You guys and fake news.

INEC only declare a constituency vacant in Rivers and from the publication, it was due to the death of the rep.

Dinebari Loolo died last year so that was why his seat was vacant.

Tristical:
What is wrong with us in this country do we have brains at all
No wonder politicians take us for a ride and feel we can't do anything
Imagining the youths supporting the govt for their show of shame
I'm just speechless
Let's really analyze the naira issue:
First, no country in the world freely floats it's national currency without regulation except Nigeria

Most countries adopt what is called a managed float process which means the currency is floating but defended by the government.

But our case is different we floated without defence.
Now we are blaming everyone under the sun for the naira collapse.

Where is the fuel & electricity subsidy money that is supposed to be used for naira defence
Where is the $3.3 billion NNPC oil for cash deal money?

All of our naira crisis could have been solved if the banks enabled their cards but they can't because majority of the FX has been stolen or is being used to pay debts.

I hope you guys heard they've secured another $500 million loan to meter Nigerians
If you still think crypto traders are the one undermining the economy you have a mental problem.
you even forgot to add "when Dangote refinery starts production" to the list.....yet no result

Everyone wants Nigeria to work but there seems tl be a sort of insincerity about how it is being done and it is not yoelding the expected result.

Curious345:
We don't care if it's safe on safe.
Nigerian politicians use big big English to corner resources.

Why can't the government be directly involved in agriculture on the massive scale.

Instead of divising ways to steal that money or try to use the money to settle political allies by giving them overbloated contracts for road construction,

The government can humble itself and cultivate thousands of hectares of land, arable land across Nigeria ;plant crops for local consumption and for massive agricultural export.

There are countries on Earth, that are richer than Nigeria, not because they export crude oil but because they export cash crops cultivated on their lands..

Like I always say, Nigeria is a hopeless case
the bold is quite surprising especially for governors in all the Southern states

Govt claim to own almost all the lands, why can't they go into agriculture massively and directly, employ trained farmers......not giving out money that may be diverted to 'farmers' or to those that will later sell so costly as if they were not given incentives.
This will make food available and cheap, reduce unemployment, and generate revenue from sale of cash crops.

I was surprised seeing that figure of 10k too...
FG should force those Discos to provide metres for their customers, some people claimed they have paid or ready to pay but no metre, its just somehow,, and they keep bringing estimated bills

Crypto should be banned in Nigeria... We take advantage of loopholes alot... we are not mentally ready and capable of handling the don'ts of crypto... alot are so foolish not to know that pressure on crypto also affects our currency... crypto is not traded in Naira , its traded in dollars , and worse of all , it can be untraceable, its a hub for criminal activities because u don't need the conventional banks to run it
you can ban Naira too, or don't they use Naira to do whatever you claim crypto is used for

correkguy:
Okay so, Kidnappers are collecting cash using naira.. so lets us also ban the naira…

I disagree with you. Op is not making fun of her. Op is trying to pass a message. People doing this kind of legit hustle here in Nigeria are looked down on but they go abroad to do worse job especially in the UK where most of them go to wipe old people's bumbum and change pampers for them. People abroad keep praying for our Naira to go bad so when they changed the little dollar they have, it will look big. I'm sure even the op self is doing Ogwaja work in her place of work.

When you are so bitter with bad bele, you are incapable of constructive criticism.

If they know how naira can appreciate from a sorry state, they know why naira is losing value. Until they mop up excess unproductive naira buried in their backyards, bullion vans, volts and those crumbling in their warehouses, naira will never appreciate.

Fooling around the edges curbing the average man transformation in dollars is good as a message about your seriousness.

But the main crooks are the ones that can flush Bureau du Change with buried naira at will.

Get serious!

Nairaland is full of illiterates and half baked graduates, the fact that most of these ministers are not in the media making noise does not mean they are not working.
So what work are they doing that's not felt nor known to Nigerians.

You are free to name one Minister (and his 'works') whose number of 'likes' seems not fair except for Wike.
