FashionRe: Black Women Rocking Their Natural Hair by Jenifa1: 6:42pm On Sep 25, 2011
I love when black women wear their natural hair. to me it suggests courage and strong self esteem.
but I also do not fault black women who wear weaves. They wear it for a reason. ie to fit in or to attract male attention. whether we like it or not, black guys are more attracted to weaves than to natural hair. unless you are one of the black girls with naturally curly or "good" hair.
lax75 is an anomaly here.

@kony,
being light skinned in hollywood is a rule for females. we are talking about females not males.

Some parts of my family do the courting thing, as in the old age courting thing. I don't like labels or boxes, never have. So when someone says are you dating, i say no. . .we see each other. Just as i call him a man i'm involved with. Used to drive him nuts tongue I don't think i have the patience or maybe disposition for courtship.
lol @ "we see each other" grin

it's all a matter of choice as i can see

Christianity EtcRe: Why Africans Are Religious by Jenifa1: 1:12am On Sep 21, 2011
I think we need to first make the distinction between religiosity and spirituality. because there is a difference

For me the opposite of spirituality is materialism.
in many cultures, nuns, monks, priests and other spiritual leaders are supposed to abstain from worldly possessions and materials. they are supposed to live pure and simple.
This contrasts with with situation we have in Nigeria where our supposedly "spiritual" leaders and pastors are full of religion but devoid of spirituality!
Religious in the sense that you will find them in the church preaching and praying. but materialistic in the sense that you will find them more obsessed with the world (jets, expensive suits, jewelry, mansions, cars etc) than following Jesus' example.

That's why they say that attending church every sunday (religion) does not make one a true christian (spirituality). At least that's the way I see it.

Going back to the topic,
I don't necessarily think that Africans are more religious. Westerners are religious too. Their religion is Science!
The question should be which people are more spiritual and which are more materialistic.

re-read my post with the italics and you will see what the "she" is qualifying.
I feel like i'm explaining the use of pronouns to a 3rd grader.

Ranoscky:
The "she" you know, or all white "shes" ?

HealthRe: Do Black Women Get Cellulite? by Jenifa1: 8:08am On Sep 18, 2011
^ nah. i've seen it more on white women.
black women who are morbidly obese will usually have it. but it doesn't take much for a white woman to have it. as long as she gets to 40 even if she's average weight, cellulite starts to creep up on her thighs

i'm pretty sure there is an explanation for it sef. just like wrinkles is also more prevalent among whites due to their thinner skin/ sensitivity to sun exposure etc.
RomanceRe: Ladies, Only One Way To Make Guys Go All Over For U! by Jenifa1: 8:04am On Sep 18, 2011
Isn't that obvious though.

but why would you want them all over you? some women are trying to get the guys off their backs.
besides, you should be letting the men woo you not the other way round.
