It’s supposed to be 2014-03 to 2014-04 and 2013-02 to 2013-03
Do you understand? Try it and see if it changes. This is not true.. almost all my dates overlapped and It was fine. |

Bubblefairy: I am in the same position, all I have been hearing is no passport materials. Wow! I pray your children's passports are sorted soon.. Any family intending to apply should start passport processing for their kids as soon as possible. The only passport that should wait till close to ITA or after ITA should be that of an unborn child... as you're preparing for ielts and processing ECA, passports should be included as part of the preparation too because this Nigeria is unpredictable.. I wish you guys the best. |

Porschefarmer: Good afternoon everyone.
I and wify was just playing around CRS score.
We decided she should apply alone and her CRS was amazingly 468. With me, it's around 458 and I'd have to take IELTS with atleast 6666.
1. Can she apply as a single applicant and add me later? Of course my excuse will be that I was not interested in leaving Nigeria when she was applying but I have decided to now.
2. Will her point drop if she adds me? I really don't want to take the English test. Will it affect our chances?
PLEASE I WILL APPRECIATE OUR IMMEDIATE RESPONSE. Yes, her score will drop... Take your IELTS |

Amylew: Thanks Ifeoma. Rest assured everything is being considered carefuly. Crs pre ita and now is same since eca and ielts have been done by her hubby. Kindly note that her CRS will be recalculated based on her information pre-ITA hence spouse's ECA and IELTS wouldn't be taken into consideration.. the details that got her the ITA are what matter... I can imagine that the spouse's ECA and IELTS will be dated after the ITA.. Anyway, I await the clarification from CIC.. maybe we'll learn a new thing. |

rosepetraa: Is she Post ITA or Post AOR?
Since it doesn't change her scores, i think she can give it a try. However, she should read up on her own. Download the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations and digest every line in it. If she decides to add him now, she will need a letter of explanation that is supported by the law and not anyone's opinion. She should assumé she is defending her position in court and présent her position as such.
If it were me, i will research and research and research again before i decline this invitation. I will look for any loophole to explore to add my Hubby.
What i do know is that it will be more difficult to add him after AOR, but since she has not submitted her application...
IMO.. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/assessing-electronic-application-on-section-a11-2.html
Let your sister weigh her options Well. IRCC gives opportunity for "change in circumstances" The most important thing is that thé change in her circumstance did not reduce her CRS.
This is my opinion...
The décision is hers alone How is her case a change in circumstance? Wasn't her husband there pre-ITA? Adding her spouse will definitely drop her CRS and she can't just add her spouse's ECA and IELTS now to influence her scores and make her eligible.. You can't add anything that contributes to your eligibility after ITA, that's like cheating the system and her application will definitely be rejected. .there are people waiting for their spouse's ECA and IELTS inorder to be eligible and improve their CRS, you think they don't know what they're doing??. She either goes ahead as unaccompanied or declines the ITA as including her husband reduces her CRS below the cutoff for her round... This is just my opinion based on experience gained in this journey, as you rightly said, the decision is hers alone.. Cc: Amylew |

Mponwa21: Good evening Nairalanders, hope all is going well... Please I will like to know your thoughts in a situation like this... I entered the pool With spouse unaccompanied ,just I and the kids ,because hubby said he is busy at the moment, but after ItA he said I can now add him in the application, Please since I have gotten ITA do he still need to do evaluation ECA and take IELTS? My crs score is 462 if your score drops below the cutoff for your round (putting tie-breaker into consideration too), your application will be rejected... If your score is going to drop below the cutoff after adding him, then you may have to decline the ITA and sort his ECA and IELTS first. |

Even it you don't have access, you should be able to get your bank statements during that period. .or you were paid in cash?Atleast, If you're able to provide bank statements that show inflows of salary, you may be able to explain the pay slip issue. Ifeoma77: It's up to her laslas, but with 442, ITA is assured. Even if the cutoff is high the first time, all you have to do is wait for the next one and it will definitely drop. That 75k can solve a lot of other needs. hmmmm, ok.. how do you know 442 will be a good score in the coming months? Had it been she's ready to enter the pool now, my advice would have been different... If I were in her shoes my hubby will definitely do either IELTS or evaluation... the pain of waiting and hoping for scores to drop outweighs the 75k.... Anyway let me key into your hope and as you said, it's her decision las las |

