European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Serie A, Premiership, La Liga Or Bundesliga? by Jackal(m): 12:05pm On Aug 17, 2006
@ Dayokanu,
I decided not to reply u cos i have won the argument.
More veterans play in La Liga than the EPL.
Amedeo Carboni of Valencia played last october at the age of 41yrs in La Liga.
Dino Zoff holds the record of the oldest player to play in the Serie A and he retired at the age of 42.
The oldest player ever to play in the Premiership is Teddy Sheringham and he is still 39.
How about that for a stat? shocked shocked shocked shocked

The average age of any team in La Liga and Serie A is almost twice that of any team in the EPL.
Van Der sar joined the Premiership at 31 and Ravanelli joined EPL at 27 which is quite okay.
U must understand Edwin Van der Sar is a goal-keeper and being old n experienced is the key in signing goalkeepers.

81.8% is still lots more than 78.5% so it means La Liga is more predictable than the EPL whether u accept these facts or not.
No doubt,La Liga has the flair and the general technical game play is better but the overall package belongs to the Premiership.
U cannot compare any football league in the world with the Premiership.
It's the largest growing sports league and thats why Billionaires are getting interested in the EPL.
Why didnt Roman go to La Liga to buy Barca or Real Madrid?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 2:06am On Aug 17, 2006
Man Utd is def'ly the most hated club in England.
If the Amsterdam tournament is high profile enough to ban Man Utd players then Gerrard and Mellor should have been banned three years ago.
Saying you didn't receive a report is a feeble excuse. Rooney and Scholes have been given a 4 match ban having already served one match in the tournament itself, how can the FA get away with that?

Also a few seasons ago Wayne Rooney got banned for 3 matches for the slight push on Ben Haim of Bolton. Last Sunday in the Community Shield, Essien of Chelsea pushed both of his hands in the face of a Liverpool player and wasn't even spoken to. The FA are definitely are biased against United.
Whatever Rooney, Scholes or Ronaldo does is a capital punishment but Essien, Lampard and many other players are sacred cows.

Do u really think IBB would contest for the Presidency if he knows there's an off-chance that he will fail in his bid?
IBB is the most intelligent man in Nigeria and i am sure he must have calculated the risks to the very last contigency.
This is a man that ruled Nigeria for 8 years against all odds.
Have u ever sat down to think the number of coup d'etat IBB survived in power and how he was able to walk around it unscracthed?
Do u realise IBB is yet to fail in any of his endeavours?
Never under-estimate the Genius. I will come back here in 2007 to rub shi.t on ur face when IBB comes back to power.
Trust me, he must have done his home-work and i am 100% certain no individual or group of people can head-lock IBB in Nigeria.
Not even the Notorious P.I.G(Obasanjo) and his pit-bull(Ribadu).

Back to the issue at hand,
Don't be mis-led by various opinion polls u see online cos Nigerians can be dodgy.
If an opinion poll was conducted online in 1999 then Olu Falae should have floored OBJ cos OBJ did not even win in his neighbourhood in Ota.
Don't get it twisted, Nigeria is complex and u cannot really say who wld win until the elections so take a chill pill on that.

I didnt benefit anything during the IBB regime but he is a man i respect a lot.
He ruled Nigeria for 8 years and his decisons and programmes were simply subliminal.
IBB overthrew Buhari cos Buhari was a dummy being controlled by Tunde Idiagbon.
Buhari lacks the quality of a leader and an average Nigerian knows this as a fact back in 'em days.

IBB killed Dele Giwa? OJ simpson killed his wife and maybe Jerry Useni poisoned Sani Abacha plus Abdusalam poisoned MKO Abiola. grin
I dunno what u are talking about cos as far as i am concerned the whole situation is inconclusive.
Its just a propaganda and IBB is innocent until anyone can prove to me beyond reasonable doubt that he is guilty of the crime.
All the high-ranking officers u know that claim IBB was involved in drugs trade should tape it shut. No proof, No evidence and thus no conviction.
Nigerians are always eager to spread un-substantiated news.

What harm did IBB inflict on Nigeria?
Do u realise Nigerians lived better in those days than now?
Check out the statistics of suffering index in Nigeria conducted by the WHO in 1993 and now in 2006.
The mortality rate(death rate) is now higher than before and birth-rate is astoundingly lower.
More people beg alms on the streets than before and the abject poverty has sky-rocketed astronomically.

