/ It must be from facebook. There are always unverifiable and scary stories like this every time. It is difficult to know the truth anymore. But then the desperation for wealth is REAL. \\
Contract job is God's way of rewarding you. It is an opportunity for you to save up money to invest. But some folks would rather live large and have nothing to fall back on. Treat every paycheck as the last one.
For being excuded in the political equation, he prescribed education. Igbo folks are highly educated. What did it get them in Nigeria?
Akin to that, for being slaughtered by Boko Haram aka herdsmen, one governor prescribed prayers.
Why do they keep prescribing the wrong medication for the ailment called marginalization cum victimization? Is it ignorance, pure mischief or egoistic reasons? //
kretoz: Please pals, I heard health workers make it easier in USA, but my cousin a Dr who married a Nigerian guy who lives abroad and who has been there for 6 yrs came back and she doesn't plan going back, her presence shattered my idea of traveling out, please can someone clarify me cos I don't know how to ask her what happened since she looked malnourished and stressed out

She couldn't pass USMLE and ended up frustrated. That's all.
I think the ones that made up their minds to migrate are not online soliciting for advice.
They take a leap of faith and hope for the best. If your indecision is bc of advice from strangers online, then you are not ready yet.
No system is perfect. There are disadvantages and advantages to migration. Everyone should weigh his/her options. You will run into happiness or regrets from migrants. If you have nothing to lose, why not try migration. \
bjhaid: Its Just Grace and favor bro, a close relative moved into us 4years ago, he's got a Good job, an apartment in the Windy City, a car with a personal driver and kids, and lpr status.
/ Car with a personal driver?
You are a liar.
Even multimillionaires drive themselves. Personal driver thing is a Nigerian lifestyle unless in a crazy environ like NY.
You're very correct. guage is very important. But much more than that, the physical properties of the conductor itself matters a whole lot.
Two things determine the Ampacity of a conductor: The cross sectional area ( or size, or guage) and the physical properties of that conductor.
A unit length of 6mm2 Copper conductor has much greater Ampacity than a corresponding length of 6mm2 Aluminium conductor, despite being of the same size and length. This is Because thier physical properties are different.
Processed copper exists in different levels of purity and composition which affects the physical properties they possess. Some cables might reach or be close to the standard cross-sectional size... BUT are made out of copper alloys (with lower specific heat capacity and conductivity). They will consequently not perform as well as those with a much purer conductor.
In addition to sizing , the nature of the conductor in itself is pretty important.
It is nice you expanded on that. I didn't want to bore anyone with a lot of details on conductivity. As always, I like to keep things simple for all to understand in a layman's terms. I don't think anyone goes to the market to enquire about the purity of copper used in a cable. But you are right.
To add to it, that is why copper cables are more expensive.

/ Just trying to figure out how the plight of Kanu adds values to your life. Even with all the shenanigans going on in Nigeria per nepotism and favouritism?
Jonathan came into a gun fight with a catapult and you expected him not to concede the election?
He has no fight in him--a coward that was easily walked over by his underlings. If he didn't, he would have long been dead and buried. All the odds were stacked against him. He saved his neck. It has nothing to do with love for Nigeria. If he loved Nigerians so much, he would have transformed the nation into El Dorado with the vast resources at his disposal.
Domestic violence is the easiest excuse to throw around by women and all the nincompoops jump into the emotional bandwagon without ascertaining the real deal.

