rapcy: Two days ago, a young man who goes by the name Aminu G Idris claimed that a Chinese Supermarket in Abuja denied Nigerians entry. Today Mohammad Jamu took it upon himself to investigate the case. Here is what he has to say with photos:
"Today I became a journalist!! how I saw the news trending about a certain Chinese Shop at Gwarinpa that refuses Nigerians access posted by Aminu G Idris and copied by Aishat Aishat Alubankudi immediately an investigative spirit took over me, as I approach Gwarinpa I was filled with excitement of seeing a shop in Nigeria that denies Nigerians entry, at the gate I saw a writing that clearly took me aback and instantly quenched my anger, it was an advice to costumers from the shop owners after being attacked by armed robbers a couple of days ago and they were merely taking precautions so they advise only an individual at a time not group of persons out of fear and tremor of what they experienced in the past, poor them being foreigners in another mans land. They were friendly on entering the shop and to my surprise other Nigerians were trickling to see for themselves too. My advise to those celebrating the story please verify contents before posting to the social media your action alone can destroy someone's Business in Islam we call it (Shaidar Zuhr ) Bearing false witness and Allah has prescribed severe punishment for those who thrive in it" / The notice is suspicious. It sounds reactionary. I believe Aminu G. \ |

Holywizard: I am so sorry to say this but it is actually the truth. Ever since I graduated last year my mum has made my life a living hell. I ve tried severally to get used to her bad attitude but all to no avail. She complains on every thing I do. In fact once she wakes up from sleep she must look for something to complain with.
Since I graduated, I automatically stopped receiving cash from them & they (she & my dad) doesn't even care whether I have money to recharge my phone. Since last year they haven't given me ordinary #1000 & once I complain they will say 'no money' but my mum especially keeps buying unnecessary things. No money but she'll buy new shoes, clothes, bags, cell phone etc which she won't even put on.
Last week, our last born of de family came back from school & she took him out for shopping & she spent not less than #50,000 on him. Everything she does now is on the boy. My mum can even wash the plates on behalf of him. Everything he does is right. She protects the boy like an egg.
When an old friend wanted me to come over to PH so that I'd be managing his business before I go for service, my mum refused, saying that the days are bad via money ritualism. All my elder siblings called me to talk sense into me that I should just stay back, I missed that big opportunity because I'd ve been having like hundreds of thousands in my bank account.
My parents doesn't care about my welfare. Right now I don't have up to #1000 in cash & in bank. I think they hate me & I I hate my mum the most!!! I just feel like leaving the house for them. / What are you still doing at home after graduation? They spent money to train you in school. It is time for you to go out there and become a man. You need to move out to create room for your younger ones to be trained as well. You can even assist in training your siblings. At what point are you going to grow up? You are just an ingrate. \ |

They always preach peace and yet buy weapons for militants so that they will come and steal the oil in the nation. Libya, Iraq, Syria, etc are all living proofs.
If I think of Libya, I weep for the wickedness of man to man. a once beautiful land has now become a place of pains and shame.
Every thing done has a reward. when their time for receiving their reward comes they will be surprised that internal conflict will help outsiders just as they've done to other nation / Why all the hate on America? What exactly has USA done to deserve all the hate? Every human being has a brain. Americans have problems, they look for solution. Most other shitty countries are only good for one thing--begging for alms or things they can easily acquire if they apply themselves well. A country like Nigeria next to the ocean lacks water. A nation with oil experiences fuel scarcity? A nation filled with fertile land importing food? A nation located in the hottest region of the world could not harness the solar energy for generation of electricity. And the little she has, her people steal and deposit in foreign banks; turn around to borrow the same money at exorbitant rates. When all the factors point to a group of people who have crab mentality, what is the easiest way out? Blame USA. \ |

CProf: Good day nairalanders, I need your advice and help on what to do because I am totally confused. I am 23, holds a Bsc from a Nigerian university. I recently got into a masters program in the US with full tuition waiver and a generous monthly stipend that would cater for my living expenses. I already have my particulars to apply for my F1 student visa but I'm scared because of the uncertainty that lies ahead; also the exchange rate is not helping matters I am sure I would get the visa but as I'm talking, I only have 100k left on me because I spent a lot during the application processes. I can huzzle and get my flight fee because I still have 2 months to resumption. Now, my headache is that I would still need up to $2000(roughly #700,000) to survive for the first month, pay health insurance and other small fees before I start receiving my monthly stipend of $1500. School resumes August 14, what should I do? Tried taking up loan from the bank but didn't work out. I am confused at the moment. Should I go ahead and get the flight fee, get to US with almost no amount except God provides an helper? Or should I just forget about my America dream I have exhausted all my options, God help me. Please advice a brother.
N.B My parents are old pensioners that only God knows when the government would answer them.
I am at a crucial point in my life. Thanks / How are you going to spend $2000 in your first month. You need: 1. Bus pass to get around ($70/month) 2. Food is cheap and readily available 3. 99 cents stores are there for your daily needs. 4. No health insurance. If you get sick, walk to the ER of any community hospital or any hospital....they must treat you. So what will be taking your $2k the first month? Do you have accommodation? \ |