FYI, if u don't vote for him millions of people will do so ur vote against IBB will be insignificant.
IBB is a genius and i am sure he will work wonders as a democratic President.
He was the brains behind ECOMOG that restored peace in war-torn Liberia and many West African countries.
IBB for President is a dream come true.

Posterity my ass.
Why didn't posterity judge the Jerry Ganas, Usenis, Abdul-salams, Akhigbes, Arthur Nzeribe, Adedibus, Sarakis and the likes.
There's nothing like posterity judgement in Nigeria cos u will be surprised that the same clique of hoodlums will still come back and rule the country.

Nuhu Ribadu is a Arrow and i still maintain he targets OBJ's political enemies.
What direct relationship does the EFCC have with the suffering masses in Nigeria.
OBJ/Ribadu should channel the resources and funds to help alleviate poverty in Nigeria so that an average Nigerian can eat, clothe himself and have a decent place to lay his head at night.
Let OBJ tackle the issue of epileptic power supply as that alone can make me vote him as a life president.
60% of the problems in Nigeria will be solved if OBJ can guarantee constant power supply.
I'd rather as a ruler combat abject poverty in Nigeria than waste resources in caging looters andfraudsters.
As a matter of fact, more fraudsters are walking the streets of Nigeria than the ones caged.
I strongly believe the purpose of setting up EFCC has been defeated cos people are still stealing Govt funds.

@ Mariory,
Stop mis-informing the public.
Sometimes its better to tape it shut than say what u know nothing about.

Abu Hamza is currently serving a 7-year jail sentence in Belmarsh Prison in London.
He was supposed to be extradited to Yemen for bomb-plots but UK being a member state of the European Union is party to an agreement whereby extradition must be refused to any country which has the death penalty and where the suspect is to be tried in a capital case.

UK did not comply with the Yemen authorities because they fear Hamza will not get a fair trial.
Hamza is a naturalised British citizen although the procedures of removing his citizenship has begun but it will take a long time to reach that decison because of the judicial review involved.

Donald Duke is a rat compared to IBB.

@toshmann,
I know its sad but u have to agree that Muslims and Terrorism go hand in hand .
There's no point in trying to be diplomatic about glaring facts.
Can u honestly tell me what comes to your mind when u hear of a terrorist plot or attacks in the UK or the US?
Its right on our faces and we all know the perpetrators/culprits are muslims/arabs.
My mind tells me there's a direct relationship between Islam and violence.
How many churches got burnt by Muslims in Northern Nigeria in the wake of the Muhammad's cartoon?
Isn't it weird that a cartoon printed in Denmark would cause chaos and anarchy in faraway Nigeria?
What about the violent riots prior to the miss world paegent show that was supposed to be held in Nigeria?
The list is endless.

In fairness, not all Muslims are terrorists but one must admit all Terrorists are Muslims.
Why do u think the British authorities are considering passenger profiling at Heathrow airport.
Any dude with an islamic name will be subjected to more security checks at the airports because they are the ones always strapping bombs and explosive chemicals to maim innocent people.
Take it or leave it, Islamic clerics need to do more in edifying muslim brothers to abstain violence.
I strongly believe they are not doing enough and majority of them preach violence on the streets of UK.
A classic example is Abu Hamza(The Hook-man). He holds public rallies in London and tell his entities to kill the infidels(Westerners).
Hamza helped to create an atmosphere in which to KILL has become regarded by some MUSLIMS as not only a legitimate course but a MORAL and RELIGIOUS duty in pursuit of perceived justice.

@ loyika,
Save your breath for Dayokanu.
He knows he had lost this particular argument and he is desperately looking for a way out.
I nailed his coffin by letting him know that Real Madrid and Barcelona(The 2 dominant teams) had won the La Liga title 18 times in the last 22 seasons and thats 90%
The EPL has Man Utd and Arsenal has the dominant force and the 2 teams collectively have won the league 11 times in 14 seasons which is barely 80%.
Can anyone tell me which league is more predictable?

