Buhari cares more about cattle than he cares about Nigerian citizens. You know why? Let me tell you why. If this were some Ruga cattle that was being burned and killed, President Boo Boo would have taken immediate action. All this reaction is nonsense. We need some real action. These Black South Africans are acting worse than bush animals. To even think that Nigeria spent billions fighting against Apartheid and defending these useless beasts and now, this is how they thank us. This is not what Nelson Mandela fought for. Mandela is turning in his grave right now. What a crying shame! Their politicians are robbing them and they are blaming Nigerians and Zimbabweans. They are looking for scapegoats to kill. They should go back to slavery by the White South Africans. SOUTH AFRICAN FOOLS. They should forever be ashamed. South Africa will never escape this ugly black eye. A bunch of lazy, ignorant, bone-headed drug addicts, stealing robbing, killing and looking for a free ride. |
omolayee:VIRUS ALERT! https://sooosbloamchahha..com/2019/08/sllloasaasajajkin.html This is MALWARE. Why are you posting a Malware virus here when this thread is about a Nigerian soldier who was killed? Can you show a little respect or some class to the dead man and his family? You can start your own totally separate thread with your junk. Show some respect, man. Thank you. |
Any robber who attacks a Police barracks is a baaad ass and he definitely deserves a daredevil award. This is when people dey say that "water don pass gari o," abi no be so? This one e get as e be. |
For those of you who keep asking; "Why is she the ONLY one wearing black?," please go put your glasses on and you will see 2 pictures. Unless you are blind, you can see that there are two pictures and in the second one, there are 2 women wearing black. But who cares what she is wearing? It shouldn't matter to you, should it? At least, she is NOT butt naked, so what's the problem? Where do you get the notion that Black is worn ONLY by those who are in mourning? A lot of people like black and wear black. It's no big deal. |
THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH It is always refreshing to hear the truth about the war and the coup from people who were not only close to the truth but those who had actually lived the truth! Phillip Effiong was in my book, a true soldier and a brave man. He stood their to complete the surrender and officially end the war while other people took flight and ran away. He was also a very quiet and humble man. He did not show off or make a lot of noise unlike some others, even years after the war had ended, he remained relatively quiet. Effiong was a true hero. Ironsi trusted the wrong people and listened to the wrong people and that was what cost him his life. Adekunle Fajuyi was also a brave man and a true soldier. He chose to follow Ironsi (who was his guest and visitor to wherever his captors took him) instead of just staying back under house arrest in the Governor's House in Ibadan. And he (Fajuyi) paid for it with his dear life when Danjuma and his fellow coup plotters (Northern and Middle Belt officers) summarily executed both of them on the outskirts of a dirt road in Ibadan. |
Danjuma is a rotten liar and an opportunist. This is the same guy who got a Nigerian oil bloc worth millions of dollars for free. Danjuma should be locked up in jail. This is what happens when people are trying to rewrite history. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. YOU CANNOT FOOL THOSE OF US WHO KNOW NIGERIAN HISTORY. First of all, the so-called Igbo coup was NOT an Igbo coup. There were several non-Igbo Army officers involved, therefore, to call it an Igbo coup is not only factually incorrect, it is disingenuous. There were Yoruba and Middle Belt and Rivers and Cross Rivers officers included also. Some of the officers executed their orders but some of them did not. Even though the country was in political chaos at the time, I was against the coup because I thought that Nigeria was in its infancy and was a very young democracy (in its infant stage and just learning how to crawl politically at that time) and still trying to find itself politically. At that time, most officers (educated military brass) in the Nigerian Army at the time, were from the South. The Northerners were behind educationally and were mainly lower-ranked, and they were very jealous of the superior Igbo and Southern officers. There was an inferiority complex exhibited by the Northern officers. The very few educated officers from the North were of Middle Belt extraction. After the war, everything changed completely and there was a mass promotion of Northern soldiers into many officer ranks and positions so as to replace Igbo officers and Western and Southern officers. Danjuma is a killer, a murderer and a traitor. Ironsi made a stupid mistake by trusting young officers from the North and the Middle Belt like Danjuma and Gowon and he paid for it with his life. Adekunle Fajuyi was a brave man because he said he will follow wherever they took Ironsi and that is why he was murdered by Danjuma's gang. If Fajuyi had wanted, he could have stayed behind. Danjuma is lying by saying that he was not part of the execution or killing of Ironsi and Fajuyi. Danjuma has blood on his hands. He cannot rewrite Nigerian history. He is a murderer, a traitor and a killer. Ironsi tried to call Gowon on the phone many times from the State House - Governor Fajuyi's residence in Ibadan before he was kidnapped and Gowon refused to answer the phone. Gowon knew what was going on and he was a "silent" member of the coup plot. He (Gowon) knew that he would be rewarded with power as the Head of State so he betrayed Ironsi. Ironsi's wife (Madam Victoria) used to cook for and feed all of these officers and she treated them like they were her sons but they murdered her husband like an animal. Danjuma is lying. He cannot change or rewrite history. Be a man Danjuma. Own up to what you did. Don't lie about it. |
