European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manutd Vs Chelsea (battle Of Old Trafford) by Jackal(m): 10:50am On Nov 25, 2006
@ nuggard,

Ferguson will NEVER play a 4-5-1 formation at home-thats OFFICIAL.
OT faithfuls would never pay to watch a boring and defensive United side at Old Trafford.
ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK is the slogan so 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation will be deployed.

The battle will focus mainly in the midfield area where Carrick and Scholesy must take charge.
Carrick has been superb. Not in a charge about bullying and crippling people way. But just look at how our midfield actually keeps and distributes the ball this season. The best for about 4 years. Do not underplay Carrick's role in this match.
He is an excellent player, not like a rampaging Keane, but already a vital player for us. Hes worth a million Phil Nevilles, Oafsheas or Fetchers. He is class, and will get even better.

Scholesy on the other hand must link the attack really well. His concentration must be top-draw and be ready to intercept loose passes from the Chelskites. I know it's going to be difficult but Essien is the only main threat in the Chelsea midfield. Mark Essien out and United will have the advantage and carry the day.

Ronaldo n Giggsy should also have a field day and i have a gut feeling Ronaldo will cause all kinds of trouble for Ashley Cole and the Cannibal.
Saha will want to impress as well after his dismal performance in the mid-week. This is his chance to bury his demons and sting Jose Mourinho's men and get Fergie his desired 3 points.

Prediction: 1-0 or 2-1 to Man Utd.

so far so good chelsea is maintaining a clean sheet in the champions league.
How can a team that lost a match keep a clean sheet?
It seems some people dont even know what football is all about.

Chelsea is keeping a clean sheet and they lost to Weder Bremen?
I have never heard this kinda arrant nonsense before.
Some heads def'ly need to go back to school.
What a shame?

United enjoyed being written off, United has been written off worse than this before and Ferguson still triumphed.

All the Arsenal fans are on exile cos it seems like a dream that United is 12 points ahead of Arsenal after just 1/3 of the matches played.
Vieira, Bagoma, Priscilla, Skintite, Babwilms, and many others have fled NL cos its unthinkable to think ASSnal would be this far out on the chase for the title.

I have signed JACKMODU but we are still worried about his medicals and his age.
He claims 21 but X-ray reports prove he is at least 38.
We are still working it out and we might not sign him if there's any descrpancy in his age.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Strictly Arsenal: by Jackal(m): 2:59pm On Nov 24, 2006
The information u have got failed to show that Arsene Wenger has never beaten Bolton in the Premiership.
In addition, in the 51 games played at the Reebok stadium between the 2 teams Bolton has won 24 and Arsenal has won just 12 with 15 games drawn.
Its no rocket science, Bolton has the edge on their soil and will pulverise the gooners tomorrow.
This why every fan/pundit  in the world knows tomorrow's game will go Bolton's way.
What Bolton does is to bully Arsenal off the park and most deicisions will go Bolton's way because they are playing at HOME.

Any team capable of imposing its physical presence will always beat Arsenal.
Sam Allardyce knows what to do. Gallas' absence will also add to Bolton's advantage so y'all gooners should expect a horrid time especially with Anelka and El-Hadji Diouf assuming the role of tormentor-in chief.

My Prediction: Bolton 3-1 Arsenal.

@ Kitaun,

I have predicted more results right than u do.
Jackal was the only one that saw Everton getting a draw at the Emirates.
All y'all were saying 7-0 until Tim Cahill broke ur hearts.

The results of this weekend have been revealed to me.
They are 2 victories, no draws.
I will give u the details this time 2mrw cos i dont wanna break hearts so holla me up in exactly 24 hrs.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 6:34pm On Nov 23, 2006
@ Kitaun,

The same SAHA gunned down Benfica in Portugal(United is the 1st English club to record a victory on Portugese soil).
Chelski under Jose went there and lost.

Louis Saha was also the weapon used to grill Celtic at OT but he lost his head in Scotland and he missed a penalty.
I can't blame him for the penalty miss. Good players all over the world have missed penalties in eve more serious contests.

My point here is write United off at your own peril.
Ferguson has been challenged times without number and he has been able to respond to every question asked.
Pizzagate was an acid test most people felt Ferguson would fail but he came out flying and ending Wenger's unbeaten run.

Last season was even worse as United was trounced 4-1 by Middlesboro before meeting Chelsea.
All known soccer journalists in UK wrote Man United off. Even Roy Keane criticised Man United players on MUTV but what happened?
Chelsea lost to a feeble United team that lost 6 senior team members to injury.

