The author of this thread is obviously deranged.
Henry is obviously dead. He has been insignificant this season.

Ruud on the other hand is LETHAL.
Bangin goals in different leagues and different competitions sets him apart from a dead teary hurry.

@ Akola,

I'm sorry to have kept u waiting on this juicy analysis.

Van Der Sar and Petr Cech?

Van Der Sar will beat Cech to it in terms of experience and good communication.
The Dutch wizard has been there and done that for club and country at the biggest stage.
Edwin made a difference even when he was at Fulham FC so his CLASS speaks for itself.

Petr Cech is a gem but i worry about his goalkeeping skills when he is not playing for Chelsea.
His performance at the last world cup was woeful without the likes of John Terry and Carvalho giving him protection.
He's got excellent reflexes but he is still a toddler compared to Van der Sar.

Whats your take on this?

@ Kit,

Unfortunately Mustay and Moskey are/were self-acclaimed gunners.
U will hardly see United fans or Chelsea fans creating rubbish threads on the sports forum.
Count the number of gunner threads on Nairaland and see what i mean.
Someone formed Strictly Arsenal recently and we already had For Gunners Only so u have to admit your posse can sometimes be an irritant. grin grin grin
Can u now understand why i am not always happy when Arsenal wins?
Arsenal's victory  = 5-6 senseless threads.  shocked

This thread here is a kool thread.
I have seen a similar thread on Nairaland before where someone pasted pics of the new Emirates stadium.
Everyone appreciated it so give emmagined some space to express himself.

U need to be at OT to feen what it feels like on European nights.
A trial will convince ya.
Dont hate, appreciate!!!!!!!!!! grin

@ Akolawole,

Thats the fact of life.
We all saw it at OT.
United's 1st XI outplayed and outshadowed Chelski's 1st XI in the 1st half.
Chelsea's fortune changed when they made their susbstitutions and United could not match Chelsea's quality on the bench.

While Mourinho was bringing in players like Robben and Joe Cole Fergie was relying on Fletcher and O'Shea to change the match.
That is where Chelsea is stronger than all the teams in the league but United's 1st team is the best in the land.
U need to take a look at the league table and ask yourself why United is STILL 6 points clear.

Easy for Kitaun to criticise this thread, afterall its for Man United.
I have seen more than 20 worthless threads created by Nairaland gunners over nonsensical issues but no one says shyte because Arsenal fans has the right to type fuckever shyte that runs on their feeble minds.
Most of these threads remind me of Nollywood titles.

Titles like Igwe and Venger, Gunners 4-5-1 , Gunners 4 eva, Gunners rule, Wenger is the man, Theo Walcott vs Maradona, Gooners and Gunners, Henry is sleeping , Giberto is in love and so on and forth.
Arsenal fans are the same globally. Loud-ass mouths and no visible action to justify the talks.

Buncha schmuks.

@ Akolawole,

I was laughing ma ass out when i saw those comments about my person.
This is not about google, its the football environment i grew up in.
I have older cousins, relatives, older friends and old tapes to back my facts up in world football.
There was a time i know all the clubs that have won the FA cup and what year they won it in Nigeria.
People talk about these things around me and i listen.

So dont even go about trying to debase my source of knowledge.
U dont have to be as old as Methuselah to know so much.
Lemme even jolt u the more. I know a certain striker way back called Jimoh Balogun.
I know Osaro Obobaifor and Tarila Okorowanta.
Uwem Ekarika, Andrew Uwe, Ayo Ogunlana and so many other names.

I watched Leventis United V Abiola babes FA cup final match of 1984/85 some few days ago on VCR.
Nigerian Football has declined greatly if u compare what they had then with now.
Toyin Ayinla's own goal was the decider in that epic final and i heard the commentator saying there was a promise by the Military Administrator then that whoever scores 1st will pick N1000.
Toyin Ayinla scored a beautiful own goal to pick up that prize. grin
Isn't that hilarious?
Hmmmmmmmm, don't Bleep with ma knowledge in football.

I have experienced some couple of European nights at OT and there's nuthing like it.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Strictly Arsenal: by Jackal(m): 4:57pm On Dec 07, 2006
What hype?
The players u cannot really reckon with in England squad are on the bench.
Crouch, Downing, Shaun-Wright Phillips are the kinda players that have not found the consistency and they sometimes make the team due to suspension/injury to the 1st XI players.
England might not boast of a rich 22-man squad but they have a 1st XI that can match any team in the world.