Michael Owen and David Beckham made their mark in the La Liga whether u agree to this fact or not.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored a goal in Madrid's pre-season already and u can bet he will def'ly bang in more goals.
Tomas Gravesen has been a solid rock in the middle of the pack.
Mateja Kezman(Chelsea reject) is now a cult hero at Athletico Madrid.
Diego Forlan surprised everyone by clinching the pichichi in a league that has Ronaldo, Raul, Etoo, Messi. Ronaldino, Robinho and Fernando Torres.
Forlan cld not even make a 1st team in United and he is one of the most important club figures in Spain. tongue

Did u say EPL reeks of veterans who had been chased from other serious leagues? I am having a giant laugh grin
Lemme tell u authoritatively that La Liga smells of grand-dads and great grand-dads.
Beckham was 28 when he left EPL for La Liga, Zidane was 29, Predrag Mijatovic was 27, Figo was 28, Davor Suker was 28, Van Nistelrooy is 30, Tomas Gravesen was 29, Cannavaro is 33 and Emerson is 30.
Barcelona tried to sign Henry at 29, Barca bought Thuram at 34 and Gudjohnsen at 28.
The average age in any La Liga team is above 28 and u have got the nerves to condemn the Premiership.
C'mon mate, take a chill pill-------U have lost this argument. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Serie A, Premiership, La Liga Or Bundesliga? by Jackal(m): 2:35am On Aug 16, 2006
@ sage + dayokanu,
Where the world footballer of the year plays does not make a league superior than the other.
Afterall the south americans are the major factor why the spanish la liga look so entertaining.
U even made a syntax error by listing Youri Djorkaeff. The dude did play for Bolton FC in the Premiership. grin

Talking about players that have played in the EPL, my list goes like this----------------
George Weah, Jurgen Klinsmann, Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Patrick Vieira, Jaap Stam, Juan Veron, Patrick Kluivert, Dennis Bergkamp, Edgar Davids,
Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Robert Pires, Thierry Henry, Roy Keane, Peter Schmeichel, Hidetoshi Nakata, Davor Suker, Jay-Jay Okocha, Hernan Crespo, Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.
Looking at this list carefully, u will notice all the players mentioned above all made Pele's 125 greatest soccer stars in the world.
Is this a coincidence? Am i missing something here?

It makes me laugh when Nairaland cats come here to drag EPL in the mud by saying its too predictable.
No league has been more predictable than La Liga.
Check this out-------------------------------
In the last 22 seasons in La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona have 18 league titles between them. 9 La Liga titles apiece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I reckon other teams in Spain were just sleeping or these 2 teams are the only teams in the league. 18 titles in 22? Thats 90% shocked shocked shocked shocked

Moreover, if Italian teams can bribe their way over in the Serie A then i don't see any obstacle for 'em bribing their way in the UEFA Champions League.
Majority of the officials used in the UCL competitions are all referees from the top leagues in Europe- Italians are rogues so i cannot put the feat of bribery beyond them at any football competition.

All the players i mentioned are now cult heroes in the La Liga.
We all watched as Diego Forlan(Man Utd reject) clinched the pichichi trophy in 2004/05 season.
David Beckham(Anutha Man U reject) has been the most consistent player in the Real Madrid team since he's been there and i can go on and on.
Van Brockhorst(Arsenal reject) now commands a regular shirt @ Barca
I still maintain my stand that EPL is on top of other leagues OVERALL.
They got money, organisation, transparency, quality players, good TV coverage, and followership(largest fanbase)
Should i go on? tongue

La Liga lovers won't let us breathe with their nasty analysis.

@Dayokanu,
Owen Hargreaves my foot.
Where was he when Wayne Rooney and Lampard shone like a million stars in EURO 2004?
Please, England's failure at the last world cup has nothing to do with the league.
Eriksson was the architect of England's failure with wrong selections, bad substitutions and a chunk of ill-luck.

Why is Eidur Gudjohnsen(Chelsea-reject) being sought by Almighty Barcelona.
The same Barcelona nearly raided a bullion van to get the signatures of Thierry Henry.
David Beckham, Diego Forlan, Michael Owen, Van Nistelrooy, Gravesen and Jonathan Woodgate were all Premiership rejects but they are all cult heros in Spain right now.
To make matters worse, Ferguson's number 2(Carlos Queiroz) managed Real Madrid(La Liga) for a full season. grin
Can u tell me what else superiority means?

