Foreign AffairsRe: Coronation Of King Charles III In Pictures by janeedema(f): 4:47pm On May 06, 2023
Please, she isn't Queen Camilla but Queen Consort Camilla. This is very important to know.

Queen Elizabeth's husband was Prince Philip, not King Phillip.

The heir to the throne alone becomes King or Queen, not their spouses. You can't have a King and Queen at the same time.

Christianity EtcThe Unreached People Group by janeedema(op): 5:12pm On Apr 27, 2023
The Unreached People's Group.

It was my first missionary journey and whilst out on evangelism to one of the unreached communities, I had an encounter that had stuck with me to date.

As we reached, as usual, I was with an interpreter since I didn't have a grip on the local language.

We encountered a lady who was about to prepare lunch for her family and engaged her.

And as my custom is when sharing my faith, I asked if she knew who Jesus is, and her response came back as a NO.

I didn't think the interpreter communicated my message correctly, so, I urged him to ask her again, this time stressing the name of Jesus.

And he did and the response was the same.

Only that this time, she beckoned that we should tell her who Jesus is. And we did. Praise God!

That encounter remains one of the high points of my missionary journeys-- as it made a mess of my sunesis.

"How is it even possible that there's someone who hasn't heard about Jesus?" I kept asking myself as we made our way back to our mission base.

Maybe you are in that boat where you are wondering or probably asking if there are truly people who haven't been reached with the gospel -- People who have never heard of the name Jesus or His finished works on the cross. ( Rom 10:14)

Well, let me help with responding with an emphatic YES to your quest! There are.

Fascinating indeed, especially in a world where some of us have unrestricted access to hearing about Him, which has birthed some of the encounters we enjoy.

Even worse is the fact that as these people die before the Gospel gets to them, they head off to a Christ-less eternity. No second chance.

Yeah! All this happening whilst we keep crying to God for one breakthrough after another, so we can live big on a earth that would soon pass away.

Now, the question becomes:

What will you do with this information?

Cry? Pray? Fast? Give?

The truth is:

All these are great, but until it is with a dire commitment to be a part of the GOing, it isn't amounting to much.

Remember, Jesus didn't give us a substitute for GO-ing.

The Bible reckons that the laborers are few and that we should pray that God should send men to GO into the harvest field. ( Mathew 9:35-38)

The thing is:

Do we see ourselves as the people Jesus commissioned into the harvest field?

When we pray that God should raise people to GO for missions and don't create time to be a part of GOing ourselves, are we truly sincere?

Hmmm...we have to realize this:

No mission comes out of convenience. Those who are part of it, are making huge sacrifices for the faith they hold dear.

Besides, when we pray that others should be sent into the mission fields, are we suggesting that some people have all the time in the world, or are called to sleep on cement floors or open lawns?

Are we insinuating that some have a special anointing to tame the bloodthirsty mosquitoes in these regions?

Ha! Now I get:

We are praying for those who have been gifted or imparted with missionary stomachs to eat concoctions or drink cholera waters to arise and embrace their calling.

Can I emphasize?

The command to GO didn't exempt anyone from GOing.

I believe that if it becomes our genuine heart's desire to truly GO, God will place it in our hands. (Philippians 4:13)

As we plan and look forward to having vacations in Hawaii, Maldives, or even Dubai, it's important to know that planning toward GOing for missions is also possible.

It isn't less. It is more. It is the real deal. Give towards missions but also plan to be a part of it. Don't let anyone cheat you.

Let's plan to be a partaker of the sufferings of Christ. Let's not just sing that we love Him with our mouths. Let's show Him that we do by planning to GO with our legs, too.

If our ministry is rift of world evangelization, then we risk delaying the return of Christ.

If the unreached people's group is where God's heart is, seeing that He wants all men saved, that's where ours should be as well.

I'm sure that as we begin to make going for missions our hearts cry, by asking God to send us, not just others-- but us; God will begin to create opportunities for us to be His outstretched arm and legs to these unreached communities.

He would make a way for us to GO, indeed.

Shalom.

Christianity EtcYou Are In His Plan by janeedema(op): 11:00am On Apr 21, 2023
You are in His plan.

9 months after you get married, womb watchers will start asking if everything is fine.

A year after graduation from NYSC, The Association of Concerned People (TACP) will start questioning:

"Where's the bobo; when are we wearing Asoebi?'

Even when someone is married and has a child, online and onsite inlaws will start raising prayer points on their behalf to have more children irrespective of what a couple wants.

You can only begin to imagine what becomes of someone who says they don't want to get married or have children.

You can be sure that some people will hold vigils on their behalf not giving a hoot about their decision.

