Pls has anyone bought PTA recently through Gtbank, Access bank, First Bank, or Fidelity Bank? What's the process and duration pls? Will they sell dollar at CBN rates? I really would like to buy at bank rates for my upcoming trip, saves one a lot of money than buying at Black Market rates. Thx

Hope you lot are having a good day. It will be very ungrateful of me if I don't give a feedback on this forum concerning all that I have learnt here and how it has helped me in achieving my international travel goals.
First of all, I want to say thanks to every one that comments on here and posts their interview experience - those approved visas and those denied. I learned a lot about why the approved visas were issued and why the rejected applications did not sail through. I have been a silent reader on the Travel page on nairaland right from when I applied for an S.A visa last year. That was right in the middle of the Xenophobic attacks last year. I read the S.A visit visa pages and applied for my visa last year, with prayers and faith I was issued a visa. Now fast-forward to this year. I only applied for my U.S visit visa last week. Just in one week I read page 1- page 346 of this U.S visit visa forum. I prayed and fasted, made sure I was applying for the right type of visa, I read this forum like I was preparing for Bar Exams (lawyers), etc.
I advise that anyone applying to stick to whatever info you filled on your DHS-1 form. My appointment was for 7.15am today and the blue paper was been giving like free sweets to many but God favoured me.
Anyways, here goes my Transcript (nb: its my 1st time applying). I was interviewed by a White Male who hardly smiled

V.O: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning (with a smile)

V.O: Can I have your Passport
Me: (Passed it to him and he started typing fast)

V.O: Why are you going to the U.S?
Me: I wish to attend the NeoCon Event in Chicago Illinois... (V.I cuts in )

V.O: What's that? (NeoCon Event)
Me: It's a conference on Interior Designing

V.O: Ok. What do you do?
Me: I'm a businesswoman. I own a company called blah, blah, blah. We are into blah, blah, blah! (He was typing all through)

V.O: Have you travelled outside your country before?
Me: Yes i have actually been to the U.K, Dubai and recently South Africa. (He was going through my passport and spotted my previous S.A visa. Then he spotted my Old Passport and told me to hand it over. He glanced through my UK and Dubai Visas, including Stamps from my previous West African Countries trips to Ghana and Togo)

V.O: When was the last time you travelled to the UK?
Me: I studied a Diploma in Law over there between 2001- 2003 and came back home to do a full degree in Law (i studied law but I'm an Interior Designer)

V.O: (Stretching his right hand to collect the mighty white paper) Madam, your visa has been approved
Me: (Smiling) Thanks very much.

Guys, my travel history helped me. Also, the conference I am attending is completely related to my job. I was also very bold and relaxed. Thanks to God almighty and you lot. Best wishes to everyone still trying to get through the process. May God favour you IJN.

The way only things that the other popular men of God in Nigeria preaches on the pulpit is tithing. Joshua doesn't do that. Who has adeboye helped? What of oyedepo, muoka, etc? Its only to collect from people and buy private jets.

All of you criticising the man are of God are all FOOLS. I was once like you all so I don't blame you all. I first heard about T.B Joshua while studying in UK through the Daily Sun Newspaper over there. I was 18 yrs old. I am 30 now. The paper interviewed so many White British citizens that received their healing through his ministry. Those came back to England and were encouraging people to visit Nigeria. When you watch Emmanuel TV you see so many foreigners from all over the world giving testimonies. Asians, blacks, whites, Hispanics etc. Are you saying that he pays these people to act for the cameras? If indeed it is true then why haven't any of those 'actors' come out to mention it for several years. I have been to Synagogue and I can testify that God is in that place. God called T.B joshua to help our generation. Apart from that he is the only pastor that I have seen that shares his money to the poor and people in need all over the world. He doesn't mind whether you are Muslim or Christian. He was the one that discovery footballers in our national teams like Onazi, Sani Emmanuel, etc. Google it. He has trained so many disabled people up to masters degree level, even little people whom some of us call dwarfs. I am not a member of his church but I have seen the power of Christ working through the prophet.

Op, I have read all comments by other contributors on this topic. Pls do you watch Emmanuel TV, that's T.B Joshua's channel on Dstv? There are so many cases like your wife's in there. So many women go to SCOAN with same problems and are delivered. First of all, try going to a urologist. If that doesn't work then go to Synagogue, believe me you will be amazed by the Grace of God. Point of correction, i wasnt with him becos of money and in the three years that i dated him he only gave me money 3 times. i have my own business and have always been independent. he actually didnt like me working to earn my own money becos hes one of the men that a woman's place is just in the bedroom abd kitchen.

I was with him for almost three years on and off. we were in different cities during the duration of the relationship but with regular visits. this man mistreated me, i was never happy with him, in fact its the worst relationship i have ever had. theres nothing that he didnt do to me except physically assaulting me, still i stayed with him praying everyday that he will change.

i'm a pretty lady and i always getting attention from guys yet i remained faithful to him despite the distance. all of sudden he cut contact with me and i decided not to bother to ask him why becos i had had enough myself. ex started calling me again though i didnt answer his calls. a month later i saw pictures of his wedding online, the girl he married is someone i had found out that he was cheating on me with in the past , though he denied it back then. she was even pregnant on their wedding day, i was shocked when i saw the pictures and cried my heart out.

after his marriage i found some information about this man which i never knew before , he is a niger-delta militant with 2 babymammas who he beats at the silighest provocation. this is someone that told me he deals in oil and gas o. now this same man has started calling me and begging me to forgive him for the way he treated me while we were together and that i should mention anytin that i want and he will do for me, whether monetarily or not. i told him to go to hell with his pleading and money, however my friends are advising me to whatever he offers me and leave him.

