My CRS is currently 431. Can I evaluate my CIPM with WES to increase my scores? Do I need to re-evaluate my BSc as I used ICES for that?
So you've been sitting on 2 or more cert? Please hurry and evaluate it, you don't need your Bsc to evaluate it..best wishes

Meanwhile, hope the CIPM you have is that of personnel management?

Good morning house. Thanks for all you do. Please this is very urgent.

We recently got ITA and our medicals is soon (3weeks time). Yesterday we found out wifey is pregnant. Please will this affect our medical result? Will they still do the medicals for us? Will this delay our application in any way? Please I need advice please. Especially about people that have gone through the same process or been in the same situation. Thanks.
Congrats on your baby.. Qlife will not complete her medicals until she's in her 2nd trimester... for the good of the baby..

I don't know about IOM....you can call to confirm.. all the best

Hi Guys.

Congratulations to the recent PPR clinchers and all the best to everyone expecting ITA’s tomorrow. I’ve got a quick question I’ll like some opinions and advice on.

I got my PPR in April and would be leaving for Canada first week of next month. I plan on returning back and getting married in December and it has been a tough thought on how to go about getting my spouse to join me since I heard spousal sponsorship could be tedious.

I eventually agreed she should begin her own EE process but to get her CRS points up enough, she’ll need at least an additional certificate to add to her Bsc.

Now to my questions.
1. Apart from spousal sponsorship and EE, are there any other means one could employ to bring over their spouse?
Well, you can marry her before you step foot into Canada and your application will be reopened. You won't be able to travel until it's concluded again.. However, before you take this path make sure you have enough evidence of courtship as you'll be needing those..

All the best.

Indeed. Faith without work is dead. I have exhausted every means of improving my score. I have a masters degree, my wife also, I missed clb 10 in ielts just by a whisker. My last hope therefore is God.
It's well.. It will end in praise for you smiley

Following previous trend, there is no permutation whatsoever that can accurately determine how impending CRS turn out. In fact, when it fell drastically and unprecedentedly to 413, no one predicted it. I am sure God needed to favour someone then.

Your best approach is to have faith and not to trust people's judgement. I'm on 447 and I have no doubt that I'm having ITA before my next birthday. All things are possible to he who believes.
Hi, I like your faith but if you've a way of improving your scores, please do...

The cold is very terrible. In fact, the population is less than 100k in Canada now because of the cold. All those who migrated to Canada have relocated to Danaca because of the cold. It is -50°C all year round and it is hard to survive there, no sun at all throughout the year.

I will advise you to stay back in Nigeria and enjoy your 40°C weather

This is really the most confusing part of this process. Why would single applicants be having higher CRS points than a couple+children?

Maybe chikdren should start contributing points too.
How does a single person have more CRS than marriedhuh

The system for the married is only designed to accommodate spouse's IELTS score and spouse's education.. if your spouse does IELTS and evaluates his educational credentials, then your score will be equivalent to that of single..

Not necessarily. When you transfer your membership, what you do with the previous province’s membership is up to you. If you want to maintain both, you choose the province where you’ll pay membership fees and then for the other province, you get to pay a minimal amount to keep being a member.... can’t remember the name they call it. But you won’t pay 2 membership fees. For Alberta it’s about 230$. If you don’t want to maintain both, you’ll pay to one and tell the other to remove you from their membership (you’ll have to return everything the old province sent to you)
Okay, thanks

I have a couple of question for seniors in the house. I got an update, and in my application status, Background Check changed from ‘We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information’, which it has always been from AOR, to ‘Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check’. This looks like my application process is going backward instead of progressing.

1. Should I be worried? AOR was in March; I passed medical exam on 3rd March and completed biometrics on 6th March 2019.

2. What stage of application am I—Ip1 or Ip2?

Current application status is as seen below.
Lucky you.. most people that saw this in their application got PPR not long after..seems your visa office is Accra..

Your application is moving..

Hi Prof, thanks for this detailed explanation, it came in handy as i am about to start mine also. I want to confirm, it seems British columbia is the only province that allows conversion from outside Canada right?
If this is right... so one will be paying ACCA, CPABC and CPA Ontario subscription fees??

I will wait till I enter Canada to convert (if need be) to avoid unnecessary subscription fees.