The Church doesn't help the ordeal:

They come explaining times and seasons and attributing every marital delay to marine spirit or spirit spouses.

The pastor will simply give you prayer points to bind and loose your sprit spouse-- they don't think anything else could be a reason.

When people get married out of pressure to those God hasn't ordained for them, check what or who they have been listening to.

This shouldn't be you.

Don't get married out of pressure. Your purpose comes first. It will inform who you say YES to.

Let me remind you: You are in His plan.

Now, let me ask:

Who informed you that you are waiting?

My guess? Society.

Society is continually putting us under pressure on when things should be done. It informs us of the risks of not marrying early. It tells us of the consequences of not following the norm irrespective of the dangers, and we oblige.

The word of God didn't say anything about biological clock and that's because we were created to redefine societal views-- to make a mess of widely held opinions.

If we could only make God's word our standard, we would hardly have cause to worry.

When Elizabeth had John the Baptist, she was old and well-stricken in age, society called her barren. Yet God designed her to be the mother of the forerunner of Jesus.

She wept about the delay. Perhaps, she started hiding from her peers who were grandmothers already.

Society wrote her off, but she was still on God's agenda. She had always been there.

Her church concluded that demons were holding her womb and that her village people were stopping children from entering her womb.

Yet on God's agenda, it was destined for her to wait because her womb was to carry someone sacred.

I'm not sure what informs you but know that being informed by God's timing and purpose for your life is the safest place to be.

Don't be defined by societal norms. The pressure could be abysmal.

Follow God and trust His lead for you are in His plan.
Christianity EtcMisplaced Shame by janeedema(op): 10:54am On Apr 21, 2023
Misplaced Shame

I have always wondered why people wear cloaks of shame that aren't theirs to wear in the first place.

You find a barren woman, dancing her best dance during a naming ceremony, while all she might crave at that moment is to just put up her legs somewhere and rest; but alas she has to be the best dancer, so as not to be called out as a barren, jealous, bitter woman.

The single lady tries harder to be nice to avoid being told why she hasn't hooked a man yet.

The divorced woman goes out of her way by doing things she would never do just to convince people that she has some goodness in her, despite being kicked out by her husband.

The list is endless of people who have become victims of circumstances beyond their control and are shamed as a result.

Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist said whilst giving thanks to the Lord "Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men'.

This reproach/shame brought on by society due to someone's challenges or delay is a real deal.

However, you must ask yourself...should I be the one wearing this cloak of shame?

Shame came as a result of sin and only a person who has done something terrible should be ashamed of their actions. Gen 2:25

But the devil has changed the shame game and has created a system where the offender is the one going around shameless and the offended hangs their head in shame.

You did nothing wrong in being single whether by choice or by circumstance.

You don't have to hang your head in shame because you didn't produce a baby after the timeline set by womb watchers

You did no wrong by leaving a husband that cheats and beats you at the slightest opportunity he gets.

Therefore, stand up from that place and take off that garment of shame the world wants you to wear and give it to who actually owns it...The devil.

Refuse to be ashamed or apologetic over circumstances you have no control over.

Stand tall as you look to God who perfects all things at His time.

🤣😂🤣😂This is hilarious, thank you.

quote author=johnjay4u2u post=121632328]There's always 2 sides to a story.
However, this short one is between the human and animal kingdom.
What you are about to read is the side of the homo sapien (me). A Dr Dolittle will come in handy to say the side of the rat.

I have had the history of being a tormentor to the rat kingdom everywhere my parents relocated to.
I have a feeling they call a family meeting because of my brutality to their brothers, sisters, children and parents.
I have killed several rats and lost count.
From catching them alive and injecting them with kerosene, water, garri water etc till they die to crushing them into pieces with instruments.
I did them strong things. 😂

This notable story is about the time I repented from killing rats; that was during my early undergrad days.
I suspect watching National Geographic station was contributory.
I then had a rat that sneaked into my room.
I decided to let it be. It became so comfortable that it sneaks out to watch TV whenever I put it on. Only runs away when I decide to standup (for fear of me trying to kill it, I guess).

I literally started feeding it when I am eating by throwing pieces of fish or meat towards where it stays. Anyway, I ensured it was only one (before rat go start kingdom for my self-contained apartment).
This rat gradually became so comfortable that the mumu thing will want to welcome my visitors (sneaks out to check who I am talking with) 😂😂😂

I'm not a man of love so didn't name it before I go loose focus.

Maybe he is a crook like you claim the Pandora Times insinuated. He has clarified this issue.

But let me ask

Is he stealing to take the money to heaven?

We know his kids and what they do for a living. We know where he lives.
We see what he wears and drives.

