@ Vieira,

You are in trouble.
Where have you been all these days?
Was looking for u cos i wanted to ask u a question about the 'ville on caledonian road. . . . . .

Anyways, Senderos is shit. Drogba always takes the piss outta him and he is not fit to wear the red shirt.
Loyika mentioned Senderos and Djourou representing Switzerland @ the world cup. Who else could have represented Switzerland?
If Djemba Djemba could represent Cameroun . . . . . .I wonder why Senderos wont star for the SWISS.

Arsenal still needs a defender.
In the attack, if all the players can play with commitment and to the best of their ability, they will deliver.
Adebayor and Walcott must step up their game to compensate Van Persie's good ability.
Wenger can't afford any more striker as they dont come cheap these days.
Why can't Wenger sign Chimbonda in his team?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Jackal(m): 12:18pm On Aug 01, 2007
@ Vieira,

Did u say Justin Hoyte, Traore and Djourou?
So u are telling me Hoyte and Djourou will be a good replacement for Toure/Gallas in a Champions League match.
I can now understand why gunners under-achieve. U tend to over-estimate ur crappy players.

Its like me saying Silvestre, Johnny Evans, Shawcross are good replacements for Rio/Vidic.
How can u tell me Djourou and Traore are talents capable of reproducing what Toure/ Gallas will do on the pitch.
Arsenal still needs a defender. There's nothing wrong in having 8 top quality defenders in a team.
Wenger does not have 8 quality defenders so he should work on getting it.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 11:33am On Aug 01, 2007
@ Ruudie,

Tevez will click at Man United.
He is too gifted a player not to gel with prodigies like Rooney and Ronaldo.
The only issue is how soon will he join and what is his fitness level when he joins?
I would naturally expect Ferguson to open the doors of Carringtons complex for Tevez so he can train while the legal wranglings are being dragged in court.
Carlos needs to start hitting the ground and get FIT for the season.

On Rossi's issue. . . . . .
The reason why i won't worry too much about it is because Fergie always have the last laugh on decisons like this.
Take RVN's issue for instance, i nearly fainted when he was sold to REAL on a cheap and see the aftermath.
To me, it defies logic. The season we sold a 25+ goal striker a season is the season we have scored the highest in the league.
Its irrational but that is FERGUSON for u. Sometimes, he doesn't get it right so we can only hope he has made the right decision.
Saha should have been sacrificed but Fergie knows better.

@ Doyin13,
Ruud is not known for being a goal-mouth scorer.
He is simply known to be good for his POSITIONING. No player on this planet has Ruud's instincts and he just seems to read the flight of any ball played to him better than everybody else on the pitch.
He is the only player that benefitted so much from the new offside rule and he's a menace to any defence.

McCarthy can't cut it at Man Utd. The shoes are too big for him to wear.
The guy is good but he is not the kind of player that will please Ferguson.
Huntelaar is the only player i can see blending with the young players we already got in the team.
Alex likes em young and promising. Benni is quite old now and he would stop delivering in few years time.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Jackal(m): 11:15am On Aug 01, 2007
What Wenger needs is a good defender.
Senderos is just a Arrow as far as i am concerned.
He is not fit to be called a gunner.
Eboue, Gallas, Toure and Clichy line-up is one of the best, if not the best back 4 in the league but are there any good replacement if any of the quartet gets crocked? NO

Sagna, i heard, is an UTILITY player like Gallas who can fit in anywhere but Senderos? Cygan?
This is where Arsenal's achilles' lie.

The Midfield is dope and i don't really envisage any problem in the middle of the pack.
Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Flamini, Gilberto are top dogs.

Attack? Adebayor should improve.
Thierry Henry has gone now so i expect the Togolese to step up his game and deliver the goods.
Van Persie remains the best in the attack line and maybe Theo Walcott will also get decent run of games to sharpen up his skills.
In all, Arsenal looks good if they can be CONSISTENT.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 11:06am On Aug 01, 2007
@ I-man,

Have no doubts about it.
Tevez will join Man United on or before the 25th of August. Its only a matter of time.
Some compromises are being arranged even as we speak to settle the matter out of court.
KJ and West Ham have realised it won't be in the interest of Carlos Tevez to delay the issue any longer as it will unsettle the player.
I am 110% confident Tevez is destined to be a Man United player.

