Celtics, I forgive you for not showing up last night. Now, you'd better clinch game 7 or else, I'll do nothing grin

Where is JeSoul baby. . .  She needs to watch how i screamed, yelled and suppourted her home team till i went hoarse!!!!,

The Celtics offense and D were just inch-perfect. In the last 2 games, the celtics benchies have become the best thing since sliced bread and diced tomatoes

I am ABL. . . Anyteam But d Lakers. 2yrs ago, i was on 'em Celtics nuts, this year again i am still supporting the same negro-filled team

Here we go Celtics, lets go make it rain in LA, "BEAT LA", humiliate Jack Nicholson and his $4,000 court seat and disgrace Phil Jackson for saying "this team knows how to lose in the 4th Q and they are showing it right now." What an arrogant twerp!
Hey Rikky swettie smiley long time. I suprise small u dey support Celtics lol. So ur love no stretch from Indy reach Tom Brady? cheesy. I guess Phil said wat he did to motivate his players (this is one example how i dont like mics on coaches). Anyways awesome to know you're on the winning side cheesy. So wetin dey happen in Indypolis these days?
True, but the problem is lakers are not playing like a team anymore, its kobe and the rest, we've just continued to decline as the series progressed. Unless gasol, odom and co wanna silent some people, there's no way kobe can lead us to a victory in game 6.
You're right, but I honestly think people are overreacting to the two losses. It's not like the Lakers were blown out now. They just came off 3 road games in a very hostile environment, going back home, you can expect they'll play better. Personally, I hope they don't of course smiley.

True, LA people would be prepared. But I seriously hope the Celtics' close it out today, if Lakers take this one then I dunno about that Championship.

But then the Celtics play better on the road, in my opinion.
Excellent point sista, and the one thing that gives me comfort smiley. We can and have won in LA.

SportsRe: NBA Season 2010/11 by JeSoul(f): 5:41pm On Jun 15, 2010
I still can't believe the Celtics are one game away from the championship.

Going into the playoffs we all expected a second round showing at best. I really hope we can close it out tonight, you don't wanna take it to game 7. And contrary to popular thought, I think LA has the upper hand going back home. It'll be tough for the C's to win 3 games in a row against a team like LA.

@Ibime
I believe they should be much more accurate than 50% otherwise they wouldn't be in business very long.
I was even going to say that when I read Ibime's post. 50% is very liberal. If I present 50% accuracy numbers for my experimental data, my boss would wonder if I were drunk or high.

Debosky, so would you rather have had Obama, the locals and everyone else just be quiet and stand to the side, and trust BP to do their best and spare no expense as they made failed attempt after failed attempt for over a month and a half to stop or even bring under control the hemorrhaging pipeline?

Obama may indeed be trying to score political points or, he may genuinely be outraged like many of us are. This is an unprecedented disaster that will have devastating effects for decades to come on a significant chunk of the environment. Why is it suprising people are angry and blaming BP? especially when it appears they have tried to conceal information from the public?

I understand your point, the tax payers shouldn't be made to pay but how about also dishing out the bill to other contractors who run it. Companies like Transocean, Haliburton, Anadarko, Mitsui, and Cameron Internaltional.
I have no problem with that and I'm sure BP is taking as many down with them as possible. It's just that at the end of the day, the logo on the side of the building says "BP", the ones calling the shots from the top.

ou could argue that but a lot peoples pension do rely on BP paying dividends. About £1 in every £6 of UK pensions are exposed to BP.
Ibime:
British Industry is complaining that Obama's rhetoric on BP is too harsh. This is because something like £1 in every £5 pension funds are tied up in BP.
1 in every 5. wow. Well, some people won't be buying/getting that 50inch 1080p flat screen TV this christmas. Time to tighten that belt.

Obama backing Congress plans to retrospectively raise the liability limit for claims from $75m to $10bn.
Thanks for clarifying that Joey.

Honestly, while it may be "unfair" to BP, I support the move. With the incredible weight of this disaster, and the cost for clean-up and other issues for decades to come, who should bear the burden? U.S. taxpayers?