So, if he is indeed a crook, what's the purpose of stealing if it isn't used to better your life and that of your relatives?

Someone who left money in the state's coffers cannot be pretending to hate money whilst he is stealing it. His antecedent clearly justifies him.

It's been years, almost a decade he left government house, if he was a crook or living in pretense, we would have known by now.

His flamboyance will implicate him. His children's lifestyle would as well.

Come on, he has a daughter who is a teacher in Nigeria after resigning from a privileged position abroad.

I think the real issue is that some people find it difficult to believe that there can actually be political "saints" existing in Nigeria.

Peter Obi has a genuine heart for the plight of people, if you cannot see it, I cannot help you.

Chill sir, Peter Obi is coming, your nausea notwithstanding.

Christianity EtcWhat To Do When You Are Mocked. by janeedema(op): 1:07pm On Feb 21, 2023
What to do when you are Mocked.

(Mark 10:46-50)
46. Next, they came to Jericho. And as Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho with a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road.

47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48. Many people admonished him to be silent, but he cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”

So they called the blind man. “Take courage!” they said. “Get up! He is calling for you.”

50Throwing off his cloak, Bartimaeus jumped up and came to Jesus.

---------
Did you notice how those who told the blind man to shut up were the same people who went back to celebrate him when the Master chose to give Him audience?

Now, imagine if he had stopped calling on his God because He was being scorned.

When faced with challenges, that's not the time to lose faith in God.

It's important to always remember that the only thing the devil attacks during challenging times is our faith.

And that's because our faith is what empowers our prayers to deliver.

And this is why the devil fights it.

The only fight we are called to as Christians is the good fight of faith-- and that's a fight to keep our faith alive and ignited.

The devil doesn't challenge our health for nothing. The goal is to dampen our faith.

He doesn't fight our finances for nothing. The goal is to weaken our faith.

He doesn't wrestle our relationships for nothing. The goal is to paralyse our faith.

So, when a Christian stops calling out to God due to challenges, the devil laughs-- because that's the goal, after all.

Please, don't let the devil win.

Like the blind Bartimaeus, when the world tells you to stop serving God because He doesn't care about your service, serve Him the more.

When the world tells you to go into hiding for you don't have a testimony to share, that's when to increase the tempo of your voice.

When supposed Christians laugh you to scorn and attribute your failures to your lack of fervency, you cry all the more louder-- to your Father.

When family members and friends desert you, questioning your overzealousness for a God who doesn't care about your predicament, that's when to be the more zealous.

And then, your God will hear you.

Don't give in to the nay-sayers.

Don't embrace their talk, else you'll die their deaths.

Cry loud to your God and the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple.

Keep winning souls!
Keep giving for Kingdom advancement!
Keep serving humanity!
Keep loving God!
Keep praying!
Yes! Keep on keeping the faith.

Soon, and I mean real soon, those who screamed that you are a man that's why you cannot become pregnant will come celebrate with you.

Soon, those who laughed and called you jobless will come back and cheer you on.

Soon, those who called you a graduate spinster or professional bachelor will come buy your asoebi.

Soon, those who begged you to curse God and die so your suffering can end will chew their words as your health spring back speedily.

Only be like the blind Bartimaeus; don't keep quiet, for a closed mouth is a closed destiny, Papa Oyedepo would say.

Shout to God still.
Dance before Him still.
Praise Him even louder.
Serve Him yet harder.

And your God, even our God will come save you.

She was rushed in as an emergency to XYZ hospital and that engineered her being treated for free.

But at her recovery, she was slammed with tackling a hospital bill that surpassed her family's networth, and her inability to pay has kept her hostage for 3-months-- yeah! In the hospital.

Her mum is still running around trying to gather over 900k to offset her bill and pay for another surgery-- an abdominal surgery she's due for in the coming week.

With every delay, she suffers excruciating pains from her abdomen that sees her rolling on the bed.

As I engaged Bimpe, I noticed she has embraced her fate of being confined and now sees the hospital as her new home.

In her condition, you can still hear her laugh from time to time, and like a switch in a board, she would start crying when her abdominal pain sets in.

As we conversed, she confided in me on how she wasn't sure of
her faith in God any longer.

"When I came here, I used to have a lot of faith, I would pray and pray, but right now, I'm not sure I have any more faith left". She had said.

Guess what?

I totally understood her plight.

Being away from fellowship for over 3-months would cripple any faith.

After sharing with her and leading her back to Christ, I committed to giving her data so she can subscribe to watching inspirational videos on YouTube to boost her faith for a miracle.

Now, before you say:

"Na wa o...see our Nigeria"

Know that I encountered several young ladies like Bimpe in that hospital.

