platorepublic:/ My father played his part in life. Buhari is playing his part. Dangote is playing his part. Otedola is playing his part. Tuface is playing his part. Sanusi is playing his part. I am playing my part. All of us cannot be one thing. It is a society my friend. \ |
Bollinger:/ There is no such thing as a normal country. No country is perfect or even striving towards perfection. We enjoy alcohol in Nigeria but in the Middle East it is not openly welcomed. If you move around black neighborhood in Chicago, you stand a high chance of catching a bullet. If a lady walks alone in India, rape is almost guaranteed. If a lady in Nigeria jumps from one man's house or hotel room to the other for cash, she may get raped. The problem is the folks that pretend that all is well or should be well when they are not. \ |
2015: Nigeria That Buhari has no certificate and is too old to lead Nigeria. All warnings fell on deaf ears although understandable considering the fact that he was challenging a roundly hated incompetent and alcoholic slowpoke from the SS. The result has been near catastrophic. The body count is still growing. Fulani men on killing spree, ND Avengers on the prowl, no electricity, the naira crashed and about to be devalued, fuel price increased, inflation at peak. But the worst of it all, when Buhari wants to explain himself, nobody understands what he is saying. |
Bollinger:/ You answered your own question. If you know that people get murdered for stealing maggi in Nigeria, then don't steal maggi. If you rely on people not getting murdered anywhere else for maggi, the reality will set in when there is a tire on your neck. Nigeria cannot exist with the laws of another country. Rape in Nigeria is not analyzed the same it is done in the West. In the West, No means no. But as regretable as it is, in Nigeria it is hard for Nigerians to sympathize with a lady who strings men along for cash and material items and gets raped in the process. Even the police will not entertain the case unless of course to extort money from the perpetrator. They wont give a hoot about the victim in such case. If you like quote American constitution from Akwaibom to Zango Kataf. It is common sense. \ |
Bollinger:/ I am glad you know we are talking about Nigeria. Like I argue, case example: A lady walks around in a miniskirt expecting men to act civil because that's how it is done "abroad". In the same abroad, a lady calls 911 and the cops show up in less than 10mins. In Nigeria, you call the cops and they show up 6hrs later, that's if they show up. Won't it be wise to tailor your standard to your environment? Nigeria is what it is and anyone who wants to live like a European in Nigeria is bound to encounter stories that touch the heart and vice versa. \ \ |
EgunMogaji:/ It is not that serious. If you can sense the comic part of my comment, it should be enough. \ |
EVILFOREST:Your burial? ! |
EgunMogaji:/ They line up by choice not out of desperation. Boredom is real in the West. For some people, those few minutes at the pump will be the only reasonable face-to-face conversation they will have with a human for the rest of the day. Costco is a members only outlet. You pay annual fees to be a member. You are your own attendant. A grandma pumping gas into her car will make the line extend further. What are you going to do? Yell at 80-yrs old grandma to hurry up? \ |
Bollinger:/ A lady on a vengeance mission could have self-inflicted injuries to curry sympathy. I want to see torn clothes, bra and pant since she didn't mention threat of violence to initiate the act. \ |
/ The word "rape" is casually abused these days. Everyone has some text messages which if released to the public will make the devil out of an angel. This is a consensual business gone wrong. Promises were broken. Angry texts were exchanged. And a BT1000 went public. No matter how good she looks, don't mess with a savage. Rape is defined according to each culture. In the West, a woman can be nude, suck a man's organ, caress him, mount him and still cry rape because the man didn't stop at the fifth pump when she yelled "STOP". And the judge will hear her case. But in Nigeria, rape is when a woman is forcefully (or under threat of violence) taken, unclothed and has canal knowledge of. Armed with this knowledge, a lady should thread better. \ \ |
EgunMogaji:/ The folks at Costco are people who have off days and have nothing better to do with their time. No sane person will go to line up at Costco stations just to save about 10 cents a gallon (considering the price difference between Costco and Arco). In Nigeria, they forgo other things to line up because there is no guarantee that the fuel will be there tomorrow, not with the way Kachukwu is talking from both sides of his mouth. \ |
An0nimus:/ I see your point. Kudos. \ |
/ LOL. That guy has balls. \ |
An0nimus:/ I am talking about issuing credit cards like they do in every other place where anyone with any kind of jobs can get credit cards. As it is, credit cards are not very common in Nigeria for obvious reasons. It is the same as loans. Banks in Nigeria give out loans all the time (we know) but goodluck getting that loan if you are a commoner. \ |
DICKtator:/ They won't let you clear your account if your cash in the bank is the collateral. You will get "Insufficient fund" notification. More like they put a lien on the money in your account and the lien discharged in equal proportion to the amount being paid back until all credits are cleared. I think it is called secure credit card. |
