The good thing about the market is that when a long-term or medium-term trend is clearly defined, everyone becomes an expert. Once the trend changes aggressively, they get wiped out and disappear. Crypto won’t be any different.

NkanAkpanika:
The Ikot Oku Ikono flyover, also touted as Ekom Iman flyover by opposing elements in the State is at the finishing stage.
HE. Gov. Udom Emmanuel had assured Akwa Ibom people during the last edition of “The Governor Speaks” that ALL projects will be completed before the end of his tenure", and he meant it.

For the about 2 years this project has lasted, the haters of 'Akwa Ibom Project' have used it to talk ill of the State and it's leadership, but I wonder what line they'll use when the project is handed and put to use.
I acknowledge the Governor for this massive project and his concerns in initiating new ones.

There is no where in the world you would kill security agents, boast about it and expect to be left alone. It's not possible. Military men were killed, butchered, videoed and put online for all to see..Comments from our Igbo brothers made us feel sorry for the East aswear. Do these people have conscience, we asked ourselves...
/
Where else in the world do security agents mount road blocks less than a kilometer apart extorting N100 from commercial drivers and killing those who refuse to pay?

They have to do the duties of security agents to be considered one. Uniform does not make a security agent. If they were doing their jobs, EndSARS wouldn’t have happened.

Romance › Re: Upcoming Wedding Palava by InvertedHammer: 7:56pm On May 18, 2021
Annoms:
I'll try to make this short.

Yesterday I was having a conversation with my fiancée about my mum's suggestion about how to go about our wedding which is scheduled to take place Jan next year. My mum suggested that we do both trad and white wedding on the same day to cut cost. She opined that we do the white wedding in the morning and hold the traditional marriage as a reception in the afternoon. I pretty much see reasons from her perspective considering the harsh economic condition in Nigeria.

I was relating this to my fiancée yesterday in a phone call, when she flared up and said I should have consulted her to seek her opinion on this marriage arrangement before going to my family to seek theirs because I said my mum's advise seems okay.

What I deduce from her plight was that she wants the trad marriage at the village (south-east) while the white at the town where we base (South-West). That was what I initially wanted but due to high inflation in the land, I'm actually tilting towards my mum advise because I can't go bankruptcy just because I want to satisfy her. Why not use a stone to kill two birds?

She wants a cream-de-la-cream kind of wedding but she's not ready to assist financially to make that happen. (she's an awaiting corper)

I told her that the cost of transportation and lodging people from the village (hers and mine) to the city for our white marriage alone is gulping about 500/600k. That's transportation & lodging alone ooo.. I'll now spend if not x2 of what I spent on trad for white.. Why not just do everything in the village and move on with our lives? We can actually have it in the village and it will still be all nice and glamourous.

She said she wants to have a say in how her marriage will look like. Her imput is welcomed. But if she still insist on having the white wedding and not putting finances into consideration. I'm thinking that she want the white wedding on the city because of her friends who will attend which is not enough reason to go bankruptcy for.

It was a heated argument yesterday. We both went to bed angrily and not in talking terms till now

Pls advice accordingly. Thanks

Never tell your wife that your action is based on a third party’s (especially your mother) suggestion.

Buy a notebook. Start writing down all the expenses you will incur in this marriage. It is very important because two years down the line after the fast-coming divorce, you will beat yourself hard for wasting all that fund trying to please a train wreck.

Any lady who still believe in glamour in this cash crunch era instead of thinking ahead deserves to be left alone. Memory of the best wedding lasts only about a week.

Be in-charge. Remember it can only get worse from here. She is not a wife or she is still immature. Either way, FLEE!

It’s happened before in the USA. It won’t work.

The case is a criminal one and government versus baba ijesha.

The only person to drop the case is the states prosecutor. Which could happen if not enough compelling evidence. That video can be argued away by a first year competent law student.

The girls parents, not the irresponsible guardian, could bring a civil suit, typically after a successful criminal case.

Irresponsible because she out the girl again in harms way to stage an incident. The way to do it is contactless like on “To Catch A Predator”.