In fact, there's a lady who has been held hostage for over 8-months, and after paying N1.5m, she still owes well over N1m.

All of this is happening right inside life.

Maybe you are like Bimpe who have lost faith in God due to life's billowy seas.

I want you to be encouraged, for help is on the way.

Please, don't give up on your Maker. He is the only one who can truly change your situation.

Hang in there, please. Let me resound: Help is on the way.

Hmmm...well spelled. I agree with you to some extent.

However, when a people consistently have leaders who aren't responsible, they should become responsible for themselves.

WThe
franchasng:
Most of you that always say a good leader or President cant change Nigeria are not well informed, and don't understand what leadership is.

A good leader determined to change the statusquo will turn things around.

It takes just a strict President to enforce some laws, strengthen the judiciary, the security and ensure people in positions of leadership of government agencies are held accountable without protecting anybody that errs.

So long as the President is not corrupt, not compromising, not taking bribe, his family aren't taking either, the job is half done because those under him will try to emulate him.

Use some heads of government bodies to show brutal examples, jail some without much court cases, establish special courts to prosecute government officials and make it clear that if you, your wife or kids are found guilty should face the consequences and uphold it and watch every Nigerian readjust.

Make an unannounced sudden visits to some key governments agencies and parastatals like customs Apapa, FAAN, EFCC, etc and sack some of the so called Ogas you find wanting instantly with detention.

Do this consistently for 2 years and watch things turn around in Nigeria for good and discipline will be instilled down to Nigerians in remote villages.

All the corruption destroying Nigeria started from civil service, government agencies, security (Police, Army, Customs, EFCC, etc). Use some corrupt heads in these government bodies as scapegoats and watch others behave well.

If any court pass any useless judgment that its glaring to all that is fraud like the one given to Senate President Lawan, damn the consequences and use executive power and arrest the judges and lock them up, the people will support you even though the elites will scream blue murder.

But make sure you are not doing it only to people from other tribes or religion, do it to both your tribesmen, religion and others the same way, and watch Nigeria turnaround

SmartPolician:
My dear, go and do the same at Aso Rock and see if you will be allowed to enter. Why? That's because security personnel who work there have a sense of responsibility and know they will be punished if they fail to do the needful.

Yes, you and I have a role to play, but leaderhsip is everything. Quote me anywhere.
If the followers see that nobody cares, they won't care. If the followers know that their actions have consequences, everyone will sit up.

I have repeatedly told people that leaderhsip transcends building infrastructural projects. Anybody can borrow money to build projects, including my late grandma who built houses without borrowing. However, where leadership works, there must be a sense of law and order. Just like they describe laissez-faire leadership style, people are allowed to take charge but must account for their actions.

This is one of the reasons why I am voting for Peter Obi; we need everyone to obey law and order in this country, no people reminding you that they are highly connected because they were asked to obey simple instructions. For God's sake, this is the 21st Century and we cannot continue behaving like we live in a Plantain Plantation.

PoliticsNigerians Remain The Problem Of Nigeria by janeedema(op): 4:44am On Feb 08, 2023
At about 3:00am, I walked into the patients' ward in one of our highly esteemed teaching hospitals in Lagos-Nigeria to check up on a relative.

I passed a security man at the entrance to the department as I forced the slide door open. I muttered a good morning and made past him.

The corridors and passages were deserted. No patient, doctors, nurses, or security men were in view.

I passed the ground floor, and headed for the 1st floor through the stair case, I got to the 2nd floor and then, made for the ward. Strangely, I still found no one in sight.

I pushed the massive door that leads into Ward-A open and still, not the faintest sound from anyone.

So, I entered into the room where my relative was, checked on her, gisted with her a bit, still no one was in view or even heard us.

Of course, the other patients were snoring.

Now, there are no CCTV cameras installed, which means I could have injected any of the patients with a strange chemical, or pressed a pillow over their heads to cut off air supply like Jim Iyke in Nollywood movies.

As I made my way out, the nurses and security guards continued to snore off wherever they were.

-------
You see this our Nigeria, it will take more than a good president to fix it.

And the reason is simple:

Nigeria is not just the president. Nigeria is you and I, and it can only be fixed if we all take responsibility.

Pray all you want. Fast join sef. If we refuse to take responsibility as individuals, nothing will change for us as a nation.

The malady that unfolded before me had nothing to do with President Buhari. It was a flaw, a lapse by citizens who are paid salaries but left their duty post. It's called negligence.

A lapse that could cost lives. A negligence that rubbishes our identity as a people.

You want a better Nigeria? I'm sure we all do.

But a great head with sick body will definitely birth a sick life.