@op, i advise u to ignore all these people throwing insults at u here. Most of the people cursing u out will even die there if they were to be in the same situation. They say that talk is cheap. Most people here will also do what u are doing now and come out to pretend that they are strong emotionally. Sweetie i know that u like or love thiis guy. Its even worse cos u both fought over something so better and he calls off the engagement. He might be jazzed or might not be. You need to pray foor you an then for him then my dear you have to remember that at the end of the day you are the one that comes first. Respect yourself and stop pleading becos u have tried. I recommend NC [NO CONTACT RULE) for at least 3months. Google it pls. Just take those 2months to work on urself and no matter how hard it feels dont contact him. Tell the mutual friend too that you will like to move on and he shld mentioning ur ex in conversations with you or givn u updates about him. I swear that if ur ex finds out that ur over him he will want to come back to know whether or not he still has a hold on you. It will be now left to you to accept him back or not becos you will be emotionally stronger by then. Its hard but theres no harm in tryn. U nid to win back ur respect in his eyes. Goodluck

I will not critize you about marrying your hubby. People make mistakes in love atimes. You have married the man now. Your husband loves you and the other woman, but for different reasons. She wasn't a wife-material and he knew it. Firstly, you have to sit your hubby down and talk to him (again). Don't ever nag him becos you would be pushing him to her. Be on your best behaviour always. I know you want peace in your home but Stop apologizing everytime he's clearly in the wrong cos it screams that you may have a low self-esteem. Now start to pray. Pray at midnight with that stupid girl's name (try to get her name). Also, give your pastor the girl's name and let him help you in prayer too. You can go to any MFM pastor and they will do it for you. I'm an MFM member and we have prayers like this for such strange women. Believe me, if you do this,the God that join you and your hubby in the marriage will break any bond between that girl and your husband. Don't give up.

I've been a silent follower of this section on nairaland for a long time, however I have something that is eating me up in my mind. So here goes:-
My bf and I have been dating on and off for 2years now. The first time we broke up (last year) he had cheated on me, I forgave him. We broke up a second time becos he was upset that I travelled out of the country on a short break "without him knowing" according to him (I told him o but he just didn't want me to go). In the middle of all the fights and begging him about the trip he uploaded a strange girl's pix on his dp. My bf is so inlove with himself that he only uses his personal pix as dp on his phone so I went into a mad rage and tears when I saw the lady's picture on his dp. To cut the long story short, i was so hurt that after a few weeks I went online, copied a picture of a nigerian male model (Ngo Okafor) and sent it to my guy and I told him that the guy in the pix just finished shagging me now and that he's better that my bf in bed. We broke up of course. Mind you I have always been faithfull to him but did this to spite him becos he had cheated on me before and also flaunting a girl on his dp. Now, we are reconciled and have been back together for a year now, however, he keeps refering to the pix that I sent him when we talk. I'm dying of guilt and don't know if I should tell him the truth. Would I look foolish to him? I worry if he would that I'm lying if I say the truth. Would he think that I'm desprate to keep him? Driving with one hand is something that has become a part of my driving life. But I notice I only do it when on a straight clear road with no traffic. Its fun atimes

Wish that I could actually drive with my shoes on. Have tried to but drive wearing heels but it felt like I was putting a lot of force on my brakes and pedestal. *smh* the best that I can do I drive with flip-flops.

@ topic, I'm 5'10 and still wear my heels which could take me up to 6'0. I can't stand and will never ever date a short man (think tom cruise and nicole kidman). The least that I go for in terms of height is someone of the same height as me. I'm sure that most girls can relate.

Funkymallam: The Ministry of Power has assured that worst days of power supply in Nigeria are over, noting that the recent improvement in the sector would be maintained to meet international standards.
The ministry also refuted media reports that the Shiroro Dam which supplies water to the Shiroro Hydro Power Station was shut down by the workers union.

A statement by the Special Assistant, Media, to the Minister of Power, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, read, “The reports were obviously planted by a handful of professional trade unionists in the leadership of the National Union of Electricity Employees, who do not consider anything sacred in their self-assigned mission of agitation and propaganda against the ongoing power sector reform.

“We would like to assure all Nigerians that the worst days are over as far as electricity is concerned. The current improvement is not irreversible. The programme for power development in Nigeria to international standards is very much on course, and the whole world is convinced that Nigeria is finally on the right electricity track.”

According to the ministry, the facility performed better than the 760mw-Kainji hydro power plant built in 1968, which had not been overhauled till date. It added that the station was a major contributor to the unprecedented 4,237mw on the national grid and the 70mw reserve generated since August 7, this year.