On the issue of Nani, i totally disagree with u.
Nani was brought in to understudy an ageing Ryan Giggs. How many years more do u think Giggsy can give in top-flight.
The earlier we bring in a future replacement, the better it is for the team.
Anderson was also brought in as a future replacement for Scholesy so the gaffer knows his onions.
U have to agree with me that Giggs is a shade slower than he used to be and i see Nani taking charge sooner than later.
Ferguson should have sold SAHA, SILVESTRE and SMITH to land an out n out striker in the mould of HUNTELAAR and BERBATOV.
SAHA is an excess luggage . . . . . .A good player, no doubt, but whats the essence of being a good player when u only play 12 league games outta 38 in a football season?
If every player in the Man Utd team is injury-prone like SAHA then we should start preparing for a long hard season in the COCA-COLA championship league. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:44am On Aug 01, 2007
@ Kitaun,

Don't worry about SAHA.
He will drop to the bench when Tevez arrives.
Can SAHA remain fit for a month? HELL NO.
My grandmother is more reliable on the pitch than SAHA so i can't just be bovvered about the French dude.
He is a waste of space.

Still a GLOBAL DECEPTION? Not really.
Everyone now knows he is injury-prone so he cannot deceive anyone like before.
This is exactly why Fergie is bent on signing Tevez. He knows SAHA cannot be count on to deliver when it gets to the CRUNCH or squeaky bum time.
Lets make a swap . . . . . .SAHA for VAN PERSIE grin grin grin grin grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:35am On Aug 01, 2007
@ Ruudie,

Some sick motherfuckers crossed a LION and a TIGER to produce an enormous cat called LIGER.
You need to see this sonofabitch cat standing almost 12ft on his hind-legs and weighs 1000 pounds.
People are sayin they should release em into the WILD but isn't that playing God?
Just because we can do doesn't mean we SHOULD.

@ Loyika,
I agree with you.
Fergie deliberately favoured West Ham in the final game of the season. What made it worse was he told Warnock he would field his strongest team to maintain fairness to other relegating teams in the Premiership. Did he keep his words? No.
Some school of thoughts think Sheffield United should have done their home work on the pitch and not rely on Man Utd Vs West Ham game to win BUT my question is why did Ferguson made a promise he couldn't keep?
It was a hard punch for Neil Warnock and i hope other managers learn from this ordeal.
Arsene Wenger is still the biggest culprit when it comes to situations like this.
I remembered one season he promised Ferguson he would field his 2nd team as Man Utd's 1st team were just coming back from an European game.
The senior members were tired and Ferguson sent the reserves to highbury to play Arsenal in a cup game.
When Arsenal's team list came out . . . . . .Fergie nearly collapsed, the names read Henry, Ljunberg, Pires, Bergkamp while United's team read Spector, Evans, Chadwick, Jones, etc.
The outcome was inevitable: Arsenal 3-0 Man Utd. grin grin grin

@ Kitaun,
Rossi has a chance if Ferguson had kept faith.
He is technically better than Saha and Smith.
Rossi is a deadly finisher. The only snag is his height(he's a midget) and maybe STAMINA as he can be bullied by burly defenders.
Ferguson must have thought having Tevez, Rossi and Rooney in a front line will be a team of MIDGETS. grin grin grin grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:15am On Aug 01, 2007
@ Loyika,

Don't even start . . . . . . . . . . . .
Losing Rossi is like Arsenal losing Theo Walcott. cry cry cry cry cry cry
Sometimes i think Ferguson plays God and it worries me why a talented player like Rossi can be sold JUST LIKE THAT.
He was one of the most talented youngsters United have in their reserve team and he is going to be missed.
Rossi WAS one of the reasons i watch MUTV especially when the reserves league is ON.
No one is saying UNITED is not BLOATED but there are other players Ferguson could have sold instead of Rossi.
Whats Silvestre, Louis Saha and Smith still doing at Man Utd?

Tottenham is really trying to close up on the gooners and this season might be their last chance.
I have no doubts in their strength in depth, the only snag with this team is CONSISTENCY. They play a good match today and have a bad run for 3 weeks.
If they can find form and consistency quickly then they might have a bite breaking into the BIG 4.
Martin Jol is a very good manager and one has to applaud what he has done since arriving at White Hart Lane.
Can't wait for the season to start and see what the under-achievers have in store for the BIG 4.