Good day to you all, I applied for the normal Canada visa, I got a mail the next day that my profile was review and impress by my work experience as Tax officer and my college degree, that am qualified for Federal skilled workers class, And I should commence other process.
But my fear is I have HND in computer science but I have worked with State internal revenue as a Tax officer.
Please do you think i can fit in with such competitive pool? Also the payments in both first and second stage of (995 USD) is also worrisome. Just need your kind advice thanks...
You're about to be scammed. .there's nothing like first and second stage, and the payment mentioned too..

An agent is about to scam you, go to page one of this thread and read the step by step guide on how to process Canadian PR.. all the best..

Not a lot of provinces will let you convert without showing that you have landed in Canada. It’s only BC and Ontario that I know can let you convert from home.
For Alberta, you must have landed cuz you need to send them either your pr card or signed copr before they send you membership form. Doesn’t matter if you are ACCA or CIMA or any other MRA
Thanks a lot. This makes sense.. smiley

A while back I asked a question about converting from CIMA to CPA, I said my school has an MoU with CIMA and because of this I will only be writing the SCS exam. I wanted to know if I will be eligible for conversion, I mailed CPA Alberta which is the Province I am hoping to land and this is the response I got:

Hi Peju,

Thank you for the clarification. Based on the information that you have provided in your email, you may not qualify for the current agreement with CIMA because of the MOU that your university has with them . The MRA states that you must have complete the entire CIMA program to be eligible to proceed. We will have to wait until you have become a member of CIMA to see how they classify the way you received your designation. CIMA applicants must also be employed and reside in Canada at the time of application for membership, which you have indicated you are not in Alberta yet.

It is important to note that the current MRA agreement is a legacy agreement and will be renegotiated by CPA Canada and CIMA, so there may be some changes by the time you have immigrated to Canada. At this time we are unsure of when this agreement will be renegotiated.

Thank you, Peju. Please contact us again once you have completed the program and have arrived in Alberta.

Hope someone finds this useful.
Thanks for the feedback to the house.. @bolded, does it mean CIMA students who completed all exams in Nigeria can't apply for CPA membership from Nigeria? Unlike ACCA?

You asked a similar question in 2017, this is 2019 and you've not taken any steps to leaving Nigeria..

Check out the travel section, you qualify very well for Canada PR and Australia too.. having a Canadian or Australian passport is not a bad idea at all.. You can always return to Nigeria if you wish to..make hay while the sun shines..

People are telling you that you can always travel out, as if they're ignorant of the high rate of visa denial for Nigerians, it gets worse by the day... getting a passport outside that of Nigeria is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

I wish you the best..

What are the pros and cons of each route?
Whatever route is decided, when I want to write my work reference letter, who will write it? Considering that I am the owner of the business?

Pls dont ignore this message biko sad
This is a destiny decision for me o.
I am ready to register for IELTS, so you guys are gonna be seeing me here often. I will not let you guys go until I get PPR o.

Can he sign for me and give me a refrence letter?
I will be very greatful if you can enlighten me and put me through.
Thanks so much
You can claim work experience since it was paid and you even have evidence for that....and you are being paid through the bank right?

However, I will suggest another member of the Company writes the reference for you..may be another manager or director..

All the best.

Why do you think I shouldn't convert from CIMA? There's a provision for that on their website and already sent an email, still waiting for a response though.
You can't use CIMA gotten through MRA or RMA to convert to CPA.. it's stated there on the website that you must have sat and passed the whole CIMA papers.

Anyway, since you've mailed them, they'll give you the response...cheers

FOR COUPLES.

I believe everyone in this pursuit, is aspiring to be a Canadian. My point is,even if your spouse's score is high enough to get you an invitation, you should ensure you both write ielts, because its one of the requirements to apply for citizenship. Though the result would be expired by then, IRCC would waive it, since it has been used previously, and it's in their database.
In order words, both spouses should write, not just for permanent residency application alone, but also for citizenship.
Goodluck
Please is there a minimum IELTS score for citizenship? Want to know if a spouse that didn't really do well in ielts even though it was enough for ITA needs to rewrite??

Americans are top 10 for express entry

But they are moving there for different reasons tho.

Not like those of us from third world failed $hithole countries that are escaping the pervasive foolishness dominant in our countries
A very huge percentage of those Americans counted in the express entry are children born in America whose parents are applying for PR in Canada.