Go n drink to these facts and learn to respect the EPL.
We don't bribe in our league games unlike Serie A and the likes.

Whether it transforms to silverware or not is not the issue.
2 Premiership teams have played in the last 2 finals of the UCL so what other yardstick do u want me to use?
Arsenal sank Juventus(Serie A) Real Madrid(La Liga) and Villareal(La Liga) enroute to final with a make-shift young team and u r still ranting.
Liverpool disgraced Italian giants(AC Milan) in the most greatest come-back victory football has ever witnessed in any final match.
The Premiership reigns supreme over any league in every departments.
Finances, Organisation, Sponsorship, TV rights, Transparency(no bribery scandals).

3 Premiership teams got seeded out of 8 teams in Europe and some villains think the Premiership is wack?
Serie A with all the noise and bribery could not produce 3 quality teams in the continent.
Stop hating, The Premiership rocksssssssssssssssss.

If u don't like the Premiership, the premiership does not like u as well so the feeling is perfectly mutual.
European football without the Premiership will be in shambles.
Little wonder Manchester United is the richest football club in the world.
UEFA makes fortunes out of the Premiership so best believe it EPL reigns.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Serie A, Premiership, La Liga Or Bundesliga? by Jackal(m): 12:32pm On Aug 15, 2006
EPL is poor? Yea right.
It's a poor league and the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea have inflicted massive defeats on the Italian soil times without number.
I remembered Chelsea beating Lazio 4-0 some few seasons ago.
United always beat Juventus at Turin. Its almost a walk-over tie anytime the 2 teams meet.
Didn't Gunners bash Inter Milan 5-1 at San Siro in 2003/04 season?

Lets call a spade what it is.
EPL is too superior in terms of organisation and finances.
The Premiership is the most lucrative football league in the world with total club revenue standing at 1.3 billion pounds as at 2004/05 season.
This value is more than 40% above the nearest competitor(Serie A) and the 4th highest for any sports league worldwide.
Only NFL, MLB and NBA(All in USA) generate more revenue than the Premiership in any sporting contest in the world.

EPL is the greatest show on earth in terms of worldwide coverage.
Its the world's most popular and most watched sporting league followed worldwide by at least 1 billion people. It is being watched in over 190 countries.
In China, matches attract television audiences between 100 million and 400 million, more than any foreign sport in the country.
Out of the 8 seeded teams in UEFA Champions league, 3 Premiership teams were included.

If all these facts do not make the Premiership superior, i wonder what superiority means to you. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Serie A, Premiership, La Liga Or Bundesliga? by Jackal(m): 11:19am On Aug 15, 2006
It makes me laugh when people rant about Serie A and other leagues being superior to the Premiership.
What makes a league so superior? Is it the money pumped into it or the organisation or the level of corruption?
The EPL has the best organisation in any football league in the whole wide world.

As regards the Champions League, U cannot really blame Premiership teams because the football season in England is too tedious.
Germany and Holland play just 34 games in the league while England plays 38 games.
The Premiership is the only league in the world that does not observe the winter-break and to make it worse, most games get played during this period while other teams in other leagues in Europe are on vacation.
Things get a bit bumpy by the time UEFA resumes in February as injuries and fatigue would have rubbed on English teams thus resulting to poor results.

We all know about the match-fixing stuffs in Serie A and Bundesliga.
I won't be surprised if the same happens in Spain as well.
The point is i don't reckon with all these leagues because they are not transparent enough. Its either matches are being fixed or match officials are being bribed which is quite sad about other leagues.

The last 2 UCL finals has produced 2 English teams and i won't be surprised if anutha Premiership team makes it to the final next May.
Premiership is classy whether u like it or not. European football will be boring without the PREMIERSHIP.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd and Liverpool have all shown what the English teams can do at the big stage.
Hate it or Love it the PREMIERSHIP is on top.
Serie A reeks of bribery scandalz and corruption.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Serie A, Premiership, La Liga Or Bundesliga? by Jackal(m): 8:46pm On Aug 14, 2006
@Dayokanu,
England is over-rated and blah blah and La Liga is the best but how many times has Spain won the world cup? Nil.
The EPL is the best league in the world and u can't rant on for years and i won't be bothered about your comments.
The World Footballer of The Year yardstick is not a factor for judging which league reigns supreme.

