dayokanu:I was surprised to hear the news. I thought BP would put up a fight. I wonder how the Brits are taking the news . . . |
Celtics, I forgive you for not showing up last night. Now, you'd better clinch game 7 or else, I'll do nothing ![]() |
Where is JeSoul baby. . . She needs to watch how i screamed, yelled and suppourted her home team till i went hoarse!!!!,Hey Rikky swettie long time. I suprise small u dey support Celtics lol. So ur love no stretch from Indy reach Tom Brady? . I guess Phil said wat he did to motivate his players (this is one example how i dont like mics on coaches). Anyways awesome to know you're on the winning side . So wetin dey happen in Indypolis these days? |
True, but the problem is lakers are not playing like a team anymore, its kobe and the rest, we've just continued to decline as the series progressed. Unless gasol, odom and co wanna silent some people, there's no way kobe can lead us to a victory in game 6.
You're right, but I honestly think people are overreacting to the two losses. It's not like the Lakers were blown out now. They just came off 3 road games in a very hostile environment, going back home, you can expect they'll play better. Personally, I hope they don't of course . |
v3:Don't mind them, na bad belle. We can review Man on Fire or Inside Man or his oscar award-winner in Training Day. |
^^ Abi o, you're right jare. Bawo why are you selling out on the East? perhaps this is why the bulls will never progress? ![]() |
chiogo:Excellent point sista, and the one thing that gives me comfort . We can and have won in LA.bawomolo:Shouldn't you be holding a fishing pole somewhere on Lake Michigan? ![]() |
I still can't believe the Celtics are one game away from the championship. Going into the playoffs we all expected a second round showing at best. I really hope we can close it out tonight, you don't wanna take it to game 7. And contrary to popular thought, I think LA has the upper hand going back home. It'll be tough for the C's to win 3 games in a row against a team like LA. |
Yeah I see it, sawwry. Seun with his busyiness sometimes takes a while to respond. Folks can always click on your profile>show last posts to see it until it gets restored. |
dayokanu:Hehe, you've been sipping on too much hatorade D-boy. Come over to the winning side before its too late Ibime: Beaf:I was even going to say that when I read Ibime's post. 50% is very liberal. If I present 50% accuracy numbers for my experimental data, my boss would wonder if I were drunk or high. |
Dayo, its the spambot that's tagging your posts. Don't repost or else it could ban you automatically. I'll pm Seun to untag for you. |
Debosky, so would you rather have had Obama, the locals and everyone else just be quiet and stand to the side, and trust BP to do their best and spare no expense as they made failed attempt after failed attempt for over a month and a half to stop or even bring under control the hemorrhaging pipeline? Obama may indeed be trying to score political points or, he may genuinely be outraged like many of us are. This is an unprecedented disaster that will have devastating effects for decades to come on a significant chunk of the environment. Why is it suprising people are angry and blaming BP? especially when it appears they have tried to conceal information from the public? |
^^ LOL Tayo, I actually was a spectator on that thread. Take am easy with Ayatollah now, na slip of tongue lol. |
canuck:hehe true true . It's just that friday off sounds so much better. Canuck, you're the same Canuck who's dropped in the Religion section in the past right? why you no dey stop by now? ![]() |
Ikomi:Hehe . . . not sure if I caught that drift but . . . are you Ahmendinejad's 24th son from his 4th wife? ![]() |
joeycrack:I have no problem with that and I'm sure BP is taking as many down with them as possible. It's just that at the end of the day, the logo on the side of the building says "BP", the ones calling the shots from the top. |
joeycrack: Ibime:1 in every 5. wow. Well, some people won't be buying/getting that 50inch 1080p flat screen TV this christmas. Time to tighten that belt. |
Ayatollah Ikomi dear, Frosbel hasn't lost his senses now. He's very passionate about the issue and I'm just wondering why. You too are passionate in the opposite direction now, abi not so? ![]() |
joeycrack:Thanks for clarifying that Joey. Honestly, while it may be "unfair" to BP, I support the move. With the incredible weight of this disaster, and the cost for clean-up and other issues for decades to come, who should bear the burden? U.S. taxpayers? I understand what you say that the cost may eventually get passed on to us via institutional vendors, but that is a possibility I think most people will accept in a heartbeat. Only $75mill for liability? that's one CEO's bonus for one year jare. How did they get that deal in the first place self? |
^^took the words right outta my mouth. But wait oh, didn't I read somewhere there is a cap on BP's liability? and infact Congress is trying to increase it to $50Bill? or am I mixing it up with something else? |
