Kobojunkie: Stop asking stupid questions abeg! The subject , which you brought up, is of the supernatural-- non physical, immeasurable space which is still on a subjective level on the most part.
gisevak: My position on the supernatural is not tied to any religious notion. My position about supernatural is that there are forces or things that humans or scientists cannot explain or prove. You only see religious definition of supernatural but there is more to it. Check the following questions:
How did life begin? It is clear in anthropology that this is a universal question that every culture and religion has attempted to answer. Scientists show that life began as simple chemicals that came together and became the first molecules to replicate. However, scientists still debate how these early chemicals were arranged, how DNA was created, and so on.Scientists also debate the circumstances surrounding the creation of these first chemicals. Some believe they formed in hot pools, while others believe they began with a meteor collision with water. This is still a beyond explanation.
What is the universe made of? Astronomers still cannot answer 95% of the universe. It has been discovered that the atoms that make up the world around us appear to make up only 5% of the composition of the universe. In recent years, astronomers have speculated that much of the remaining 95% could be some kind of dark matter or energy, but the question remains unanswered. What is this dark matter?
We do not currently have the equipment, skills or information to explore them. It's still supernatural.
So to you, anything unknown automatically becomes supernatural?
People burn it on the regular. Where I live they don't have it. And I rarely see any in my village cos people have burned most of them. But I just can't see a shrine and burn it. Remember its someone's personal property. Respect it. Same way you expect the person to respect your property. I hear people tell me to go slap an old priest in my village, and I'm like, "Are you retarded? How can you walk up to an old man and slap him? If his children beat you to a pulp, then you deserve it" Nigerians really have no brains
incredible2017: Have you seen someone that was perfectly ok before turn mad
Lol. Happens regularly. Many things can cause that from somatic diseases to psychoses. Even drugs can cause that. I hope you know the typhoid you Nigerians like treating can cause psychosis. You see what we are talking about. You see a perfectly 'normal' person turn mad. You don't know how it happened . Therefore its demonic, thus spiritual. Lets all cast it out. Thousands of years ago, your ancestor saw rain fall from the sky. He doesn't know how it happened. Therefore its spiritual and a god must be behind it. Lets all bow and worship it. Seem familiar?
Knowledge23: in the world? There are about 3700 religions and Gods out there being worshipped but yours happen to be the correct one, how lucky of you. Do you know how many denominations the Christian faith has? I bet you don’t, it about 40,000 denominations (go Google it). So being born a Christian isn’t enough you still have to push your luck further and make sure you’re born into the right denomination or you risk hell fire (more fiction). I hope you’re in the right sect otherwise this would have been for nothing.
It’s all superstition to believe a man was made of mud, the whole world was created from nothing but the incoming woman had to be cloned from a rib bone and a talking snake (seriously?) deceived this woman to eat some fruit which made us all sinners … the story is out rightly comical, might as well have been written by a circus clown, that’s how funny it is if you had grown to the age of 19 and this story was presented to you for the first time. But since it was told to you since infancy you take it as true. If you step outside your dogma you might even notice how silly it is even right now.
If I told you that a donkey spoke to me you would instantly conclude that I’m crazy or you’ll ask to see the donkey yourself for evidence, hence you dismissed me on some rational grounds. But the minute you read it from the bible, rationality goes straight out the window and you believe in talking snakes and donkeys. So you believe in an ancient book written by ancient goat herders without evidence rather than your own critical reasoning.
It’s also superstition when washing of sins needs a human sacrifice (I’m talking of human ritual), nailing someone to a cross to remove sins is actually human ritual, which is what your God practices. Also it’s stupid to feel that one act can affect the other, how can the death of someone on a cross affect the cleansing of sin? What’s the correlation? This requires ignorant gullible people to believe, as a rational mind cant process the depth of foolishness involved to accept this as fact.
You called me gullible. Biggest laugh I’ve had in a long while. How is it that I’m the gullible one? You’re the one who believes ridiculous things like a girl supposedly a virgin magically delivers a baby boy by way surrogacy, this baby happens to be the son of God, this son also happens to be God himself also (talking about trinity, do you know the whole trinity thing and resurrection was only recently added to the bible by some monks less than a thousand years ago, it wasn’t there before). He died to wash away sin yet people still sin till this very day, how pathetic. How else do you define gullibility other than a bunch of people giving their money to a self-acclaimed minister of God for him to read from a book you all have a copy of once a week.
Nigeria loses over 20 percent of its internally and externally generated revenue to pastors who fleece more than 40 percent of the population with tax-free returns. Imagine billions of naira being lost all around the nation every Sunday, if these monies were diversified elsewhere we would be in the same league with irreligious countries like Japan, Sweden, Denmark etc. all their monies circulates within the economy and they just keep prospering. Our economy is being raped in the guise of religion.
Religion is make-believe.
Science is evidence-based.