Take out the Brazilians and the Argies from the Spanish League and all u have is a very dull Spanish League.
The South Americans prefer Spain to pursue their football career because of the similar culture, language and most especially the weather.
A Brazilian will prefer to play in Spain than England and that should not give La Liga an edge over the EPL.
EPL reeks of class and superiority.

Brazilian League is not known worldwide and Brazil has won many world cups than anyone else.
Spanish League is the best league to peops like dayokanu and Spain has not even neared the semis of any world cup.(England has won it)
Fact: The league and tha national team has no direct relationship.

There's no league in the world that is not predictable.
I can close ma eyes and tell u the 4 teams that will lock the top spot in any league in the world.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juve and Roma in Italy
Bayern Munich, Weder Bremen, Leverkusen and Dortmund in Germany
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia and Deportivo in Spain
Arsenal, Chelsea , Man Utd and Liverpool in England
Celtic, Rangers in Scotland
Porto, Benefica in Portugal.
Lokomotiv Moscow, CSKA Moscow in Russia

Can y'all guys now see when i said Rio Ferdinand is better than John Terry?
Without Makelele's protective shield Terry was over-exposed to incessant attacks by Liverpool thus making him look like a bum.
John Terry is the most ordinary defender in the Premiership but the British press has done so well in hyping him up.
Remove Makelele and Gallas from Chelsea's equation and the team will under-perform like Sunderland FC or West Brom.

I am not a Chelsea fan. I am a red devil but we should not be too quick to judge Chelsea based on that match.
A winner has to emerge and Chelsea did not deserve to win yesterday's match.
The Chelsea i saw yesterday had so many similar players playing different positions and they got confused so many times with what to do with the ball.

Chelsea will gel but it might take some time to get their winning formular and momentum back.
I supported Liverpool yesterday cos i wanted them to knock out some chunk of confidence outta Mourinho's loud mouth.
Lampard was disappointing and i think Mourinho shld have removed him cos he wasn't effective.
Politics › Re: What Do You Think Of Malam Nuhu Ribadu? by Jackal(m): 10:32am On Aug 14, 2006
I totally disagree with your comments.
Nuhu Ribadu's commission is built on personal vendetta against OBJ's many adversaries.
The commission is designed to fight all OBJ's political enemies.
EFCC will arrest me tomorrow if i happen to provide funds for Atiku's Party or Marwa's Party to challenge Obasanjo.
A kid of 5 knows this in Nigeria so i don't know what's so special about Nuhu Ribadu.

Ribadu's job is so simple a primary school class captain can do better.
Ribadu sits down in his office to read the dailies. He pencils down names of supposed millionaires who could be a threat to OBJ's third term project.
He calls OBJ to discuss and OBJ decides if he should go ahead with the arrest or not.
His arrests have been too selective and i am not buying it.
Tell me, whatz so mentally-tasking in that?

One man that has been able to fight corruption with nail and tooth is Tunde Idiagbon.
He fought till his death and his example should be followed by Ribadu and not his political gimmicks and spending tax payers money on personal vendettas.
Ribadu is not special and if 20% cleansing is effective to oshkosh then u need to do some soul searching.
What is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
20% is not just good enough for the calibre of EFCC.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Liverpool Again by Jackal(m): 11:53pm On Aug 13, 2006
Don't get it twisted.
Chelsea is a strong team but Jose has not found the winning formular and balance in the team.
Makelele, Peter Cech and Gallas were all missing and hence John Terry was exposed.
It will take Chelsea some 5-7 Premiership matches before the get into full stride but once they do-they will kick asses.

Chelsea is still a force to reckon with and its too early to judge the team based on this match.
I believe Jose made some errors in buying so many similar players.
Drogba n Shevchenko are similar. Mikel Obi, Ballack and Lampard are too similar and having 'em in the same team will cause more problems and it affects the game play.
This match will def'ly rock Chelsea's confidence when the Premiership starts but i still believe Chelski is the team to beat.
Politics › Re: What Do You Think Of Malam Nuhu Ribadu? by Jackal(m): 11:47pm On Aug 13, 2006

The Presidency empowers EFCC to arrest anyone with or without warrants and Nairaland thinks Ribadu is effective.