Nigerians remain the problem of Nigeria.

Let's rise up and become what we want to see in our nation. I still believe it's possible.

Christianity EtcWe Are First, Humans. by janeedema(op): 8:32am On May 23, 2022
Due to recent happenings, I catch myself praying for humanity to be restored to our hearts.

The heart that makes us reach out to others irrespective of their tribe, religion, or affiliations.

Such that, when one person is hurting, we make it a priority to be there for them. Not because they deserve it, but because you are human and so your good conscience isn't soiled.

Never forget that before we were separated by tribe, race, religion, associations, denominations, etc. We are first humans.

When someone is dying in front of you and you are tempted to be taking a selfie, you better kneel and ask God to stir compassion in you. Something isn't just right with your heart.

When someone reaches out to you to pray for or with them concerning any issue or challenge they are going through, don't make it about you. If you can't be of help, ensure you direct them to another channel, and let them know you are there for them.

When people reach out to you and ask for help or any form of assistance, know that it may have taken them lots of struggles to do so. Don't be insensitive to their plight even if you cant help.

Don't be one more reason why someone will choose to die in silence instead of asking for help or assistance so they won't be taunted.

Some of us have stalled the grace that should flow freely in our lives, due to our selfishness and self-centeredness.

As Christians, God can hardly use any man who doesn't have his belly flowing with bowels of mercy and compassion for others.

Even Jesus's miracles was characterized by compassion for others. Comparison stirs the anointing.

You can't see signs or wonders if everything has to be about your ego, position, and status. If everything has to be about you, then the ministry of Christ will find blame.

You may have experienced hurt, you may have been rejected when trying to be a good person. You may have been despised when reaching out and your pride was hurt. Still, don't stop being a good person. Don't trade your heart and become a beast.

Letting someone know you are praying for them is being human. Letting someone know it will get better is being human. Letting someone know they should hang in there and be strong is being human. Let this flow freely from you.

That's being human and that's the demand of our Christianity. Anything else is hypocrisy.

Christianity EtcOthers May, I Cannot. by janeedema(op): 4:41am On May 21, 2022
As the end of the age draws close with the signs that precede the rapture of the church obvious, it becomes important to reflect constantly on how well we are running our race, as Christians.

I went through a documentary of George Muller recently, and I couldn't stop my tears from flowing, as I pondered on if our present-day focus as Christians still aligns with what Christ instituted and had in mind.

"What's the drive behind my Christianity?", I kept asking myself.

When one considers the ease with which we blend into the world's systems as against standing out as light, you are tempted to almost conclude, that we must have forgotten that we are strangers on earth.

These days, we can't ascertain who a Christian is and who isn't from contact. This was hardly the case decades ago where just seeing a Christian sends shivers of guilt down your spine.

Their conversation. Conduct. Charisma would often win more souls than the message they bear. From them, love simply drips.

I thought to remind us today that Jesus is coming again. Dear Christians, it isn't a myth. You may have heard since when you were a baby.

But know this:

He sure is coming real soon.

This is why more than ever, it is expedient to draw a clear line of who we are and to whom we belong-- without apology.

We represent a kingdom bound by strict dictates. For a Christian, anything doesn't just go.

We cannot keep sinning and expect the grace of God to abound. We cannot be complacent about holiness and then faith-speak making the rapture. We cannot play with the things that God has called us out from and keep a straight face that it doesn't matter.

Christians, others may thrive in ungodliness, but you cannot.

You have been set apart. You have been called holy. You have been called pure.

Don't let the little foxes that destroy the vine make you unworthy of His appearing.

Dear Christian, once saved isn't forever saved. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Let the matters of the kingdom move you. Let your love for God move you to ensure that the ministry the Lord Jesus handed over to the saints isn't blamed.

Be a shining light in a crooked and perverse generation.

Refuse to blend in, for you've been called and alienated. You've been set apart. You've been called holy. Keep that garment pure.

Yes! You cannot engage in worldliness because you are different.

Dear friends, remain rapturable.

i heard a similar story, but it was a female friend of the wife that beat the husband, don't know if they stopped fighting after that. Guess that goes to show, anything can happen.

Nice writing, if was creative.

Hahahahahahahaa.
Thank you for your thoughts. Well appreciated. I guess my thought is in line with domestic abuse especially between couples. If wives learn how to self-defend, who knows, .it could help husbands who often lose it to stay in line.

