COMPAQ:

Lol. I saw that line in the report and its actually wrong. There is no way 700MW meets 10% of our NEED. The issue is the use of the word NEED. Cos estimates put our national need at 25000MW. Maybe he meant to say 10% of available capcity, cos if we had enough gas, as at today we could generate 7000MW
okayyyy, thanks for the insight
Politics / Re: Testing Begins On 700MW Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant – FG by Inspirer1: 1:27pm On Apr 09
May it be a success

Mathematically,

$1.3 billion project meets approximately 10% of our need
Therefore, 10 X $1.3 billion = $13 billion should be able to meet almost all our electricity need in terms of generation.

I wish they had judiciously used the "$16 billion dollars" back then to fix this our power problem

it is good to know you have A1 in maths, however

Profit is not define by economic value or purchasing power, instead of going Further its just a simple maths

Cost price - selling price = Profit.

Besides No one stores or has Bags of cement produce in 2004 to sell in 2024 undecided

10yrs ago land in my area is sold for 3m/4m which is enough to JAPA but today same land are sold around 12m and its not enough to JAPA .... so for these simple reason do we say Land is not an asset or discard ROI
There's also the fact that one must have derived more than enough utility from using the car over 10 solid years which he didnt put into consideration, he needs to quantify that too and add it to the amount being sold now.

9jatriot:
CBN has done a lot of things right in recent times that even when we do not understand their actions, we somehow know that they are trying to achieve an aim.

Who else has noticed that Lamba king is now careful not to criticize the CBN in particular. When USD was increasing arbitrarily, he was always quick to release trader-level economic advice to make his followers think he knew what he is doing.

He was hoping that USD goes north of 2500 naira. I hope he learns that there is more to life than just saving cost.

Thank God most of his suggestions were at variance with those of the CBN otherwise his mob would have claimed that CBN took his advice to make the little progress they have been making.
May God continue to direct the CBN Chief.

Really happy for the progress thus far.

May Nigeria be better!

No Israel on the list, the so-called christian country.

According to a report At the end of 2022, Christians made up 1.9% of the Israeli population, numbering approximately 185,000. 75.8% of the Christians in Israel are Arab Christians.
Imagine, in a country of 9.5 million people, only 185,000 are christians.

The worst thing that can happen to any man is to ignorantly support the wrong cause.

I don't think it would matter whether the current situation persists.

The Igbo perpetual block votes might influence the Yorubas to embark on block votes too. By 2027, the South would have 4 more years. The North might simply give APC block votes too.

Don't be surprised if Obi performs woefully in 2027. He is beginning to do a lot to win the trust of the North, but his Igbo brothers will undo everything again when campaign starts fully. In their usual nzogbu nzogbu, they will betray their tribalism in their blind love for Peter Obi.

Yes, my 'if the situation persist' is in reference to the people in power now, they have the chance, 3 years, to turn things around positively so people will see them as the best. Anytime, any day, Obi will get block votes from the East, no doubts!

Well, I strongly feel the tribal sentiments from the Yoruba have been strongly tested with the current hardship, hunger aint child's play, when i say hunger i meant general hardship, sentiments are based on trust and believe which many have lost trust me.
I don't know what will be used to campaign to gather that much sentiment and votes from the Yoruba again if the situation persists, remember too that aside the Obi movement, PDP has been well on ground in the Southwest. Any serious party can easily leverage on the situation of things to turn the tide.

People were tired with the last administration, but felt let's try 'our own' probably why they voted more for the same party, remember when they were 'tired' with the Jonathan administration too, no one would have seen a sitting President loosing.
Basically, it's for any body in power not make people get to the point of being 'tired', once that point is reached, tribal sentiments will be weakend such that they may vote otherwise.
Just my thoughts anyways.

Height of delusion.

The North will NOT block vote for a party that has the
"yes daddy"
"religious war bigot"
"church wake up take back your country"
man as the president.

You Obidient keep proving everyone that called you headless mob right. Your understanding of Nigerian politics is next to zero.
If the current situation of things in the country persists, I think it is only Obi who can still get block votes from his region, other regions will be shared by all other candidates, furthermore, unlike before, the VP candidates of each party will play a crucial role by then also. So each major candidate has to choose wisely when considering a VP candidate.

What next is Tinubu going to remove its subsidy?
Sure, they'll be thinking of the next thing they'll use to create burden for the masses. Its as if they hold meetings to consider what the masses are "enjoying " that they can touch and cause hardship

That’s the question.

All this plenty talk is not necessary, just answer the question.

And just a reminder in case your memory is failing you, Wike is no longer in power and won’t be able to write result for Tinubu in Rivers again nor does he have a single goodwill to attract any vote for Tinubu in Southsouth.
In all honesty and being real, I doubt the Southwest is still a support base.

People are fed up honestly, leave all those who come here to shout his mandate they stand, they are hungry, frail, sick and gangling like tired Vietnam soldiers.

True, the north central are not in support of him and this has proven to be true in the last elections and not even Wike the FCT minister can salvage them.
Absolute truth.

If we dont want to deceive ourselves, majority of people who voted for are highly disappointed, I doubt if they will go same path again UNLESS something MIRACULOUSLY positive comes from the people in power.

Anyone who claims otherwise should on their own go out there to independently take a live survey.

So much hunger, anger and disappointment out there.

Hope they increase minimum wage as they have increase the tariff of power cause in the abroad he is saying the minimum wage is not 30k naira... Confused people
God bless u my brother, that's exactly where my mind went to since he is comparing Nigeria with those developed countries, then our minimum wage should not be less than #3,234,000 per month (£10.50 X 8 hours X 22 days X #1,750). Let them pay #3 million as minimum wage and check whether we will complain about the new tariff

What an irony...

These are people who while at functions, the official vehicle is kept running for hours so it would be cool when they are entering it.

People who don't obey traffic lights because they are in official vehicles.

People who use official vehicles for private errands.

People who post government security agents 24/7 at remote homes they visit just once or twice a year.

These are the people talking about waste and excesses...

It is very unfortunate that a party like APC exists...
So unfortunate,,,, he is even saying power is cheaper here, that's why they increased it i guess, so Mr Minister should tell us what the minimum wage is in UK or Canada and what is it in Nigeria, perhaps we can start from there

100% in support of FG. FG has been paying subsidy for darkness for decades. This is one of the many evils of PDP whereby incompetent cronies of government were sold NEPA while government keeps paying billions in subsidy to private owners to cover for their operating loss. Which sensible country does that?
So it's good for FG to transfer the burden of paying subsidies now to Nigerians to start paying, cos that's what it is now.

As Muslims, we are required to belief the five pillars of Islam, and one of these is giving zakat (zakat on wealth). It's important to note that zakat al-fitr (also known as Sadaqatul-fitr), which must be paid at the end of Ramadan, is different from the regular zakat on wealth.

Brothers and sisters, let us not forget that the time for giving zakat al-fitr is fast approaching. Remember that this must be paid before Eid al-Fitr, so make sure you fulfill this obligation in a timely manner.

May Allah accept our good deeds and make it easy for us to fulfill our duties towards Him. Ameen.
May Allaah accept our 'ibadaat. Ameen.

Do you mind sharing the appropriate detailed measurement, especially for those that won't have access to the normal mudu measuring tin.
There will be need for equivalent measuring item that is prevalent in our community that can equate the mudu measurement.