Why don’t we see pastors in hospitals healing people in droves and emptying clinics off their patients? We see only doctors there using equipment and apparatuses provided by science because prayers won’t heal (forget the show you see on TV) you need drugs provided by science despite having faith as huge as a mountain in your choice deity. Since you like make-believe so much then just remain encased in your cocoon called religion and dream on. Zero advantage to be derived from it in the real world.
I don’t blame people like you and how you view the world because science is hard so why not believe the most simplistic tailor-made answer; Genesis 1:1 God create the heavens and the earth. Period. Ponder no more. Now, you don’t need to bother about finding out about “Abiogenesis” which is a tougher story to digest, no need to read heaps of science books, rather stick to that book written to keep you deluded for life.
God didn’t create man.
Man created God.
Man created god to explain away all the difficult questions.
Imagine 5000 years ago, a prehistoric man sees lightning zipping across the sky and even this lightning to his bewilderment strikes trees and causes fire. He had no explanation for this, so he begins to revere lightning, next he begins to worship trees struck by lightning, he worships rivers, rocks, sculptures and calls it God. Now, he passes this practice his sons and daughters, who also passes it on to their sons and daughters and now it has been passed to you through the ages (it has gone through many, reformations, reinterpretations, customizations, diversification etc.) and now you are going to pass it on to your sons and daughters too, they’re also going to pass it on too and it goes on like that. It’s the oldest running scam in history ever since medieval politicians understood the massive gains and benefit they could acquire from people’s gullibility (Read about: “East meets West” Greeks and Roman politicians partner up to form the biggest religion, Christianity)
Also, whenever you catch yourself quoting the bible like you did earlier, just know it’s all “circular reasoning”, the worse of its kind.
How do you know the bible is true? Because it’s the word of God. How do you know it’s the word of God? Because it’s written in the bible. How do you know the bible is true? Because it’s the word of God. How do you know it’s the word of God? Because it’s written in the bible.
Circular reasoning because each need the other to prove the other and can’t be proven independently. Both of which, God and the bible has no irrefutable evidence to back its claim of existence and infallibility respectively. Since God has been camera shy for the last 2000 years and only resides in peoples heart it would be pretty tough to prove if he exists.
And as for the slavery thing you spoke about, you don’t want to get me started on that slavery write-up you made which was riddled with erroneous assumptions, it would only open up a different can of worms unfavorable to your argument.
gisevak: Don't you think we lack of appropriate information to reject supernatural does not exits?
Consciousness is supernatural and metaphysical by virtue of it existing outside the natural and physical world. does science has scientific proof for conciousness? Can you prove that conciousness is natural?
What do you mean by 'consciousness'? I have my own definition based on my profession and it may be different from your own definition. So define 'consciousness'
gisevak: Is this your scientific proof or explanation on why we dream? Do you know that supernatural is a concept that is attributed to some forces that is beyond scientific proofs or laws?
Are you aware rain, thunder, flood, sickle cell disease, Infertility etc were at one point attributed to supernatural causes?
gisevak: We are talking about supernatural. The question is why do we dream?
You dream because your brain says so. When you sleep some part of your brain like RAS(Reticular Activating System) switches off and some other parts take over
Knowledge23: Dream is series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep. So I don't know how that relates to supernatural Powers
Dreams are culminations of our thoughts. The guy is swimming in ignorance
gisevak: I am not a christian. I am an agnostic. Your concept is dogmatic!!! You are not talking to a christian!!! Stop deceiving and misleading people in this platform. Answer the questions I put up there Mr Know All.
Lol. Explains a lot. Wilgrea7, triplechoice, workch, A001 etc cuman carry una boy Make una give am crash course in gravity
gisevak: There over billions of things to find out? well, if you don't know, check these out.
Have you found out if life on earth is accidental or not?
Gravity is both incredibly weak and incredibly strong as per scientists, holding the entire universe together, whilst also being 10^36 times weaker than the force that brings two magnets together. Explain how is able to attract every things to the earth while magnets cannot?
I dont know whether life was accidental or not. I suggest you read up about gravity
gisevak: If pastors or herbalist could not cure instantly then a conclusion there is no supernatural? This is a shallow mindset. Check the following and give me a scientific proof about the following? Dream?
Sleep?
Gravity?
The First human on earth
Scientific proof of dreams? Dreams can be observed, and in fact, dreams can be 'induced' in humans. Even animals dream too and their dreams have been analyzed too. Dream is dredged from our 'memory banks' and processed by many brain centers from hypothalamus, hypocampus, prefrontal cortex etc. Even limbic system is involved(this happens when we dream and cry)
Sleep? Sleep is easily understood by science than dreams. Sleep is easily studied and graded into Non REM and REM sleep. They sre determined by the waves our cortex emit during sleep.
Gravity? This is a natural phenomenon. Can be explained since we are pulled to the center of the earth. This is my basic physics knowledge. Can't explain further. I'm sure there are materials online for it.
First human? We evolved from lower form animals. And we came from the oceans. We definitely didn't pop out from nowhere
gisevak: The video was captured through his tiktok handle. Observation is a key to knowledge. Make more findings for yourself and stop relying on only what you have been told. Atheists are dogmatic just as organized religion. There are things beyond the physical that we can as well explore just as physics.
