Exmilitant: Stop the insults! Everything he said was proof from the bible. Bros there would always be proof of World happenings in bible, because that's what Christians consider to be their supreme source of information. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's quite easy for humans to warp reality in order to fit their own narratives(or in this case, their religious books). It's the reason for many false predictions and prophecies. Are you seriously telling me that living in the bronze age, where a whole country could be laid waste by a higher civilization with barely any consequences was much safer than what we have now? Truth is, it's a matter of opinion. I'm just pointing it out to you that there's was never a point in human history where there wasn't some form of turmoil or the other. We could discuss about signs of the end time for the next 1,000 years. Its doesn't mean they aren't true, but barely anyone could point with absolute certainty as to what time frame this is supposed to take place. A 100? maybe 1000? No one can tell! Now taking an individual case such as this as a sign of the end time is so misleading, and feels like a tragedy has been used for the purpose of religious "chest beating". |

Talent over unclothedness Bros leave that one... Are you so sure if she fell under the "sexy" category she wouldn't have hopped on the naked train too? The allure of validation is too strong for most ladies to resist. It just pricks me that stripping naked, is to most ladies the closest thing to being "daring". Like, how superficial could one be? It's one those western practices of "self love" that totally misses the mark. Now we just have ladies seeking validation for things most people don't give two sh*ts about. It's so annoying |

Honestly from what I've read, you do sound "neurotic". Not to bother though, because most peeps are in some way.
Your non-violent stance towards animals may be more fear than love-based. I've never killed a chicken in my life, i also don't like to watch animals being slaughtered. I have killed wall geckos before, but they still give me the creeps, more so snakes.
But having said this, it's important to know that many of the things which we choose to partake in, or abstain from may just be as a matter of convenience. Simply because we could afford to. And trust me, it's a very interesting game. The game being; "how many things can i avoid doing".
But if taken too far, something your mind may very well be doing, you might begin to get "boxed in". Just imagine if all the edible plants in the world were gone, and so were any frozen meat. And the only option was to hunt and kill animals, what would you have done? Would you have just sat in one place until you died of starvation? I highly doubt that.
The fact that we're civilized now and obey societal norms doesn't mean we always were. The fact that we have certain "natural dispositions" towards things doesn't mean they can't change over time. We're full of surprises under pressure. Just make sure you follow a sound rationale before doing things. Some of the things you said are reasonable, some aren't. If you thought all were, you wouldn't be here. That's my two cents! |

Let's stop wasting our time chasing shadows. You're a Christian, and so am i(although not a staunch one). In the end the solution involves winning them to christ, reforming their mind and all that. And that, many would reject. Because it's a free world, and freedom implies the ability to express one's self whether sinful or otherwise. So far as the common laws aren't broken. Besides all this you would find trying to make people "decent" a messy and totally futile attempt. You can whitewash society as much as you want, to give it the appearance of a sane and morally upright one. It's like spring cleaning your house, but in the end where would all the trash go to? Well, the answer is "somewhere". Immorality is here to stay. For all we know Nigerian law is anti-narcotic. We don't even allow cannabis use even though alot of the developed world allow for it's use. But, in the end drug use is still a prevalent problem here. Y'all should stop wasting y'all time |