It is correct that Olukunmi is a well-recognized and spoken dialect in some communities in the Anioma area of Delta State. And it is true that the language of Olukunmi is laden with Yoruba. However, you have left out some essential facts, i.e. some towns and communities on your list. This is why I tell people that it is never a good idea to depend solely on everything that you see on Wikipedia or to just simply copy and paste whatever you see on the internet and consider it as the absolute fact. You have to do a little more fact-finding or your own independent research. Apart from the Ezechime, there is also the Odiani Clan which you clearly did NOT mention. The town of Ugbodu belongs to the latter, as well as other towns that you did not mention, such as Ukwu-nzu, where the Olukunmi dialect is spoken regularly. The town of Ugboba is also in the Odiani clan although a dialect of Igbo and NOT Olukunmi is primarily spoken in Ugboba. The area referred to as Anioma in Delta State is a confluence, a conglomerate and a convergence of various Nigerian cultures and languages. No one group in any part of Nigeria can make a singular or absolute claim to the Anioma area. Regardless of the dialects spoken, Anioma people have a fusion or blend of many cultures and traditions in common. Elemosho478: |
He is an American. The article says he is a member of the US National Guard. He is wearing a US Army uniform in the photo. So why are you people calling him a Nigerian as if he just arrived to the US yesterday? You Nigerians on NairaLand are funny. The man has lived here for years. He even wrote a book about murder in the US. Yes, he might have been "born" in Nigeria, but he is an American and a product of the United States. Don't blame everything on Nigeria. You guys should at least, let him go to trial first and get convicted before you go ahead and start convicting him on NairaLand. There is a "process of justice" in the United States, even if you saw the guy commit the crime with your own two korokoro eyes. He still has to go on trial first. Americans don't do "jungle justice" because an "alleged" criminal is "presumed" innocent until he or she is proven guilty, even if you witnessed him commit crime. So pump your brakes. |
Nigerians do NOT want change. Change comes only to those who are hungry for it. Nigerians are NOT hungry - yet. NIGERIANS ARE HUNGRY FOR FOOD BUT THEY ARE NOT HUNGRY FOR CHANGE. Europeans fight for change. But Nigerians sit in Church and the Mosque all day and all week, praying and begging God to come down and fix everything for them. Nigeria is not practising real democracy. It is called Money-Crazy. Ayo Opadokun is correct that the current Nigerian Revenue Appropriapation Formula is corrupt, unfair and wrong. You cannot take 85% of the wealth produced by one state and dash it to the Federal Government and other parts of the country. Each state has to be allowed to keep at least 65% of the wealth that it produces, with only 20% going to the Federal and the other 15% going to the country's common pool and then redistributed. For example, why should you take 87% of money from Delta State or Rivers State and give to Zamfara and Jigawa? Whaty is the logic or rationale behind that useless formula? And how did we ever go from the FOUR original Regions comprising the Western Region, Northern Region, Eastern Region and Mid-Western Region and turn it into now 36 States, with a totsl 19 States in the core North alone? And how did one whole region out of four (the old Mid-West Region) was turned into only one state (Bendel State) first by Yakubu Gowon (only one out of 12 States), and then was turned into ONLY two States (out of an entire 36 states) in the whole country? These are some of the questions that Nigerians need to ask and these questions need to be answered and addressed in order to move forward. The current 36-State composition is fake and BS and the Revenue Formula is also some BS. It was totally fabricated and installed by the Nigerian military. They need to be dumped and restructured immediately. Why should Nasarawa State worry about generating its own money if it can always get "free awoof" revenue allocation money from other states such as Rivers and Delta States? Yes, go back to TRUE Federalism. |