I saw a full-strength England team play Argentina last november and that was a good reference.
If i may remember, Ashley Cole was missing in that match and that gave way for a mediocre Wayne Bridge.
The Argentines were smart enough to see Bridge was the only link and that was where they got their 2 goals but England still triumphed.
England went out of the world cup because Owen and Rooney were out of form.
They lost to Portugal because they played 10 men for almost 1 hr.
Who knows what would have happened if they had 11 men for full 90 minutes.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 4:42pm On Dec 07, 2006
@ Loyika,

Arsenal is a rubbish team if u look at their position on the league table.
United lost 2 matches and still had 12 points to top their group. Spot the difference?
Top in Europe, Top in England.
This is one thing Arsenal has never achieved.
When was the last time Arsenal sat on top of the league? Some 28 months ago.
Thats pathetic and the fans make the loudest noise celebrating failures.

I was in North London early this year when some gooners were celebrating 4th position on the league with no title to show for it.
The scenario was so bizzare and i asked myself what Chelsea fans or Barca fans or Man Utd fans should do when Arsenal fans were out there celebrating a failure.
Any team can beat any team on their day but can Arsenal beat the best of Barca? Nahhhhhhhhhhhh
Chelsea and Man Utd can crack it but i don't see the best of Arsenal ever beating Barcelona.
The squad is too young and inexperienced to give it a shot so forget about Arsenal being a great team.

@ Kitaun,

I can't believe u are using UCL as an example to compare Man Utd and Arsenal.
Save for last season, Arsenal has never played in the S/finals of any Champions league before.
The same Arsenal wobbled into the finals and lost so whats the fuss about?
I shouldn't be here slugging it out with u.
Let Arsenal win the Champions league before i can start to see the team as a great team.
Thank goodness, Wenger himself said Arsenal is not a great team yet until they win the Champions league.
What else is there to say?
United won it in 1999 and achieved the treble status so who is greater?

Stop deluding yourself.
Some teams are invincible and will always be.
What will u say about the AC Milan team that went 64 matches unbeaten in the early 90s?
Are they invincible or not?
Arsenal team of 2003-04 were almost invincible but they lost the steam after some time.
That Arsenal team will not LOSE no matter what form or schitzo that comes their way.
Barcelona at full strength should also be seen in that light.
Barca on a good day will rip, tear, damage, demolish any football team in the world and still give fans good value for the money while they win.
That is a football team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 1:21pm On Dec 07, 2006
Messi and Etoo flops?

Messi is the best young player in the world by miles.
Samuel Etoo is the best striker in the world at the moment.
Inject the 2 players into the Barca team again and they will have any team for dinner. grin grin grin grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Strictly Arsenal: by Jackal(m): 1:16pm On Dec 07, 2006
@ Kitaun,
Ya argument makes me wonder sometimes.
Any player can have a horrible world cup.
I am sure the English players performance iat the 2006 World cup is not as woeful as France's in 2002 World Cup.
Trezeguet, Cisse and Teary Hurry were golden boot winners in their respective leagues prior the world cup and none of em could score a single goal for France. How horrible is that?
Zidane had a brilliant season with Real Madrid scoring a spectacular goal @ the Champions league but failed to live up to expectation, some heads will say his injury was the factor but i dont really think so.

Pls forget about Nigeria and their over-hyped players.
Some people have argued here before Martins arrival that he was better than Rooney. What happened when he came to the Premiership?
He is still insignificant as far as i am concerned.
Easy for u to say this player is better than that but let your Obodo come and play in the tough English league.
Shevchenko and Ballack will explain to u why they have not been a ball of fire since joining Chelsea.
Many players have come here and faltered because it is not easy adapting to the fast and very physical approach of the English league.

@ Akola
Majority of these players are world-class.
Madrid wouldn't have paid for Beckham and Owen if they thought they were just bunch of over-hyped players.
Barcelona is still eyeing Lampard and can u mention any team in the world where Gerrard, Rooney and Joe Cole will not break into the 1st XI?
Its so easy to criticise English players because we see what they do week in-week out.
U do not watch French league or Serie A religiously like u watch EPL so u dunno how bad some players from other countries perform every week.
If Chelsea decides to sell Terry, Lampard, Joe Cole and Ashley Cole today u will be surprised at the number of top clubs in the world that will be opening their cheque books.
These players exhume class and thats why they get paid enormously.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 12:56pm On Dec 07, 2006
@ Loyika,

What did Arsenal win last season? ZILCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Can Arsenal win the UEFA champions league this season? U and I know that it aint fucking possible.
Can Arsenal win the EPL? Never, not this season anyways.
So whats left? Carling "Milk" Cup and FA cup.

