I really just pity humans. You have a brain, but yet still seek the command of someone to tell you how you have to live every facet of your life because you're scared of sinning. How sensible do you think that is? I'm a Christian, but i know that even Christianity has gone through some evolution. Was it not the same Christianity that was against sex for anything other than procreation? Many saw it as a dirty necessary evil we had to perform in order to procreate. Therefore it was considered sinful to even think of sex as a recreation. But somehow we've disproved this, albeit with scriptures to back it up. But where in the scriptures does it talk of using contraceptives? Where? Of course, you trust religious people to throw common sense to the wind and quickly label it a sin. But the more progressive churches have seen the sense in it, and rightly so. Afterall married couples reserved the right to safeguard against unwanted pregnancy. Furthermore, it's simply not practicable to wait until you want to have a child before one satisfies his/her sexual craving. This is a just one of many examples were human reasoning and common sense is absolutely okay. There's a reason why we've evolved into dating, and it has nothing to do with disobeying God's commandment. There were several things in the bible that were permissible, it doesn't mean they're benchmarks on how 21st century Christians should live their lives. Haba! Let's have sense na. Alot of people just like to make life difficult for themselves by insisting on things that are really incompatible with present day life. And the funny thing is, they usually end up bitter and miserable but they'll never tell you. But it's easy to spot them, because they revel in inflicting guilt and condemnation on people they've labeled sinners. That's their way of spreading the gospel. Stupid people ![]() |

Whether you feel sorry or not you messed up by beating her. It's even worse that it was in the presence of your young niece. I wonder the type of orientation you're trying to give her. What's done is done, but you could've been sued for battery. |
It's fascinating how one's perception changes over time. Had never listened to his album comprehensively then, even though i was familiar with almost every song there. But on giving it a closer listen now, i came to appreciate how much a "student" of the game he was. You could tell that he really studied hiphop. That album had both club bangers and conscious songs. It had dope features all through. Although not the first of it's kind, it's an album that ushered in a new era of bilingual(Yoruba-English) rap. I can't help but think what would've become of him if he were alive. Would he have left his hiphop roots for a more afro-pop feel just to go with the trend? Or would he have stuck to his guns and somehow maintained his relevance while staying true to his style? Who knows if dude would've emulated 50cents by having his own hiphop collective. I can't help but wonder. I miss the dude even though i never met him. But i guess i did, through his music. May he live forever through his music. Long Live DaGrin |

Your job isn't always meant to FULFILL you, provided you've got something else you're passionate about. And sometimes we get stuck with jobs that don't require our particular skill sets. That's just life my brother. Sometimes you've got to work with what you've got. This is not to say that you should tolerate a hostile work environment if it poses a risk to your wellbeing. If that's the case then quiting is most advisable. That being said, alot of people are of the belief they aught to find life's fulfillment in their work. It's quite reasonable after all, our jobs are usually lifelong. Why not do what you love or enjoy doing, right? Well the problem is life is not bound by our wishes. Location, job availability, and that what we'd love to do may never be able to fully sustain us are amongst the many factors stacked against our wishes. But it still is possible to be happy and do a job one isn't particularly thrilled with. All that's needed is a change of mindset, and some interesting hobby or activity outside work. If one has a satisfactory post-work life, it tends to spill into his work life too. At the very least, things become more tolerable when there are things to look forward to. Work is part of life, but life isn't all about work. We don't always get what we want. And even when we do, it's not always presented the way we'd want it to. Until you come across a better option, i suggest you buckle up! |
