ishmael y are u particular about state univerities in the east are u saying they are not good. see guy the federal universities have lost their glory they only carry names and a lot of students who do runs to get 2.1 or first class, even 2.2 in quote are more in the federal universities. ther are some few state universities that produce better graduates than the so called high class, over hyped federal universities.though we have a lot of mushroom state universsities so also we have a lot of lost gloried federal universities. so do not just condem state universities alone. capishe.

Kano state is touted as having 9.4million citizens and yet only had 10,807 applicants for the 2006/07 UME examination, Ogun with a population of 4.05million had 41,377 applicants alone! more than 4 times the number from Kano which purportedly is 2ce the size of Ogun in terms of population!

Is it the same UNILAG that records not less than 70 first class every academic year?
(as though its that easy to make a first class)
Or is it the UI that recorded 4 first class graduates( & the rest of the class 2.1) from Computer Science debt at one sitting? (a friend was one of them).

How about UNN where every body graduates with a 2.1 (try to make a survey).

A friend's friend graduated from UNILAG with a first class in Bus Admin. She is a high class runz girl who never attended lectures or wrote exams. She paid for all her A's and very few B's.She is presently in d highest paying oil company. She did not write any apt test. The rest has become history.

So don't start a topic you are not well grounded in.

those u have first class please lets give it to them because i don't think u can pay your way through to first class even if someone try he/she would be scared because he/she can not defend it.

I'm not really suprised lagos and kano have similar figures

It's very obvious in the case of lagos because it is small and very congested especially on the main island But not too obvious in kano because its quiet big and they have many villages especially on the way to/from zaria and other states around it.

what happened is that the north really prepared for the census.They know that the southern states are lukewarm about the census.We have to realise that the north are good planners,when state governors in the south weren't serious at all,the northern governors were making arrangements so that everybody was counted,they left nothing to chance at all.

Nawa Aboki, learn to read. I didnt say I know all of Nigeria. I said I have visted some of the so called populous metropolitan city and compared to Lagos they are not that populated. That is all. Abi you are going to say Kano is more populated than Lagos like your Aboki Ishmael?

i support u shevchenko. infact its gettin too much the way banks, celtel & co r doing most of the graduate out there can not say they actually worked for what they have 2day. some used their body and the others paid. well i wish 3rd class & 2.2 all the best. God will make a way where there seems 2 be no way.

Please "unnatural causes"" you are talking to an educated person. Infant mortality rate is highest where in Lagos? and life expectancy in Lagos. If you are talking of civil unrest and accidents theres a fair share everywhere.

Life expectancy and infant mortality rate determines the death rate, i.e how mayn children die at birth and how long people live, arguing that kano has a low death rate than lagos is not logical. My statement that death rate is low in lagos is comparatively compared to its likes Kano etc not the international world.

The credibility of the census is questioned thats the point.

hahahaaha, there are tens of first class graduates without a job. We should rather focus on if it is the degree or the person that does the job. I have seen efficos who are extremely brilliant but anti-social, they can't mix with people. Are you now asying that this kind of persons would give optimal productivity in an organization? Absolutely not! Guy third or first class does not matter if not for the perculiarity of the Nigerian Job market.
Have you also asked yourself some of this third class graduate the way and manner the finished school? Some of them were extremely poor and couldn't afford a simple lecture note. So guys stop all these ramblings.