This is not a matter of any team can beat any team on their day.
Barcelona thrashed Arsenal at the last UCL because they were technically better than Arsenal.
It took Barca just 12 minutes to score their 1st goal until the referee disallowed it and sent Lehmann off.
The other matches were a mixture of fluke and good fortunes.
Villareal mashed and brushed Arsenal in Spain only for Roman Riquelme to miss the penalty that could have taken the match to extra-time.
How many matches has Arsenal lost in the EPL this season alone if they are "that" good?

Arsenal can NEVER  beat Barcelona anywhere. Take it or leave it.
I don't even fancy Man Utd beating Barcelona as it will bore down to who scores more in the home and away legs.
What do u take Barca for? We are not talking about Newcastle or Bolton here.
Barcelona might lose one or 2 odd matches here and there but they have the resources to demolish any team.
Arsenal is still nowhere their level and thats a fact of life.
Will Wenger pray to meet Barca at the knock-out stage? No way.

Arsenal is this n that but Wenger remains the only manager amongst the big 4 that has never beaten Mourinho.
Fergie has done it, Rafa has done it many times and Newcastle, Boro and Charlton have cracked it.
Lets see what happens when the 2 teams clash again on sunday.
I am sure by then Arsenal and their loud-ass fans will know where they belong on the league table as United would have gone 19 points clear. grin
Arsenal my ass--------------

@ Kitaun,
Barca is my 2nd team.
I support a team each in all the major leagues in Europe.
Having said this, Man United is on top of the others.

U are the one confused here because u don't know what football facts are.
Sevilla messed Barca up and blah blah blah.
What happened when the 2 teams met in La Liga? Who came on top.
Only a fool will NOT recognise Barca's prowess in Europe these days.
Did u see how Chelsea celebrated a draw? That shows how strong Barca is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are the best team technically, tactically and entertainment.
Arsenal entertain but hardly win. Barca entertains and still win. Spot the difference?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Strictly Arsenal: by Jackal(m): 11:55am On Dec 07, 2006
Lampard & Terry were pathetic at the big stage just like how Ronaldinho and many players were very pathetic.
The World Cup wasn't so spectacular for many soccer stars so quit that line of argument.
English players have proven over the years that they have got the nerves to make it happen.

Steven Gerrard single-handedly won UEFA champions league for Liverpool in 2005.
Is he from France or Slovakia?
John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Ashley Cole all had a brilliant world cup.
These players have the quality to contest at the big stages.
I still believe the injury of certain key players and Eriksson's team selection at the world cup was the reason England didn't perform to expectations.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Strictly Arsenal: by Jackal(m): 11:18am On Dec 07, 2006
@ Akola & Kitaun,

I disagree with u guys.
English players are NOT average. English players have got quality.
There's no calculus about it.
Are u saying John Terry or Frank Lampard are average or what?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 11:06am On Dec 07, 2006
I don't think so.
Man Utd and Chelsea can do it but Arsenal and Liverpool won't scale that fence.
We are talking about Barcelona here not READING.

A full-strength Barcelona team will demolish any English club and take their souls out.
If Chelsea have the same problems Barcelona is having now they wouldn't have qualified.
Barca is playing without Etoo, Messi, Marquez and Saviola. Thats the equivalent of Drogba, Shevchenko, Terry and maybe Joe Cole.

U will see a new Barca by February.
All the long-term absentees would be fit and ready by then and thats when the cookie crumbles for other teams.
Barcelona will function better as a killer squad with Messi and Etoo around.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:52am On Dec 07, 2006
I can't be scared of any team.
United plays better when they face big teams.
Look at the 1st half performance against Chelsea-------------That was the best 45 minutes i have seen United play in a long time.
We can do the same against Barca cos we know they are very good.

All i am saying here is United have a squad of XI players that can match any team in the world.
What Man Utd lack now is the bench that can support these 1st XI players when the going is getting rough.
The difference between Chelsea and Man Utd is the reserve players but Man Utd's 11 is a bit better than Chelsea's 1st 11.
I wanna see Ronaldinho and Gudjohnsen at OT.
It will be a sell-out and a great spectacle for football.
UEFA------------Pls give us Barcelona so we can have em for dinner.