So the soldiers carry guns they can’t even shoot. Any idiot can press a trigger but being able to hit a target requires a level of skill that Nigerian soldiers do not possess. Boko Haram will kill soldiers after shoot out with sustaining any deadly injuries. It is pointless giving bullets to the soldiers since they waste them anyways.

Health › Re: Working 55 Hours A Week Increases Risk Of Death: UN by InvertedHammer: 10:34pm On May 17, 2021
leksdigital:
It's funny how we have normalize nonsense in this part of the world, you will even hear people boasting of how they work 14 hours a day and sleep for 2 hours like it's an achievement. An average Nigerian works 10 hours daily then spends another 5 hours in traffic.

This is why I love white folks. There is no time you go to the beach that you don't meet them there. These guys work hard but they understand you need to refuel, they come to the sea and relax. You notice how relaxing the beach are. It's therapeutic. It has a way of just easing your stress.
But you will see Nigerians, Monday to Friday you will wake up by 4:3am get on the road by 5am , get to work by 6;30 , then work from 6:30 to 7:00 because it's a crime for anyone to close at work at 5pm normal closing time. You'd be seen as unserious. Then when you finally close, you chill a little to avoid traffic or just enter the traffic.
If you enter traffic, you will spend another 3 hours to get home, by 10pm
If you chill till 9;30 you will get home by 11pm.

Most Nigerians spend 4 to 7 hours on the road daily.
Then Saturday that you are supposed to rest, it's one family engagement or owanbe which is equivalent to work. Cos the kind of dance people dance at party these days grin it's more than work o. Then you leave the party drunk which will further weaken your immune system which is already weak due to stress.
Then on Sunday , you go to church, from Church you'd go shopping for the things you need the coming week.
You Get home start making food for the new week. By evening na house fellowship. You'd come back tired, and the cycle begins the following week. Even God your creator rested on the seventh day.

Then you get burn out, instead of some people to take leave they will convert it to money and even get burned out more. and the ones that decides to take leave will spend it not even resting cos half of the time your company is still sending you work and you are working from home., There is no way you can be innovative under such situation.

Nobody gets creative in that kind of settings.

This is why I have learnt one thing, apart from the fact that I work from home as a freelancer, I spend my Mondays chilling at a luxury beach. Then work starts monday evening, then work till Friday. Saturday is work and rest then sunday evening is work

So even those that eat groundnut and gossip all day in the Secretariats are considered workers too?

Politics › Re: Niger Delta Congress To IPOB: ‘No Secessionist Group Can Annex Us’ by InvertedHammer: 4:42pm On May 17, 2021
/
The only thing keeping Niger Delta in perpetual servitude is the fear of Igbo people. The Fulani play the same game with their brains all the time. They use Igbo to distract people of Niger Delta while they fill top positions with Fulani and give away oil fields to their Northern brothers. At the end of the day, the people of Niger Delta are left holding empty bags.

After the Southern Governors meeting in Asaba, they tried the same old gimmick of “Divide and Conquer” by spreading rumors that IPOB planned to attack Lagos. Yoruba people called their bluffs and the rumour died a sudden death. Cry not for Niger Deltans. They are the proverbial goose that lays the golden egg. Sadly they have nothing to show for it. grin

How can a woman be pretty in her 60s? You can’t cheat nature. She was pretty but cannot hold a candle where a 25 years old stands anymore. Pretty face is not all. Can she give an erection to a 65-years old man when naked? I bet you a 25-years old can. That’s why Bill ported.

Education › Re: Why Do Some Nigerians Think Being A Male Nursing Student Is An Abomination???!!! by InvertedHammer: 8:19am On May 17, 2021
/
It is not considered an abomination but you must understand that every culture operates in its own way. There are male nannies but it sounds as absurd as a male nurse. Sometimes na condition make crayfish bend. Na your life and you owe nobody any explanations. But expect such treatments from people in Nigeria. It is guaranteed. As liberal as Americans claim to be, once in a while you will hear condescending jokes about male nurses. What’s in a name? A lot of men will join the profession if they can change the name from Nursing to something trendy.