Ferguson is the only manager in the Premiership that has achieved various mean feats time n time again.
United has a 1st team capable of beating Chelsea. Take it or leave it.
Man Utd will attack and keep knocking until the door will OPEN.
I back Man Utd up to steal a convincing victory.
Expect United to be hungry for a victory especially after the manner by which they lost in Scotland.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manutd Vs Chelsea (battle Of Old Trafford) by Jackal(m): 5:11pm On Nov 23, 2006
JACKmodu my good pal,

Don't mind those gooners.
Have u noticed how dry Nairaland sports is these days?
I can bet its just because Arsenal is not doing really well.

If Arsenal can conjure up 7 victories on a trot then u will start seeing old n forgotten faces back on Nairaland.
These folks know the season is almost over for Arsenal.
No much joy in UEFA, last season was their best shot at it but they bungled it.
The prem title is out of reach because Chelsea and Man Utd must lose 4 or 5 matches before Arsenal can take the top spot.
Whats left? Carling cup and FA cup.
Season is over for goooners.

The best teams in England are clashing on sunday.
Its huge but the best are supposed to clash at he top.
Any result will just suit United because we r still going to top the table no matter what happens.
Expect United to win at home and maybe Chelsea will win the corresponding fixture at the bridge.
I have a feeling we will share the honours that way.
Take a chill pill. wink

@ Mr Kit.

U got it wrong the last time.
I predicted on Nairaland that West Ham will thrash Arsenal and u guys thought i was a prophet of doom?
Did it happen or not?
I also predicted Chelsea will lose to Spurs and it panned out to be true.

U don't have to be a rocket scientist to know Arsenal can NEVER beat Bolton.
A draw seems possible but Wenger cannot beat Bolton to save his own momma's life.
Lets see what the gooners have to offer on saturday before the grand finale on sunday.
I am very confident my team is capable of beating Chelsea and thats OFFICIAL.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 4:25pm On Nov 23, 2006
All the talks about Man Utd this n that has kept Man Utd comfortably on the league table with 3 points to spare.
Maybe we should throw away the points on sunday so that crappy teams like Arsenal can catch up.
The league will be too boring if we win on Sunday as that will put United 6 points clear with a huge psychological edge. grin

United's chance of getting a decent result on sunday is miles better than Arsenal's chance of getting one.
Why? We have done it before and we can do it again. Chelsea bit dust the last time they visited OT.
I can't remember Arsene "Viewer" Wenger ever recording a victory at the reebok stadium in his 10-year mangerial career.
Every sports fan in the world knows another shocker awaits Arsenal.
The clock is ticking and Arsenal might just forget about winning the title if they lose to Bolton FC.
Why? Cos Man Utd will be 15 points clear and that spells doom for all gooners.

Saha? Rooney? Ronaldo? Giggsy?
Where ya guns @?
This is it. Take Chelski to the cleaners and get the maximum 3 points by hook or crook.
Make it rough if they want it rough, keep it tidy if Chelsea wants it tidy.
Go for the jugular and leave a carcus for Mourinho to take back to London by the time the final whistle blows.

UP UNITED.

@ Everyone,

Only an slowpoke will come to this thread and think United is all about boastings.
Man United is on top of the league, Chelsea is 2nd and trailing with 3 points.
(ARSE+anal) is 4th and trailing United with 12 points with a game in hand.
The league table does not lie, The facts are there for everyone to see.
United has scored more and let in less goals, what other conviction do u morons need to see?

Chelsea will fall.
There's no rocket science about it.
The best Jose can get is a draw and that still puts United 3 points above Chelski.
Gay Wenger is traveling to Bolton and i can bet it's going to be another sorrowful weekend for gunners worldwide.
Points will be dropped at Reebok stadium and Arsenal would trail United by 15 points come 6pm on Sunday. grin
I am loving this.
Bring Sunday the Bleep on.

@ superstar1,

Anutha brilliant post.
I cannot fathom out why anyone would feel Chelski sold the match to Weder Bremen.
Weder Bremen were better than Chelsea in all departments and they were very good in keeping the ball well.
There was no joy for Jose Mourinho's men as Weder Bremen's midfield were compact and did what they had to do.

Mourinho is a winner so he would be the last manager to sell a match.
Chelsea tried to win but they weren't good enough.
Hopefully, they will not be good enough on sunday when they meet the Devils.
It's on, its WAR.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 11:01am On Nov 23, 2006
They sold what match?
U guys should tape it shut with ur conspiracy.
Chelsea was beaten through and through. End of story!!!!!!!!!!