@ Ruudie,
Lets digress a bit.
Have u ever heard of a LIGER?
Watched a documentary some weeks back and i can see why people think MEN will destroy this world.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 7:15pm On Jul 31, 2007
@ Lordi,
Thanx. i appreciate it

Meanwhile, The Premiership will be tougher this time around.
There will be massive improvements in smaller teams and the gap between the BIG 4 and the rest will close up like it's never been.
Chelsea and Man Utd will always be the top 2 no matter how u look at it because of the strength in depth.

Arsenal's first XI is good enough to match the Chelsea and United but i worry about their BENCH(fringe players).
If any member of the 1st team gets injured, there won't be many quality players to make a perfect replacement.
I can understand what Wenger is trying to do. Breeding a set of young players blended with few senior legs is what Fergie did in the mid-90s and it worked for him.
Will it work for Wenger these days that the stakes are higher? I really don't know.

The Scousers are ready to fight n challenge for the title but Rafa's tactics is his greatest undoing.
He doesn't seem to know his winning formular yet and this is where Liverpool always have problems. There's no consistency in the back four and too many changes and formation just disrupts the structure and the dynamics of a team.
Rafa is the master of Cup competitions but consistency will not let him accrue 90 points in a season that guarantees the Prem title.

Chelsea. If i have to be frank, Chelsea looks the favourite to clinch the title. Knowing how ruthless Mourinho is when everything works out for him, he will bamboozle his way to grab the title. I see Jose as a wounded lion who must try and prove himself once and for all. Mourinho is living on it's last life and won't go down without a fight. He will sacrifics fanciful football for boring and dull matches to clinch 3 points at all means. You can expect this season to be like Jose Mourinho's 1st season. He won't experiment at all. I see Mourinho sticking to a team of 11 players as long as they all stay fit and maybe few changes here n there when one or two players get injured.

Man United are the champions thus there's a latent pressure on their shoulders. The team looks healthy but can be healthier if Tevez joins as soon as possible. Wazza's the only world class striker in the United ranks and i don't really see him shouldering United's burden throughout the season. He will need Tevez's help to haul United's sorry ass back to glory. Solskjaer, Saha and Smith are injury-prone so u can count them out.
Van Der Sar's form has been suspect since he broke his nose at Tottenham and he worries me this new season. In all, Fergie will have to conjure another miracle with his magic wand to retain the title.
If u ask me? it's more difficult than Nigeria winning the world cup . . . . . . . . .

In conclusion, The season is promising and going to be more exciting than last season.
There are now more top draw managers in Goran Eriksson and Lawrie Sanchez with massive influx of quality players all over the globe.
MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heinze will be painful but my heart will shatter if Rossi goes to Juventus.
I heard Fergie is trying to work out a swap and thats unacceptable.
Rossi is used to Man Utd . . . . . . . Scored a high number of goals for the reserves and i am sure his time will come.
Ferguson must re-think, Silvestre , Smith and Saha should be considered for exit before the young Italian.

I just listened to Ferguson's interview now on MUTV.
He said Heinze is going nowhere. He expects Heinze to join Man Utd next monday.
Ferguson claims he needs Heinze as a back up for his Quad challenge as the stakes are higher.
I saw conviction in that interview and i have a feeling Heinze might not be going anywhere afterall.

Back to Footie,

KJ was in the High Courts today to start proceedings with West Ham.
The Court has decided to resolve the issue between August 22-25(3-4 days trial)
So there's light at the end of the tunnel for Carlos Tevez as the Court promised to make a decison on the 25th of August.
It means come what may, Tevez will either be WEST HAM'S or MSI's. KJ was shown on TV smiling and he says he is confident he will WIN.
He also gave interview he decided to reject West Ham's offfer of 6 million because the offer is unfair to him.
We wont be having him in the 1st 5 matches but he should make the Tottenham match by 1st of September.

What should we do to Lordi?
In the Mosaic days, LORDI would have been severly punished.