@ JACKmodu,

Its going to be feisty.
Arsenal fans have printed BLUE Ashley Cole's 20 pounds currency notes to wave at CASHley Cole whenever he touches the ball.
This is what they are relying on to put Chelsea off balance. Will it work?
Is Gallas going to the Bridge or still injured?

I just want u guys to take each other's souls out and neutralise the game play.
A score draw or a goalless draw will definitely suit me.
Arsenal should put up a stellar performance and for once, i am going to be a gooner for 90 minutes.
Its a big ask for Arsenal because Chelsea has everything to smash Arsenal into pieces but u never know with football.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal.  grin
Joe Cole and John Terry for Chelsea.
Van Persie and Hleb for Arsenal.

@ Bolaoni,

I really don't mind Man United going against Barcelona at the knock-out stages.
The fact is United team can upset any team in Europe and thats OFFICIAL.
Besides, we fans have to expect the worst at this stage if we've got the hopes of winning the Champions league.
Whats wrong with England's finest slugging it out with the Spanish giants?
Saha Vs Puyol, Dinho Vs Neville, Scholes Vs Deco , Ronaldo Vs Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen Vs Vidic, Rooney Vs Marquez. Guily Vs Heinze grin

One team i don't want us to ever meet is Real Madrid.
I'd rather we meet Barcelona than meet Real.
Van Nistelrooy + David Beckham will make it his own show and u can always bet he will score against us.
How would that make us feel having RVN score a goal at OT or at the Bernabeu? DIS-GUST-ING.
United Vs Barcelona should be exciting as Larsson will also have a dig at his old team-mates.
We can take Barca out if every player stays fit.

Muki knows we play the most attractive football in the land.
There's no doubt about that.
Ronaldo is just a delight to watch when he does his thang. grin
He terrorised the Portugese defence tonight with sheer skills and stealth.

United had to justify why they are the best.
Top on the English Premiership, top in the Champions league.
Saha is also looking to have found a goal scoring streak.
He has now scored a goal each in the last 3 matches.

Thankfully, United does not need to think about Europe till february.
More quality players are joining in January and we should weather the storm.
I have a gut feeling we might meet Barcelona.
Thats gon' be exciting.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:41pm On Dec 06, 2006

United loves to do it the hard way.

He is better than 500 John Terrys cloned together. wink

I heard Wenger and Porto's manager entered a truce.
The truce was: DON'T SCORE US AND WE WON'T SCORE U.

U must be dreaming.

Its obvious u dont know history brtween British Clubs on Portugese soil.
This is one match Portugese team always win. Its more like a jinx.
Only Louis Saha has been able to dent the jinx and he has not broken it yet.

Benfica still demolished Celtic some few weeks back so watch out for Porto.
They are slimy, tricky and know how to waste time on the pitch.
If Porto scores first then Arsenal should just forget it.

It simply means no UEFA, no Premiership.

Benfica were beaten by Man Utd on their own soil so expect a harvest of goals tonight.
The lads know 30 million quid is at stake, they wont want to miss the cash lottery.

My only concern is Arsenal.
Man Utd is the 1st British club to have won on any Portugese soil.
Chelsea under Mourinho and so many other clubs have tried but they all failed so Arsenal has a tricky game on their sleeves.
Porto can just take it easy with Wenger and just play pinball for 90 mins or go for a KILL.

I'ono how u guys analyse situations.
Man Utd needs at least 2 midfielders and one quality striker in the class of RVN.
This present team can only boast of a quality first XI but after that, nuthing else.

God forbid but if any of the players in the 1st XI suffers a long-term injury United will struggle.
Ronaldo, Scholes, Vidic, Rooney are simply irreplacable.
Ferguson should get players that can change the course of a match and stop relying on wimps like O'Shea and Silvestre.

I am very optimistic United can go 9 points clear on saturday.
Chelsea and Arsenal should neutralise each other and that will widen the gap.

I just wanna be a temporary Arsenal fan for now cos i want Chelsea to drop some few points to widen the gap btw the top 2 teams.
The best result for me is a draw and that will put United at a vantage positon to claim the Premiership.

Drogba is on fire, although Vidic kept him in check for 90 mins at OT but trust Didier to produce magic against the gooners.
Senedros playing at centre-back will be a disaster, Gallas should get well and get the stick at the Bridge.
The match will definitely take place between Parsons Green station and West Brompton station on the district line.

I am still scouting for a ticket in the black market.