LOL.
Why eat anyhow in Nigeria? The hospital bills when you get back to base and get sick is too much even for an ordinary malaria. God forbid if your insurance denies coverage. It is not as if you can run to the nearest Pharmacy to get medications like they do in Nigeria. One night in ICU will set you back at least $10,000. By the way, African restaurants are always booming in diaspora. Who are the ones patronizing them? Nigerians in Nigeria?
Peers are subject to envy. Exchange pleasantries but mind your business. Just like the OP, they looking for every excuse to criticize your actions to support the harboured envy. They do poison the ones around them. What makes you think you are safe?
One can only grow by aligning with people that are better than him/her. You can choose to hang around your peers and be the king of the hood but you end up limiting yourself.
Truth be told. You are exposed. Some things Nigerians take as normal (bribery, no electricity, etc) may be very irritating. Voice your concerns and you will be termed "forming".
It is always best to err on the side of caution. \ |

multikolour: No, humble and meekness type of leadership / It takes a lot of intelligence to differentiate between humility and low self-esteem. When your underlings can push you around and act under you with impunity, that's not humility at work. That's a zombie at helms of affairs. But with the vast majority of unemployable educated illiterates that litter the Nigeria space, I don't expect them to understand the difference. When you apply for a management position in any corporation, tell them that you are bringing meek and humility to the table. You will remain unemployed forever. Corporations want and expect good results. Nigeria is like a corporation. CEOs get fired for bad results. Meek and humility are not in the scorecard. With a good PR firm as image launderer, folks will honour dinner invitations as long as there are no obligations attached. It is called business interests. \ |

Automaton09: 1. Verify the customer complain, simulate the scenarios that would cause the complain real time. Don't start by disassembling or testing until the fault have being narrowed down to systems, sub-systems or components. 2. Analyze the affected component schematic diagram after narrowing down the complain to a system, sub-system or component, look up the schematic diagram and electrical circuit of the components, confirm how it was designed to function and confirm the circuit integrity. Based on the symptoms and your understanding of its functional design, identify the possible cause. 3. Isolate the affected component, test there circuits and confirming functional parameters by design. 4. Fix the affected components applying manufactures repair pattern. 5. Ensure the affected components circuits works, by testing all the repaired components as specified by the manufacturer. If these steps are meticulously followed during diagnosis, your fix is sure. IF IT IS NOT BROKEN... DO NOT FIX!!! Emission basically means emitting substance. Reactions that take place during combustion and their resultant by products. IDEAL: Combustion FUEL (hydrocarbons)+AIR (oxygen and nitrogen) CARBON DIOXIDE+water+unaffected nitrogen REAL: Engine Combustion FUEL + AIR UNBURNED HYDROCARBONS + NITROGEN OXIDES+CARBON MONOXIDE+CARBON DIOXIDE+water. Exhaust gases Hydrocarbon emissions(HC) result when fuel molecules in the engine do not burn or burn only partially. They react in the presence of nitrogen oxides and sunlight to form ground-level ozone, a major component of smog. Ozone irritates the eyes, damages the lungs, and aggravates respiratory problems. It is our most widespread and intractable urban air pollution problem. A number of exhaust hydrocarbons are also toxic, with the potential to cause cancer. NITROGEN OXIDES (NOx) Under the high pressure and temperature conditions in an engine, nitrogen and oxygen atoms in the air react to form various nitrogen oxides, collectively known as NOx. Nitrogen oxides, like hydrocarbons, are precursors to the formation of ozone. They also contribute to the formation of acid rain. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a product of incomplete combustion and occurs when carbon in the fuel is partially oxidized rather than fully oxidized to carbon dioxide (CO). Carbon monoxide reduces the flow of oxygen in the bloodstream and is particularly dangerous to persons with heart disease. Carbon dioxide does not directly impair human health, but it is a “greenhouse gas” that traps the earth’s heat and contributes to the potential for global warming. These are the reasons why they are termed as not being Environment friendly and needs to be controlled. In automobiles because the substances emitted are not Environment friendly, systems are designed by the manufacturer to monitor and control them. This is made possible by the use of SENSORS and ACTUATORS. Since components in automobiles are designed to function with certain parameters and have thresholds which are environment friendly, it is very easy to monitor the functionality of these components via a reference table(ECP/PCM or Brain box as we call it locally). We will be looking at the components that make up the emission control system, there generic functional parameters, there principle of operations, there defects, how they affect the emission system and how the aid in controlling emission. The Systems, Sub-systems and Components are: Catalyst, Oxygen sensors, Mass airflow meter sensor, Manifold absolute pressure sensor, Air intake temperature sensor, Idle air control valve, Positive crankcase ventilation, Throttle position sensor, Evap system, EGR system just to mentions few. Though we will discuss all and relate them. KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY TO EFFECTIVE CREATIVITY AND TRANSFORMATION.... Let's keep learning. / Wrong audience!!! / |