/ Just curious. What if you refuse to pay? How do they collect? \ |
Think about the mindset of a Nigerian. Mr. A works for XYZ. He has a credit limit of N500,000. And in this era of uncertainty, Mr. A is fired on Friday. He walks into his bank and maxed out on his cash back. Worst case scenario, he will have a bad credit. No jail time, no asset s foreclosure because credit cards debts are unsecured loans. Repeat this similar scenario a thousand times. Will collection agencies work in Nigeria? Will the banks hire Samoans with baseball bats to collect on deliquent accounts? The best a bank can do is give credit backed by the amount in the individual's account. Then it defeats the whole concept of credit facility. |
lawyer:/ 1. Nigerians sacrificed their future for cups of rice and 2. Not every diasporan has immediate families in Nigeria. 3. One has an option of not picking calls or going to Western Union to send money. 4. The academic proponents of subsidy removal have all disappeared just as would proponents of devaluation---reality is a bas.tard! 5. Don't forget...Nigeria is the best place in the world. "It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled"...Mark Twain \ |
Agunnewi:/ LOL!!! Every man to himself. No one is shouting APC nor PDP anymore. I love it. People watching their pockets because wage remains stagnant. Just like devaluation, subsidy removal looks good on papers. But reality is a b!tch. Nigerians can only learn the hard way. PMB is really tightening the noose. Survival of the fittest Kudos to PMB. There are quite a lot of educated illiterates that nature need to get rid of in Nigeria. \ |
tollyB:/ The proponents of devaluation should see this. FGN devalues, parallel market follows suit. This is just a tip of the iceberg. Zimbabwe in the making. Market price is determined by parallel market price not the official rate that is not accessible to the public. \ \ |
argon500:/ THIS IS ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!! The judge might as well have told him to go home in peace. \ |
/ That's more like it. Stop bothering innocent folks and go for the head. It could be shakara statement too. The funny thing is that this is always the best way to get FGN's attention. MASSOB and IPOB are learners. Nigeria is not a sane place for peaceful negotiation. The agitators will be slaughtered. / |
/ They deducted from employees but failed to remit to the FG. What has FIRS been doing all these years? The top management should be fired. \ |
/ As expressed are opinions not proof. You don't know. I don't know. Nobody knows. It is all open to speculations. \ |
/ Loot recovery should be fast and furious: 1. Freeze the accounts. 2. Arrest the criminal (with evidence) 3. Prosecute. 4. Wire all frozen funds into TSA. 5. Initiate lien on assets and property (local and internationally) Key: Once in custody, the criminals turn into " chicken". That's the best time to initiate recovery. Jail time is mandatory (1 year for every N10m, not concurrently). N450m? Yuguda is looking at 45years without parole. Dasuki? His wife, children and grandchildren will finish the rest of his 210 years sentence How I wish this loots recovery could be subcontracted to the US IRS. The hefty penalties and interest alone can cause massive stroke. / |
sweetheart12:/ There are more than 2 men in the world. Don't be like Nigerians that were made to choose between only two bad products in 2015. One boyfriend is surrounded by uncertainty. The other is enmeshed in indecision ganished with the penchant for violence. Stay away from both of them. \ |
Abagworo:/ The design is somewhat impressive. The quality of work is disgraceful. Nothing looks straight. \ |
This is how it starts -- media love. Perhaps another TBillz and Tiwa in the making |
Alphanancy:/ He is a scalper. He will get burned out by trading fatique. It is a matter of time.\ |
/ Folks start trading with $5000 or less and call themselves traders. When greed got the better part of them, they blame the system. It is not about making money in forex. It is about staying in the business long enough to be consistently profitable. One hit wonder doesn't count because they usually grow so confident that they give it all back. If you don't have atleast $20,000 to trade with, go find a real job. Most importantly, people do forget the amount ot time and energy needed to be a successful trader. Trading is more difficult than a lot of people will like to acknowledge. It is not a Get-Rich-Quick scheme. You have to treat it like a business and not like a walk into a casino. Oh! You don't have to trade forex. You can trade equities, commodities, etc. \ |
/ If Jonathan had probed all the probables during his tenure, the task would have been half easier. He thought that if he let criminals off the hook with their loots that the same considerations will be accorded him too. Poor judgment! The only thing constant is change. All these are campaign funds. One can imagine what transpired in all the other non-election years. Jonathan deserves to be hung by the scrotum since his balls are useless practically and figuratively speaking. \ |
adeyemi2015:/ The question is: Why is Nigeria not taking preemptive actions to stop the massive lootings instead of resorting to chasing the funds after the deeds? The funds were wired out. What stringent measures are in place to punish erring banks and bank employees who cosigned the transfer? \ |