I understand what you say that the cost may eventually get passed on to us via institutional vendors, but that is a possibility I think most people will accept in a heartbeat. Only $75mill for liability? that's one CEO's bonus for one year jare. How did they get that deal in the first place self?
Foreign AffairsRe: Bp Oil Spill: America Going Too Far? by JeSoul(f): 8:29pm On Jun 10, 2010

@ OP

In Nigeria (at least in the South West), I know that there's a certain devotion to (and probably a superstitious belief about) Mondays - As in what you do on that day will determine the rest of your week. So, most people just get up and go! cheesy

To add a different perspective, Mondays (and Fridays) are low-congestion mornings in the US! (According to Inrix, who supply data to in-car satellite navigation systems)
I agree 1000% friday mornings are definitely the lowest for traffic, but Friday afternoons? terrible. As for Monday mornings being low-congestion . . . hmm interesting, my personal experience was otherwise.

Speculations are that most Americans call-in "sick" on Mondays than any other day!
Lol. I would argue friday over monday, so they can have a nice long weekend. Infact I'm thinking of exercising that option for tomorrow cool

Foreign AffairsRe: Bp Oil Spill: America Going Too Far? by JeSoul(f): 8:10pm On Jun 10, 2010
It's true many U.S. polticians will seize this opportunity to score some political points, but it is also very true that everyday people are suffering incredibly from this disaster and have a right to be enraged with the situation. Fishermen especially, many of them 2nd, 3rd, 4th generation. I cannot recount how many interviews I've watched of the locals, many of them crying on camera on how their lives have been negatively impacted by the disaster.

So right now I have no problem with comments borne from genuine outrage. This is an unprecendented disaster that will have lasting negative effects on a huge chunk of the environment for decades and decades to come. So in light of that, worrying about whether they're being "too harsh" on BP is almost irrelevant I think. Details are emerging everyday of BP's attempts to hide the sad details of the spill, denying the existence of another oil plume or whatever, of them putting on a show for cameras etc. And from their perspective I can understand that. They're a company and have to protect their image and assets. However, this oil spill is bigger than BP's need to do damage control on their image.

As for their "foreigness" as you put it, well, I guess its only natural people will react like that. It's about perception - though as you put it that perception may not match up with reality. Accidentally burning the carpet  in your own house vs accidentally burning the carpet in your neighbor's house. It would be perceived that since its your house, you'll do a better, more dedicated job cleaning the mess, vs if it were your neighbor's house.

Actually this trend of monday morning/friday afternoon heavy traffic is not unique to only Naija.

I used to commute 42miles (84miles total) to work and traffic on the highway was always worst monday mornings and friday afternoons. I think its because people usually return from the weekend away, or whatever on monday mornings. And likewise, people usually travel/go away for the weekend on fridays afternoons/early evening.

JeSoul:
In the context of the topic under discussion (priests and their extra-papal activities), further explaination is certainly not required - except to the mischevious.
The topic is about a catholic priest fathering a child from an extra-papal relationship and hiding it for years. Hypocrisy as shown above is pretending to be something you're not. The priest is a hypocrit. That clarifies?

As for the ME. They've been fighting since abrahimic times, come futuristic times, they will still be fighting. Unfortunately, "a lasting solution to the ME crisis" is nothing more than a poor man's pipe dream.
Christianity EtcRe: Heretic teachings e.g. "I Am Christ" - Their Effects in Society/Christianity by JeSoul(f): 6:20pm On Jun 08, 2010
MyJoe, as usual, you make very good points. I agree wholeheartedly with you that deceivers will be judged with the harshest of judgement - the bible even says that those who "teach" the gospel will be judged more harshly than those who listened. I think most people will agree that it is a terrible thing the way religion has abused onto selfish ends at the cost of millions of poor people.

MyJoe:
I would be more circumspect about blaming the victim, JeSoul. What we have here is a sighted man extending a hand to a blind man and then using his vantage position to to lead that one into a lion's pit.
Not quite. If you're talking about the verse, what we have are two blind men. One pretending to know the way and the other blindly (no pun intended) following.

Although Deepsight's tone may be harsh, he is hitting on the most important point I think - personal responsibility. As complicated as religion and spirituality is, and as crafty and skilled the deceivers are in manipulating it unto their own end, in the end - each man is responsible for himself - I think this is what DS is trying to say.

The deceivers are guilty, no doubt. But this goes back to a famous quote: no one can make you feel inferior without your permission. And in the same way, no one can deceive you without your permission. It starts with each man and it will end with each man. It is the same bible that says each will stand before God and answer for himself.