I once heard of a story where a man who was fond of beating he wife was accosted by the woman's brother who was a soldier and best the living day light out of him. That became the last time the couple ever had a physical fight.

quote author=Shidda post=112747185]lol, i can't believe i thought that was real.
Anyways, i too wanted to learn how to fight so i could defend myself. During my research, i came across a thread on reddit talking about how to fight, i think the person that opened wanted to know how to fight and was asking for tips. and i was shocked at was reading.
Martial artists, soldiers, people who know the street, all saying the same thing, this best thing for you to do is to avoid a fight. However, if you were to enter into a fight, your goal is to kill, yes, that's what they wrote. forget about what you see on tv, don't use your hand, it's ineffective, find the nearest object, even if it's a knife, take it and stab. If you have no choice but to use hands, go for the weak spots (groin, nose, eyes). Your goal in a fight is survival, not winning, and if you enter a fight, you put your life on the line, so end the fight as soon as possible, by end kill and severely injure so that you can run, and run away fast.
i like some people were shocked, people that understood supported such statements, this is life not movies. At the end of the day, the best thing is to avoid, better to be insulted than to lose an eye. So be warned, fighting kills.
"I have told you severally not to use that tone when talking to me", came a very vehement male voice.

"So, I shouldn't talk to you again, Chibuzor? How come everything I say these days is now wrong", a lady's voice responded, calmly.

At this, I turned to see a couple walking out of the mall.

I ignored their banter and focused on the ATM I was standing beside to withdraw money.

But because their car was parked close to the ATM, I could still hear their heated conversation.

"What did I now say that's getting you all worked up? Chi, I always know when you're lying to me", the lady continued.

"It's clear the beating you received last week didn't reset your brain.", Chibuzor retorted, now getting impatient.

"Do you love her? Just tell me, so I know..."

The lady hadn't finished speaking when I heard a loud bang and turned.

The guy had hit her with the nylon of groceries he was holding, and now littered over the floor were some of the goods they purchased.

As the lady cried holding her head where she was hit, Chibuzor replied brusquely:

"Get into the car, my friend, before I leave you here."

As she made to walk into the car, he muttered:

"Nonsense, you too want to talk, wait till we get home", and then hissed.

And that was when the "Taekwondo" inside of me came popping.

I somersaulted to where their car was, asked the lady to move to safety, and then asked the guy why he hit her.

He looked at the slim, almost frail lady standing before him and burst into hysterical laughter.

"You? Wonders shall never end. Women's emancipation 'odikwa' getting serious. So, what do you want to do about my hitting her?" Chibuzor taunted.

"I want you to apologize to her, now" I muttered.

At this juncture, a crowd of people had gathered and the man's wife joined and started placating that I ignored him.

As I stood imagining his audacity to hit a woman with a pack of groceries and the effrontery afterward to tell her to crawl into his car, I heard:

"I repeat what will you do if I don't?", Chibuzor's angry voice brought me back to reality.

"I will beat the hell out of you, and get heaven into you." came my very confident response.

"You will what? Chibuzor retorted, and charged at me.

Then, just then I smiled and rolled up my sleeves. Positioned my legs. Twisted my fists. and was about to shout "heeyahhhh", when I woke up.

Alas, it was a dream.

TravelHow To Travel Out Of Nigeria By Road. by janeedema(op): 10:41pm On Mar 29, 2022
I was browsing through a site recently and was asked, which country I had traveled to in the last five years, and luckily for me, I had an answer to provide.

Then, it dawned on me that there are some Nigerians who haven't bothered to engage in international travels because they have the erroneous belief that they have to travel by air, which can be truly cost-intensive.

Well, this is to tell you that you don't need to break the bank to have your passport stamped.

Yes! You can have a visa on your passport when you travel by road, too.

You could check out the process here, and please, don't forget to subscribe and like, as I plan to update you with edutainment content.

Christianity EtcYour Love Talk Vs Love Walk by janeedema(op): 9:03pm On Jan 27, 2022
"I'm inviting you to my church next Sunday. We are having a very special program, and it promises to change you", Bro Emma would always tell anyone who cares to listen.

Now, we all know Bro Emma in the compound.

A vibrant Evangelist. Speaking in tongues specialist. "Dangelous Player Wallior". Sleeping in church advocate. Vigil ambassador, and Holy ghost mafia.

That's his CV right there.

Oh...I didn't add:

Whenever he sings in his apartment, you will think the rapture is taking place within the hour.

At night, it gets worse.

"Labololomonogididididi... leblanikololososossosso... Shalakaelakinhsisisisissi"

Don't worry, you' re safe. It isn't an earthquake.

It's Bro Emma's signature 'dangelous' tongues rendezvous.

And usually, when he starts like that, forgerrit!

Sleeping becomes a tall dream! You wee gats no choice than to join in his vigil-- from your apartment.

