Complexity exists. The concept of a thing being "alive" in itself is already complex, talk less of the said thing being involved in some sort of order.

i felt like a power came over me and i started praying, i could not sleep till 6am this morning.

4. You also have no idea how medical referral system works. Any doctor or physician can manage any case(and I mean any case). You only refer to specialists or consultants where you feel you have exhausted your knowledge. That's why we spent 6 years or more in the first medical degree called MBBS(in this part of the world) which means Bachelor or Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. My school call it MBBCh. So yes, I can see psychiatric cases that present to me before referral. In highly advanced medical countries like the US etc, psychiatric cases quickly present to psychiatrists as a first call. This is unlike poorly resourced countries like ours.
And yes, I can develop interest in psychiatry without being a psychiatrist. It simply means I have more knowledge of psychiatric cases. And no, I'm not a psychiatrist, and I have never called myself one, either here or anywhere. If you can detect the cause, then you proceed to treat, if not, wait until you know before doing anything. You don't just start administering drugs anyhow which they may not even need.

1. So if a patient presented to you complaints of audiovisual hallucinations or delusions of persecutions, say he tells you the statue in his sitting room is telling him to kill his mother, that she is responsible for his failure, you(as a physician) would oblige him and take the statue and examine it for speech abilities since , right? Don't worry you can always take up your case to the psychiatrist journals and hear what they say. Lol
I hope you know those hallucinations may be due to drugs(pharmacologic) or psychosis(pathologic). What do you think is the cause of mass murders in the US and other countries?
2. True, insomnia can cause hallucinations in extreme cases. And yes, religion can influence what people hallucinate about. It contributes to the prefrontal cortex 'images'. Lemme give you an example. A typical African hallucinations involves religious contents like messages etc. Unlike a typical American hallucinatory content.
And no, we don't always give insomniacs antipsychotics.
3. So if I narrate my clinical experience, it translates to mocking my patients? Even if the patient reads a case similar to his or hers, they won't know it's me. My name isn't anywhere on this post, neither is my picture etc here.
Obviously you haven't interfaced with any psychiatrist or even physician because if you do you'll know we relate our experiences. You have no idea how the doctor-patient confidentiality works. I can talk about any case to anyone. Only caveat is I don't talk about the name or any particulars or identities of the patient. Doctors have social media handles where we talk to the world about any case we experience. But not the name. Your little brain didn’t know that.
Everyday you see people talk all sorts about doctors and hospitals on social media. Mostly lies. But we can't counter them on such lies, even if its defamation because doing so(explaining to the populace what went down etc) is breaking the doctor-patient confidentiality and MDCN can have your licence for it. That same patient can turn around and sue you(the doc or hospital) for leaking details to the public (even though you're defending yourself)

You know, as a physician, I get many patients telling me they hear from gods, and that they see and walk with them always. We usually slap labels of schizophrenia, delirium tremens etc on them and put such patients on antipsychotics and sometimes for extreme therapies.
Oddly enough, that's exactly what many pastors and Christians claim: see God, talk and walk with him etc. But the same physicians and psychiatrists that prescribed antipsychotics, would bow before such pastors and envy them.
Maybe I shouldn't be hasty in smacking those antipsychotics on those patients. I should just research and find out if they are actually seeing and hearing things. Maybe medicine and science has been wrong all this while.