canuck:I agree 1000% friday mornings are definitely the lowest for traffic, but Friday afternoons? terrible. As for Monday mornings being low-congestion . . . hmm interesting, my personal experience was otherwise. Speculations are that most Americans call-in "sick" on Mondays than any other day!Lol. I would argue friday over monday, so they can have a nice long weekend. Infact I'm thinking of exercising that option for tomorrow ![]() |
Kai Frosbel, all these topics. Are you half-Isreali on your father's side? ![]() |
It's true many U.S. polticians will seize this opportunity to score some political points, but it is also very true that everyday people are suffering incredibly from this disaster and have a right to be enraged with the situation. Fishermen especially, many of them 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation. I cannot recount how many interviews I've watched of the locals, many of them crying on camera on how their lives have been negatively impacted by the disaster. So right now I have no problem with comments borne from genuine outrage. This is an unprecendented disaster that will have lasting negative effects on a huge chunk of the environment for decades and decades to come. So in light of that, worrying about whether they're being "too harsh" on BP is almost irrelevant I think. Details are emerging everyday of BP's attempts to hide the sad details of the spill, denying the existence of another oil plume or whatever, of them putting on a show for cameras etc. And from their perspective I can understand that. They're a company and have to protect their image and assets. However, this oil spill is bigger than BP's need to do damage control on their image. As for their "foreigness" as you put it, well, I guess its only natural people will react like that. It's about perception - though as you put it that perception may not match up with reality. Accidentally burning the carpet in your own house vs accidentally burning the carpet in your neighbor's house. It would be perceived that since its your house, you'll do a better, more dedicated job cleaning the mess, vs if it were your neighbor's house. |
^I just popped in to say, a TV sighting. lol. Prodigal son, the guests are almost gone oh! na just me and you soon. |
For those who missed it the first time around . . . |
Actually this trend of monday morning/friday afternoon heavy traffic is not unique to only Naija. I used to commute 42miles (84miles total) to work and traffic on the highway was always worst monday mornings and friday afternoons. I think its because people usually return from the weekend away, or whatever on monday mornings. And likewise, people usually travel/go away for the weekend on fridays afternoons/early evening. |
bawomolo:Bawo are you off your meds today? haven't you been rooting for the Bulls all these yrs? ![]() |
bawomolo:Lol. I agree Artest is not the wondrous defender of the earth he's heralded to be, but he is up there among the best. Mehn wetin do Ray Allen? he used up all his mojo in game 2. Hopefully he gets some back in time for game 3. I have zero time to even watch the games so I'll be relying on ya'lls |
And how does that apply here?
Lady lady lady Its funny I already said this in anticipation you would return with such a comebackJeSoul:The topic is about a catholic priest fathering a child from an extra-papal relationship and hiding it for years. Hypocrisy as shown above is pretending to be something you're not. The priest is a hypocrit. That clarifies? |
I saw the title, and it brought out a chuckle from me . . . "solution to the middle east crisis" - a statement full of oxymorons if I ever saw one lol. Then I waka enter thread make I see wetin people dey talk and to my suprise a beautiful, entertaining write-up from the briliiant MyJoe. Who else can put together a story featuring the words "Ahmedinejad, Bible, Tuxedo, Mama-gee, Gele - and then top it off with a Nigerian proverb lol. MyJoe, mad kudos brotha! mad kudos. As for the ME. They've been fighting since abrahimic times, come futuristic times, they will still be fighting. Unfortunately, "a lasting solution to the ME crisis" is nothing more than a poor man's pipe dream. |
MyJoe, as usual, you make very good points. I agree wholeheartedly with you that deceivers will be judged with the harshest of judgement - the bible even says that those who "teach" the gospel will be judged more harshly than those who listened. I think most people will agree that it is a terrible thing the way religion has abused onto selfish ends at the cost of millions of poor people. MyJoe:Not quite. If you're talking about the verse, what we have are two blind men. One pretending to know the way and the other blindly (no pun intended) following. Although Deepsight's tone may be harsh, he is hitting on the most important point I think - personal responsibility. As complicated as religion and spirituality is, and as crafty and skilled the deceivers are in manipulating it unto their own end, in the end - each man is responsible for himself - I think this is what DS is trying to say. The deceivers are guilty, no doubt. But this goes back to a famous quote: no one can make you feel inferior without your permission. And in the same way, no one can deceive you without your permission. It starts with each man and it will end with each man. It is the same bible that says each will stand before God and answer for himself. |
