Like I said, I like the pricing of Tecno phones and would want them to go on and make mid-range and high-end phones at relatively lower prices as far as quality is not compromised. At least this is the way it is in other countries.


But before that, we need to be true to ourselves about their current line-up which although fantastic, is not meant to be a direct competitor to current high-end phones

But like the op asked if P3 was the best low-end phone (note: low-end), I think you need to get the difference between low, mid and high-end so you stop getting it mixed up.

First I came across your post that said those buying expensive phones are jealous of cheaper ones. I was quite confused and asked you to explain. You then went on to say the N7 can measure up to the S3 and I simply asked you to specifically state in what ways it does that. You then come up with this. I'm still waiting.





Yes I took your word literally because you gave specific numbers and came across as someone who knows a thing or two.





Lastly, I don't think your analogy comparing the 09 Camry to the Range R is correct. I used to think it was more of a 1979 VW Beetle to the current Range R. But then I might be wrong and that's what I want you to specifically clarify.



P.S. Just so you don't get it wrong, let me emphatically state that I have absolutely nothing against Tecno phones and that I applaud their really competitive pricing and hope others will follow suit especially if it does not affect quality.

First, the N7 is above 20K and the S3 is well below 100k but I would give you that.


But please can you specifically (note: specifically) mention the ways the N7 measures up to the S3 cos that part confuses me a bit.

Android OS is such a simple and superb
platform where you can turn your phone into a complete utility machine.
In Nokia's Lumia series, to transfer content like music and videos you need to download and install Zune into the machine, without which, your phone is nothing.
Whereas in Android you don't need any
special thing to start the mass storage mode.
The only strong contender coming from WP Stable is WP8 which is almost as good as android's Jelly bean.

Most of the things you said are wrong.
For starters, let me point out one. Android has never been associated with simplicity. Infact it's the most complex modern OS.

They are certainly low-end.

Phones like the galaxy grand and S3 mini are mid-range while the S3 and S4 are high-end.

You can draw your extrapolations from that.

Though it may be too blunt, I would have to agree partially with him especially with all the Tecno phones flying around.

This has nothing with it being a Nokia phone. I'm always objective in my assessment and will point out pros and cons without bias.

Daily automatic app updates is a common feature with android phones since it's inception. It's really not something to brag about.

Windows phones are great devices no doubt, but comparing it with ICS and JB OS that is the engine room of high-end Android devices is just sad.

The only real competition Android has now is iPhone and no other. Windows phones are collectively a distant third...or fourth.

Aside from a few nitpicks, WP would hold up perfectly against those two.
Personally, I prefer the WP UI to that of android and iOS.

I came across the grand duos and fiddled with it for some time and I must say it was impressive.


For me, the best phones around that price range are the grand duos and the Lumia 720. These two are really worth it.

You should go for the grand. You would be able to do all those better on it especially internet browsing and using apps. This is mainly because of its larger screen which is really immersive.
The mini is mainly for those who prefer a small form factor.

BBM is definitely the best messaging app on any platform. Better than Whatsapp in my opinion. Though it may hurt them in developing markets, overall it's a good move.

asala1: NOKIA is just struggling to survive, they can't compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple anymore as high end phones. They should try to hold down their market in low-end phone which they are fast losing to TECHNO.

I don't know when you started using a smarphone, but not too long ago Apple was bankrupt and even more recently Samsung was a nobody in the smarphone world.

These models are low end yes but the fact remains they are smartphones running on android.

Tecno did not develope android and so it can perfom most tasks other android devices can perform.

I use galaxy note1 but should i need a low end smartphone, it must be the Tecno N7 period.

I have no problem with Tecno phones. What I have issues with are people who litter every thread acting like Tecno phones are high-end phones.

Like I said before, If you're still comparing phones based on what each can do, then you have a long way to go.

It's like comparing a VW Beetle and a Porsche and telling me that they're thesame cos they can both take you to your destination.

Asking that question shows you haven't used a smarphone for upto 3 months.

Mind you, I have no problem with cheaper phones. I personally have used them. What I hate is ignorant people trolling the whole place.