Then, in the morning, you will hear:

"I have told you woman, don't talk to me in that tone, learn some respect", a male voice will speak vehemently.

And a female voice would respond.

"If I do, what will you do? I say, what will you do? Beat me like you always do?"

Yeah! You got it! Bro Emma and his wife are at it again.

Usually, their fight doesn't end in their apartment o. No! It warms up there and makes its way to the yard where we are forced to become their referee.

By evening, he is back to inviting us to church.

God help if you go and lament to him that he should pay his bills or rent.

Then, he would open to you the book of Judges, Numbering your life's Chronicles.

In fact, the Revelation you will hear will stun you, and Exodus will be your natural inclination.

Oh...how we love Bro Emma and avoid him at all cost.

How sad!☹️

--------------

Some of us have a Bro Emma in our world, who wouldn't let us rest with: "My church is having this program or that program".

And the zeal is great.

Yet, the truth remains:

Attending church doesn't change anyone. Sing about your church. Dance about your church's activities-- if you like. The programs they organize won't change you, unless you deliberately cultivate a relationship with the risen Christ.

But this is where I'm going with this:

If you are like Bro Emma in your compound, I'll suggest you hide your church's poster.

Yeah! You heard me. Hide it! You are driving people away from the Church rather than into it.

And that's because people will often judge a message by its bearer.

Oh...of course, they may be wrong. But can you blame them? If the message isn't changing you, why should they embrace it?

Isn't it laughable that the people you are inviting to your church pay their bills, don't raise hands on their spouses, and don't fight with neighbours.

Funnily, they do all these without sleeping in church or doing vigils that disturb the neighbourhood.

So, what's your testimony exactly?

Hear me, please:

One of the ways you know you are growing in your Christian walk is when you become less self-centered and more God-centric.

And by God-centric, I don't mean going to sleep in church, singing soul-lifting songs, or praying in dangerous tongues 24/7.

Actors and actresses can play these roles better-- I tell you! Just give them the script.

This is why it's what you do when you come down from the mountain that determines whether you are an actor or a true worshipper.

No one encounters God and treats people poorly.

When your love-walk and love-talk are different, signing register in church hardly matters. You're simply a motivational preacher, or worse, a comedian.

And this is why:

You draw others to the God they cannot see, by the way you treat the gods(people) you see.

Do I undermine sleeping in church?

Not at all! By all means, do. I could lend you a mattress, sef.

But while you're at it, don't keep subjecting the name of the Lord to mockery. It doesn't just make sense.

You can't keep being a baby Christian forever. If your going to church 24/7 isn't affecting your love walk, then something is wrong.

Go fix it!

And this is how :

Admit something is wrong and cry to God for help genuinely. Yes! It's that simple. Just stop acting.

I go in peace.

BusinessCustomer, Content Or Strategy: Which Is King? by janeedema(op): 2:22pm On Jan 24, 2022
I grew up hearing that customer is king-- I believe most of us did.

And I figured that's another way to say, accord your customers respect and attention that befits a king.

Jesus says as leaders (pioneers, business owners, industry giants, etc) be servants. In other words, make those who patronize you feel special.

That's a strategy Christ was giving to those who would excel in any form of trade or industry.

Any business that serves its customers excellently will always stand out.

The problem usually is that most businesses start with treating customers as kings until they become repeat customers.

Then, they focus on the new customers at the expense of the old ones-- who start feeling like they have overstayed their welcome.

They focus on prospects. Sending them messages about their businesses and checking up on them blasting their emails until you start patronizing them, then they stop.

The same applies in most relationships. You start out treating each other with respect, making an effort until there seems to be no need anymore-- the reason most relationships hit the rocks.

The definition of "See finish", you could call it.

To avoid "see finish" in any trade or industry, there has to be a strategy.

This is to help you sustain relationships-- spouse, customers, prospects, repeat customers, siblings, etc.

Years ago, I remember stepping into a store and being treated with so much respect each time I entered to make a purchase. Then, after a while, the business owner will always ignore me and tend to customers that I came into her shop before.

So, I approached her to know why she operates her business that way.

And she was like: "na we, na we naw"

Like I was a shareholder in her business.

Please, know this:

It isn't enough to have a business, you must strategize on how to make repeat customers continually feel like kings. And never to be taken for granted.

Else, all you'll keep doing is having customers that soon get discontented and retainership becomes impossible.

As I delved into the digital marketing terrain, I heard the cliche, "content is king".

And in my mind, I was like:

Content is king? Customer is king? Hmmm.

True, it's possible to have two kings, but not in the same kingdom. That would be monstrous.

If all your business does is churn out content without considering her prospects or customers, then that would be like playing football without a goal post.