Thank God for the Human Rights Act.
No one can do that these days without invoking the wrath of the international community.
So where does this lead to?
Should Lordi be Blinded or Castrated?
The Holy Bible tells us if your eyes make u sin . . . . .Pluck it out

He was in a different league.
Remember Confederations Cup in Saudi Arabia 1997.
He partnered Romario in that tournament.
1st match(group match). . . . . . .Australia Vs Brazil and it ended 0-0.
The Aussies were in a frenzy that they stopped almighty Brazil and thought they were good enough.
Final: Brazil 6-0 Australia. Ronaldo got a hatrick, Romario got a hatrick.
This match is one of the best attacking football u can ever witness on TV.

Ronaldo ran the Aussies defence ragged.
The Aussie defence will still be having nightmares of Ronaldo running at them.
He made em look like fools and wimps and it was just amazing for a 21 yr old to capture the world in that manner.
Mario Zagallo(Brazil's manager) stood up and kept applauding and applauding the young lad all through 90 minutes.

@ Somze,

This is the moment of CLARITY and maybe the moment of TRUTH.

First all, there was nothing spectacular about Drogba's goal against Man Utd. Any player could have done that as what Drogba needed to do was just to dink the ball the way he did and many players would do that with their eyes closed.
However, Drogba is a good striker. He is all about power, sheer strength and raw skills. His goals against Liverpool, Everton, Barcelona and some spectacular headers against Arsenal(Carling cup) and Bayern Munich(UEFA 2005) were all TOP DRAW. There's no question about all em goals. They were top notch.

However, what we are saying is DROGBA in RVP's shoes in the same set of circumstances wouldn't have done what Van Persie did. Maybe he would have scored as well by just blasting the ball against Toldo and taking a wicked defelection to score but i don't think Drogba is THAT INTELLIGENT to do a drag-back and just create the space to SCORE.
Not too many players are that composed in front of goal.
Would Drogba have scored Kanu's equaliser against Brazil in ATALANTA '96? HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Moreover, there are some goals Van Persie would miss and Drogba would score with his eyes shut. The goal Van Persie missed in the 6-yard box on saturday was a shame. A player like Drogba would score that so these players all have their strengths and weaknesses. In Persie's goal, Drogba will run out of ideas and wouldn't have made it look as classy as that. The goal deserved to win NOT ONLY THE MATCH, but the tournament and this is what we are arguing about.

No one is saying Super Drog is NOT good in his own ways.
Blimey, he single-handedly dragged Chelski's sorry ass to the 2nd spot in the Premiership with goals, goals and more goals.
Can he do it again this season? Thats the question we should be asking ourselves.
Robin Van persie? I have never had any doubts about the talent of the young lad.
The Dutch don't have many things with quality but i can guarantee anyone they have the best breed of STRIKERS in the world.
Not even Brazil can boast of special breeds of predators that Holland possess.

@ Loyika,
You can go back to Arsenal Vs Chelsea Vs Man Utd Vs Liverpool thread.
I chose Robin V Persie to partner Rooney because i've always loved Dutch strikers.
They r simply the best and if RVP can stay injury-free, he will give Drogba a run for his money on the scorer's chart table this season.

Sheva and Ballack's wages have a a non-significant effect on the Profit/Loss accounts at CFC.

Say for instance, Chelsea gets a magnificient 70,000 capacity stadium and they fill it up week in week out. . . . . . That will amount to like 2-3 million pounds every matchday and thats some mad cheddarz for the club. The FA will be forced to organise few International matches whenever Wembley is under maintenance since Chelsea FC is closer to Wembley than any other stadium in London. Roman has to get it right with match attendance and this is where i think Man Utd makes more money.
Chelsea as a club with multi-million pound players is too big to be having a disappointing 40,000 as their highest match attendance. The stress will definitely eat up the profits.
Clubs like Fulham, Reading with the same capacity do not HAVE high salary players like Ballack and Terry so it evens out and they cant feel the STRAIN.
Lil' wonder Liverpool is building a stadium soon.

Anutha factor is the merchandise. Chelsea hasn't really sold their brands all over the world.
Roman and Kenyon should go to Far East Asia and explore it the way Man Utd has done. The best trick is to sign one Asian player and the rest is history.
Mourinho prefers buying Africans and apart from Nigeria, where u got die-hard fans, other African countries are too poor to worry about buying merchandise.
Even Nigerians prefer buying the fake stuffs and it doesn't contribute anything to Chelsea's coffers so Asia is the best place to promote marketing.
Ferguson signed Dong Fangzhou and Ji Sung Park to explore the Asian market. grin grin grin grin