I found the full interview video of the panel of three persons; Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun, Mr. Ayo Opadokun and Retired Gen. Alabi Isama. It is long and detailed but very very interesting. All Nigerians should listen and learn. ENJOY IT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VD0Wk4BOIws I think they should have included as part of this panel, persons from the East and the North also, so we can have a more rounded perspective from every corner. The sad truth is that Nigeria was much better 50 something years ago than it is today. Even with all the political hiccups and headaches, the Nigeria of old had more hope for a robust future back then. Nigeria of today is like a ship lost at sea, just floating around in the middle of the ocean, with a dead engine, a sick crew and no Captain. The Nigerian military destroyed Nigeria and Nigerians continue to allow the military cabal to destroy it. As long as the West does NOT trust the East and the East cannot work with the West, both of them will be inconsequential in Nigeria. The problem with Nigeria is that it has refused to learn anything from its past history. It has continued to push everything under the rug. Nigeria is NOT honest with itself. A majority of Nigerians of today are totally ignorant of their own history. They know more about social media than they know of their own country's true history and politics. I blame the young Nigerians of today. As long as young Nigerians can get a small piece of the pie or a little crumb, they are satisfied and everything is okay with them. A nation that keeps hiding from its own truth can never survive. And a nation of ignorant people is doomed to perish. NIGERIANS ARE HUNGRY FOR FOOD BUT THEY ARE NOT HUNGRY FOR CHANGE. Change will never come to those who are NOT hungry for it. |
You are right. That's what I thought too. Exactly the same name but two totally different people. I don't know who this young man is. The female former player is currently part of the newscast for the Women's World Cup, which is currently taking place in France. That is why I was shocked and wondered why and how it could be possible for her to be murdered in London if she is in France at the moment. I am sure the police will sort this crime out and get to the bottom of things. Urban crime. Urban setting. Urban motives. Cameras everywhere! On a different note, the Nigerian women's squad (Falcons) will be playing against the host country (France) women's team today. It will be a tough test but lets cheer for the Super Falcons. With either a win or a draw, I believe they can move on into the Round 2. pek: |
johnkay1:And this shows exactly why Nigerians don't have the time to read. How can you have time to read when Gov. Fayose is busy taking a real close peek at this lady hawker's perfectly-rounded ripe pears. I can't blame him though. You have to admit that is some good work of nature. And this woman looks all natural. No implants. No fakes. No bleaching. No make-up. All natural black beauty. Ain't gonna lie, those are some very nice-looking pair of milk-shakers. She should model them for a magazine instead of selling pears at the roadside. She can make some money and I can be her manager. |
ONLY IN NIGERIA The only country that I know where incompetent, brainless and visionless nincompoops regularly masquerade themselves as politicians. They start first by "buying" their ways into public offices, and then they turn around and commit these deplorable and despicable acts such as either outright just robbing and stealing the people's money or just wasting millions of state funds on useless and crooked "elephant" projects (that do NOT benefit the people of the state in any way whatsoever), e.g. building useless statutes or just "gifting" free houses to "already-very-wealthy" friends, ex-governors and politicians - people who clearly do NOT even need the damn houses. What about the millions of the people who are suffering in that state, with no health care, no clean running water, no food, no house, bad roads, no job, no transportation, no pay and no future? How do these clueless, brainless, idiotic oafs and pretenders such as Okorocha, who call themselves "leaders of the people" get away with commiting such rubbish acts brazenly, right there in front of the general public? ONLY IN NIGERIA do you get away with such acts so brazenly! And that is why the country cannot progress. As long as a country permits idiots as its leaders, it will never advance. It will always go backwards. Nigerians, you have said enough prayers. You need to wake up and start taking action each time you see rubbish acts and wasteful spending of your money such as this one. It should be an insult to all Nigerians. God will NOT come down from heaven and fix things for you. |
MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTION: Who paid for this type of very expensive FLYING HELICOPTER Security Escort Service? Please choose your answer(s) very carefully POSSIBLE ANSWER(S) BELOW: 1) The Nigerian Senators traveling on board the train paid for the service. 2) The Nigerian Air Force paid for it. 3) The Nigerian Railway Corporation paid for it. 4) Some Nigerian millionaire pastors who decided to get together and perform an intercession and paid for it. 5) Oga "Bu Bu" Buhari and his sidekick, "Oga Teacher" Osinbajo paid for it. 6) All Nigerians paid for it. What is your best answer? Pick one. |
Very smart marriage. Looks like she gave him whatever he wanted while he was alive. Now the young baby can get to enjoy his money for another forty years of her life! She can now get her some young lovers or boyfriends. Or maybe she don get some young side-guy already. Good for her. Make you see guys come dey hussle this woman now. Oya. On your marks, set, go! |
Nigeria, The land of bleaching men and women Women with fake hairs and fake weaves Fake yansh, fake boobs, fake lips and fake nails Fake make-up and plastic faces Fake wealth and false pride and extreme greed Debauchery, decadence, hedonism, gluttony and moral degeneracy Land of maximum consumption but zero production Nigeria is looking like the present-day Sodom and Gomorrah A country where Politicians, Retired Generals, Pastors, Senators, Kidnappers, all worship the same thing A country that is built on greed alone, with no rule, no justice and no morals. Only the worship of money and status There is no future for a country such as this one |