Weder Bremen were right on cue.
They kept the ball well and they took their chances.
Chelsea were left chasing shadows and the midfield never functioned last night.

I know y'all rats would still come back here to say Chelsea sold the match to Man Utd because Rooney is fucking John Terry's sister.
Weder Bremen were the better team last night, please accept that for a fact.
We await ur antics n tactics @ OT.
Expect a showdown. Watch out for Ronaldo.

@ Amodu,

You r starting to change ur stand.
Why are u now rooting for a draw? Was it because of ur team's shambolic performance last night?
Weder Bremen outplayed y'all guys with all the mega stars in ur team.
Michael Ballack was anonymous throughout the game and only Essien was the real driving force in the midfield.

Drogba's a doubt for Sunday's match so what does that tell ya?
United is going to grill and scream Chelsea's brainz out when the match kicks off on the 26th.
The die is cast. The clock is ticking.
Trust me on this one, the pendulum will swing to Manchester.

@ nuggard & Justkunmi,

I am happy we have been on this argument before on SAHA.
U guys nearly crucified me when i told u SAHA is not clinical(Check post 122 on this thread).
He seriously lacks goal-sense and he gifted Celtic the 3 points.
SAHA is an Algerian donkey and i am happy u guys now know the truth.

Giggs lofted a delightful through-pass to SAHA and he hesitated thinking he was offside. and looking at the Ref assistant when he should have scored before doing the checks.
A sublime striker would always be aware of his runs and would have known he wasn't offside.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy might have missed the penalty like SAHA did(as a matter of fact, he also missed a pen for Madrid last night) BUT RUUD would have scored the chance SAHA had when he hesitated in kicking the ball into the net.

@ Grizzly Bear,
I welcome the loss cos Man Utd displayed one of their best performances in the season with quick and sublime passes plus movements.
The loss will only SPUR United into more hunger and thats what we need to DEMOLISH the russians.
United lost 1-4 to Boro prior defeating Chelsea in the corresponding fixture last season at OT.
We will beat Chelsea. Take it or leave it.

Benfica to beat United at OT? Its a far cry.
Ferguson will make adjustments and we should qualify with ease.
A draw is enough to see us through but Benfica needs a win.
Didn't United win Benfica last season at OT?
Say ur prayers, Tape 2 sticks and make a crucifix cos SUNDAY will be too hot for u BLUES.
RED is the colour and United we will STAND.

UP UNITED.

@ J/K

Howard Webb has been named the referee to take charge of Sunday's proceedings.
A very good decision by the FA to let a neutral referee officiate this mouth-watering tie.
Graham Poll is an Arsenal fan and Rob Styles is a Chelski fan.
Either of these 2 refs would have been a bad omen for Man United but i am satisfied with Howard Webb.

UP UNITED.
ROONEY + SAHA + RONALDO= Avalanche of goals for Man Utd.
C'mon RED DEVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZ.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manutd Vs Chelsea (battle Of Old Trafford) by Jackal(m): 3:46pm On Nov 21, 2006
@ nuggard & Justkunmi.

Smithy made United win the fixture last season.
He single-handedly bossed the Midfield until Gudjohnsen came on as a substitute for Chelski.
Smithy made some top draw tackles and he rendered Essien/Lampard worthless in the middle of the pack.
His determination to win things is what i admire about the Yorkshire lad and he will take some stopping should he start on Sunday.

John O'Shea(The Gambian Turkey) is a light-weight and he is always caught ball-watching.
Makelele and Essien will blow him away because O'Shea cannot impose himself physically the way Smithy or Roy Keane can.
United needs a player of a die-hard attitude as a holding midfielder as the battle will be won in the Midfield.
Saha and Rooney will give Terry and Carvalho some headache and i am confident United's attack will deliver.

This is OFFICIAL.
Man Utd 2-0 Chelski.
Who wants to bet?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manutd Vs Chelsea (battle Of Old Trafford) by Jackal(m): 1:31pm On Nov 21, 2006
@ nuggard,

What are u expecting on Sunday?
The only weakling in our 1st XI is Michael Carrick.
How i wish Fergie can slot Smithy to partner Scholesy so as to wrestle the midfield away from Chelski.
If we ALLOW Chelski dominate the MF then we might struggle.

The defence should hold together with Vida and Rio.
The attack will be awesome as long as Rooney supports Saha with Ronaldo and Giggs causing chaos around Boulharouz and Cashley Cow.
United should win by 2-0.
