursued Education. Enugu just has the privilege of being Eastern capital. Ebonyi.. well baby of the house wink
You got it wrong. Parts of every Southeast State has concentration of wealthy businessmen. In Imo it's Northern area comprising Orlu zone, Mbano and Onuimo while in Anambra it's Southern and central area comprising areas like Ihiala, Idemili, Nnewi, Aguata, Orumba, Anaocha etc. It's same in Ebonyi, Abia and Enugu where Abiriba, Nkanu, Uburu etc exist.

Imolites should mobilize and stop Rochas from looting the state as he is doing. This is not the time for "I don't care" attitude.

Also, the new Governor must probe the current criminal regime and impound all the illegal assets acquired through looting of state funds.

Not to mention that SOME not ALL of those useless statues erected for political reason must go down.
This blackmail is not only stale but stupid to say the least. Government works till the last day and no law stops contractor from working or even carrying left over of his materials but then that place is the fabrication site for those fancy streetlights and they are being installed at Ogboko presently not Owerri.

Stop writing lies upon lies. The Imo industrial park, Cargo Airport and Egbema power plant are clear road maps which Okorocha has been working on to achieve. Such large projects are not usually easy to achieve but could be gradually attained with continuity.