August21:Oga Pastor Johnson Suleman, So God told you that he will give your church many airlplanes and many airlines? Abi no be so? Abeg, Do me one favor. Make I borrow that phone wey you dey use to receive call directly from God about airplanes and buses. Let me borrow that line so I can speak to God directly myself. I don't need any jets and I don't need any buses. I just want to hear from God directly myself and confirm your tori. I have my own requests and questions personally about Nigeria. These our Nigerian pastors never cease to amaze us with their actions and all their words. Suleman, did you also talk to God about that Nigerian woman in Canada that you slept with and said that you gave her belle? The same woman that you used to give plenty of your parishioner's money to? Yes, the same one that you denied knowing or sleeping with. Will you allow her to fly free on the same jet too? What about other Nigerians that need a free ride but are NOT members of your church? |
This is NOT the same Nigeria I used to know. What country is this? |
A person that is underage is described as a "minor" - and that 15 year-old girl is definitely NOT an adult. Anytime an adult man has sex with a "minor" it is considered "statutory rape" and that is what this crime clearly is. Some of you men on this NL Forum never cease to amaze me when you think it is funny whenever a grown man rapes a young girl. I don't see anything at all funny about this kind of act. The girl is NOT of an adult age and she therefore, cannot make an adult decision. This grown-ass man or whatever engineer he calls himself, clearly took advantage of this young lady. HE SHOULD BE LOCKED UP IN PRISON. Lock his grown-ass up and let the other men rape him in prison so he can see what it feels like to be raped. He is a useless man. He had a wife. But knowing Nigeria, the court system will only give him a gentle slap on the wrist and they will let him go practically scot-free. Nigeria is ndeed, a very lawless country, a place where laws apply only against the poor people and all the lower echelon in the country. Nothing is done against the rich and the affluent people in Nigeria. |
JamaicanLove:So why do you choose to call him a fool? |
That is not flogging. If you want to flog, then you must take her pant off and flog her ass real good. The husband must have paid the brothers. ![]() |
@BrainnewsNg, I like your thread. Many times, I see many people on Nairaland spend too much precious time posting about inconsequential gossip such as the lifestyle of the rich and famous, and engaging in a host of other trivial shenanigans, tomfoolery and frivolities but sadly, the same very people spend very little time on the more substantive and important (critical topics) that should matter to all of us. It is therefore always refreshing to me personally, to see someone try to stimulate people on Nairaland in other ways - intellectually or critically, be it in the sciences, history, language or the arts. Years ago, Nigeria was one of the most intellectually-promising and developing countries in the world. Now, we have graduates who cannot even read and comprehend, and cannot write properly or even spell very simple words. Our once proud educational standards have fallen deeply. Somone please tell me, how and why did we get here? On the subject of your thread, I think it is true that quite often, you can tell where a person lived or studied just by looking closely at how they write and spell their words. There is British English (the original version), Australian/New Zealand, Canadian and there is US or American English. All are correct and usable. Americans generally like to keep things simpler. They typically eliminate the extra letters - e.g. the extra "u" in labour, humour or colour, the extra "l" in cancelled, the US drops the extra "m" in programme. A "Resume" instead of Curriculum Vitae. In Britain, it is a car's Bonnet for the front of a car while Americans call it the Hood of a car. The car's behind is the Boot vs the American Trunk. Trousers vs Pants or Slacks. Knickers vs Shorts. Lift vs Elevator or Escalator. Prams vs Stroller. Torch or torchlight vs Flashlight. Chips vs Fries. Well, everyone is right. It's a matter of preference, where you lived and where you're from. |
It is strange how Football and Music - are clearly the only 2 things that ever bring Nigerians of all kinds together, regardless of their language, ethnicity, wealth, state of origin or tribe. Just as there are fans of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti in every corner of Nigeria, there are many fans of Musa the footballer in every part of Nigeria also. That is why I began my post by referencing Football and Music. The two biggest uniters of all Nigerians everywhere. Now back to the real focus of this thread, Ahmed Musa losing his mother. R.I.P. It does not matter how old or how young you are, it is always tough to lose your mother. This is the woman that carried you for 9 months in her stomach, the woman that nursed you and took care of you when you were sick, that cooked for you and breast-fed you when you were a baby. The very first human being who loved you unconditionally when you were young and you were a totally helpless and vulnerable little baby. It is one of the hardest things that happens in your life. As a matter of fact, you and your mother were attached at the umbilical cord when you entered this world! It is such a remrkable bond. I say RIP to Musa's mother and to the family. Too young to die. |