Every individual in Nigeria knows the who n who that steals public funds but we cannot arrest because we dont have such authority but Ribadu has got it so whats so special?
Any dummy in Ribadu's position will do exactly the same thing if not more cos ther are so many corrupt officials to pick from so its a matter of choice and juicy headlines.
I wld have done a better job in Ribadu's seat cos Nigeria is so corrupt to the extent that i can be making 100 arrests per day for 3 years.
Tell me any politician or Govt official that has not stolen some funds or the other while in power?

OBJ formed EFCC and this body was supposed to be recovering stolen funds and loot from supposed corrupt government officials but where are these funds?
Even a blind man knows OBJ has done more damage to Nigeria than many other ex-Presidents in the past.
U keep comparing OBJ's days to IBB's days but u keep forgetting the fact that IBB was a military ruler which explains why most foreign investors dont wanna get involved.
OBJ is a democratic President so u should expect more foreign investors/conglomerates to invest in Nigeria.
IBB as a democratic ruler will be more astute than a dumb-ass OBJ who does not know his left from his right.

Politics › Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by Jackal(m): 10:33am On Aug 13, 2006
@ revolution,
What stupid enabling environment are we talking about here?
Countries like Ghana, Gambia and even war-ragged Sierra Leone started the use of GSM phones before Nigeria.
Nigeria is the most populous black nation in the world and Telecom giants in Africa know there's money to be made from Nigerians which was why they came to feast on the ignorance of Nigerians.
Nigeria's customer base in DSTV(Digital TV) is the highest in the whole Africa. Lagos Customers alone surpasses all the countries in Southern Africa by astronomical miles.

OBJ deserves no credit in the Telecoms revolution. The revolution was brought about simply because of the modern days of technology.
Less-developed countries had started using these facilities so Nigeria can never be an exception.
Nigerians wld have benefited the same facility if Idi-Amin was our President so it has nothing to do with OBJ's intelligence.
How can u say OBJ handled the project in a credible and transparent way when these companies were made to pay through their noses for registration.
Consumers were subjected to untold hardships of high bills and low quality of services.

Why didn't OBJ do the same to NEPA?
Why has NEPA failed in its bid to improve its service and a country like Ghana is enjoying some 2-4 years of uninterrupted power supply?
What about employments for teeming population of university graduates?
More graduates are jobless these days compared to the days of IBB/Abacha and u r giving dud credits to OBJ.
OBJ should be tied to a stake buck-naked and horse-whipped.

So u think Tafa Balogun is not smart enuff hence he was caught?
Be deceiving urself. ; tongue tongue tongue tongue
All we are saying is EFCC plays a double-standard.
Any member of the OBJ's camp will not and can never suffer any arrest from the EFCC.
So how can u justify such a biased body as being a reputable organisation.
EFCC is a heap of corruption itself and Ribadu is just a robot being controlled by the FAT PIG of Aso Rock.

@ krazysage,
The idiots blowing themselves are doing this thinking they are fighting the GREATEST JIHAD.
They forget the greatest JIHAD is the conscience-the ability to do good or evil.
They have been misguided by some clerics driven by lunacy and sheer hatred of the west.

I kinda understand where u r coming from but i still stand on ma feet that Mass Murder cannot justify any stupid cause.
The characteristics of a terrorist is obvious but the Human Acts right in the West dont allow these people to ruthlessly deal with these Arabs.
Imagine some group of immigrants living in Nigeria trying to blow up people in Nigeria.
Are u saying Nigerians wont fish all of em out and stone em to death?
The people that brought about the idea of Human Rights Act will be kicking 'emselves now cos people especially terrorists are taking full advantage of it.

A certain Islamic cleric in UK, Abu Hamza incites racial hatred and teach young muslims to perpetrate mass murders on non-muslims in the UK.
It was reported he lost his hands and one of his eye when he was clearing mines in Afghanistan and he uses a distinctive hook on his right arm.
He was arrested for various offences and at a time he wanted the British Govt(The country he hated so much) to use tax-payers money to replace his hook.
How sick is that? I am yet to see other religious leaders in the world preaching violence and hatred publicly in the name of JIHAD.
S'thing has to be done.