Ifeoma77: With your Masters, age and work experience, you don't even need to stress your spouse. Without his ECA and without him writing IELTS, your CRS is at 442 - more than sufficient to get you an ITA.
You can only use 25% of your pension as POF.
Having POF from different sources is not a problem. Just started get gift deeds from all of them.
If your university is not proactive in getting WES verifications done, and you're not sure of getting a contact to help with verification, you might want to consider using other ECA bodies. Neither ICES nor CES require verifications and members of this thread have successfully used them to get their ECAs done within 3 months.
Godspeed I will suggest her spouse writes ielts or evaluates his degree to increase their score and be on a safe side.... By the time she's ready to enter the pool, nobody knows whether 442 will still be a good score.. Last draw was able to get to 438 because it was back to back. ... Cc: galibat |

akereconfi: But I read here that you can go through with 6:6:6:6
Is there something I'm missing? Yeah, 6666 is the minimum ielts score required but do you think it can get you ITA? You just calculated 366, is it enough for ITA? Having an ielts score of L.8.5, R8, W7.5 S7.5 will bring your score to 441 with 3yrs experience.. Kindly use the CRS tool provided by someone above to see how your score is impacted by each criterion.. |

czaratwork: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartered_Professional_Accountant
The above link will answer the question on difference. I know if you are converting from ACCA to CPA, your added designation to CPA is CGA (General Accounting)while if you are converting from CIMA your added designation to CPA is CMA (Management Accounting) For CA, i think it is for those that are in public accounting.
Then for changing path, it is difficult unless with internal reference. The best is to get in with the skills you have (foot in the door) and then change within the company. They normally recruit based on experience and not what you want unfortunately. But you can give it a try. If you can defend the finance skills in your resume then good. Meanwhile Tax is also a good one over here.
The career path for finance analyst is attractive. From finance analyst to senior finance analyst to finance manager to controller/chief financial officer to CEO.. Most CFOs end up being CEOs because they work closely with CEOs and have understood the challenges of the role. So it really makes sense changing your path. And while at this you try and get a Canadian based masters degree.
My posting is not cordinated because i am multitasking presently. Thank you Salford for your response.. I appreciate. |

czaratwork: Accountants and finance professionals, please ensure you learn advanced excel before coming in. I mean pivot tables, recording macros, VBA, vlookup, sumifs etc. It will help you in your job hunt. You can spice it up by learning powerpoint too as you can be called to do presentations at short notice. You can also visit indeed.ca to have an idea of the requirements for the career you want to pursue.
Also consider financial analyst role as you can never get it wrong with this role. If you type in financial analyst role in GTA in indeed, you will see that job berekete here. The question is Do you have the skills? All you need is experience in advanced excel where you use the tools to perform variance analysis (actual vs budgeted) with pivot charts, budgeting, monthend activities and presentation skills. You may also need experience in an ERP like SAP, ORACLE, JEDWARDS and co. I tell you they are ready to waive that Canadian experience if you have the skills. I have seen it happen for people.
There are so many free tutorials on excel and powerpoint on youtube and these videos come with materials you can practice with. udemy.com also has very cheap training on financial analysis. Some banks in Naija call this role performance management. We have performed most of these roles but with different titles/names.
Some keywords you can add to your resume are balanced scorecards, flash reports (just before month end variance analysis) and dashboard (after month end variance analysis) Monthly business review (MBR) etc.
Prepare very well before coming here and you will not waste time in the labour market.
Ok bye. Thanks for this, very invaluable How easy will it for someone who has been working as a tax accountant to migrate to a finance role? I have been working in tax but I will like to go into core accounting/finance.. I'm aware of the need for a CPA designation. Then, I want to know if there's a difference between CPA.CA, CPA.CMA and CPA.CGA..Is any of them preferred by employers? Thanks |

Debsify: I think the expenses you'll run with minimum wage like rent, food, transport etc will finish up $15/hr salary in Canada, whereas with 320k in 9ja you can comfortably run all these expenses and still save more. But to me it's not about the money, but his wellbeing and the future of his family. He has to be willing to sacrifice that for a better future You can comfortably run the above expenses in Naija including school fees and still save a lot? ?? Maybe outside Lagos shaa. |

Please I have a question.
We are Post AOR
I have my half sister living with me and wish to relocate with her.
Her mother is late, so also our father .
Please how do I go about it and at what stage in the application process can I add her You should have done the adoption procedure and added her during your application.. You have a good chance of adding her since her parents are late... I don't know about adding her post AOR. Go to page one and read the experiences of people that have successfully added dependents outside their kids... Btw, hope she isn't above 21? |