Some white men like to collect women's underwear but NOT for ritual purposes. Oyibo men are just freaks. That's the difference. Wonders shall never cease in Nigeria. How do you use women panties? I am SMH. |
aku626:Hey bro, Did you mean to say synonymous? Because the word you used, Anonymous, means a totally different thing. Anyway, R.I.P. to the dead. Suicide is never the way to go. When a person commits suicide, it clearly shows that the person has given up ALL hope. But personally, I think there is more to this sad story than we have been told. The whole suicide thing should be thoroughly investigated. I am very suspicious that such a young man, who has a lot to live for, will just mysteriously and abruptly end his own life. Did he have known history or any signs of previous mental issues or a case of severe depression? They should begin by investigating all those people who are supposed to be "close" to him and anyone who stands to reap any benefit from his death. Check his wife, his girlfriends, any brothers or half-brothers or sisters, any baby mamas, so-called pals, friends, buddies, rivals, business partners, any business deals, and anybody who owes him any money and all those whom he owes some money etc. Something smells fishy to me here. It doesn't make any sense. Unless he has a history of severe depression or untreated or undiagnosed case of bi-polar condition. Once again, R.I.P. Nigerians need to start making their personal mental health a top priority. We need to consult with "professionals" when we are going through depression. Stop laughing at people who have mental problems. Stop calling them names. Mental Illness is NOT funny. It is very serious. |
You should read this article culled from the LA Times by Alexander Zavis and Robyn Dixon titled - "Only Africans have been tried at the court for the worst crimes on Earth." https://www.latimes.com/world/africa/la-fg-icc-africa-snap-story.html |
DoTheNeedful:You are on point. But remember that only those leaders from "sh*t-hole" countries and poor nations are either charged or locked up. Two Examples here: Charles Taylor - former President of Liberia, who is currently incarcerated. Hissène Habré - former leader of Chad. No doubt, Western leaders have done way more damage to innocent civilians worldwide than the rest of the world combined. |
Which one be dis "well-fed" young man comment sef? If he was "well-fed" will he be stealing motor parts? |
MEMORY LANE - A cursory look back through the lenses, the mindset and attitude and the words of one of Nigeria's leaders from the past. Way before Donald Trump started shouting; "America First," Nigeria had Alhaji Ahmadu Bello who said; "Northern Nigeria First." Whether you liked Ahmadu Bello or not, one thing about him was that he was very clear and deliberate in his statements. He did not pretend. He did not mince his words. By contrast, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik) was a proponent of ONE NIGERIA. He even gave his children Yoruba middle names. Tafawa Balewa was also a diplomatic leader who was also in support of One Nigeria but Ahmadu Bello held on firmly to a policy of the "North First" while Obafemi Awolowo fervently believed in "Southern Nigeria first." That is how it was. Ahmadu Bello said it himself. When we need to hire somebody, we will never hire an Igbo man. First, we will look for somebody from the North. If we can't find a Northerner, then we will look for an expatriate (an Oyinbo man). That is it! The question is, have things changed in Nigeria since then? And if so, how much exactly has changed? And where does Nigeria go from here? Contribute only logical comments and intellectual discussion please. Thank you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_odAy4rVz8 |
These photos tell a story all by themselves. They capture vividly the state of Nigeria's dilapidated infrastructure - a crucial but yet terribly under-served aspect of Nigeria's history - one which is laden with waste, inadequate planning, lack of vision and creativity, lack of maintenance, corruption, mismanagement and several missed opportunities. Very good effort by AutoReportNG to report on what some of us consider very important but often under-reported Nigerian matters. I am always amazed how millions of Nigerians on Nairaland and many blogs and other social media spend most of their time online mainly discussing lame stories about idle celebrity gossips, parties and other vanities but spend very little time discussing those stories that should be more important to Nigerians such as developing Nigeria's infrastructure, business, growing the economy or just plain discussing and debating responsible politics, responsible citizenship and good governance in general. This is one big reason why Nigeria is always playing catch-up from behind. Nigerians need to change their priorities, their attitude and their mind-set in order to move ahead or catch up with the world. And next time, can your reporter/photographer please try to capture any interviews from any workers or personnel on the site and from people who had either worked there in the past and persons who have done any kind of business with that train station in the past. Also maybe a perspective or two from the neighbors and those who live within a close proximity to the train yard, will give us some added insight. This includes independent observers and critics alike. Thanks for sharing. |
Our NIGERIAN Female tolo-tolos.