Stephenomozzy: It's hard to comment one's opinion o... This is a marriage. If it was a dating relationship now.. Men would have said something.
What you should do... Stop checking her phone for the time being so she's not overly on alert (deleting messages), put away your apprehension for a while and love her as your wife... Start showing her attention more than before that she will be so busy with you that she won't have time to be online to talk with figure 3.
Especially in this lockdown period.... Are you a boring person? She may not really be cheating (in the general sense of the word) but just having fun discussions with someone who makes her feel good..... Fill that void, engage her same way you engaged her before you both agreed that marriage was the next big step for your love.
She can't leave the house to go an "cheat" so wean her off from the guy before lockdown is called off!
Operation Win Your Wife!!!!
Everyone who has quoted me to talk BS.
If you know that everyone is entitled to their opinion, you would rather have shared your opinion to help op rather than countering mine.
All of you saying point blank that she is cheating....are you saying the Op should divorce her? Give her hell in the marriage? Cheat on her also?
One even went as far as saying na only women like my comment... One said his mother is a single mom. Lol... Who nairaland likes epp?
I just threw in my two cents. Op can do whatever he likes. Naim go say "I do" Honestly, i wouldn't recommend your advice to anyone in this situation. Because it totally absolves the accused of any blame. What happened to simply telling one's partner of his/her lapses with regards to giving adequate attention? And of course there must be a reason for a lack thereof. Now he's got to "win" back a wife who knew fully well the implications of her actions and still went ahead? And from the clutches of another idiot who's only bent on causing trouble, and would probably flee when shit hits the fan. That's preposterous! Hope you know there's such a thing as "emotional cheating"? It doesn't need to end up in the sheets for it to be deemed cheating. Afterall, of what use is a relationship if one or both parties fails to be emotionally intimate with the other? Let's be honest bro, sex would be nothing but a recreational act without the emotional implications. A person could fall out of love with his/her partner without ending up in another's bed. And still, one could cheat and remain inlove with the one who has been betrayed. It happens man. I'm not advocating divorce or anything. In truth, both parties have faults, but the wife needs a strong telling off if his suspicions are true. It's simply unacceptable |

PMPhoenix: A Song about Daylight
I made this one sometime during the first quarter of 2019. I got the idea for it after feeling jealous of how a friend of mine communicated freely with his parents. Now this might sound like a strange thing to be jealous of to some of you, but after experiencing the way they talked so freely (right down to even personal events and sex life) and looking at what I and a good number of other people have going on in our circles which is a far cry from that, I couldn’t help but feel bad about it.
I know no family is perfect but the effect of this one on me was strong. By extension, there’s a lot of well to do individuals who, despite having enviable financial/social statuses, don’t have genuine and honest relationships with family members or other people in general, there are guys and ladies out there right now who pay people to just spend time with them, who am I to judge though?
This drawing was inspired by that complexity. In the image there’s two subjects, the female subject is affluently adorned to represent the wealthy, the male represents the powerful as he wields an ‘ofor’ (a short staff usually held by men of leadership status in Igbo land) and is also wearing a chieftain cap. In a mannerism inspired by Michelangelo’s painting ‘The Creation’ both are reaching towards the central portion of the space which is lit up slightly, the central portion represents the simple joys of life, peace, happiness, acceptance, trust, friendship and love.
Both models in this drawing are actual family members. I wanted to photograph family members for the image to retain the spiritual potency of what initially inspired it.
The daily struggles we face as Nigerians tend to make us misplace the value of these virtues and on the long run when we do acknowledge them, they might not be so easy to get back. I know the feeling bros... I've got friends who talk to their folks as if they were pals ... Nice work by the way |

Christianity Etc › Re: Should I Pay Tithe From My 20k Stimulus I Got From Government? by JastSiryin(m): 12:33pm On Apr 19, 2020 |
Questions like this have become redundant i swear. It comes from people who feel reluctant to give, but at the same time can't deal with the guilt of not giving. My friend ask yourself if you've always felt "compelled" to give your tithe, or have always given of freewill. The first is borne out of guilt, and therefore can never be sincere. And the second can't be forced by any means, because it requires selflessness. Giving without expecting anything in return. But guess what? Most humans always want something in return! And that's perfectly okay. It was why God gave incentives; promised to bless us, and so on... By now you should know if all of those are true. From your own life there should be proof for your tithe giving. And honestly, if you feel there isn't, why give? Why waste money that could have been used for something else? You know quite well God doesn't need your money for his upkeep. Don't be like those foolish people who drag their feet to the tithe basket and have to always convince themselves to give even though they'd rather not. Beacuse they can't bear to stand the constant gaze of God's disapproval(which of course is plain ol' guilt). So they console themselves with the "belief" that God must be blessing them, even though they can't tell for sure. But at the very least they're alive, right? If you have to consult the church every time in order to know what to do with your money, it means you're confused. That's the plain truth. Because next week it could be "my friend dashed me 5k,should i pay tithe?" Wisdom is profitable to direct |