Lol. I have tried to observe myself and found nothing. That's why I still remain atheistic. I can give you the specifics of my observations but you may not believe me and I won't blame you.
gisevak: A supernatural events happened to him. This happened when he confronted an herbalist and he was trying to destroy the man shrine. My brother, there are a lot of things beyond physics. You are diving into world of atheism from your topic. I was once an atheist but changed my view as some of their points is not logical and reasonable. It's better to be agnostic than being dogmatic.
And you believed his story without any shred of evidence?
MaxInDHouse: In the year 1997 my own uncle (Muslim) got up and went into the shine of the gods inside our village, he destroyed all the woody images and the big one he couldn't destroy he carried it and threw it into the bush. The next day my uncle became blind and that's how he lived for the rest of his life!
What pained me mostly is how he turned the discussion i had with him into something that actually led to the loss of his sight.
I traveled to our village and on getting there i asked for my parents and my uncle told me they've gone to church for the harvest festival. In our village all religionists does everything in common, during Christmas, Easter and New Year both Muslims and Traditionalists will join the churchgoers to celebrate and when it's the turn of the others the same goes but my uncle (Imam) kicks against such interfaith. So my visit that day led to a discussion when he told me everyone has gone to the church and he's the only person left in the whole village. Thinking i will go and join them he asked: "Won't you also go?" I responded: "They are not worshiping my own God" That response sounds really strange to my uncle and that's how i bore a thorough witness to him that day, he felt so happy that he said:
"Now you and i can team up to rescue our people from the hands of this fetish things they are doing"
I told him things doesn't work that way, if he truly wants to worship the true God he need not foce his own opinion on others each person will decide after hearing the GOOD NEWS. He said he really wish everyone is here to listen to what i'm saying because they will all repent but i told him it's not that easy and if he himself is ready can he abandon Islam for JWs? He said that will be too much for him to bare because everyone has known him as a jihadist (not violent but always kicking against idolatry) so how can he now say he doesn't know what he's doing anymore? I looked into his eyes and tears ran through my cheeks then i asked him: "If you whose parents joined this religion all of a sudden refused to change for the truth you heard now how do you expect those whose ancestors has been in this practice for centuries to change easily?" My uncle couldn't respond anymore! That's what actually prompted him to go into the village shrine and cause a disruption that led to his blindness!
Lets say I believe your story. Has your uncle gone to the hospital for treatment? Is he hypertensive, diabetic etc?
MaxInDHouse: Can you bring Vladimir Putin to Nairaland as evidence that Russian president exists?
Ọmọ magical powers are not the properties of those using it they borrow it from the spirit world so it's the spirits themselves that choose to reveal themselves to whoever they want not the other way around.
So instead of asking a borrower to display the wealth that doesn't belong to him why not go to domain of the owners themselves?
Find a local shrine then enter and disrupt the place, i wish you live to tell the story!
This is the daftest of the daftest posts from the daftest MadMax. We see Putin everyday. We hear him everyday. We watch him move. We see his actions(the Russian Ukraine war). Hell, we know his children. What other evidence do you need he exists?
MaxInDHouse: How old are you? How many places have you been? If you're seeking magical powers it's not given to everyone because those in charge has their own mission and if you're not part of their target they will not even come close to you so you can't see anything to hold onto as evidence of their existence. So free your mind and go find something clean to do for survival because spiritism doesn't work for the innocent but heartless humans whoever goes into it has no means of a return back to normal life. A word is enough for the wise!
Maynman: this is foolishness, have you also gone to the bermuda triangle to experience this "supernatural"? Who are the people that termed it "supernatural"? On what basis is it "supernatural"?
Get some education, there are other places that does exactly what bermuda triangle does and it has an explanation.
Junkie, not only needs education but rehab. Dude's brain is fried
MindHacker9009: I agree that some of the videos were staged but how about the cctv videos, if they were staged too then they have done a very cleaver job.
Obviously you have a lot to learn in videoshopping
Kobojunkie: The supernatural as the name implies is not of physical measurable space but of experience which tends to be a lot more subjective than most are willing to accept . So it is utterly ludicrous to claim that since A and B said it is not real, it then must not be real. It is better to shut up about these things than to insist your conclusion is the right one.
What if I tell you that I'm standing in your room with you, would you believe me, Junkie?
Kobojunkie: Wait a minute. You didn't in fact go and experience the triangle for yourself? You came to regurgitate tales told you by some one else of his experience or what are you doing here? Could you folks stop littering pages with bullsheet every now and then abeg! Oyinbo go carry himself enter Bermuda triangle in order to experience it for himself before drawing a conclusion. This, yet another lazy-minded bugger is here to tell us tales based on inexperience. Just wasted valuable minutes from my evening.
Imagine the line of reasoning: Because A and B said it is not true, therefore it is not true.
Have you experienced Bermuda Triangle before? Yes or no?
