obama had ideas and didn't rely soley on empty rhetoric like most of these abe guys (although he has sold out on lots of his promises). history has shown the populist movement would die down as soon as the economy gets better. There was a similar movement during the depression.

We'll see sha. As for Obama and his ideas . . . he will have 4 more years to show us the substance behind the ideas.

bare bones is the key word here, the american government would have to work on bare bones for that ideological to work. say hello to streamlined medicare/medicaid.

I dunno about 'drastically' but I think if all persons concerned look closely enough, there are savings to be had in almost every branch or sector of government.

I wonder how our tea-party folks would react when the US armed forces becomes a deficit reduction casualty. americans love to talk all about small government but i doubt if they are ready for it.

i believe most of the tea-parties were sarah palin backers rather than obama supporters. don't get me wrong, i believe uncle obama has sold out on issues such as health care and don't-ask don't tell (i'm NL's gay rights activist ) but the tea party with their conservative approach doesn't appeal to me. heck they scare me.

Once you go conservative you never go back. Are you also shopping at Whole Foods market? Nah but seriously, neither extreme of left or right is good. Policies sliding back and forth over center is best in my opinion.

I have long given up on the idea of an "inspiring" politician. What's the point? somehow they all end up being the same

No way. I would've left the girl alone safe, to have the normal, good, productive, LOVED life her mother would never give her. I would not have even labored in my heart or mind over it. I take the other direction here from Vesc. Affleck's character should've listened to his wife. Sometimes doing "the right thing" is not doing the right thing. Remember the begining when they were contemplating taking the case and she asked him "we have a good life don't we?" as if she foreknew, what they would find would tear them apart.

Has anyone seen "The Town"? They say its a combination of "The Departed", "Gone Baby Gone" and "Heat"

That movie moved me. Its funny, few yrs ago I was at my sisters gradutation and the Keynote speaker was Dennis Lehane. The name rang no bells, but when he began to speak on his books that had become movies and another was slated to be out soon (Shutter Island) I was pleasantly suprised. I LOVE Gone baby Gone and Mystic River. I mean those are two movies that just wrench your heart out.  He's a smart, funny, witty man. Made the tent-full of grads feel like their dreams were actually possible.

Anyways . . .

Nice reviews from everyone and I agree with everyone so no need for repetition. I found Vera Farmiga a bit flat, especially considering how intense all the other characters were. I was suprised to see DiCap's character get offed so "easily" but the movie did end about as well as one can hope. I hated seeing Jason Bourne playing bad guy tho . . .

On Mark Wahlberg. I love that dude. I'm not sure why. I'll watch pretty much anything with him in it. And if the movie stinks, then its someone else's fault. But seriously, I think he's way way waaaayyyy under-rated as an actor.

I rate 83%.