Considering the high population of the uber mobile Igbo folks, would it not be fair to assume that a good percentage of the candidates in SW and North are Igbo folks? Do you really believe Hausa folks have a total of 2m candidates for JAMB? Yeah right.
battleaxe: Uncle, while not taking away from your above excellent points, cable insulation is equally important. There is a reason insulation resistance rests are carried out on cables.
Just wanted to put that out so we don't settle for one against the other. Both are equally important.
Thanks.
I didn't say they are not important. Unscrupulous businessmen go to China and engrave the wrong sizes on a roll of cable. The goal is to maximize profit. When 1.5mm twin with earth is engraved and sold as 2.5mm with earth, then an electrician wires it to carry a load beyond its rated ampage, the copper melts and the house goes up in flames. Insulation coating has never been an issue in the industry so it is pointless addressing it. The cables are called standard cables in the market. Don't let the term "standard" fool you. It is a dressed up marketing moniker for Chinese substandard cables.
By mere holding and bending the cable back and forth, a knowledgeable electrician or trader can tell if the size engraved on the cable is accurate.
Btw, my first choice will be Cutix cables. The factory is in Nnewi.
abunafiu: I want to specially appreciate Allcopacetic for his support. Yes I used to believe I have experience in buying wires but mehn my GP drop when I was faced with reality. This shop is called JEZICO along Taiwo Road, Ilorin. I went in with full confidence and demanded for Coleman wires. I was convinced I was holding the original wire since Coleman was engraved on the insulation. At first I thought there was no need to inform Allcopacetic since all he said was found on the cable. I sent him pictures and then called him. When I then told him the price (9.5k Pre coil of 2.5mm), he told me he was sure I was buying the fake, I even managed to convince him that it was engraved black bra bla he said its fake. I began to sweat because it was a stressful day already. I then begged him to speak with the seller so I called back. They were both speaking igbo on phone but I am sure the guy was arguing with him and suddenly he later agreed to bring another type for 13.5k per coil. I now had the opportunity to compare both. The fake has thin copper and fat insulator while the original has thick copper and thin insulation. That night I came back home past 10pm so I end t round my house wiring, I discovered I was sold mixtures of both original and fake. Anyway thanks so much for the eye opener.
So I want everyone here to always buy from trusted suppliers. Don't act pennywise pound foolish.
Allcopacetic has his name in gold in this.
I also want to commend him for the accuracy in his supplies. I was privileged to to audit the electrical materials and fitting he spilled. All was intact. The owner then said "I told you he is a man of his words ". He never wanted to audit but I insisted. With many of you in Nigeria, Nigeria is blessed. Pls keep it up sir.
I hope to buy my electrical fittings too soon. I hope you now stock 3w, 5w LED bulbs for those of us who use solar.
NB: When buying electrical cables, your main interest should be the copper inside not the insulation coating.
1.5mm, 4mm, 6mm, 10mm, etc. Each one comes with Amps rating. It is all about the guage. Eg. Thicker 16mm is used to draw from electric poles to a house. 10mm is used for a/c and refrigerator outlets(15A sockets) while 1.5mm is used for electric bulbs.

facebookceo: A video in which the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu refused to shake the hands of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II has emerged and currently trending on social media.
The video shows the Ooni walking in and exchanging pleasantries, when it was time to greet the Oba of Lagos who was putting on a dark sun glass, he was snubbed.
What will you do if you were in his shoes? He has been oba for decades. He rolled up in a mercedes. This small boy became ooni about two years ago and rolling in a Rolls Royce. Oba is jealous. And Buhari no dey show face.
BuariCopyPaste: Dear members...i am of the type that says NO to bringing marital shortcomings to the social media but I just realized why others do so. I formerly got married on Tuesday 18th April but we are already headed for a bitter divorce.
To cut the story short, the whole issue started at the ground of our traditional marriage(Igba Nkwu). On arriving her dad's compound, I was stunned to realize her mother didn't make the provisions of which I paid her for. The DJ wasn't on ground, the canopies were just 3 and looking dirty, the chairs were not up to half of what i paid for. There was no light, no microphone, no decorations, the few food cooked were not served to guest and I was devastated. Out of anger and dissappointment, I started lashing out at my wife and she broke down in tears begging me for forgiveness. We managed to forge ahead till the the ceremony ended and we headed for my house. As our tradition demands, the newly married bride sees off her Aso ebis and return in the evening same day to welcome visitors. But alas, my wife went and never came back till Friday evening.
I queried her on her whereabout only for her reply in a harsh manner saying "where do you expect me to be", don't make me angry" God!! I couldn't believe it as it made me more mad in anger so I asked her to return to wherever she's coming from and leave our son behind(yes we already a year and 10 months old son). I actually made this decision to save face else how do I clarify the absence of my wife and son to visitors and well-wishers trooping in to see them? She hurriedly dashed into the room and picked her phone and stormed out of the house. Now her mother is accussing me of taking her daughter's son from her and stripping her of her belongings.
Now my wife is saying she's no longer interested in the marriage likewise her people(her father is late). I am still fuming with anger that I am at loss of what to do. I am not prepared to raise my son alone neither do I want him to be raised by her mother alone.
Should I initiate a peace move and apologize to her or should I move on with life.....I am seriously confused and fuming with anger that I was shortchanged and offended and still expected to offer apologies.
/ Listen to yourself. You think it is going to get any better? The sooner you get out, the better. What exactly will you apologize for? Your misery is only beginning. Do not marry out of pity. You can continue kicking the can down the road but the inevitable is around the corner. She has answered "Mrs" and it seems that it is all she and her mother care about. Be a man! /

The quote you had by Kanu is right on point.
When they came, people didn't follow Kanu's orders and that's why we are inundated with killings by the so-called "herdsmen". They believed that Kanu was BS'ing and what did that get them? Slaughter by Boko Haram erroneously termed herdsmen to sound less provocative.