That's where strategy comes in to bridge the divide.

A well-devised strategy should help you churn out content that converts:

Prospects to customers
Customers to repeat customers, and then
Repeat customers to loyal customers.

Content only becomes king with a well-mapped-out strategy that keeps customers feeling like a king.

Strategy alone sustains any goal for the long term.

So, if content can only be effective by strategizing, and your business can only continually retain customers by strategy, the question becomes:

Who's the true king here?

In my opinion, that title goes inarguably to:

STRATEGY!!!

All hail the king.

Love doesn't preach, she acts.

When you encounter her, you suddenly start feeling inadequate even without her saying a word.

She's a combination of sensitivity, calm, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness, and depth.

Pride or ego doesn't have a place in her.

She doesn't think of others less. She sees herself as a servant always.

On encountering her, you start to shed tears because, through her actions, all you'll crave is to be better.

She doesn't judge even when that's what you deserve. She looks at you and smiles; a smile that melts your heart.

And guess what? You'll start judging yourself.

"I want to be like you!". "I want to see others with the lens God sees them,". "I want to embrace those who wrong me and pray for them all night long.", "I want to make excuses for those who treat me unfairly," you'll cry.

She'll look back and smile

"One step at a time. You'll get there." She'll often say, laughing.

Love is fearful not to cause anyone to stumble, so she chooses her words and minds her steps.

Love has a voice and needs no introduction.

She would rather suffer a loss of ego than to see anyone lose track.

"You hurt me, you truly hurt me badly, but I forgive you", she'll often say to those who offend her.

She chases after the lost like her existence depends on them.

She will never pay lip service. Sincere to a fault.

She sees through the eyes of those hurting amidst their smiles and engages them.

She prays for the seemingly feeble and encourages them still.

"I'm praying for you", she will always resound.

She looks at those who preach about her, and with a smile she says:

"I have a voice. I am action, not mere words, that's why I always leave a trail behind."

This person called LOVE will always lift others.

"Hmmm...it's not a small something o. I started drafting out what I needed to commence and screamed at the whooping sum that stared at me.

It's like each of them wants to milk me dry, and this is just the warming up phase o.

So, I was like: 'Oluwa' o, me I cannot comman use all my life savings to be starting one business; instead, lemme kukuma sidon in my office and be managing my 70k stipend. At all at all no good". Bibi explained.

"Bibi oh... Bibi, thou art worried about so many things", I said jokingly.

------------
Some of us are like Bibi.

You want to get started with chasing your business or political aspirations, but stall because you figure that the resources needed come at exorbitant prices.

"It has to be perfect," you keep saying.

But does the state of perfection exist? I believe the answer is a resounding, No!

The perfection mentality is a great one and has its place.

Albeit, you should be willing to trade progress for perfection; especially when starting.

Hmmm...ok. Here's what you could do:

Get started with the resources you have and make improvements along the way.

Your photography doesn't have to be by Kelechi Amadi or TY Bello Photography when you could start with your "kpalasa" phone, or borrow a friend's Behind phone

(This will make up your brand's story eventually, no worries.)

For your graphics, you could use some free online tools, instead of hiring a graphics artist.

Soon, and I mean real soon, you will upgrade if you continue your trade.

If you want to hire the House of Tara to come do your make-up, that's great, but this
may end up hyping your startup budget.

So, it's either you learn how to do your make-up to save cost, or you hire a startup make-up artist who's good.

Now, wait o, who says your wardrobe must be made of Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein's designer wear before you sell?

It's good to look great, but you could look beautiful in some thrift ( Okrika) clothes, as well -- for a start!

See, if you don't tell us, we won't know-- and even if we know, don't worry, some of us will look down on your brand, but some of us will understand you're just starting.

But why should you care about what anyone thinks?

I tell you the truth: You won't notice those looking down on you unless you're looking up to them.

So, be inspired by progress and fulfilling purpose.

How about this?

CelebritiesRe: Picture Of Obi Cubana And His Elder Brothers by janeedema(f): 5:52pm On Jul 28, 2021
Did Obi Cubana's elder brothers declare their net worth? Maybe they did, but I missed it.

That they weren't showy during their mum's funeral, or aren't sociable to have friends in influential places doesn't mean they are less wealthy than Obi.

I felt I should mention it. Personalities differ and their line of trade may be why they aren't in face of the media, but it doesn't in any way suggest that they are poorer than Obi Cubana.

quote author=FamTomx2 post=104188060]Family is sweeter when everyone is justified,

Obi is at peace with his elderly siblings,
Not very common in Igbo land especially when the younger is richer,

Smiles on their faces show that they are not bothered.