@ krazysage,
U will have to convince me more than u have done that u are not a terrorist urself.
Some people are potential terrorists without knowing it.
U have the potentials but it has not been tapped yet.
It will take Osama Bin Laden just few minutes to convert someone like u to join the bomb crew.
I dont care what cause these losers are fighting. Its absolute bollocks.
U cannot justify any cause by killing thousands of people to put ur views across.
Its a SIN and i hope they rot in hell for their deeds.
Would u have sounded like this if u had lost one of ur siblings on the London bus that got blown?
Pinch urself before u pinch others.

@Odeku,
No one is disputing the facts that Ribadu is not making these numerous arrests.
The question is why are these arrests limited to OBJ's political enemies ONLY?
How has all these arrests and the establishment of EFCC put food on the table of the suffering masses?

Can u sincerely tell us here that there are no corrupt individuals in OBJ's camp?
Why is EFCC not bringing these people into book just like they caged Tafa Balogun and the other peops u have mentioned.
I dont expect u to understand the gimmick but soon u'll understand.

@revolution,

I set a booby-trap for u and u fell for it.
ROTFLMAO grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Nairaland is killin me like krazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy.

Are u learned at all?   So U believe the introduction of GSM is a credit one should give Obasanjo?
Maybe i am wrong,  Maybe OBJ owns MTN +V-mobile and Globacom and these companies were built on OBJ's sweats.
OBJ  must have given the poor masses free mobile fones and SIM cards so we should all applaud his efforts.
Whata schmuk? U should have added internet to OBJ's credits also. Afterall, it was during his time jobs were created in Cybercafes.
I am sorry to say but i think your level of exposure is your greatest undoing.

Its like saying the introduction of Digital Television(DSTV) is a credit we should give IBB/Abacha. grin grin grin
My friend, can u tell me one African country that does not use mobile phones in this modern era.
Ghana has been enjoying mobile phones before we started in Nigeria. I am yet to see any Ghananian praising their president for such an insignificant feat.
Whats the big deal about mobile phones that we should start giving credits to OBJ? I am having a laugh.
I think we should give credits to Shagari as well because it was during his time people started buying Video recorders. grin

The point is this is the technological era.
The dumbest man in the whole wide world would have enjoyed the same credits u are giving OBJ if he was in power when GSM was introduced.
Whatz OBJ's effort in the GSM business? Because he was lucky to be in power when GSM was launched?
The intro of GSM is a global phenomenom and it is only in Nigeria people give credits to the FG for using mobile phones.
In your own views, OBJ is the key to Nigerians using mobile phones, Ohhh ma days.
Wonders shall never end.  cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

@ Otokx and Krazysage.

I know all muslims are NOT terrorists but all terrorists are muslims.
How do u justify mass murder to put one's political goals across to the west.
At the end of the day, everyone will be called to the table to dialogue.
Why not seek this dialogue in the 1st place instead of blowing innocent citizens up?
The whole west is under seige because of some mis-guided brothers who think blowing people up is Godly.
Have u seen the internet live feed of how some lunatics beheaded Ken Bigley's head in Iraq?
Its shameful some people can come on Nairaland to celebrate terrorism on public forums.
Arabs didn't start suicide bombing but they are the ones left still doing it.
Kids are being brain-washed/persuaded to blow 'emselves up and u call that a holy war?
The greatest racists are these arabs/muslims.
Do u know what they call westerners? They call 'em infidels.
So tell me, who are the racists?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: What's Dis Premiership Nonsense? by Jackal(m): 7:46pm On Aug 12, 2006
@hustler,
Thats not a good criteria to judge a league.
We all know the South Americans prefer la liga to the Premiership because they share the same culture with Spain.
Why is it that any player that plays for Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea MUST play for his national team?
If Gilberto Silva doesnt play for Arsenal, wld he represent Brazil? Will Luis Garcia play for Spain if he does not ply his trade in Liverpool?

Lets call a spade a spade. The Premiership reeks of class and superiority.
Without the South Americans and Zidane, which Spaniard won the World Footballer of the year in recent times?
